Another Saturday full of Foooter
Another Saturday in English Football has arrived. Our Bob can sit with his feet up with three points already in the bag after a 3-1 win for his beloved at St. Andrews last night. Today, my beloved will be looking for those same three points that would take them into the top four. The Ten O'clockers don't have a lot eye-popping fixtures but NBCSN will be at the home of the Champions for a six pointer vs Hull. Of course, there is a big one for the late match. The first of the two Merseyside/ North London match ups of the weekend. Liverpool host Arsenal in a match that is must win for both sides.
We here at LOB will be one short with MUR off being a great dad... best of luck Melanie

Morning, mate - thanks for posting an excellent image and thread to get us started. Some great matches on tap today. I'm really looking forward to it.
Morning Bob
All these matches this weekend are the reverse fixtures of the opening day of the season.
Luke Shaw finally gets a game
Rooney starting as well
United haven't lost in the league since SEPTEMBER!!!
They have actually lost only ONE game in all competitions and that was a 2-1 loss to Hull in the EFL Semi Final second leg. United didn't need to win that and didn't push the equalizer
Quite a run... but I am not thrilled with their play.
I promise to be positive today
Eddie Howe is sick and may make it to Old Trafford for the game.... this could be the reason
It's enough to make Eddie Howe sick.
Bournemouth's 2017 record (most recent results first):
LOST, LOST, LOST, LOST, DRAWN, LOST, LOST, DRAWN
The Line Ups
Manchester United: de Gea, Valencia, Jones, Rojo, Shaw, Carrick, Pogba, Mata, Rooney, Martial, Ibrahimovic. Subs: Smalling, Lingard, Blind, Rashford, Romero, Ander Herrera, Fellaini.
Bournemouth: Boruc, A.Smith, S.Cook, Mings, Daniels, Arter, Surman, Fraser, King, Pugh, Afobe. Subs: Gosling, Gradel, B.Smith, Allsop, Wilshere, Ibe, Cargill.
The teams are coming out on the hallowed turf now.
Absolutely true, mate - Bournemouth are in free fall.
Players coming out of the tunnel at Old Trafford... I have never liked the corner tunnel by they way
They really need to update the The Bobby Charlton Stand. It used to the be the big stand but now it is the only one tier stand. It doesn't really fit with the rest of the three sides and corners. There are building restrictions because of the train tracks but the should be able to figure something out!
COME ON UNITED... make my morning funny and jolly!
Eddie looks healthy enough - nice handshake with Jose there.
Mr. Sicky is in the stadium... getting lovey with Jose... trying to get him sick
Bournemouth get us underway then, wearing all blue. United in their traditional kits.
Away we go... COME ON MAN U, COME ON MAN U, COME ON MAN U
"Possibly just catarrh...."
Start fast
Score early and often
Early chance for Rooney there - didn't really get over the ball with the header. Over the bar.
ooh... close by United. Rooney heads over. Probably had time to bring it down! Bugger
I was thinking the same line... you made me lol
Bournemouth almost sneak in. That ball almost went past him
Good first tackle from Shaw
I really hopes he turns the corner
I don't really understand the idea of a testimonial match before a player retires. Especially these days when players make mega millions.
We are hard wired with the Monty Python routines, aren't we?
Jones goes down but no foul is called. United complain but the Cherries get the corner... a short one... don't get it!
BUGGER... Pogba breaks.... just wide... saved
Oh - now it's Pogba running to a nothing ball out of defense. Good save by Artur Boruc.
Oh - another chance. United are all over the Cherries. You can see why they've been losing. Their defense is hopeless.
We certainly are... it comes naturally
United almost in again... I like it
Cooks put one out for a needless corner.
Spring looks like it has arrived in Manchester
Of course, it arrived in Scotia last week and then it buggered off... BLOODY FREEZING HERE
United with another corner... a decent delivery again but no one is attacking the ball
Mata got in behind the defense, but was offside.
Mata now makes a run... saved but offside anyway
I am an old fogie but I hate all the passes in the back.
Bloody hell... United should have scored again... Rooney could have gone himself but passes to Ibra.. miscontroled!
