Hurrah - it's Saturday Again!
I'm still glowing from that magnificent result at SJP yesterday evening. I'm settling in with the knowledge that Leeds have done their Good Friday business already. Now, we can all settle back and relax and enjoy the Premiership doings today. First up - Spurs at the Lane against Bournemouth. Then it's the 10am EST kickoffs including Palace v. Leicester and Watford v. Swansea. We end up with Citeh visiting Soton at the end of the day. Join me for all of the fun!

The NBC Sports Network crew is in Blighty this weekend. Robbie Mustoe and Kyle Martino has just had a feel of the pitch with Arrlo and Lee. Now Graeme Le Sox is having a pow-wow with Robbie Earle and Rebeeca Lowe in the pitch-side studio. Marvelous coverage!
The teams lining up in the tunnel now:
Tottenham Hotspur: Lloris, Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Davies, Dier, Dembele, Eriksen, Alli, Son, Kane.
Subs: Janssen, Wanyama, Trippier, Sissoko, Onomah, Wimmer, Pau Lopez.
AFC Bournemouth: Boruc, Adam Smith, Francis, Steve Cook, Daniels, Stanislas, Arter, Wilshere, Pugh, King, Afobe.
Subs: Gradel, Lewis Cook, Allsop, Fraser, Mings, Mousset, Cargill.
Referee: Michael Oliver (Northumberland)
Good morning, mate. I've got a pot brewing . Congratulations on that fantastic result yesterday,
Some good and bad news yesterday. The bad news is that Coventry were relegated to L2 yesterday while your Argyle are a mere point away from clinching promotion.
Morning fellas
I am here as the teams come out of the tunnel
Good morning, UWS> Great to have you on board.
Morning, chaps - hope you've had a great week.
NBC are great
Eddie Howe the last member of either coaching staff out of the tunnel. CHEEKY BUGGER!
We're about to kick off here at Shite Fart Lane. Both sides in their traditional kits.
We are off
Can Spurs keep the title going?
All the Spurs fans will be United fans tomorrow
Spurs come into this one five points ahead of Liverpool in second and trying to narrow the seven point gap with Chelski. It seems unlikely that they could win the title now with merely five matches left to play.
Kane has his first look at goal. His volley is deflected out for a corner.
WOW !!! Harry Kane is back as he has cooked himself a corner with that shot.
Another corner as Eriksen and Alli played a one two off a short corner.Wilshere clears for another
Oh - Erickson whipped in a great ball to the near post. Put out again. Three corners in a row and Bournemouth are feeling the heat.
Harry Kane offside off another one two from another short corner. They must have worked on that.
Bob will be interested to note that there is one lone Championship match today , hoping that Reading have the same thing happen to them at Villa Park that happened to them at CR last weekend.
That's my hope, too. We're in fourth ahead of that match. I'd like to stay there.
One lone L1 match , which is a local derby between Bolton and Oldham. A Trotters win inches therm closer to an immediate return to the Championship.
I think you host Wolves Monday. Is that correct?
Moussa Dembele lines up a cracking shot that turned aside by the excellent Boruc.
OH!!!! Boruc does well to keep out a powerful long range effort from Dembele. That would have been his first goal in 47 matches.
They're not technically safe yet but I can't see the Bees being dragged back into the relegation dogfight. They only need one more win from their remaining matches to be safe.
Adam Smith fouls Eriksen just outside the box. That doesn't sound very economical
The free kick from Eriksen is headed out by Josh King.
1-0 Spurs
GOAL !!! DEMBELE GIVES THE SPUDS THE LEAD.
GOAL! And Dembele has notched a collector's item!
Some loose defending from Bournemouth and Dembele rattles a volley home.
Yet another corner from Eriksen, but this time was back heeled across the box by Toby that seemed to fool the Cherries and Dembele blasted in at the far post for his first goal in 47 matches.
