It's a momentous day, gents, with so many things on the line that I can barely keep track of them. First, Sunderland must beat Bournemouth or they'll be relegated. More importantly, though, Leeds must win at home to Norwich or our playoffs hopes are all over. We still have an outside chance, but we need two wins. We also need Fulham and Not a Big Club to lose today. It's a long shot, but I've got my lucky Leeds shirt (summer edition) on for the full-on-mojo. No early match today, so I'm well rested for the match. Come on, you Whites!!!!

Just beat me to the post Bob
I had an appropriate picture to post
I changed it
Forget the Premier League.......
All mojo being focused at Elland Road!!!!!!
Good morning, Bob and Dave. Here to join you well rested thanks to the late start. I like the Canaries and usually root for them, but their season is done and dusted so
COME ON YOU WHITES!
A few days ago I read that Leeds colors were blue until Don Revie took over and changed them to white to match Real, feeling that psychologically it would make them feel like winners. It seemed to have worked at that time.
Morning MUR
I think Leeds were blue and yellow
Real was the idea behind the all white
While Fred is busy trying to steal Sparky's breakfast, he must realize that his Black Cats will probably be relegated today. I seriously doubt they will be Moyes Boys much longer.
Rangers got absolutely thrashed by Celtic this morning at Ibrox
The Hoops won 5-1
Good morning. Thanks for the clarification. Was it blue with yellow trim? I think that's what I remember.
I have got a link going for SS from a dodgy website but I am going to leave it on for the updates
No matches today in League 1
They finish their season tomorrow at Noon GMT
So, besides the Championship we have to pay attention to the penultimate week in L2... all eyes down the bottom....especially for Jeff Stelling
He had a rant last week wanting the Dave Jones to leave his post as manager. Jones left and Jeff stepped down from the board
They disparately need a win at Cheltenham who are four points ahead of them AND a Carlisle win vs Newport
The regular season finished for the National League with Abe Lincoln returning to the Football League after a six year absence. The key results were Aldershot defeating Braintree 2-0, which meant that Aldershot got the least playoff spot ahead of Dover and Braintree were relegated. York were held to Desmond vs Forest Green , which means two consecutive relegations for the former league club. Guiseley drew 1-1 vs Solihull Moors and Fawlty Towers defeated bottom club, North Ferriby United to clinch safety.
The playoffs in the National League for that second promotion spot will be:
Tranny vs Aldershot
Forest Green vs Daggenham
Braintree's relegation means no East Anglian Clubs next season unless one replaces them.
Why don't any American League League Clubs get a chance at promotion.?
Hartlepool fans traveling to Cheltenham in fancy dress... a tradition for their last away games of the season
Today... Mime artists.. Jeff said they haven't had much to cheer for anyway
It's East Anglia vs Yorkshire in the Championship. We're hoping for an Ippy win and a Canaries loss. The Cottagers will be hosting the Bees in a local Derby. The latest news is that Bob and Kate will not be attempting to get rid of six beehives around their house.
Morning, chaps - great to have you both on board for a momentous day. Yes - it's all focused on the Championship today. MOT!!
Absolutely, mate - come on, the Tractor Boys!
If Jeff was on the board it sounds like he was part of the problem. He should be apologizing to the fans.
Morning Bob... do you approve of the new picture...sorry for changing your original...I just had to
Thanks for the appropriate image. I didn't want to be immodest but it is that kind of day. I have the lucky Leeds shirt on and have been torturing Kate with a rendition of MOT.
Isn't Jeff on the Board of Directors at Hartlepool or something?
Blare it out Kate!!
COME ON BRENTFORD
COME ON IPSWICH
Leeds need to get the win and hope for help from these two
Remember, Wednesday host Fulham next weekend
Good morning, Bob.
other key matches involve the Second City as Reddie's Brum host the third place Terriers, needing a win while Blackburn host Villa, just behind Brum. The Seagulls win the Championship if they defeat Bristol City. That's not idle gossip. They could have won it yesterday , but the Toon won 0-2 in the Welsh capital.
He resigned this week after his rant and getting Jones axed
Shame that they're not showing any Championship matches on BEin right now, given that the Premiership is so rubbish today. Which match will you lot be watching?
Thanks for the Championship picture, MUR. Great stuff.
Not sure what to watch today
Southampton Hull on NBCSN
Sunderland Bournemouth on CNBC
Goal Zone is at SoL but it is never in HD.... oh the choices!!
