It was a particularly long and busy first week of classes for me this week, which precluded me from joining you for United's exploits at Yeovil yesterday, so I'm especially looking forward to joining you this morning for the 4th Round Saturday action. We start out with a bit of romance - Premier League Leicester visiting L1's Peterborough United. That's followed by West Ham's visit to Wigan Athletic. Finally, the late one is the one that kills me, as it should have been Leeds v. Spurs. Instead, it's upstart Newport County taking on Tottenham. I'll look forward to the pleasure of your company.

A very good morning to all of you LOBers. Peterborough are currently eighth in League One and have already seen off Aston Villa in the FA Cup, who included Premier League-winner John Terry in their team and Leicester have loads of people who have won the title, so there could be another upset today.
Leicester needed some VAR to help them defeat Fleetwood but there’s no video referee today, so Claude Puel will just be relying on the fact his players should be better than Peterborough, which they have proved since he replaced Craig Shakespeare by leading them from 18th to seventh in the Premier League.
They're off from London Road.
Team news from London Road:
Peterborough: Bond, Shephard, Hughes, Taylor, Tafazolli, Forrester, Maddison, Grant, Da Silva Lopes, Lloyd, Marriott.
Subs: O’Malley, Baldwin, Morais, Penny, Kanu, Doughty, Borg.
Leicester: Hamer, Simpson, Maguire, Benalouane, Fuchs, Silva, Iborra, Diabaté, Gray, Barnes, Iheanacho.
Subs: Jakupović, Chilwell, Huth, Albrighton, Ndidi, Mahrez, Vardy.
Referee: Michael Oliver
Morning, MUR - great to have you on board. Thanks for getting up at this ungodly hour for you.
Good Morning, Bob. How have you been. Hope your first week back went well.
Anthony Grant, the former Chelsea Academy player, is injured for Posh, after a tackle on Harvey Barnes.
Grant's landed awkwardly and has a problem now. Being escorted off the pitch for treatment but should be able to return.
Posh came from behind to win at Villa Parl last round , so the Foxes would do well not to become stew.
IHenacho has a shot take a bounce, but it's held by Posh keeper, Jonathan Bond.
Danger man Jack Marriott closed down Hamer really well there as he tried to clear and was nearly in.
Then Ben Hamer takes one too many touches off a back pass, but gets away with it as goes off of Andy MArriott for a goal kick.
GOAL! Leicester dodge a bullet there and run back up the pitch and score through Diabate!
THEN GOAL !!!! DIABATE GIVES THE FOXES THE LEAD ON HIS DEBUT. ADRIENNE SILVA WON THE BALL ON THE FOXES PRESS AND SEVERAL PASSES LATER, HE PUT THROUGH DIABATE , WHO SHOT PAST BOND IN THE CORNER.
Grant, who might still be feeling that injury, gave up the ball in a dangerous area and from there it always looked as if the Foxes might score. Great finish by the Frenchman with the outside of his left boot.
GOAL !!! IHENACHO PUTS THE FOXES TWO UP WITH A SUPERB LONG RANGE FINISH
GOAL! Oh my! What a finish by Ienacho! The new strike pairing for has now scored twice in two minutes for Leicester!
Post have been blindsided by those two quick goals. Leicester can now hang back and keep hitting them on the break.
Two goals in the space of a few minutes were both due to Posh conceding possession deep in their own half and were punished with great finishing.
Iborra takes one for the team, hauling back Grant as he was striding down the middle of the park.
Iborra is booked for a foul from behind on Grant , The free kick from Madison from about thirty yards out was a few feet over. It was always rising.
Then Grant is fouled by young Harvey Barnes.
Are you ready for a marathon day? There's an extra time slot with the late one kicking off at 2:45 today.
I might have to peel off at that point, mate. We'll see what the day brings.
What's on the menu today?