NOW Bournemouth break...he slips...phew
End to end stuff there from United and Bournemouth. Could have been goals at either end if the players had had better touches.
This is what I like
Chances being created... now we have to convert one!
Don't want Boruc to have a blinder like a lot of other visiting keepers
Harry Arter picks up the game's firs yellow for a bad slide in on Carrick.
STRUTH... IBRA WAS TWO INCHES OUT... great run by Martial
How have United not scored yet - Zlatan again fluffs his lines from about 2 yards out.
Where would United be in the table if they had won games that we totally dominated and got draws at home
Burnley, West Ham, Stoke and Arsenal... all were draws but all should have been wins...that's 8 more points to total
We'd be challenging Chelsea.... that's what wins leagues
I like the attacking United are doing
Can't believe Zlatan has missed those TWO scoring chances
This is one problem with this United side... the don't score enough. They don't crush teams
BLOODY HELL.... WHEN ARE WE GOING TO SCORE!!!
Now it's Martial....saved by Boruc.
If we don't score soon it is going to be one of those days
United are one of the worst teams with corners. They are never dangerous
David Gower, the ex-English cricketer played many years for Leicestershire so he started supporting the Foxes but who did he really support?
Hope Shaw is ok
Hope the Cherries guy is too... I don't want Wilshire to come on
GOAL! Finally! And it's Rojo with a rare one.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rojo with United's first!!
Came after another pisspoor corner
Valencia with a shot but directed in by Rojo
And it's an indication of United's dominance that it was their right back who was in the center forward position when Valencia's scuffed shot came in. Redirected it past Boruc.
1-0 United!
A slight delay now for treatment for several players.
Now United need to score many more
See my David Gower comment?
Wasn't it him that hit a four against the Aussies at Lords that came straight to us? We then threw it back to an Aussie player
Rooney playing well. He has found Zlatan or looked for him quite a few times but the Swede fluffed his lines
I'll bet Gower is a United fan, right?
Shaw down again
LEAVE HIM ALONE
Well, sort of right
He's a Leeds United fan
I think it was Gower, yes. I can remember Dennis Lillie coming over to the boundary, being offered a can of beer and cracking it open right there. Not sure that would happen again today.
Really? Well in, David.
He always had a posh accent, so I had no idea what part of the country he was from.
From David G
"Having played cricket for Leicestershire [from 1975 to 1989], the obvious team for me to support was Leicester City, bless them," Gower told BBC Sport.
"But growing up, when I was a schoolboy watching football for the first time, Leeds United were the best team at the time - so obviously I had to support the best team.
"So the likes of Billy Bremner, Eddie Gray, Allan Clarke, Jack Charlton and Peter Lorimer were my favourites, although it was a very long time ago."
I wish United would keep pushing for more goals now - they're just knocking it about and ticking minutes off the clock. Boring.
That was the reason that I started supporting them - they were the best team in the early 70s.
Got that right Bob
This is my problem with this side
What on earth - Bournemouth has a penalty. Phil Jones dived in.
Josh King to step up now at the Stretford End....
And scores! 1-1.
Why did you leave your feet... MORONIC
All this attacking
All these chances
Now all tied
You're right - there was no reason for Jones to dive in there.
No need for this - United should be 2 or 3-0 up.
Oh - Zlatan nearly scored there, Boruc pawing it away.
Roon with another chance...saved
Another keeper on song
Ibra is has knocked someone down
Is he getting a second yellow?
Zlatan is in trouble now - had a clash with Mings.
I think he is going to go
Long talking to here between Kevin Friend and Zlatan.
No yellow card now - Boruc is livid about it. And I think Friend is just blowing the whistle.
Ref taking an age... chatting with Rooney... no yellow... United lucking out.... Bournemouth is down to ten
Ibra did elbow...he should have been off
Now Serman has been shown the second yellow and is off. Bournemouth down to ten men. This is a complete shambles!
I agree - Zlatan is a very lucky chappy.
Wonder why there was a second yellow there
Ref didn't know it was a second
Zlat will be suspended for that elbow any way
Playing against ten is going to be tough
Zlat was paying back the bloke that stepped on his head
I would take him off
Another chance missed
Half time
United started great... now it is same old same old
Zlat will be out of the Chelsea FA Cup match.