Sunderland will be relegated:
If they lose AND Hull avoid defeat at Southampton
If they lose AND Swansea (who play Manchester United on Sunday) win
If they draw AND Hull win, The Black Cats could also be “on the brink” (12 points adrift with four games left) depending on results
Wigan travel to the Reading Railroad where they will be relegated today if they fail to win at the MAd Stad and /or Brum draw and Blackburn win.
I suppose I'll stick with NBCSN today. I've no interest in the later match, so I may just pedal over to work to grade some thesis papers.
Me neither. I will be doing some work around the house but I will be in Burnley's corner for that one
I may go to CNBC for SoL
The teams in the tunnel at St. Mary's now:
Southampton: Forster, Cedric, Stephens, Yoshida, Bertrand, Davis, Romeu, Boufal, Tadic, Redmond, Gabbiadini. Subs: Long, Rodriguez, Caceres, Ward-Prowse, Hojbjerg, Sims, Hassen.
Hull: Jakupovic, Elmohamady, Ranocchia, Maguire, Robertson, N’Diaye, Clucas, Markovic, Evandro, Grosicki, Niasse. Subs: Huddlestone, Hernandez, Maloney, Dawson, Henriksen, Marshall, Bowen.
Referee: Mike Dean.
I'll be paying more attention to SS on the computer
I may do both matches on PIP.
Cheers, Bob. Glad to help. Also posted about the National League, but not the American League
Gary Taphouse and Tony Gale on the microphones as Hull prepare to kick off wearing all black.
They're off from St. Mary's and the SOD.
I was listening to Talksport last night and they were having an argument if Spurs are moving or not
Some were staying they will be staying at WHL and a 1/3 or so of pitch will overlap
Others say it is a new stadium...and will not have ANY history
Your thoughts?
Struth... Bournemouth almost score inside the first minute
The winner of the late match is basically safe. Burnley on 36 points will be sucked into a relegation if they lose at Selhurst Park. Could go down instead of Hull or Swansea.
The Cherries win another corner after nearlyucatching a cat nap at the previous short corner.
As we kick off, here's the Championship playoff picture:
4. Reading - 79 points - + 1 GD
5. Not a Big Club - 78 pts - +15 GD
6. Fulham - 76 -+27 GD
7. Leeds - 73 - +12 GD
YIKES!!!! Celtic won 1-5 at Ibrox in the Old Firm Derby.
Poor clearance by Forster then Markovic is fouled just outside the Saints box.
Huddersfield have made 10 changes against Brum today...they've done it before and performed well
Some Villa fans have gone to Ewood wearing Blackburn shirts so Brum go down
Oh - Grosicki came so close from the free kick - off the Sunday Roast!
No goal in any division after 6 minutes
OH!!! Grosicki nearly gave the Tigers the lead with a curling free kick that shaved the outside of the post.,
Huddersfield we can't catch - I don't care about them now.
There has now... Reading 1 Wigan 0
I was saying that for Birmingham's benefit
There’s been an important goal in the Championship, and Wigan - who need to win if they are to survive - are already one down. Yann Kermorgant has put Reading ahead.
Not good for Wigan...or us.
The Black Cats were nearly caught out again at a short corner. Too many cat naps.
Birmingham get a penalty... Rubbish kick.. still 0-0
Wigan are our final opponents next Sunday. At their patch. At the moment, they're going down.
Why isn't the Championship on the telly? The Prem is tosh!
I think the West London Derby and the match at Pr are the priority matches besides the one at ER.
That would be good for you for them to go down already... or maybe not. Either nothing to play for and on the beach or players are nervous and play rubbish
oh no
Fulham 1 Brentford 0
Both teams playing well
There is probably a match on the link
Boruc fists out a swerving effort from BVorini on a Black Cats break
Reading currently level with Huddersfield on 82 points.
Not good . Some bee stings are needed./
Not good at all for us. Come on, you Whites!
Blackburn Villa is on Bein 3
Rotherham take the lead at Ridsdale's place. Too little too late.
Things were looking last week and it all turned pear shaped...now the opposite this week... just you watch
I had a feeling that it might come down to us or Not a Big Club.
Jeff isn't happy
Newport lead at Carlisle with their first shot
The Rams take lead vs the Wolves.
Derby one up vs Wolves
Wolves losing to everyone after the ER win!
That makes their match at Cheltenham all the more important.
I'm scared about collusion next weekend if a draw does both teams good
Motley Crew take the lead at already promoted Argyle.
what a geek I am
I have a Sund Bourn on TV, BBurn Villa on computer and SS on computer
I agree. I was thinking about that too. Championship matches are noon kickoffs next Sunday. I will be getting some extra kip that morning.