My Howe the Cherries will be upset with the defending from that corner.
2 NIL SPURS!!
GOAL! Son makes it 2-0. It's his fourth game in a row that he's scored. Spurs are humming!!!
This is repeat of the Watford game!!
GOAL !!! NUMBER ONE SON PUTS THE SPUDS TWO UP WITH A GREAT FINISH AND CELEBRATES WITH HIS CUSTOMARY HANDSHAKE WITH DELLE ALLI.
Again, wish United played at this pace and attacking
Spurs are the best form team in the Premiership now. If they'd played like this consistently throughout the season, they would be odds-on favorites for the title.
Agreed. It sure seems that way
It was a long possession by the home team. They lost the ball them immediately won it back. The ball broke to Harry Kane., who played through Number One Son and he nut megged the on rushing Boruc
Kyle Walker clears for the Cherries first corner of the match
A corner from Junior Stanislaus is cooked over the bar.
As for yesterday, great results for Pompey except for their own 1-1 draw
As for Leeds, they definitely needed something from yesterday's game. The way they got it was great but it is far too close for my liking in the table!!
One good thing is that the two teams that want to take Leeds spot are playing each other on the last day of the season....they both can't win
The Artery of the Cherries midfield is down on the deck off a challenge from Dembele.
Actually, not a bad result for Pompey considering they were playing the second placed team. Argyle are a point from clinching promotion while Pompey are five points away. Pompey Argyle will be playing each other in L1 next season.
Who do you think are still in danger going down
Sunderland and Boro already down?
Boro 24
Sunderland 20
What about the rest?
Who is still in danger?
Are Leicester, Stoke, West Ham and Burnley all safe on 36?
Bournemouth 35
Palace 34
Hull 30
Swansea 28
A Spuds cross is cooked out for a corner.
Hopefully Pompey only needs four points with a 9 goal advantage
Spurs have taken the foot off the gas now.
The big match will be Palace vs the Tigers in a couple of weeks. It seems that the Tigers and Swans are battling for that final relegation spot. All the teams above the Tigers are a win from safety, IMHO.
I am confident in Pompey. It will happen for them.
I'm banking on a draw from that Fulham v. Not a Big Club fixture on the last day. We only have four matches left and we're three points up. I think we'll just about make it. We need to muller Wolves on Easter Monday for sure.
I think it is a two horse race too
How the mighty have fallen as Coventry were relegated to L2 yesterday.
Best scenario is go about Reading
But finishing fifth isn't that bad either
Don't want to finish sixth though
By the time Not a Big Club come to your house everything may be decided. Just to let you know all the Championship matches on the final day will be played Sunday May 7th and will be noon kickoffs. Your thoughts?
Oh - great play through Kane to Erickson who just couldn't get over the ball as it sat up.
Boruc pushes around a shot from Eriksen off a pass from Harry Kane.
Spurs with a bloody short corner
I just don't get it
You have a free kick. The opposition can't attack the ball
The ball is standing still
No....let's pass it around and let them try and tackle me!
OH!!!! Just over from Erksen off a pass from Number One Son off a great Spuds possession.
Number One Son shoots straight at Boruc off a pass from Eriksen.
I agree with Mustoe for once - Bournemouth are letting Spurs a bit too much here. Another great chance there.
I agree, UWS. Unfortunately modern managers are obsessed with Opta stats that show that possession is all important. Traditional corners risk giving the ball away, so too many play it short and just maintain possession.
Adam Smith down off an awkward landing. That type of economics sounds like bankruptcy.
Fulham's run in
Villa H
Huddersfield A
Brentford H
Wednesday A
Wednesday's run in
QPR A
Derby H
Ipswich A
Fulham H
Leeds
Wolves H
Burton A
Norwich H
Wigan A
Advantage Leeds and Wednesday
Did you see my comments posted at 806 about the final day of the Championship season?
A pair of minutes of stoppage time.