I guess he will be rested for the Europa League matches
Will United struggle against ten men again and fizzle out
Off we go
United should not play the possession game... they should attack
Back for the second half now - all to play for.
Another stupid foul by Jones... free kick chance for the Cherries
I would agree with you - I'd have Rash on early and give Zlat a nice cold shower.
Comes to nothing
United win a free kick... take it short!!
AND lose possession
Pogba doesn't want to cross it... attack fizzles out
Why is the cross a dying part of the game?
There aren't enough out and out strikers for a crossing game to still work.
For example, if Arsenal ever cross the ball into the box, who's going to be there to meet with with a header, unless it's Giroud during his ten minute cameo at the end of the match?
United are making much heavier weather of this match than needed. The Cherries just aren't very good.
That must be it
Gone are days of a striker partnership
Oh - Rooney on the turn, shot deflected over.
I think that's it. Very few teams play a 4-4-2 at this point.
This much worse than it should have been
Started off so well
COME ON ... SHOOT
Pogba does... another fine save by the visiting keeper
We better score soon
I'll take a match like last night
1 up 1-1 win 3-1
Josh King picks up a yellow card to add to his goal.
Carrick in the book for tugging the bloke back
Sorry - it was Carrick not King.
Why are United doing this every week!!
So infuriating!!
I can imagine - United should have put the Cherries away in the first ten minutes. They were rampant!
Pogba tries to do too much but wins a free kick
Pogba or Zlat or Roon
Looks like the Swede because of last week
Ibra straight into the wall... bugger
Zlatan knocks a desultory free kick into the wall. He seems bored.
Bring on Rashford but not for someone else that would score
Less than 30 minutes... COME ON
And now Bournemouth are starting to get a bit more adventurous, as if they think that they can steal a win here. Cheeky Cherries!
Jose about to make ALL three substitutions
Rashford, Fellaini and Lingard to come on
I bet he takes off Martial, Mata and Rooney
Double change now - Rash and Hair Bear to come on.
Come on Man U
Come on Man U
Come on Man U
Rooney Shaw and Carrick to come off?
Well at least Martial will play 90 minutes!
I like two of those but would like to have Shaw play the full 90
Stop just passing the ball around... go forward
Penalty to United - dead on handball there.
PENALTY!!
United want a handball called... it was !!
Gosling picks up a yellow for the infraction.
Zlatan to take - this would put him level on 17 goals...
Saved!
Zlat to take?
Yes, he's got the ball in his hand
BLOODY HELL!
Bloody Norah!
Again... why can't keepers have a Tiabi Day at OT
Good save - can't really blame Zlat for that.
Looks like Valencia is going to have to come off. And United have made all their subs!
Rash wins a corner.
Nine men to defend a corner so United go short
Under 15 to go
There will be plenty of time added too
Lots of injuries and a bigwig needs a goal
Now it's Harry Arter in trouble. He might go!
Is After going to be sent off.. I don't think he will
He's bring over the captain to tell him that is it...no more
Kevin Friend lets him off. Should have gone off.
That very well could have been red
Useless by Pogba
So frustrating again for me... SIGH
United still trying to pass the ball around too much
Rashford in the book now
Kevin Friend does find his yellow card again - for Rashford.
If the ref adds 30 seconds for all the yellows and red and injuries.... we'll be playing here for an extra ten minutes
This is all a bit sad now. I can't believe that United are going to blow two points on this match.
Pogba really annoys me
United are not throwing the kitchen sink
The quality of the ball in the box is atrocious
Useless by Martial then the waste of money Pogba
Not pleased how Rashford has played today
Pogba annoys me too - he's not an attacking option at all. He sits deep and is essentially a second holding middle.
Ex Leeds man coming on
Gone are the days of.. Will Manchester United score... they always score
Where's Eric Cantona when you need him?
Now Mata can't cross... good run but where is the end product
Only five added?
Five minutes of stoppage time - not nearly enough.
United look clueless
Suddenly United players are showing some urgency. Where was that half an hour ago?