Well done, UWS.
The path may be two losses for Not a Big Club. Ipswich beating them today and Fulham beating them next weekend. Even if they had a draw today and lost to Fulham next weekend, we might just end up with better GD and pip them. I'm so nervous!
Cheltenham have taken the lead vs Hpool... Jeff looks downtrodden
You deserve a sausage roll for that, UWS!
Exeter take the lead at already promoted Donny Trump.
Doncaster losing as well as Plymouth
Does anyone want to win the division
I just saw Jeff taking a Conference call.
BOOM BOOM!
Sheffield Wed start the better team
Sounds like Sunderland are playing like dead men walking.
But Ipswich had the best chance and Wed not creating much
Leeds only just starting to play in front of a big crowd
Bournemouth hit the woodwork
The Cherries nearly took the lead. Josh King got behind the Black Cats so called defense then chipped the keeper but his shot came off the inside of the post and into the keeper's arms.
Bournemouth hit the bar and the post with the same shot! It’s an absolutely fabulous effort from Josh King, wide on the left, curling and dipping but not quite enough!
It was a great effort from King
Great chip hit the crossbar and then post
I'm sure that it's an immense crowd at Elland Road today. They will expect.
Leeds and Elland Road get a mention on CNBC... COME ON LEEDS...it's a sign
Gabby was offside but he missed anyway.
Marvelous!
A busy day for us on what is supposed to be our hottest day of the year with our type of July style heat. Elizabeth and Melanie have a scholarship luncheon to attend at the same time as the late match. This evening Elizabeth and I will be making a debut as we will watch our local USL team in action. Just discovered we have one.
Busy busy
Birmingham are down to ten men
Adams off for Serious Foul Play
Whoever he is.... what a numpty... are you Fellaini in disguise
Redknapp will be furious
Annan four up vs Montrose early on as both teams battle for a playoff spot in the Scots L2.
Inside 17 minutes
Sounds like you need to stay in and enjoy the air conditioning mate.
So, Brum miss a pen and now a red card.. off the ground two footed
Agreed. Reddy will be wondering why he got out of retirement.
What was Hair Bear thinking on Thursday?
Come on LEEDS!!!!
MORON
Added bonus is that he won't be in the side the next three games... but that means he will probably get to play in the semi
Orient already down and now down at home to Colchester
Will do until we go on a 45 minute ride to the match. Our RGY Toros are affiliated with the Houston Dynamo. They face the Oklahoma City Energy FC. Kickoff is at 730 PM> It should be cooler by then.It usually is in the Summer.
Tigers fans enjoying the day out in the sunshine at St. Marys.
Donny's tie up... Championship back on
Decent effort by Defoe... saved
Hair Bear willbe available for the last two league matches and the remaining EL matches. Wish he was out longer.
If United and City win tomorrow, by the time Liverpool kick off they could be in fifth
Oh Dear
One nil Norwich
Sorry mate
Again, things were looking rosy last week and it went sour...now the opposite
BUGGER! The Canaries take the lead at ER. Sorry Bob.
Derby 2 Wolves 0
Steven Naismioth with the goal past former Canaries keeper, Rob Green.
Not looking good for Bob and Jeff.
For the reasons stated , I may miss the early match since I will be getting back late. Sorry if I sound like a traitor , but it's going to be a long day, albeit enjoyable.
Montrose 4 down after 17 minutes....now down to ten men after 30 minutes
We called it about the Premier today...NO GOALS
No goals in the Premiership - the Match of the day producers are starting to get a wee bit concerned. I wonder if they've actually ever had a show with no goals!
YOu're going to miss the United match?
Wolves down to ten men as well being 2-0 down as well
OH DEAR
TWO NIL NORWICH... at the same time Brentford tie it up!
Cambridge take the lead vs Crawley
We're suddenly 0-2 down at Elland Road. Throwing it all away.
It's going to be a big, big ask right now. Come on, you Whites - dig this one out!
Already promoted Hibs, two up at bottom club Ayr, while St. Mirren take the lead vs Raith Rovers, which would see Helen move out of a relegation spot to be replaced by Raith.
Blackburn go so close to equalizing...still nil nil
"Flat at ER... disastrous defensive five minutes"
Should have been three down shortly after
BUGGER!!!
MOT YOU WHITES!
Nelson Oliveira with the second goal.
QPR, Nottingham Forest, Birmingham and Blackburn, the four teams fighting it out for the final Championship relegation spot, are all drawing 0-0. As it stands, that would leave QPR safe.
