Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Good morning, mate. Hope you can bring a United victory as a birthday gift.

A very happy birthday, mate. I hope that you will having a winning day here in the Birmingham area.
Thanks, mate. We won at the same stadium last year on my birthday and am hoping for the same today.
They're off from the Hawthorns.
COME ON MAN UNITED!
The Baggies to get us underway here. What do you think of the United line-up?
There was old by, Jonny Evans. He was always prone to an error or two when he played for us.
It seems like the standard lineup. Pogba is serving the last match of his suspension. Bailey is still out injured,
Nice combo play between the Chunk and Rash, but then a rash touch ran the ball out of play by a Chunk or two.
Rainy in the West Midlands, snowed in in WNY and foggy in South Texas.
United with several shots blocked that started with a great goal kick from De Gea that found Rash
As we kick off, Pardew's WBA are mired in the bottom three, alongside Newcastle and Swansea.
United, in contrast, are second but 13 points behind Citeh on top.
United won a corner thanks to defending like Liverwurst
Hegazy heads out the corner.
I sure didn't see those as the bottom three. I never saw that coming, especially the Baggies, who have a decent side.
Fred says that the Black Cats won a home match for the first time in a year. Is he correct? Also said the goal scorer sounded a lot like haha.
The Baggies have countered twice, but both times the final ball has been bullocks. The Third time the ball runned off Valencias for a Baggies corner. The corner was cleared by the first man
A pass from the Chunk deflects towards Rash and he out muscles Nyom for a corner.
Gibbs heads a cross staright up into the air then Foster, another former United player, is fouled. He felt like a Chunk was taken out of him.
This is much better from the hosts now. They looked nervous in the first 10 minutes, but they’re beginning to play their part in this match.
Krystkowiak, the Polish international , takes a Chunk out of Herrera. Escapes a booking.
Elizabeth will be giving me card, but I don't think it's yellow or red.
Now the nasty Yacoub fouls Lindy
It's funny to see Gibbs in a WBA shirt after his lengthy service at Arsenal. I suppose that's a downward move for his career.
The Hawthorns where the rejects from big clubs come to revive their careers?
How is this for a stat? The Baggies have yet to score score since Pardew took charge. Two 0-0 draws and a loss. He was talking about expansive football, but the stats don't show that. Am I missing something?
Herrera a tad tardy with the tackle on McLean. That's not what they mean by Miss American Pie.
The Guardian writer says that Herrera has been under attack from United fans. Why is that?
GOAL!!!!
The Chunk rises to nod home United's opener!
YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!! THE SULKER HEADS IN A RASH CROSS IN THE UPPER 90 TO GIVE UNITED THE LEAD.
UWS is not a fan of Herrera either. Others have played worse than him, IMHO.
It will be tough for the Baggies , who have yet to score in the Pardew era.
No celebration from Lukaku as he scores, perhaps out of respect for WBA or because he's angry about the criticism he's received of late.
Great cross by Rash.
That was the first attempt on target from either side.
OLiver Burke leads a speedy counter, but is stopped by a great tackle from Smalling.
Yeah - I was just about to post that UWS would be frustrated if he were watching, but he's off enjoying his Florida vacation.
United struggle to clear a pass from Nyom.
Just to let you know I need to leave at the end of this match. A long road trip to pick up Melanie from college and bring her home.
0-2! Lindy hits one and it's deflected in for another.
WAY HAY !!! L;INDY HAS A SHOT WALK OFF AN EGYPTIAN TO PUT UNITED TWO UP.
Matic and Mata combined to assist Lindy off a United throw.
Two shots on goal, two goals. Mou likes that kind of economical approach, doesn't he?
Matic walks the corner off the Egyptian as United are passing at will.
Nyom cleared a corner from Yash that fizzed in the box.
Is Little Joe helped by the fact that the Baggies have yet to score under Pardew?
James McLean more like Don with that cross.
United are playing with wonderful confidence now. They could fill their boots if they keep going. They were too cautious before the first goal, but a blend of sharper passing and movement is turning this an ordeal for West Brom.
A question for Pardew: Why are the likes of J Rod and H Rob on the bench?
This result is probably better than any gift I will get today, LOL!
De Gea with his first save of the match: A comfortable one from Liverwurst.
I can't imagine that true, mate. You'll no doubt get a good haul from the family. Are you going out to eat tonight?
Into stoppage time. A single solitary minute
No I have to up to pick up Melanie from college and come straight back!
United two up at the end of probably their easiest half of the season.
Half-time: 0-2 United. Worrying times for Alan Pardew and co.