This set of United players let frustration get in the way and ruin it for themselves
NOT MUCH URGENCY.. JUST PASSING IT AROUND
I've moved seats...in your seat now
COME ON UNITED
STILL NOT GETTING IT IN THE BOX
Oh - Pogba. What a waste!
Pogba whiffs.... he sucks
89 million pounds!!!!
This is pathetic
That top four place is starting to fade.
SEVEN draws in fourteen games
WHAT THE HELL IS MARTIAL DOING
SHOOT THE DAMN BALL POGBA
That was not the touch of a 89 million player.
All over
Pathetic
Bugger. Sorry, mate. 1-1 at the final whistle. That's two wasted points for sure.
Boruc gives away goals last time out...at Old Trafford he's bloody Gordon Banks
The tannoy automatically comes on with "Glory, Glory..." Silly - they should only play that when United wins.
I am off for walkies in the frozen tundra
Enjoy your walkies, mate - that should clear your head.
That really changes the picture for the late match between fourth place Arsenal and fifth place Liverpool. Not as much pressure on them. I suppose you'd like to see a draw.
Just tried to get the audio working on the Soccer Saturday link - not working right now.
Just setting up to watch the relegation dogfight between reigning champs Leicester and Hull City. Should be a right old ding dong at the Foxes.
The team news for this one:
Leicester City: Schmeichel, Simpson, Morgan, Huth, Fuchs, Mahrez, Drinkwater, Ndidi, Albrighton, Okazaki, Vardy.
Subs: Chilwell, King, Amartey, Slimani, Zieler, Gray, Ulloa.
Hull City: Jakupovic, Elmohamady, Ranocchia, Maguire, Robertson, Huddlestone, Markovic, N’Diaye, Clucas, Grosicki, Niasse. Subs: Meyler, Hernandez, Elabdellaoui, Maloney, Diomande, Marshall, Tymon.
Referee: Mike Dean (Wirral).
Leicester bounced back from the Ranieri sacking with a brilliant win against Liverpool in the week. Will they keep it up today?
I'll also obviously be watching the results out of the Championship closely. A lot of the top dogs are playing each other today, so draws would be the best results for us in Not a Big Club v. Norwich and later Huddersfield v. Newcastle.
Leicester definitely on top here and might have scored through both Albrighton and Morgan.
Troy Deeney has whistled his 99th League goal for Watford into the top corner of the Southampton net. Saints suffering a League Cup hangover already.
I am back from walkies and trying to thaw out sitting on Bob's chair!
Now I am going to try and tune in SS
Watford have taken the lead vs the Saints
Link on but now sound!
Do you have your link on? Do you have sound?
Swansea take the lead vs Burnley
Swansea bother the woodwork against Burnley, not once but twice. From a Sigurdsson free kick, a header’s glanced off the crossbar, then in the resulting melee, Mawson sticks out a boot and clatters a shot off a post.
Hull take the lead!
Welcome back, mate - I tried the link and the audio was corrupted. It crackles but never comes on.
GOAL! Sam Clucas, a former Leicester player, stabs home for Hull.
0-1!
And Llorente has continued his sparkling form by smashing home a header to lift Swansea into the lead against Burnley. More bad news for the Foxes.
Thats what I have. Hopefully it sorts itself out
The scores still come up!
Botom two the 92 playing today. 92nd Newport losing to 91st Orient 2-0 already
Hull would leap over Palace and Boro out of the relegation zone with a win today.
Sad that Orient are that bad these days. I remember going to see them back in the day.
Wednesday beating the Canaries at Hillsboro
Only goal so far in the Championship
Penalty for Burnley
Burnley tie it up
Not good for us - we need a draw in that one. A draw in the Fulham v. PNE match would be good, too.
Cambridge take the lead at the Abbey vs Colchester
Blades 2-1 up at Rochdale already
A Wednesday win would be that bad. It keeps Norwich away from the playoffs.... Wednesday are already there
Wednesday two up
I'd still like a draw, thanks.
Burnley have tied it up with Swansea from the penalty spot.
Fulham take the lead
That's not good
Sorry - you already posted that - I missed it.
Not good at all. We need draws today, lads!