I think I had them going up in the PPP predictions.
THINGS ARE GOING TO TURN
Sounds like an own goal.
Cambridge have an outside chance for the play offs after not winning any of their first 8 games of the season
Sunderland clear the ball off the line
Josh King has a shot cleared off the line by fellow former United trainee, Donny Love. Black Cats somehow hanging on.
Goal at St Andrews... for the ten man hosts!!!
Notts County take the lead vs the Tangerines, who have made a late run into a playoff spot. Good news for Cambridge.
Very deflating news for the Ewood Park fans
Where would Sunderland have been if they hadn't lost Big Sam to the Three Lions... for one match
They should have rehired him
Bad news for Blackburn, who may have a black derby in L! next season. Looking 50-50 at the moment.
It sounds like we should be watching the match at St. Andrews not at St. Marys. A missed penalty, a man sent off and now a goal.
WE HAVE A PREMIER LEAGUE GOAL
To the reigning champs
Vardy with the goal
Hate him.
Villa have a free kick chance outside the D pretty central
who?
Big Sam?
I do too but he's saved Palace.. again
The Foxes take the lead at the Hawthorns where they will be safe if they win.
Vardy with the goal.
I've turned it over to St Mary's
What will everyone say at half time
RUDDY NORAH
THREE NIL NORWICH
0-3 down! Right on the stroke of half time! Our season is over.
Barnsley take the lead vs Richard Burton while Ridsdale's boys tie it up vs Rotherham
Sorry mate... have a storming second half and get a draw
Sorry Bob.
Over to Sunderland for more 0-0 action. Even Rebecca is bored.
Wahay! Chris Wood has got one back right on the stroke of half-time. Time for a comeback?
My SS link has been working well now it is just pausing..Bugger
Leeds pull one back through Chris Wood after after Nelson OLiveira scored his second for the Canaries. Now 1-3.
Comeback on?
LEEDS GET A GOAL BACK!!!
Wolves pull one back at Pride Park where they trail 2-1.
That's Woody's 29th of the season. We'll need three more from him today.
COME ON... STILL PLENTY OF TIME
Come out all guns a blazin
Just three Leeds goals and one for Brentford and it WILL be a great day... I have faith
Let's have a goal for Ipswich too
Come on Leeds
WBA had take the lead in the last 14 meeting against Leicester...not today
It'll take a Herculean effort but perhaps Woody's goal can fire the side up. Come on, you Whites!
Goal at Loftus Road... to Rangers
Forest still in trouble
if the scores stay the same, Rovers and Forest would be the contenders for the drop
Ex Prem champ and ex Euro Champ
GOAL
LEEDS 2 NORWICH 3
THEY HAVE BEEN POURING FORWARD
GOAL! It’s Leeds 2-3 Norwich! Now they only need to score one more to have a ridiculously slim chance of actually making the play-offs after all!
The comeback is on!!!
I called it... all things looking horrible and it will all change...just like last week did the opposite
SCORE TWO...plenty of time
Let's hope - thanks for your faith, mate. I'm not sure I have it.
I see in the future... two Leeds goals, one Brentford goal and one Ipswich goal.... mark my words
Ex League side Orient tie it up
Rovers have scored at Ewood
Right now... Forest and Rovers would be tied on points
Even with a win, Brum wouldn't be safe. They would be two points ahead with a far worse GD
How pathetic is it that his still only one goal in the Premier League
Burton are all square at Oakwell
Still only the one goal for Leicester in the Prem. What a rubbish league!
Derby get their two goal lead back vs Wolves
It's LEEDS TIME
I hope you're right with your predictions, Nostadavus.
I will be
I will
QPR are two up
QPR have scored again, and are looking set fair for safety. Blackburn could do with them scoring a few more, which would help their chances of overhauling Nottingham Forest, Rangers’ opponents today.
Our second goal was scored by Kyle Bartley - his sixth of the season. Not a bad tally from a center back. Our two center backs have scored 9 between them!
Back from taking Elizabeth and Melanie to the scholarship luncheon. Yours truly ineligible to attend since the scholarship is from a women's group.
WAY HAY!!! Comeback on.
MOT YOU WHITES! Lots of drama at ER.
Blackburn or Forest - who would you rather see go down to L1? Both really big clubs for third division football.
Thanks, mate - I'm on pins and needles.
I missed Carlisle tying it up vs Newport. Good news for Jeff, but probably not good enough.
An hour in and still only one goal from the four Premiership matches. Ridiculous!
I'd rather see Rovers go down if I had to pick.
