European Wrap-Up
It's been a very busy week at work here in WNY, so I haven't had a lot of time to tune in to the European action. So, I thought I'd take a moment to catch up with all the action.
On Tuesday, Citeh traded 8 goals with Monaco in a thrilling 5-3 win that still leaves a lot to be sorted out in the second leg in the principality. Meanwhile, Atletico turned Leverkusen over 2-4, leaving that tie just about sorted.
On Wednesday, Jamie Vardy's late goal has left Leicester with a fighting chance against Sevilla in the second leg at the KP. They'll go into that one 1-2 down. Meanwhile, Juve scored two away goals at Porto that will make it difficult for the Portugeezers to get back into the tie.
Meanwhile, in the Europa League, United notched a very creditable away win at St. Etienne. They should be safely into the quarters on the basis of that. All in all, not a bad week for the English.
Your thoughts about it all, gentlemen?

Hi Bob
United's 1-0 win France was the second leg. United won 4-0 on aggregate
Today, Spurs blew it again at Wembley having Desmond staying for good. They played most of the match with ten men after the numpty Dele Alli got a red for an horrific challenge..
And Claudio gets the boot at the Champs.... Not fair in my book
My apologies, mate - I had forgot about that first leg win last week. Well done, you lot. Into the Quarters!
I agree with you about Ranieri. It would be one thing if they'd really gotten turned over by Sevilla. But 2-1!? They were still in it!
I thought it was harsh on Claudio After a creditable performance in Seville, but in all honesty I saw this coming after a poor run of form sees them fighting relegation a year after winning the Premier League and admitting that he's given players too many chances.
Delighted about United eliminating St. Etienne. United , however, progress only to the round of sixteen. Still a ways to go in this marathon competition.
