It's Saturday Again!
A very good Saturday morning, chaps! I hope that you've had a good week and are settling in for some Premier League footer. We start early doors with champions Chelsea v. upstarts Watford. Then it's the usual 10 am EST kickoffs, including our two beloved Uniteds. ManYoo play Huddersfield while Leeds travel to Bristol City for a key playoff spot fixture. I'll take two wins for the Uniteds in that one, how about you? Brew yourself a strong cuppa and join me, won't you?

I'm in my favorite chair with my favorite brekkies - bagel and tea - and ready for the match. Here are the teams out on the pitch at Stamford Bridge now:
Chelsea (3-4-3) Courtois; Rudiger, David Luiz, Cahill; Azpilicueta, Fabregas, Bakayoko, Alonso; Pedro, Morata, Hazard. Substitutes: Caballero, Zappacosta, Christensen, Musonda, Willian, Ampadu, Batshuayi.
Watford (3-4-3) Gomes; Mariappa, Kabasele, Britos; Femenia, Cleverley, Doucoure, Holebas; Pereyra, Deeney, Richarlison. Substitutes: Karnezis, Janmaat, Wague, Capoue, Watson, Gray, Carrillo.
Referee Jon Moss.
Morning Boys
I just woke up and I didn't know what day of the week it was! I was thrilled that Kath told me it was Saturday!
I was going to have a little snooze this morning but I am up and ready for Chelsea to stung by the Hornets... TOP FOUR HORNETS
We are off
We're just about set then. Peter Drury on the microphone for this one alongside Jim Beglin as Chelsea get us underway at the Bridge.
Watford had a chance to break there...they had the numbers but the bloke made the wrong decision in my book
Morning, UWS - great to have you join me. I'm glad that you didn't opt for the snooze. How was your week?
I think I picked Watford to go down. If they win today, they would be THIRD!!
Long and tough!
Also, we drove our niece down to Newburgh on Wednesday. She flew on Norwegian Airlines to Edinburgh. It is really cheap!
This could be a tricky one for Chelsea. Watford aren't pretty but they're no mugs either.
This is end to end stuff.. both with playing with pace
So pleased to see Watford doing this. Are you watching Jose?
Where's Newburgh? Never heard of it.
I just checked. You didn't pick Watford for the drop but I did! You picked Swansea, Burnley and Huddersfield.
It is just south of Poughkeepsie
It is a small airport(used to be just military)
Very convenient to travel without having to go to the City
GOAL! Pedro scores the opener for Chelsea - a great strike!
One nil Chelsea!
Great shot....right in the postage stamp
Short corner routine caught out the Watford backline. Pedro at the top of the box curled in a delightful shot off the upright.
1-0 Blues!
Chelsea in full flow now - hard to stop them in this mood.
Just went to the best website in the world and am watching Football Focus on the BBC
The replay shows that Jon Moss was wrong in awarding the corner. But then Holebas was grabbing Hazard's shirt, so it could have been a free kick.
Oh - Pedro was in again but then gets to cute with the chip and Gomes grabs it gratefully.
Last time United played Huddersfield... Georgie Best scored in the match!
I've just looked to see if there is a link for the Bristol City v. Leeds match. Nothing doing. It's Wolves v. PNE and later Millwall v. Brum. Thanks for nothing, ESPN!
Well...remember last week... there was a link and look what happened!
Mariappa chops Hazard down and gets a yellow - they're losing the plot a bit.
That is true - usually we do well when the two Uniteds are playing at the same time, but I'm nervous. We're in rotten form, having lost four of the past five matches.
Oh - Pedro just wide with a pop from distance. He's full of confidence now.
It will change today... My United will play better today too
I hope so, mate - thanks.
Just read, the last time United traveled over the Pennines to Huddersfield was 46 years ago. United beat Huddersfield 3-0. What makes that game special. It was the last game Best, Law and Charlton all scored in a match
Hope Watford can get a goal back before half time
Wow - you would take that result again, I'd imagine.
Love the same three scorers too!
The pep has gone out of this one. Chelsea don't look fussed to do any more than absolutely necessary to win this one and Watford don't really have the quality to get back into it right now.