10 AM Wigan vs the Hammers on FS2
10 AM Teesiders vs the Seagulls on the link
10 AM Notts County vs Swans on the link
12:30 Newport vs the Spuds on FS1
2:45 Liverpool vs West Brom on FS2
Damari Gray goes on a solo run and wins a corner.
The home crowd have grown very quiet now. Leicester have well and truly taken the wind out of Peterborough’s sails here. Having done that, they’ve then shredded the sails and sunk the boat.
Posh win their first corner of the match
Thanks for posting that exhaustive schedule, mate. Too bad that Leeds v. Spurs isn't on that list.
They keep possession off the corner, but it just doesn't come off.
WHAT A GOAL!
Superb cross in by Fuchs and Ienacho meets it with a marvelous volley on the run.
0-3!
GOAL !!!! THE FOXES PUNISH THAT AND GO ON THE ATTACK DOWN THE LEFT AND A SUPERB CROSS BY FUCHS IS VOLLEYED IN BY IHENACHO TO PUT THE FOXES THREE UP.
Ihencho with a long range effort just over as he's on a hat-trick.
The normally verbose Barry Fry left speechless. Never liked him.
Dibatae not too far wide off yet another Posh giveaway
I've always had a soft spot for Posh , as one of the Cambridgeshire teams, but sorry to say their big day has gone horribly wrong and this one is done and dusted. Hope they're not on to an old fashioned thrashing.
A rare Posh attack and Lloyd heads well wide with a free header, but the off side flag was raised , so it won't matter.
Oh - it's Lloyd in there again with a big chance, after Harry Maguire made hash a clearance. He slid into the post and he's down for the count to add injury to insult.
LLoyd wide with another free header, this time from Lopez , He's down as he slid into the post. It looks like a horrible injury.
I just observed that there are several Championship matches today. Kate has a trip to Barnsley. That's not exactly a glamour trip, mate.
Harvey Barnes has a shot deflect off of former Toon defender, Anthony Taylor , for a corner off a run and pass from Damari Gray.
A pair of stoppage time minutes.
The Foxes are three up at Posh at the end of a really dominant half.
Posh have gotten a real education from the Premier League side at London Road this afternoon. Can they retrieve some sense of dignity in this second half? Kick off coming up.
Morning Boys
I am here for the second half
I saw the very end of the first half and the goal highlights
What a hammering
I hate FOX!
The second half is underway from London Road.
Posh seem to be trying to give it a go right from the off, seeing if they can nick a goal back.
Good morning, Dave. Great to have you on board
Welcome, UWS - how was your week?
What a plonker... the bloke taking the corner has different color boots on each foot!
What's happened to the lower division sides this round? Alexis made Yeovil players seem like Alexi Sayle and the Foxes have made Posh players seem like Posh Spice.
Seems like Posh's dubious run will continue. Winless against top flight teams in the last 25 FA Cup matches since defeating the Gunners in January 1965!
Hi
It was long!
School is getting so frustrating
We are supposed to have a professional development on Monday.....Looking at meaningless data.... I think I am going to have uncontrollable diarrhea !!!
Danny Lloyd of the Posh is really annoying, keeping track of the number of times he's been fouled. What happened to concentrating on playing?
Sorry, mate. I hope that you can hang in there. We had a few of those useless meetings this past week. Often I just bring my iPad along and spend the time checking my email and FB feed.
We were supposed to have one of those last Monday, but got out of it because the presenter went down ill. There's a reason why next year is my last year.
So, the next match is on FS2 because of the Bundesliga match
That isn't HD on my tv.. very annoying
Bloody Spectrum is making all of the tvs useless unless you have a box...$6 a box. I have a lot of tvs around the house
Agreed. I fell your pain. Again, that's why next year is my last year.
Have you noticed the recent trend of people bringing along signs asking players for their shirts for their adorable kids to hold up? There was one just a minute ago aimed at Christian Fuchs. I think it's a bit cheeky and I'll bet they're flogging them on eBay.
Yikes!!!! Like a Sports Center!
