The Saints vs the Spuds Sunday Footie
It's the only show in town as the Saints host the Spuds. It's not the most anticipated match on paper, but it's a must win for both teams. The Saints are surprisingly in the drop zone while the Spuds need a win to stay in the top five. It's a battle of Argie managers wits as MO Po returns to St. Mary's

Marco Silva became the eighth Premier League manager to walk the plank ,being sacked by the Hornets. They had won only one of the last eleven matches since he had been approached for the Toffees managerial position.
A heft Le Tiss in attendance for the Saints.
A moment's applause to honor Cyrille Regis.
You beat me to the punch this morning, mate. I had a lie in and now Kate and are busy preparing for a dinner party at the Cottage tonight. So, I'll delete the thread I posted and will chip in from time to time on the match.
I saw that news about Marco Silva. Can you name the other seven managers to get the sack this season?
Cheers, mate. I slept in late too, feeling really well rested

I will give it a try.

2) Fat Ron
3) Slaven the Slav
4) Ronny The Bore
5) Shakespeare
6) Mark Hughes
7) Pubis
All named with puns included.
I forgot that your semester starts tomorrow. Wishing you a great semester
IS a ninth about to make the list?
A cross from JWP found Tadic at the opposite side of the box and his cross was cut out.
The Spuds win a corner off a swerving cross. Sissy wins another corner off a short corner.,
GOAL !!!! THE SAINTS TAKE A SURPRISE LEAD. RYAN BERTRAND WENT ON A RUN DOWN THE LEFT AND HIS CROSS WAS DIVERTED IN BY DAVINSON SANCHEZ FOR AN UNFORTUNATE OG.
Nice goal there for the Saints, a bit against the run of play, but that should open things up nicely.
GOAL! Harry Kane equalizes - who else?!
A pass from Number One Son intended for Harry Kane was not Abel to make it's way to him. Young Jack Stephens cut out the pass and found Tadic. His superb long ball down the left found Bertrand , whose cross was diverted in by Sanchez for an OG>
Well done to you with the sacked managers - all present and correct. I knew you'd know them all.
GOAL !!!HARRY KANE AND ABEL TIES IT UP WITH A HEADER FROM A CORNER.
Cheers, mate. It was fun answering that question.
Aurier won the corner then Ben Davies took the corner that was headed ion by Harry Kane.
A draw really doesn't help wither team. The worst start to a Prem season for the Saints since 2004-2005 when they were relegated.
A rocket of a pass from Ben Davies is diverted inches wide by Sissy off a really long Spuds possession.
Jack Stephens should have given the Saints the lead. Dembele had fouled Hoijberg and the free kick from JWP was headed inches wide by Stephens, who ha d a free header.
Absolutely - that's what's making this such an enthralling encounter. Both sides really have to go for it.
Harry Kane plays a diagonal pass to Aurier , who lays it off for Dier as his shot from Just outside the box is comfortably saved by McCarthy.
Then Gabbiadini lays it off for Mario Lamina , who shoots straight at the tapeworm.
Welcome back. How is the party planning?
It's 1-1 at the end of a surprisingly competitive half.
Going pretty well, mate. House is dusted and vacuumed. Next up - sticking the chicken and dumplings in the crockpot to go for the afternoon.
Glad to here everything is going well. wish I was there.
The second half is underway from St. MAry's
Stephens booked for grabbing Harry Kane's shirt
Worm comfortably saves a long range effort from JWP
Sissy booked for a foul from behind on Bertrand,
Alpha Romeu booked for sandwiching Delle Alli.
Looks like Eric Dier is in the wars here with Tadic. A bit of bleeding above the brow after that clash.
A long range effort from Delle Alli is just wide.
An attacking switch as Boufal is on for Hoijberg
Then straight at Worm by Gabbiadini off a pass from Boufal.
Agreed, mate. Those two have been at it this entire half.
Harry Kane has a shot deflect off of Jack Stephens for a Spuds corner.
A long range effort from Vertonghen us wide after the Spuds could not get several shots off,.
Lamela on for Number One Son.
Serge Aurier has picked up a knock and in a like for like switch is replaced by Kieran Trippier.
Dembele fouls Ryan Bertrand just outside the Spuds box and is booked for the umpteenth foul
Trippier booked for a foul on Boufal
Another like for like as Steven Davis is on for Mario Lamina.
Seventeen year old Irishman, Michael Obafemi, is on for Gabbiadini on the final roll of the dice for Mo Pelligrino.
OH! Nice footwork from the Spuds in the Saints box and a pass from Sissy finds Lamela , whose close range effort is diverted inches wide by Jack Stephens.
The final roll of the dice from Mo Poo and boos either because Dembele, who is being replaced for tons of fouls or for Wanyama , who is coming on , for being a former Saints player.
OH!!! Minutes after coming on for his debut, Obafemi should have given the Saints the lead. Tadic was played down the right and his superb pass found the teenager. who shot sideways four yards out from goal, completely unmarked.
Lamela has a shot blocked for a Spuds corner. Some head tennis off the corner as the Spuds keep possession then Harry Kane shoots just wide.
Now it's a big chance for HK right at the death. Put it wide!
Into stoppage time.
This seems like a fair score to me from what I've seen. Both sides have had chances to win it.
A minute of five stoppage time minutes have been played.
Agreed. A dull , dreary second half to match the weather has come to life the last ten minutes,
It would be a cruel blow for either side to score now.
Wanyama not known for his scoring, shoots well wide from long range,
Agreed. Especially cruel for the Saints to lose late on.
Gooner will be happy with this result.
Do you think Soton have edged this one?
It finishes 1-1. Probably a better result for the Saints in what can be considered a creditable result.
That's it, mate. Both sides share the spoils, as justice would have it. Not great for either, as you said before. Thanks for leading the charge today; sorry to be away for large chunks of it.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
I think a draw is a fair result. it was an evenly played match
Cheers, mate. Wishing you and Kate a great start to the new semester.
