Another Big Day in the Premier League... And the CUP
So, another set of big matches across the Pond.
We start at Turf Moor, where Manchester United need to recover from their costly victory on Thursday to keep their push for Top Four going. They would be a point behind City with the derby coming up on Thursday if they get the win.
We also have a small matter of the 2nd FA Cup semi. Will it be blue vs red in the Final or a all blue affair.
Of course, I am a Palace fan for the late one as they visit Anfield
The numpties that run the game has decided to overlap all three games today. What are they thinking?

News out of the United camp... Rashford is on the bench as Rooney gets a very rare start up front
Thanks for getting us started - I'm making pancakes
Burnley's 11
Heaton, Lowton, Keane, Mee, Ward, Boyd, Barton, Hendrick, Brady, Gray and Barnes
United's 11
De Gea, Young, Baiily, Blind, Darmian, Fellaini, Herrera, Pogpants, Lingered, Rooney and Martial
on the bench for United
Carrick, Rashford, Romero, Miki, Shaw, Fosu-Men, Tuanzebe
Good morning , chaps. Elizabeth bought the Denny's brand of pancakes, but accidentally bought the cinnamon roll pancakes.
Former United trainee, Tom Heaton, had a blinder at OT when Burnley held us 0-0 to get one of their four away points of the season. They are in a slump and all of a sudden look like being sucked into a relegation battle.
Celtic are two up inside the last ten minutes in the Old Firm derby semi final
Celtic has still not a game domestically all season
Aston Villa has a crucial 1-0 lead inside the ten minutes in the Second City derby... not good for Harry Redknapp
Morning Boys
I remember Heaton's blinder well
Manchester United have scored just once in their last four league games at Turf Moor... Lou Macari in April 1976!!
AN unsuccessful debut so far for for Harry Reddie as manager of the Brummies as they trail 1-0 at Villa Park with a few minutes plus stoppage time remaining. That would leave the Blues two points above the drop zone with two matches remaining. Villa also have a former United traineee in goal in Sam Johnstone.
I don't get Jose resting Rashford
The team is coming off a game where they lost two players for the season and more
Show everyone that Rashford is up for the test
So, Rashford is going to play in the derby then not against Swansea?
Beat me to it. It looks like Celtic vs Aberdeen in the Final, which would be 1 vs 2. How predictable. The double for Brendan?
II agree, but unfortunately it may be the case.
NBC showing the run in...Liverpool and City look really easy...not United
The Toon play Ridsdale's lads tomorrow at SJP. A draw would clinch promotion for the Toon. A Toon loss would result in the Seagulls being Championship champions.
NBC has a behind the scenes show of their trip to England
Looks like a good watch
Wednesday at 5:30
Villa win the Brum derby
1-0
That Second City Derby is not even second rate.
Celtic win 2-0 in the Old Firm Derby in the Scots Cup semi and will face Aberdeen in 1 vs 2 in the Scots Cup Final
How are you going to be viewing today's matches?
I am going to have the Turf Moor match on the telly and watch the Semi on the computer
They watch the semi on the telly and Liverpool on the computer
What idiots decided to overlap all three of these matches?
I think I'm going to watch the FA Cup semi on a link since the matches overlap and to avoid watching the morons in the FOX studio.
Agreed. I'm watching the semi on the computer to avoid Lexi and Co.
Did you all know that United vs the Swans is a noon kickoff GDT. Kickoff would be 6 AM my time. Should I be a loyal United fan and watch live or get the extra kip?
This season's version... have some extra kip!
Just like last Sunday, I promise to be Mr. Positive today
Football all midweek this week
Tues, Wed and Thurs
De Gea is going to be leaving over the summer... bloody Real!
He put his house up for sale this week
They said earlier that Pickford is likely to come... I'd give Kasper a shot
I'm back with some hot flapjacks!
Pickford is young and has potential, but I would pick Kasper as well.
Well done. Elizabeth is getting ready to make some too.
Teams in the tunnel at Turf Moor.... Here they come
Come on Wayne.... bag a brace
I still don't like the teams walking out together... that is for Internationals and Cup Finals... have the teams run on the field and get a big clap
Andy Townsend and Peter Dreary on the mics.
Come on, United!
They're off from Turf MOOR.
COME ON UNITED!
We are off
Looks like Martial is in the middle and Rooney out left
Pog Pants rolling around off a trip from Andy Gray.
Oof! Welcome to the match, say Burnley cloggers. Should have bene a yellow there.
Of course, United mostly struggle at home this season. Maybe we will be okay today
United still undefeated since the hammering at the Bridge in October (also lost at home to City and away at Watford)
Is this the least impressive undefeated streak of all time
Gained one place in the table
Pogpants fouled...hope he is okay
United have a chance to get the ball in the box...no.... let's go backward and lose possession
Former United trainee, Robbie Brady volleys wide off a long free kick that was headed on to him.
We need to do better against the Brady bunch.
Oh - how did that not go in from Rooney? Heaton somehow scrambled it back.
Rooney with a chance... such a weak effort!!