Is Denis Law still alive? I know Sir Bobby is.
Watford had a chance to break... bad touch gave David Luiz to get the ball...bugger
Richarlison is a nuisance and he earns a free kick. Last chance for Watford in this half.
DL fouls to give Watford for a chance to get the ball in the box
COME ON WATFORD!!
Not a good free kick but it somehow makes it passed everyone... no one could get a touch. Bugger
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Watford score with the last kick of the half!!!
GOAL! Watford are level right before the interval!
Half time
Lovely jubbly
Doucoure takes advantage of some poor defending from the long throw and smashes one in the near post. Courtois won't like to see that video replay.
1-1 at the break.
I'm settling in for the second half now - Watford in red get us underway.
I am back for the second half.... HOW DID WATFORD NOT SCORE!!
WHAT A SITTER
Oh - Richarlison has missed one of the great sitters of the season. He was six yards out and alone in front of goal. Merely had to tap in and somehow contrived to put it wide.
WATFORD DO TAKE THE LEAD!!!!!
Great pass for the goal
GOAL! Watford have scored now! What a calamity for Chelsea as Perreira ghosts in to meet a pass from Richarlison to put the Hornets in front!
1-2!
Watford up to third place... two points behind United
Feels like 1982!!
ANOTHER SITTER MISSED!!!!
INSIDE THE SIX!!
Oh - now Richarlison has missed a free header! Watford should be 3 or 4-1 up. Chelsea are in tatters right now.
You'd like to turn the clock back to 1982, wouldn't you?
It is all Watford!!!
Well done Hornets
Only to see everyone again!
United stunk it up back then... well... finished behind Pool every season
Watford really needed to bury one or two of those chances.
You can always bet on Chelsea getting back into this
HIbs and Celtic playing in the League Cup semi
Celtic two up at half
Now they are 3-2 up
Chelsea look like the Keystone Kops at the back
Wish United were playing them today!
They really do, don't they? Any side that plays Sideshow Bob at center back is asking for trouble.
Watford really need to score again!!
Of course, Chelsea didn't come back last week!
Could this be their third league loss in a row?
City, Palace and Watford!
Wow
GOAL! Batboy heads Chelsea back into this one and Desmond Tutu arrives at the Bridge.
Chelsea with a free kick chance..take it quick... ball goes out wide
DESMOND
Lovely cross over from Pedro and Batboy met it beautifully with a glance into the corner beyond Gomes' reach.
Not sure it was a foul to start....Chelsea don't deserve it
They will go and win this now
Sideshow is down needing treatment now.
Watford with a header chance...weak effort
Chelsea have the upper hand again now - Watford may rue all of those missed chances.
Cahill and Sideshow are down now!!
Both limping away looking like the walking wounded.
Fifteen minutes to go
United's line up
Not exactly Best, Law and Charlton but..
De Gea
Valencia
Jones
Smalling
Young
Herrera
Matic
Lingard
Martial
Lukaku
Bench
Romero, Blind, Darmian, Lindeloff, McTominay, Miki, Rash
Strong line-up; I'd prefer Rash to Martial and Miki to Lindy.
This one could still go ether way.
Oh - Batboy nearly snuck in there from the free kick to win it for Chelsea.
Rash apparently went off after his goal on Wednesday with a dodgy knew...I'm glad he's at least on the bench
Ref didn't call a foul there... He would have given it to Chelsea
Maybe Watford could score a winner in injury time just like last week against the Arse
GOAL! Azpi has won it for the Blues!!
BUGGGGGEER... Chelsea just scored!! Totally undeserved
A bit of fortune there as the cross from Willian was deflected onto the head of Azpi.
Agreed - Conte's side really sat back for much of this one. But they do have the nagging habit of grinding out wins.
As you said, Watford could have been 4-1 up
Oh - Willian nearly set up another header there for Rudiger.
True - Richarlison will really regret those misses.
3 of 5 added minutes to go
Rudy goes down like he's been shot... what a surprise...he's ok
bugger
4-2
TOTALLY UNDESERVED
GOAL! Batboy wraps it up for Chelsea.