Reading
Villa A
Rotherham H
Forest A
Wigan H
Burton H
They'll make it
Definitely advantage Leeds with that schedule. Sounds like Bob , Kate , and Not a Big Club will be battling for that final playoff spot.
Reading in a playoff spot with a negative goal difference. Would they really survive in the Prem?
Well, that was easy. Spurs troop in 2-0 up at the Lane. It could have been four or five.
The dominant Spuds are two up at the half.
Half time
Easy peasy for Spurs
Robbie Mustoe going bananas in the booth.
The second half is underway from SFL.
Oldham vs Bolton is 0-0 at the half. If that result holds then the Evil Blades are L1 champs.
Superb slide tackle in midfield by Eric Dier on Josh King , showing which is the more committed side.
GOAL !!! HARRY KANE PUTS THE SPUDS THREE UP.
The ball was won in midfield. Several passes later, Delle Alli was played down the right. His pass was collected by Harry Kane , who turned away from his marker and tucked it away in the corner.
Back with a bagel to see Harry Kane notch his 20th goal. Two consecutive 20-goal seasons now for Kane - only Shearer, Henry, and RVN have done that. He'll be England's main striker for some years to come.
Great stat, mate. Agreed and perhaps he will catch the Chunk in the scoring race.
Oh - Kane was in goal and hit it straight at Boruc. He should have had his brace there.
In the loo for Spurs third
I am in the Spurs corner for the League.... and the Cup
And again - could have been HK's hat-trick. What are the Bees playing at?
Talking about scoring race, Harry Kane should have scored as he was put through by Eriksen, but his scuffed shot was easily saved by Boruc as it was on the next possession, except he was put through by Number One Son this time.
What was Robbie Mustoe doing in the booth
Spurs fans are cheering former Gunner Wilshere getting injured - rather unsporting.
Oh - Dele Alli was in there. How many chances are Spurs going to get?
Welcome back, UWS. That sounds familiar.
Great block by Simon Francis for a corner.
No need to cheer an injury despite Wilshere being on loan from the Gunners as he's replaces by twenty year old Lewis Cook.
Two many Cooks spoil the broth or has that ship sailed?
Is is safe to say you've done to the bagel what the Spuds have done to the Cherries?
Lewis Cook is another LUFC Academy player who we let go to a Premiership side just as he was coming through the senior team. Shame.
Junior Stanislaus fouls Delle Alli just outside the box.
Absolutely, mate. Asiago bagel with chive and onion smear. Done and dusted.
Straight into the wall by Eriksen
Despite that Leeds are in a playoff spot. Lewis Cook and MAx Gradel can talk about the good old days at ER on that Cherries subs bench.
Boruc with another comfortable save from Harry Kane.
Dier has a shot blocked for a corner.
That's the problem - very few of our players sold off have done well elsewhere. Gradel? Becchio?
Afobe clears the corner from Eriksen.
The jury is still out on Sam Byram.
Great tackle by Artrer for another Spuds corner taken short. Boruc does well to push away a long range effort.
Still Oldham 0 Bolton 0 as the Evil Blades are about to clinch the L1 title. Sorry, mate.
Wee Ryan on for Stanislaus. Why didn't he start as he's in great form?
Son now on the volley. Not a lot of power and Boruc saves easily.
Boruc saves a volley from Number One Son.
Why can't United create this many chances and be so dangerous
First yellow of the day goes to the sub Fraser.
Wee Ryan is the first player this match booked and just a minute after coming on. A wee bit over aggressive on Ben Davies.
United still a work in progress?
Number One Son is flagged offside as the ball broke to him with just the keeper to beat
I agree - if you were to match up the United players with their Spurs counterparts, the Spurs players are just better in most cases.
Not sure what the best 10 Amer is. I guess Palace vs the Foxes , being shown on NBCSN.
I agree as well. United have their work cut out for them.