INSIDE THE SIX... bloody hell
OH!!! Roon has a soft close range shot easily saved by Heaton off a well worked possession.
United knocking it about easily in the sunshine at Turf Moor.
Matty Lowton heads out for a United corner.
Hair Bear heads straight to Heaton off the corner.
Oh - now it's Fellaini with a free header. Heaton stops it again. Kate is musing that Hair Bear's headers are too cushioned because of his fro and that it he had my hairstyle the headers would have more impact off the forehead. What do you think of Kate's commentary?
Palace host Burnley in the late match next week. The winner should be just about safe.
Nice block by Daley Blind from the shot.
That's a fair pint from Kate. How would Jose, the Grumpy Bear, react to that?
More nice work from Blind there - is he playing in the back four?
Pogpants makes a good turn and run then passes to Rooney...a weak pass by Roon ruins the chance
Has Rooney just completely lost all touch and skill?
Blind blocks a shot from Hendrick off a solo run for a Burnley corner.
Maybe Jose should shave Hair Bear's head? That would surely make him smile.
Ben Mee Heads over off the corner from a difficult angle.
Kate prefers Burnley's collared shirts to United's collarless ones. Your thoughts, gents?
Yash wins a corner off a one two with Herrera.
That's poor form. United always gets preference.
Jose would love that. The Grumpy Bear hasn't smiled much this season.
Roon was not too far over off that run and pass from Lindy.
I would prefer collars!!
United need to sign Cantona again so they are forced to have the collar
Rooney with a useless cross
Where is your hunger to play Wayne?
Kate says that Burnley's are not Cantona Collars!
I have no idea who I want to win the Cup
Don't want Chelsea to win the Double
Don't want Pep to win a trophy
Don't want Arsenal to win the Cup more times than United
Hair Bear seems to be begging for a card.
GOAL! Lovely romping goal on the break. Martial with the final finish but it was a true team goal.
0-1!
GOAL !!!! UNITED KARATE CHOP THEIR WAY TO THE LEAD ON A SPEEDY COUNTER.
YES!!!!
Martial with a great counter attack... move over Lou Macari
If I could have one criticism, I think Martial should have hit it first time instead of taking it a touch.
He's stealing my facts!!
Now United need to score more!
It was a counter off that Burnley free kick that was cleared to Kung Fu Panda. It was lovely to see Barton showing his age by not even be close to keeping up with the counter. a one two with Herrera resulted in a shot being karate chopped past the stranded Heaton.
Jeff Hendrick concedes a free kick to United.
That goal was just simply a one-two between Martial and Herrera
Lou was short for Luigi. That's a fact.
Pace, movement and numbers up front make a difference. Who knew?
So right now United are one point behind City but three goals having played the same number games
They are 3 points behind Liverpool with a game in hand... but 6 goals behind... GOALS MATTER
I believe you.
Stupid foul by Fellaini... just play smart!
Comes to nothing
He's begging for a card and not every one of his fouls will result in a counter that leads to a United goal.
It was lovely to see Barton being exposed and showing that he's not up to the pace of top flight footie any longer.
Line ups from Wembley
Reds
Cech, Gabriel, Kosc, Holding, Ox, Ramsey, Xhaka, Monreal, Ozil, Sanchez, Giroud
Blues
Bravo, Navas, Kompany,Otamendi, Clichy, Yaya, Fernandinho, De Bruyne, Silva, Sane , Aguero
Cup Final is late this year
May 27th... Memorial Day weekend
Pogpants caught in possession
I thought he was good
It seems as if the season is running late this year, probably because the WC and Euros are not being played this summer.
United still making it difficult... still only one goal up
Three at the back for the Gunners?
First time Arsenal and City have met in the Cup for 46 years!
The Gunners won at Maine Road 2-1 in the 5th Round on the way to the Double
United still giving away STUPID fouls
Pogba fouls Barton in free kick territory.
I expect Citeh to win today and predict a double for Chelsea.
One of these free kicks are going to come back and bite them...please play smarter
Agreed. United have been riding their luck.
Fox showing video of players kicking about on the pitch
Surely the teams are back in the dressing room reading to come out
THEY SUCK
What is the World Cup going to be like???
YES!!!!!!!!!!
ROONEY SCORES UNITED'S SECOND!!
GOAL! Rooney at the ready! He squeezes in United's second after some sterling work from Martial.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!! ROON PUTS UNITED TWO UP WITH A SCRAPPY GOAL, BUT THEY ALL COUNT.
Pogba's having a better match than I've seen him have recently. Someone's lit a fire under him.
Of course you do, mate. Of course you do.
It all started with a free kick, but this time a United free kick. It culminated in a French connection as a slide rule pass from Pogba found Kung Fu Panda, who karate chopped a shot off of Heaton and Roon scrambled the rebound through a narrow gap at the near post and it was not cleared off the line in time.
Great turn and shot from Gray.
Watching the semi on the link and the Prem match on the telly.
Pep's only match at Wembley was the CL Final against United
Wembley looks good but don't know how it sounds... still in the bloody studio... Why don't they change their ways
A pair of minutes of stoppage time at Turf Moor.
