Midweek Premiership Madness!
The Fredonia campus is shut down due to the extreme wintry conditions today, so I'm taking advantage of an afternoon at home to enjoy some Premiership footer. NBC Sports is showing the Man Citeh visit to Wales to meet Swansea. If they win today, they'll set a new record for a winning streak of 15 matches. Elsewhere, United are at home to Bournemouth, Liverpool are at home to West Brom and Arsenal are away to West Ham. Join me for a cuppa and a match if you're around.

Those will likely change this afternoon.
Almost set now for the 7:45 GMT kick-offs. West Ham and Arsenal kick off a 8pm.
Citeh get us underway in this top v. bottom affair wearing all-black. Swansea in all white. Danny Higginbotham and Gary Weaver on the mics this afternoon.
A defensive slip nearly allowed Wilfried Bony in there. Cleaned up nicely.
Oh - Aguero weaved into the area but could only find the side-netting.
Citeh starting to click into gear now - Raheem Sterling got into the area and turned his man but his effort was blocked out for a corcern.
Oh - great save by Flappy low to his left from a great drive by Fernandinho.
Oh - Swansea broke quickly and Ayew produced a good save out of Ederson.
Jurgen Klopp is fielding his Fab Four of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Moahmed Salah and Philippe Coutinho, but Lorius Karius is in goal for the injured Simon Mignolet. James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Jordan Henderson are on the bench, while Emre Can, Georgino Wijnaldum and Trent Alexander-Arnold all start.
A penalty shout at St James’ Park: Everton full-back Cuco Martina brings down DeAndre Yedlin on the edge of the box, prompting Rafa Benitez to appeal for a penalty from Martin Atkinson. It’s outside the area and Newcastle have to settle for a free-kick. Nothing comes of it.
Ginger Winger tries an outrageous full volley straight from a cross by Bernardo Silva. Didn't really come off.
Riyad Mahrez scores the first Premier League goal of the night, beating a couple of defenders and finding the far corner for Leicester from all of 25 yards in the 11th minute.
Ayew tries a speculative cross that Ederson collected easily but it got the home crowd excited.
I've got the NBC Universo on for the LOB Derby, Arsenal vs. the Hammers, the nick-name for which football team? Che??? Karl??? Feel free to buzz in. Yes, Mao?
Free kick chance now for Citeh....
Oh - it nearly came to Otamendi but he didn't anticipate it.
LOL! Welcome to the party, Comrade Gooner!
Citeh haven't been quite as fluid today as in recent matches - are they feeling the pressure?
All of tonight's matches have started, then. Only that Mahrez goal so far to show for them.
Oh - Aguero with a glancing header over the bar.
Probably still stung by schoolmarm little Joe's cutting remarks on civil discourse.
Flags of Our Fathers ringing around the Liberty Stadium now - Swansea have managed the opening period well.
No doubt the Milkgate story will continue to run. I can't believe that we didn't anticipate those shenanigans with the PPP. Surely Lukaku will face an FA ban at some point, no?
GOAL! It had to come, didn't it. David Silva finishes off a nice move. Poor defending from the Swans, it has to be said.
0-1 Citeh!
Oh - Aguero nearly rattles in a second there, but for Flappy's excellent save. Citeh could be two or three up now.
Flappy is down for treatment now.
Little Joe is evidently bullet-proof. We'll see about Lukaku. Cesc walked away from unsolicited pizza distribution, but he didn't draw blood during its commission.
How is it that no-one, no-one has lamped Mourinho? He's most overdue for a damn good thrashing.
Wayne Rooney prods home his 10th of the season and fifth in four games, pouncing to capitalise on a mistake from Karl Darlow, who dropped the ball and gifted Everton their opener. That's Roon up to 9 goals now, level with Aguero and Sterling.
Good God, Arnowtavic is just offside as he finishes off a cross. Let-off for the good-guys.
West Ham have a goal disallowed against Arsenal: A completely unmarked Marko Arnautovic sends a downward header past Petr Cech and appears to open the scoring for West Ham, prompting wild celebrations from David Moyes. He was half-a-yard offside so it won’t count. A let-off for Arsenal.
Totally agree with you about Mourinho.
GOAL! Ginger Winger drives in a free kick for Citeh's second. Flappy has been good today but he didn't look so clever there. Took his eye off it. Two soft goals, it has to be said.
Shinji Okazaki doubles Leicester’s lead from point-blank range after Fraser Forster elects to save a low drive with his feet, inadvertently teeing up the Leicester striker.
After a decent start, Swansea could easily be on the end of a right mauling here tonight.
Oh - Kyle Naughton nearly allowed Raheem Sterling in there for a third.
Swansea fans are beginning to sound more than a bit frustrated with the proceedings now.
Andy King has added a third goal for Leicester away to Southampton. Crikey!
Referee Moss is treating the HFB as if he continually puts his bins out a night early. Ogbonna has trodden on his instep and clubbed him across the snout and Mr. Moss has decided that there's nothing to see. Nothing. At. All.
Romelu Lukaku has ended his goal drought, firing Manchester United ahead against Bournemouth. He leapt higher than anyone else to head home Juan Mata’s cross. That's The Chunk onto 9 goals as well.
That's half-time at the Liberty. Citeh cruising it 0-2 at the moment.
Back on for the second half at the Liberty, and Citeh nearly score a third from the kickoff.
0-0 at the half in Stratford. I'm for a cup of tea during the half. Back shortly.
Serge Aurier scores with a complete fluke - a cross that drifts high over Mathew Ryan and in at the far post. Spurs 1-0 up over Brighton.