Hugo Lloris gets a big ovation for his first save of the day. I thought he'd gone off for an Easter Egg Roll.
Ben Davies wins a Spuds corner.
Now it's Ben Davies with a pop at goal.
That corner from Eriksen was over COOKED . Then Boruc easily saves a long range effort from Ben Davies.
United, despite all their draws, still have a shot of finishing in the top four but the problem is they host Chelsea and also go to the Emirates and White Hart Lane... also play red hot Palace on the last day
BOOM BOOM! Jose would have said that he was taking a nap.
Afobe goes off to be replaced by a new signing Mousse.
The final roll of the dice from Eddie Howe as Mousset is on for Afobe.
I don't think United will win the EL
They don't kill off teams and one of these days it will come back and bite you
Anderlecht could score on Thursday and United could be screwed
United should have won the first leg at a canter
Also the Manc Derby on the 27th. I don't see United finshing in the top four with that schedule. I think they and the Gunners will finish in EL spots./
Wanyama on for Harry Kane as Mo Po shuts up shop.
I agree, UWS. I think United will eliminate Anderlecht, but could see them losing in the semis.
Me too
Next week's schedule
Saturday FA Cup Semi is the London derby at 12:15
The league matches are
Bournemouth Boro
Hull Watford
Swansea Stoke
West Ham Everton
All 3 o'clockers
Sunday's matches
9:15 Burnley Man U
11:30
Pool Palace
Cup Semi
10
Not liking United's match the same time as Arsenal City
Of course, love to see WBA and Southampton get wins this weekend in their home matches
True about too many draws aren't as good as they sound
Ten match streak
Draw ten... ten points
Win five, lose five... 15 points
Into stoppage time as the Spuds are cruising to another victory.
Four nil!!
Just like Watford!!
GOAL! Blimey - Vincent Jansson has got in on the goal action.
4-0 Spuds!
GOAL !!!! VINNY JANSSEN SCORES HIS FIRST PREM GOAL FROM OPEN PLAY . IT WAS A SHORT CORNER . HIS IN INITIAL SHOT WAS SAVED BY BORUC THEN HE SMASHED HOME THE REBOUND
The gap is FOUR
COME ON UNITED
The Spuds thrash the Cherries 4-0
Full-time - The North Londoners continue to keep Chelski honest at the top. Four points back now.
Nice camera work there!!
Do Spurs have a chance?
Ten man Oldham with a shock 1-0 lead vs Bolton in stoppage time as the Evil Blades clinch the L1 title.
Yes. They are four points behind Chelsea and it will stay that way if United win tomorrow. It should be quite a cup semi between those two.
A great win for Oldham , who are now six points clear of the drop zone with three matches remaining. Really disappointing for Bolton, who are only four points clear of Fleetwood Mac and Bradford City , but remain in second place.
Off to take Sparky walkies.
Just about set for the 10am kickoffs now. Here's the team news out of Selhurst Park in the one against Leicester on NBC SN:
Crystal Palace v Leicester
Crystal Palace: Hennessey, Ward, Kelly, Sakho, Schlupp, Milivojevic, Cabaye, Townsend, Puncheon, Zaha, Christian Benteke. Subs: Speroni, Van Aanholt, Flamini, Campbell, McArthur, Sako, Delaney.
Leicester: Schmeichel, Simpson, Benalouane, Huth, Fuchs, Mahrez, Ndidi, King, Albrighton, Vardy, Ulloa. Subs: Chilwell, Drinkwater, Musa, Amartey, Okazaki, Zieler, Gray.
Referee: Mike Dean.
Back for the 10 AMers
They're off from Vicarage Road.
And now from Selhurst Park.
And we're away at Selhurst Park. Can Leicester continue their remarkable run of wins or can Palace continue their fine form, which saw them win at Chelski.
A key match in the Championship as the Reading Railroad travels to Villa Park. Bob will be hoping for some help from Brucie's lads./
Pickford did well to turn around a curling free kick from Lanzini.