And off from Wembuhlay
At half time, I will switch it over for 15 minutes even though my TWC link is strong... it is delayed
Fox, sadly, never will.
I'm going to turn over now.
half time
So far so good
United are two up at the half.
My link is almost a full minute behind
Citeh, as expected, doing all the early attacking.
I'm using the PIP function on my telly.
Martial's goal has cost Man U 8.5 million pounds!!
His 25th United goal triggered an extra payment to Monaco!
He also has 15 Cap.. when he he gets to 25 United owe 8 Mill more... who signed that deal???|
BLOODY LVG
Might be worth it if it gets you into the Champions League slots.
Kos clears for a Citeh corner
United need a few more goals today
Two behind City
I blame LVG , not United. Great fact checking, UWS.
Not much happening at Arch so far
First decent chance for the Arsenal. Cleared out.
Oh - Sane with a header that Cech had to claw out.
Both sides get a header on target
Both easy saves... even for Bravo
Giroud heads a cross from the Ox straight to Bravo then Citeh attack and Cech tips over a header.
Back over to Turf Moor.... COME ON UNITED... extend your lead!!
Goals are crucial
Sean Dyche is forced into a change as the injured Ben Mee is replaced by James Tarkowski
COME ON UNITED!
SCORE MORE.
City passing it around in their box... I hate that crap!!
Semi not the same kind of match as yesterday
Come on Pogpants... score a goal
Arsenal have it in the net. Koz is ruled off side.
Kos has a goal disallowed for offside.
You're watching the Cup still?
My link just had the ball hit the net
Raheem Sterling being prepared.
Sterling is on for the injured Silva
I'm watching both at the same time through the PIP function.
Sterling having to come on?
replacing Silva
Alexis gets the first yellow of the match for chopping down Fernandinho.
Sterling tries a dipping volley - just doesn't get it right.
Alexis booked for a rash challenge after that earlier one by Gabriel on Silva
Heaton does well to push away a long range effort from Pogba.
Michael Keane clears for a United corner.
Busy gathering the yard every now and then but it looks like I'm not missing much
Sane wins a free kick on a solo run.
Not too much missed.
Sane wins a corner off of Ox.
Aguero down off a foul from Kos.
Water break while Aguero is on the ground receiving treatment.
A second Burnley change as Gudmunsson is on for George Boyd.
Aguero back up and the semi resumes.
I have a feeling that this Cup semi final might go to penalties.
Matty Lowton is booked for a foul from behind on Roon.
It may be settled by one goal. Moire like a cagey CL match than a cup semi.
What did I miss?
Rashford coming on?
United really do need another goal
Have United created anything?
Now Citeh have it in the net and it's ruled out. Ball had run out.
Sterling thought he had given Citeh the lead but the cross from Sane was deemed to have curled out of play then back in. A tight decision.
Burnley haven't created anything so United don't really need more than they have.
Come on United!!!
The replay showed that the Gunners may be riding their luck.
Rashford coming on for Lingard
Rash on for Lindy.
That ball never went out of bounds on that City cross
Rubbish free kick goes out of play for a goal kick. The Gunners have to do better with those set pieces.
All I can remember is Heaton pushing away a long range effort from Pogba. Otherwise, naught from either team this half.
Did Rashford just hurt himself?
Seems Rash is okay
Rashford tries a run... should have crossed it early
Navas holding in the box? Should that have been a penalty to the Gunners?
A minute of stoppage time at Wembuhlay
Citeh have a free kick
People keep complaining about the refs... how about the players stop cheating at every chance they get!!!
A wasted free kick from De Bruyne and it's 0-0 at the half.
HT at Wembley
Boring
United have kept Burnley in this with 15 minutes to go
GOALS MATTER
The final roll of the dice from Sean Dyche as Agyei is on for Ashley Barnes.
Pogpants blows a break chance... he is hopeless
Martial and Rashford should be good enough for United
They both need to play
Pogba talks himself into the box after he commits a foul.,
Keane heads well wide from the free kick.
Miki making an appearance
Coming on for Martial
WHY?
Miki is karate chopped on to the pitch. Kung Fu Panda had a solid outing, scoring the first goal.
I think he was tired and looked to have run out of gas.
Again, another goal here is crucial... we are still two behind City
Another one and a one goal win in the derby would put United ahead
United would be 6 points ahead of the Gunners having played one more game
Five ahed of Everton having played two less
Rash does well.. that was saved... no corner given
Rash gets behind the Burnley defense and tries a shot from an almost impossible angle. It looked like Heaton got a touch, but the ref says goal kick,.
Roon wins a corner off of Gudmunsson.
No. It's a goal kick.
United keeping possession... don't they know about how goal work?
Pogpants shoots... just wide..hit the target
Pogba goes on a solo run and has a long range effort not too far off.
Now Pogpants is hurt?
Pogba is down after the shot as the second half is underway from wemberley.
Walking off
He's been subbed by Carrick
Now Herrera is hobbling... can you say MASH
Jose doesn't seem concerned