Oh - a nearly thing for Posh but the final ball was just too close to Hamer. Mariott wasn't pleased with the delivery.
Ben Hamer forced to dive at the feet of Andy Marriott off a Posh pass. Better from the L1 side.
The Posh get a goal back!!!
GOAL !!!! POSH PULL ONE BACK FROM A CORNER.
GOAL! Post do have a goal back now! Is this the start of a glorious come-back?
Poor defending and goal keeping as the corner was headed on and Simpson hooked through a group of bodies and through Ben Hamer's legs.
Danny Lloyd wins a Posh corner off of Danny Simpson.
This is another excellent example of teams taking the foot off the gas and allowing inferior teams back into it. Why do they do that? It makes no sense to me. Just keep playing!
I was trying to think of the other team that wear red socks with their blue shirts... it just came to me
Pompey!!
White shorts tho
The first substitution of the match is from the Posh as Morais is on for Leo Lopes.
It was Hughes, not Simpson , with the Posh goal.
Great info, UWS!
Ihenacho could have had a hat-trick as a cross went fizzing across the box and he just failed to make a connection.
Ndidi on for Harvey Barnes and Marc Albrighton on for Iborra as Claude Puel changes things up with a double substitution.
Great save by Jonathan Bond from Diabate.
Damari Gray with a long range effort not too far wide.
Bond or one of the defenders must have had a touch as it was a Foxes corner. it led to a Posh counter that came to naught.
Posh still showing some life, with Marriot nicking the ball off Silva. When he spread the ball wide, he was hoping for a return pass but Silva got back to clear.
Gray with a long range effort comfortably saved by Bond.
Marc Albrighton was not too far off from scoring with a spectacular long range effort. A poor pass from Morais intended for Maddison made it's way to Albrighton/.
Oh - Marriott had a chance there, but his first touch brought him wide. Hamer closed the angles and saved easily.
Kelechi Ienacho is about to be withdrawn now - why not let him stay on to get his hat-trick?
Then off the resulting goal kick, better from Morais as a quality through ball found Marriott , who shot straight at Ben Hamer.
That's a fair point, mate. Claude Puel cannot use the excuse that there is a Prem match in midweek because Ihenacho is not a regular starter.
The final roll of the roulette wheel and to the dismay of Bob, Ihenacho is withdrawn in place of Chilly./
Good display by the Posh in the second half
I am off for walkies with Shad
I'll be back for the 10 o'clockers
Ndidi has a chance after some neat interplay but he Ndoesn't hit the target with the long range effort.
Enjoy your walkies, mate!
Ndidi was not too far off with a long range effort prior to that,
I second that. Enjoy walkies.,
Chilly misses a sitter as he shoots straight at Bond with just Bond to beat. Ihenacho would have put that away.
Albrighton has a pass cleared for a corner as the Posh defense is being ripped to shreds due to fatigue.
GOAL! Diabete puts the match to bed with his second strike!
GOAL !!!! GRAY GOES ON A SOL RUN , HIS POWERFUL SHOT IS WELL SAVED THEN DIBATE PUTS AWAY THE REBOUND FOR THIS SECOND DEBUT GOAL
As Posh pressed forward, Gray was able to streak through and rip a shot that Bond could only parry. Diabate mopped up.
The final roll of the dice from Grant McCann as a young Borg is on for Maddison.
Morais scores with a great finish, but is flagged offside for the Posh.
Into stoppage time
GOAL! Now it's Ndidi who Ndoes the damage to Posh.
1-5 - wallop!
GOAL !!!! NDIDI SCORES FOR THE FOXES AS DIABATE JUST WALKED THROUGH THE POSH DEFENSE AND LAID IT ON FOR AN EASY TAP IN. NOW 1-5 TO THE FOXES.
That's it as it finishes 1-5 to the Foxes in a rout.
Easy win then for the Foxes on the road. I'm off for a shower.