Beneteke heads well wide off a Palace corner.
Not a lot of barnburners on the docket today, is there?
Miss all the matches in the lower leagues too
GOAL!!
Champs are ahead
GOAL !!! ANDY AYEW GIVES THE HAMMERS THE LEAD AT THE SOL. FAR TOO EASY
GOAL! Huth has continued the Leicester renaissance by nodding home from a routine long throw.
0-1!
GOAL ROBERT HUTH GIVES THE FOXES AN EARLY LEAD AT SELHURST PARK.
I agree with you, UWS. It's not the best schedule today. I may well forgo the late one in favor of getting ahead on some work.
Did I just hear the fans sing
We know who we are
We know who we are
Champions of England
We know who we are
They should have been called champions more often this season
A pub level. So basic as Huth headed in a long throw from Fuchs as he was given the freedom of Croydon.
Everyone were in the Palace corner for this one
Beating Arsenal and Chelsea in a week and Leicester having Madrid on their minds
Agreed. A win should clinch safety for the Foxes.
They haven't played like champions, sadly. They were so insistent on getting rid of Ranieri that they all went on strike. I'm sick of Leicester - they're dead to me.
BUGGER!!! Jaap's chaps take the lead at Villa Park.
Reading take a really early lead at Villa Park
Arnautovic misses a sitter and chance to put the Potters two up vs the Tigers. I wasn't aware that they had scored a first
Stoke take lead vs Hull
Arnautovic had scored that first Potters goal.
The Swans nearly took the lead at Vicarage Road , but a header from a free kick skimmed the top of the net.
Jason Puncheon called for hand ball. Not much he could have done about that. Sako clears the free kick for a Foxes corner.
West Ham leading at the Stadium of Dark times
Villa have tied it up
WAY HAY!!! VILLA TIE IT UP VS THE READING RAILROAD.
James Chester, the former Baggie and Tiger, with the goal.
Like to see a Burnley win at Goodison
An Everton win would put Everton above United.. having played three more games.. those game though are away to Soton and City and home to Chelsea
Great close range save by Kasper from Beneteke.
Great save by Peter's boy from Benteke
Agreed. That would be a great result.
Talking about that match, Burnley nearly took the lead. Barkley clears a header from Michael Keane off the line from a free kick
I'd take a 1-1 between Reading and Villa.
Burnley have yet to win a league match on their travels this season.A mere four points from their away matches.
I think Villa could actually win this and Reading have one day less rest than the rest of the challengers.
No, you want a Villa win
Motherwell two up vs Nessie.
Agreed, UWS. Can Villa win at Bob and Kate's on Monday?
So far so good for Swansea, though: Hull are losing, Sunderland are losing, Crystal Palace are losing, and they’re playing well at Watford. No goals yet, but plenty of encouragement
Never a foul on Kasper
Bob could be a real Brucie fan for the next couple of days!!
Niasse, on loan from the Toffees , misses a sitter for the Tigers, shooting wide with just the keeper to beat
He and Kate should provide him great hospitality. I'm guessing he loves to eat
My Fotmob is acting up today
Keeps sending me updates of things over and over again
KNOCK IT OFF
Nessie pulls one back at Motherwell while Aberdeen take the lead at St. Johnny.
Hibs takes the lead vs Queen of the South. If they win and Falkirk fail to defeat St. Mirren then they clinch a return to the SPL.
GOAL !!!KHAZRI SCORES DIRECTLY FROM A CORNER TO TIE IT UP FOR THE BLACK CATS VS THE hAMMERS. THEIR FIRST PREM GOAL IN EIGHT MATCHES.
I've always been a Brucie fan, mate!
Steve or Forsyth, mate?
Ndidi heads out for a Palace corner.
The corner from Townsend eludes everyone.
Simpson picks up a yellow card for blocking Zaha.