Hmmm! Jurgen Klopp was much maligned for leaving two of his Fab Four – Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino – on the bench against Everton at the weekend. All four members of the quartet are playing against West Brom tonight and they’ve mustered the sum total of no shots on goal in 44 minutes of the first half.
GOAL! Oh, that was just too easy. A lovely combo between Sterling and Silva. Silva finishes it all off for his brace and Citeh's third. They're well on the way to their record.
Oh - Sterling was nearly in for Citeh's fourth there but was ruled offside.
Yaya Toure, the forgotten man, comes on to spell Fernandinho.
Swansea can barely get a touch now - it's Ole Football time for Citeh.
Oh - at the end of a move of 30 or 50 passes, Aguero nearly scores. Even the home crowd applauded that effort.
Aguero is probably kicking himself that he hasn't got in on the goal-fest this afternoon.
Oh - a chance for Swansea! A shot from Messa seems to be going harmlessly wide when it strikes Delph and nearly rolls in. Great stop by Ederson.
From a corner, Mayo Yoshida pulls a goal back for Southampton against Leicester at St Mary’s although Dusan Tadic may have got the final decisive touch.
Another free kick chance now for the Ginger.
Nice hit but well collected by Flappy.
Oh - another free kick from Ginger is nicked on by Sterling. Nearly another. Just over the bar.
A fourth for Leicester on the counter-attack, with Okazaki getting his second as he fires home after getting on the end of a cross from Riyad Mahrez. That’s his first ever Premier League brace.
Soton 1 Leicester 4!
Sterling is bundled over in the box now - Anthony Taylor not best pleased by that.
Arsenal go close: It’s still scoreless at the London Stadium, where the rain is bucketing down and Arsenal have West Ham under siege but just can’t score. Mesut Ozil misses two good chances in quick succession, putting the second one inexplicably wide of the upright when he should have scored.
Lacazette warming up at the London Stadium: Arsenal’s French striker Alexandre Lacazette made way for Olivier Giroud tonight, but is warming up with extreme prejudice on the touchline at the London Stadium. He’ll be on soon.
As it stands right now with about ten minutes left in the 7:45pm GMT kickoffs and another 30 minutes in the late ones, this is the top of the Prem table:
1. Citeh - 49 points
2. United - 38 pts
3. Chelsea - 35 pts
4. Spurs - 31 pts
5. Liverpool - 31 pts
6. Burnley - 31 pts
7. Arsenal - 30 pts
You're probably right, but Iwobi is gassed so he needs the hook too.
GOAL! Aguero adds to his goal tally and to Swansea's misery with a great finish in the corner.
0-4!
Welbz looks like he's coming on.
... for Iwobi.
Now it's Bernardo Silva with a shot into Flappy's chest. Honestly, Citeh could have won by ten this evening. They've been that dominant.
That's a good late move. You just need to nick a late goal now. Come on, you Gunners!
That's that at the Liberty. The result was never really in doubt after David Silva nudged in Citeh's opener. It's a new record - 15 straight wins in the top flight. Quite an accomplishment.
Good on NBC Sports - they've moved on to the United match to Bournemouth.
Leicester have run out 1-4 winners at St. Mary's.
I am here for the last bit
Apparently United have been crap!!
They have been outshot at home by Bournemouth
Everton won at SJP... so much for a relegation scrap!
I am watching the Canadian coverage on that website. They showed Soton Leicester but now are at the London Stadium
United looked clueless going forward and then give away a chance to Defoe...saved by De Gea
Read that She played really well... Jose can't let him have full match!
Arsene takes off Sanchez
Disallowed goal at Anfield: Dominic Solanke gets the ball in the net for Liverpool, only for his effort to be disallowed for hand-ball.
Welcome home, mate! I wish the scoreline were more welcoming for you.
Disallowed goal at Anfield...not sure for who!
Shelvey got a red at SJP
There was a late, late red card at St James’ Park, with Jonjo Shelvey getting a straight red for a clumsy tackle on Idrissa Gueye in the fourth minute of injury time. That’s his second of the season, while Newcastle have now lost seven of their past eight games.
I don't know why Jose is getting a free pass... they are terrible!!
That corner.... no one attacked the ball!!!
He already had a yellow
In truth, Bournemouth have been doing more of the attacking since they switched over.
Bournemouth are the better team
Absolutely
Shots
United 8 Bournemouth 12
On Target
2 to 6
Corners 3 to 8
Spurs go 2-0 up late on. Christian Eriksen whhips the ball to the near post from a free-kick and Hueng-Min Son flicks it home.
Spurs go two up
Son
Almost into 4 minutes of added time...United HANGING ON
But it's that one goal that makes all the difference.
Hernandez with a big chance... off the bar on to the ground... so close for the Hammers
Into 2 added minutes
Oh - Mata nearly teed up The Chunk again. Shot deflected out.
Why didn't United pass the ball forward there!
Mata finds Lukaku... blocked
Weak effort
West Ham pressuring... under 30 seconds to go
SO bad from United on that corner!!
Last kick free kick for Arsenal
Last chance free kick for Bournemouth too
Chicharito has apparently missed a sitter at the London Stadium.
Xhaka or Ozil..Ozil.... horribly over
Ends 0-0
Same at OT too please......struth... thank goodness that was right at De Gea
From a free kick routine. Fraser rifles a shot off but De Gea is right behind it.
And that's it - United hang on for the win.
United have limped over the line
BLOODY PATHETIC!!!
Liverpool have dropped points at Anfield too
Good day for United but I want more
Take care Bob
Off to Florida tomorrow
Arsenal and Liverpool have dropped points today. That's two draws on the bounce for Liverpool.
That's it for me today, boys. Enjoy your trip to Florida. Soak up some of that sunshine for me, mate.