4-2!
This one is done and dusted and Shad is at me for a walk
I'll be back for United
I am back from walkies
COME ON MAN U
COME ON MAN U
COME ON MAN U
Here come the teams...Please hammer them United
Play attacking football!!
Im watching the footer on the telly
Watching Only Fools and Horses on the computer
Will put on Final Score on at half time
LOVING IT
Back after a break to watch Huddersfield v. United and follow the others on-line.
You are truly multi-media today, mate!
And Kathy just made me some breakie!!
And we're away at Hudders
Lovely - say hi to her for us.
she says hi
Of course my mind will be squarely on the Bristol City v. Leeds match. I'm nervous.
Good morning, Bob and Dave. Here to join you after a wee bit of extra kip.
That sounds like a playoff six pointer.
Morning MUR
Wolves vs Ridsdale's chaps on ESPN # then the Evil Lions vs the Brummies on the same stream in the late match
It most definitely is. Morning, MUR - how are you, mate?
Lukaku has the first shot on goal... easily saved even tho he left a rebound
Thanks, UWS. The Chunk was through on goal , but Losled his bearings as he shot straight at the keeper. United should have taken the lead.
Where's Pearson??
Jesus saves.... Pearson nets the rebound
WAY HAY!! Leeds take the lead at Ashton Gate
There's a scuffle between Kung Fu and Tommy Smith now. What's Lee Mason to do with this one?
handbags with Martial and some Terrier... apparently there was some head movement
I think just a yellow for both
YESSSSSS!!!!!!
Some Kung Fu fighting involving the Terriers Tommy Smith? Both he and the Kung Fu Panda booked.
Martial has gone in again. He has to settle down now that he's been booked early.
Now Marital fouls.... keep your head man
Leeds took the lead thanks to a Pre Saiz finish. How is that for a description.
Free kick for United
Lingard tackled to the left of the box
No Rashford to deliver it tho
Schindler booked for fouling Lindy by the corner flag.
Young hits it too far
The kick from Yash was far too high , making it halfway to the Pennines.,
Bob will be further pleased that the Rams have taken the lead vs Not a Big Club
Sammy Saiz with the goal for us. His seventh of the season now. That'll stop the rot.
Lovely jubbly! Couldn't be happier.
I'm doing well. Took the day off yesterday , but was tired from running errands. Went to bed early , but woke up at 245 in the morning to pick up Melanie from the bus station then went back to bed and am well rested .
Silly fouls all over the place
Come on United.... SCORE!!
United still have only conceded in ONE league match so far!!
Fred will not be pleased that his team are trailing thanks to a Bee Sting.
Martial..... grow up!!!!!
Congrats for you goal at Ashton Gate
That could have easily been another yellow for Kung Fu. I'd have him off for Rash right away. He's lost his head.
Bloody Hell. Too many illegal karate chops will eventually result in a second yellow and United being a man down. The Chunk heads out a free kick for a Terriers corner. Jones heads out the corner from Mooy.
Agreed, Bob. I would sub him even this early in the match
They just said my earlier fact!!!
Law, Best and Charlton scoring in the last match United played at Hudders
TWO NIL LEEDS
Fred will be pleased that the Black Cats have tied it up at the Bees.
Inside 15 minutes.... well done Leeds
WAY HAY!!! Congrats , Bob.
Wahay!!!!!!
A brace of Pre Saiz finishes. How about a hat-trick of those?
I'm also delighted to see that Not a Big Club are down to ten men as skipper Glenn Loovens was sent off in that penalty incident that Derby scored from.
Now it's our United's turn to score!!
The Cherries take the lead at the Brit.
Useless shot by Herrera...he's been off this season...some silly fouls and some real misses so far
Lovely - Sammy is now our top goalscorer with eight. I really think that he's a much better target man for us that the lumbering German Lasaoga, who has only scored one hat-trick in the League Cup for us.
The Cherries now two up.
Decent break from United... Young crosses... Decent effort by Luk
Surman with the first Cherries goal then Junior Stanislaus with a spot kick a couple of minutes later.