Back for the 10 AM matches . A moment's silence from the DW while Notts County vs the Swans is underway
I'm back just in time for kick-off at Wigan. We haven't seen any real giant killing exploits as of yet, but perhaps this is the moment.
They're off from the DW
A taste of the L1 promotion race for the Hammers as they needed a replay to defeat the Shrews last round and now at the L1 leaders and 2013 FA Cup winners, Wigam
A handful of Championship matches going on as well, including league leaders and presumptive champions Wolves visiting our old stomping grounds at Portman Road.
Watching Wigan vs the Hammers on the telly . My choices on the link are the Teesiders vs the Seagulls and Notts County vs the Swans. I opted for Notts County vs the Swans.
Notts County, second in L2 , managed by Kevin Nolan
The best known Wigan players are former United academy player, Nick Powell, Norn Ireland striker , Will Grigg, and skipper, Sam Morsy, born and raised in England, but who will represent Egypt in the World Cup this Summer.
GOAL! Will Griggs is on fire! Wigan in front!
GOAL !!! WILL GRIGG HEADS WIGAN INTO THE LEAD.
Great header there from the Norn Ireland striker and the L1 club has taken a shock lead over the Hammers.
Back from a walk in balmy conditions(well, above freezing)
Making some English toasting bread as the Latics take the lead over the Hammers
I think the Hammers players are still in the dressing room as Wigan players were given all sorts of space to pass the ball around and a great cross was headed in the upper 90 by Will Grigg in the upper 90 at the far post with a free header in the six yard box.
Oh - nearly 2-0! Dunkling ruled offside.
Two nil... No... offside
Offside on the second touch
Then Wigan have a goal disallowed for offside.
Just tuned into Final Score on the Red Button channel
The Saints take the lead vs the Hornets.
Norwich ahead at Brentford
James Maddison , not the President , gives the Canaries the lead at the Bees in the Championship
Ex President James Madison with the Canaries goal...a thunderbolt
How was the walkies, mate?
Penalty for Millwall in the Cup vs Rochdale... One nil
Goal at Portman Road
Hosts on top. but Wolves take the lead
Goal in the Cup
Hull 1 Forest 0
Just over from Nick Powell with a long range effort . He practically never did that with United.,
Coventry doing well in the Cup
They were relegated from the Prem in 2001...what other team went down with them that year?
It was a nice walk... not frigid
The Gunners could have been trailing in that match
The Evil Lions take the lead vs Rochdale.
East Fife are playing Forfar today!!!
Lets hope for a 4-5 result
East Fife Four Forfar Five
Did Citeh go down with Coventry?
Plymouth two ups at Oldham
Correct MUR
Coventry were a complete mainstay in the top league while we were there and onwards
Hudders take the lead vs Brum
How about East Fife Five Forfar Four. The next best option?
Wolves lead 1-0 at Portman Road. Ivan Cavaleiro kickstarts the move, before Barry Douglas tees up Matt Doherty who heads home.
Renato Sanches with a long range effort straight to the Notts keeper then booked for a clumsy foul.
Just five minutes late with the your score report Dahlgren
Are you watching Swansea MUR? How?
Pompey fall behind to the high flying Shrews
Northants takes the lead at Ewood Park
Steve Mountie powers home an opener for Hudders over Brum.
Sorry, mate - you're always quicker than I am at NocitoSportscenter. I only have the one telly! ;-)
Yes. I'm watching Notts County on Gooner's FOX link. There's the Teesider's vs the Seagulls if you prefer that match?
Celtic take the lead vs Hibs
I get my goals from Final Score
You miss a lot of the messages!!!
Reload before you post you numpty
Final Score are going to the reporters live in the stands instead of just voices...I like it
Leigh Griffiths gives Celtic the lead vs Hibs
Rochdale have equalized at the Den
I do me best, mate.
Glad that you're still able to use Gooner's Fox Soccer 2 Go link. I haven't used it in a while as I link through TWC at work.