Alan Pardew has brought on Old Man , Barry , presumably for damage ,limitation.
Second half starting up - Gareth Barry has replaced Yacob.
Second half underway and Gibbs drags a shot well wide.
Just a reminder that I need to leave at the conclusion of this match to pick up Melanie from college.
Offside by a Chunk off a lobbed pass from Rash. The counter started with a tackle by Smalling on Oliver Burke.
McLean yelling that United were McDirty. The ref agrees to disagree.
Handbags between Hegazi and Rashford. Yellow cards all round.
The Baggies starting to get frustrated Rash and Hegazy booked for some afters.
Rash behavior or not walking like an Egyptian? Which one, mate?
Great run and pass from Oliver Burke , but the Baggies could not get a shot off because Runned ON, well, let the ball run on.
Oh - Rashford could have killed it off there. Just snatched at the shot a bit.
Rash volleys wide off a cross from Valencia that was helped on by Lindy
OH!!!! Lindy leads a United break , then plays a one two and a superb break ends with a soft shot straight to Foster,
Nyom lucky not to be booked and skipper and former United player, Jonny Evans, called in to diffuse the situation.
PArdew's assistant , John Carver, watching his side being carved apart BOOM BOOM!
The cross from Yash was over by just a tad more than a Chunk.
The Baggies have gone half a dozen hours without scoring a Prem goal. That's not what winning teams are made of. Is that correct , mate?
J Rod on for Oliver Burke, who had a decent debut, shaming more experienced teammates , who have not performed nearly as well.
De Gea kicks the ball out of play so that Red can come on for Valencia.
Lindy fouled from behind by Krystkowiak and nothing given.
A long ball from Gareth Barry is headed out by Yash for a Baggies corner.
United have predictably dropped deep into their shell now. Lots of matches coming up over the next couple of weeks and they're conserving energy, as per Mou's wishes.
Yash a bit Rash on McLean , who accused of being McDirty. Another Baggie showing his frustration.
The final roll of the dice from Alan Pardew as Chris Brunt is on for Krystkowiak.
A Baggies player has Runned Offside, not on.
Nice pass from Brunt that runned on to a Baggie , who shot tamely at De Gea.
High and wide by Chris Brunt,.
A shot has runned on for a Baggies corner.
DAMN !!! GARETH BARRY, OF ALL PEOPLE SCORES THE FIRST GOAL OF THE PARDEW ERA.
Two Northern Ireland internationals combined as the corner from Brunt was headed down by Jonny Evans and Barry smashed in from two yard out.
Boos as Rash is karate chopped off the pitch. The home fans would love to do so.
BLOW UP REF!
J Rod with a half volley straight to De Gea off a pass from Gibbs.
Sorry, mate - it's squeaky bum time now.
United have been lax since half-time. They’ve brought this on themselves.
Runned ON wins another Baggies corner. United need to clear this one.
Welcome back. Agreed, mate. They relaxed too much
Oh - J Rod rises for a free header. Put it wide.
The subs combine as J Rod heads wide from a cross from Brunt.
So, Lindy is being pulled now. McTominay now to come on to bolt the door.
The final roll of the dice from Wee Joe as McTomain Poisoning is on for Lindy
The introduction of Chris Brunt has changed this match quite a bit.
Not a fan of McTominay?
Huge scramble in the United box. De Gea finally comes up with it.
PHEW!Rojo nearly red faced as he nearly sliced a clearance into his own goal, but just a corner. A scramble as De Gea gathers the ball then pushes old man, Barry.
Hegazi is not going to be a United fan favorite after this outing.
Not that. Just an excuse to use that pun.
He sure adds steel to the Egyptian side.
A quartet of stoppage time minutes, but not musical ones.
The Chunk, who spent a season here on loan, drags a shot wide that could have sealed victory
Yellow card for time wasting for Matic.
Matic booked for time wasting, which will extend stoppage time.
Of course - I should have known. You are the punmeister.
A McDirty way of karate chopping someone and definitely illegal.
Cheers, mate. Glad you understand.
Time's nearly up now.
Runned On has runned off his mouth into the book . I presume he wasn't discussing McTomain poisoning.
It's over and United win by the skin of their teeth by 1-2. Not a great performance, but a welcome three points.
United run out the clock. Not pretty in the end, but three points away nonetheless. United are 10 points behind Citeh and three points ahead of Chelsea in third.
It was great chatting with you, but now I need to head to Austin to bring Melanie home.. Sorry I can't stay longer. Thanks for being around on my birthday.
CHEERS!