This morning's match was quite good David
Watford fell behind but went ahead and should have been 4-1 up!!
Alas Chelsea won
Shocking that City haven't scored yet!!
Celtic won 2-4 at Hibs in the Scots League Cup.
Bad decision there by Valencia!!
I did record it, but had seen the score. I will look forward to watching it.
Bournemouth two up at Stoke!!
Jones down hurt and not happy
He's played every minute of the season so far... Lindeloff looks like he is coming on for him
Lindelof on for Jones. Shame.
Glad I didn't ruin it for you
I saw that there was an injury stoppage due to a collision between the Citeh keeper and a Burnley player.
Villa one up v Fulham
Bolton lead QPR
No you did not. No probs.
High flying Blades lead at home to Reading
The Evil Blades take the lead vs Jaap's Chaps.
Come on United... play better!!!
Leicester take lead in Wales
Terrible touch by Mata... and Huddersfield score!!
BUGGER!!!
Third goal of the season conceded
Oh dear - Hudders' poor man's Arjen Robben has put them ahead. A series of calamities.
John Terry has put Aston Villa one up against Fulham at Villa Park with his first for the Championship club.
Herrera with a weak effort.. deflected for a corner
Of course, the corner comes to nothing
Managerless Leicester have gone 0-1 up at hapless Swansea.
Good morning chaps!
Things are going well for the Blue Devil, but Good Lord, is Lee Mason refereeing a match that only he can see in his head? It's no wonder that the players are taking things into their own hands because Mason lost the plot from the opening whistle. Mark my words, he's always a good bet to job a team but this display is more inept than anything I've seen t his season. We'd have been rid of him if FIFA hadn't done away with the mandatory retirement age. Thanks FIFA and the sweet FA.
You keep missing my updates!!
Already said the Villa and Leicester matches!
BUGGER!!! The Terriers took the lead as I was serving a hot cuppa of coffee. Mooy tackled Mata in midfield then went on a solo run , passing tot Tomm Ince, whose close range effort was blocked by De Gea then Mooy put away the rebound.
Hiya Gooner
Wotcha UWS
BLOODY HELL
TWO NIL
Oh my word - what was that? Hudders are 2-0 up. WTF?!
So bad by Lindeloff
BLOODY HELL ! Lindeloff has gifted the Terriers the ball and they have De Poiitre the ball past De Gea to go two up.
Morning, Gooner! Great to have you on board.
Good morning, Steve . How have you been?
Just doubled the amount of goals conceded inside 33 minutes
Sorry, lads - that was Sunday league in the park defending from Lindelof there.
And to add insult to injury, Citeh have taken the lead through Aguero.
Make it worse
City have just scored
I saw the penalty from Aguero. It looked like a really horrible dive to win the penalty. Talk about a ref jobbing a team!
Little Joe needs this lot down the tunnel quick. I contend that really poor refereeing has put a pall on the United performance here.
Still - plenty of time left in this one. And Hudders do like to leak goals.
Aguero with a pen to tie the City club scoring record
United look clueless
Here's a fact!!! Mooy, who scored the first goal, is a former Citeh academy player and Ince is the son of a former United player.
United want a pen. Ref says no
As if to prove Gooner's point, Lee Mason has now denied United a penalty.
Young fails to find someone in the box
BLOODY HELL ! Did Lee Mason job us. It felt like a colonoscopy.
It's the lack of character from the diver. Look at that 3rd rate Watford Brazilian's dive that won the match for Watford last week. He showed his Russian league level class today with a simply awful set of missed sitters against Chelsea today.
Aguero is now level with Lukaku on 7 goals in the Prem. Maybe that will light a fire under The Chunk.
You must have had a chuckle at Richarlison's expense when he missed those two sitters this morning. I know that he's not your favorite Brazi.
Life after Shakespeare! An OG by Fernandez has gifted them the lead. They say Shakespeare was a fictional character, but someone sure walked the plank on Monday!
Van La PArra on for the injured Kachunga.
That was a definite United throw in... not given
I agree that Richarlison's dive was poor , but he's put in some good performances this season, IMHO.