Bristol City are down to ten men at home to QPR
Renato Sanches's disasterous spell with Swansea continues as he hobbles off injured. Ki is on in his place. Can he unlock the Notts County defense?
When I plump for a new laptop, possibly this summer, I'll start dialing up the Final Score link. Right now, I'm running on fumes and I'm lucky to have as many applications open as I do.
Nathan Baker has been sent off for Bristol City vs QPR. Still 0-0 at Ashton Gate.
Barnsley take the lead against red hot Fulham
Bristol City are down in 10 men at home to QPR, with Nathan Baker sent off for a rash challenge on Josh Scowen.
An injury for the Hammers as Obbiang appears to have been hammered.
It appears that Reece Oxford will replace Obbiang, who gets a standing ovation as he's stretchered off.
Oxford comes on for the injured Obiang.
I feel your pain, Bob. I'm running on fumes as well with all my devices.
WAY HAY! Rochdale tie it up at the Evil New Den.
You both stink with updates
Rochdale's goal announced
YOu guys ignore my comments
Bryne tries to square it for Grigg - out for a a corner.
Final Score is starting to pause every 30 seconds
VERY ANNOYING
Have you guys seen The Post?
You're a hard taskmaster, UWS.
The Tigers now two up vs Forest
Hull two up vs the Gunners slayers
I haven't yet. We were meant to see it in Virginia over the holidays with Kate's mum but ended up seeing the film about the Getty kidnapping, "All the Money in the World." I'm looking forward to it. Have you seen it, mate?
I don't ignore the updates. I have really horrible technology and would be reading and never typing if I read every comment.
I saw it last night
I enjoyed it
Of course, it is like All the President's Men
Sometimes I post updates with additional information, like names of scorers - and also to irritate UWS, of course. ;-)
The Swans with a chance as Narsingh puts in a cross and Bony has a header saved by Cullen.
Shay Given and Lee Osman in the studio for the BBC
Better than what they have had on recently
That's a classic - one of my favorites. I love films about the newspaper business.
I do the same. my updates may be later, but there is more detailed information, so it's not completely identical.
Swansea take the lead right at the 45th minute
I get the scores out right away to inform.... forget the particulars!!
GOAL !!!! NARSINGH GIVES THE SWANS THE LEAD WITH A GREAT SHOT IN THE CORNER. A POOR CROSS WAS POORLY CLEARED THEN kI, THE SUB UNLOCKED THE NOTTS DEFENSE WITH A GREAT PASS TO NARSINGH, WHO SCORED WITH A GREAT FINISH.
So we're not really duplicating efforts, are we? It's all good.
Sounds like we combine to give great updates. We all have something different to offer.
They never did, but I wish they had at some point somehow mentioned Woodward or Bernstein just by passing their desks
They were both working there by then, don't you think?
Ten man Bristol City take the lead vs QPR
Interviews with a the coaching staff at Meadow Lane at half time
A couple of important blocks there to ensure that Wigan go in 1-0 up at the interval.
I would think so. When are they going to make a movie about the Trump investigation?
Blackburn losing at home to Northampton
They had just made it into the top two
This Fox guys has managed to mispronounce the first two teams he talks about
MiddlesBORO....It's MiddlesBROUGH
Then he says SwanSEA... it's SwanZEE
Geez
I've had to give up on Final Score on the Red Button for awhile... it was just pause after 10 seconds!!
I am so spoiled
IS England by the North Zee?
Are you on his side MUR????
The second half is underway from the DWA s Davie Moyes makes a second substitution. Jao Mario on for Pablo zaba.
Second half underway at the DW
Can the 2013 winners knock out the 1980 winners(has it been that long ago Johnno?)
I'm neutral, but just suffering the same symptoms as Bob.
WOW !!! nearly forty year since the Hammers won the Cup . How time flies!
I'm back just in time to see Masuaku get his marching orders - West Ham down to ten men!
