Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Afternoon, David - thanks for getting us going. I'm very much looking forward to sharing this one with you.
" The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia?". No the night the lights went out at the Bridge . Will that delay the kickoff?

Substitutes: McGregor, Grosicki, Toral, Batty, Keane, Campbell, Clackstone.
Good afternoon, Bob. Glad to help. Looking forward to sharing the afternoon with you as well.
The lights are back on. Perhaps it was by design.
That's interesting. New boy Olly Giroud gets a start, while my GBB Alvaro Morata is consigned to the bench. I know to pick 'em, eh?
I think Morata is just getting back from injury and Conte wants to see how he fares against the likes of the struggling Tigers. Next Barca on Tuesday
They're off from SB
The Foxes vs the Evil Blades kicked off a quarter of an hour ago. Still 0-0 from the KP.
GOAL !!! WILLIAN SCORES BRIGHT AND EARLY THANKS TO THE HIGH PRESS. GREAT FINISH FROM JUST OUTSIDE THE BOX.
Blimey! I stepped away for a moment to help out Katie in the kitchen and Willian has opened the scoring for the Blues.
The Tigers were trying to be fancy deep in their own half and were picked off by Willian as it deflected off of Ollie. He turned a defender then scored with a curler in the corner from just outside the box , leaving David Marshall without a chance.
Welcome back, Bob. It was a great finish , but the Tigers showed why they're struggling in the Championship.
The Tigers defend frantically and concede a corner.
Taken short by Fab to Willian . Fab gets it back and forces a near post save from David Marshall.
Willian break for Chelsea, goes on a run down the left and his is just too far in front of Ollie.
Diamonde wins a corner off of Cahill. First for the Tigers
Chelski appear to be in total control of this match from the off.
Yes. they are. Nearly scored a second , but shot wide with just the keeper to beat.
Hull have been entirely outclassed so far.
Pedro forces a good save by David Marshall on a Chelski break.
GOAL !!!PEDRO SCORES THIS TIME AS CHELSEA GO TWO UP.
GOAL! Pedro adds a second goal there. Smooth finish after a long ball over the top.
Michael Dawson cheaply conceded possession that was picked by Rudiger. Several passes later, Ollie laid it off to Fab, who played a Fab long ball over the Tigers defense and Pedro picked his spot past the stranded David Marshall.
The Tigers cheaply concede a corner.
GOAL !!!! WILLIAN SCORES A SUPERB LONG RANGE CURLER IN THE CORNER. HIS SECOND AS CHELSEA GO THREE UP.
GOAL! Wow - Willian is on fire! He fires home Chelski's third! Hull down and out in the Cup.
Young Kevin Stewart having a tough match for the Tigers. He had his pocket picked by Ollie for the last goal, now booked.
The Chelsea goal started from the back. A dozen passes later a stray pass went to Kevin Stewart and he immediately coughed it up to Ollie, who passed to Willian for that great finish.
It's 0-0 at the half between the Foxes and the Evil Blades.
Some derisive applause from the Hull City fan base at that weak shot that didn't really test Willy Cab's goal. Hull in truth haven't had a sniff in this half.
Of course, I'm pulling for the Foxes this afternoon. But you knew that.
GOAL! Olly Giroud adds a fourth - wallop!
GOAL !!! OLLIE SCORES HIS FIRST FOR CHELSEA AS THEY GO FOUR UP.
Even though it was a miss hit shot by Cahill the ball went back to him and his pass found new boy, Emerson, who went on a run down the left and his pass almost went in off of Ollie from a yard out.
Absolutely. You wouldn't have it any other way
A pair of stoppage time minutes.
Chelsea is cruising as they are four up at the half.
Callum Hudson-Odoi is on for Pedro, who is being rested with the match against his former club, Barca , in mind.
And we're off in the second half. The game is just about done and dusted but Chelski could push on and score 8 I suppose.
The second half is underway.
It's still 0-0 between the Foxes and Evil Blades with a little over an hour played.
I replied to your question yesterday evening regarding my Summer schedule.
A long Tigers free kick is headed across the box and teenager, Ampadu is forced to clear over for a Tigers corner.
PENALTY TIGERS OFF THE CORNER AS WILSON, WHO WON THE INITIAL FREE KICK SI TRIPPED IN THE BOX BY FAB.
Well, well, well. Hull City have a penalty! Fabregas gives it away.
Wilson is down , holding his shoulder. It would be a shame if he has to be subbed.
Looks like Dawson has landed on his shoulder and popped it out. That's going to be painful.
Wilson, that is.
Long time Tiger, David Meyler , to take.
David Meyler to take now....
And it's saved by Willy Cabs!
Poor penalty, really, but Willy Cabs had to guess right. Good stop. But Hull must be thinking that it's just not their night.
IT'S SAVED BY WILLY CABS. NOT THE GREATEST PENALTY IF TRUTH BE TOLD AS IT WAS AT A GREAT HEIGHT TO BE PUSHED AWAY THEN MICHAEL DAWSON HEADED THE REBOUND STRAIGHT TO WILLY CABS.
Did you see my response last night about the question regarding my Summer schedule?
Bob will be pleased that Vardy has given the Foxes the lead against his hometown club, the Evil Blades.
Wilson is down again , off that injury he picked up winning the penalty.
Jon Toral is on for Harry Wilson.
Ampadu heads out for a Tigers corner.
A foul is called after the Tigers wreaked havoc off the corner.
I'm quite pleased. I hate Vardy and the Foxes. But I hate the Blades even more.
Another Chelsea youngster about to come on as Conte is resting some players ahead of the match vs Barca.
Some Fab applause as he's replaced by LHS student, Kyle Scott for a first team debut for the Blues.
Old man Fabregas departs. Youngster Kyle Scott comes on for his debut.
The second half has been more like a friendly than a competitive match.
It sure has. This one is over and I guess Chelsea don't want to risk injury with the match vs Barca in mind.
Kyle Scott cheaply concedes possession to Aussie international, Jackson Irvine, who shoots well over with just Willy Cabs to beat.
Willy Cabs blocks a close range effort for a Tigers corner.
Willian nearly gets his hat-trick. Great block int he end by Irvine.
Great turn around by David Marshall from Zappacosta as Chelsea break off the Tigers corner.
Our boy Morata replaces new boy Giroud for the last twenty minutes.
The final roll of the dice from Conte and it's like for like as Morata is on for Olly.
Former United trainee , Frazier Campbell , on for Nouha Dicko, who receives an E for effort, but much of his work was in vain.
Drinkwater concedes a free kick to the Tigers about 25 yards from goal.
Morata is tackled for a corner off a pass from Willian.
Clark heads out for another Chelsea corner.
Kyle Scott wins another Chelsea corner.
The corner is headed out and David Marshall does well to turn around a long range effort from Drinkwater.
It's over at the KP as the Foxes hold on to defeat the Evil Blades 1-0 thanks to a goal from Vardy midway through the second half.
Hull to give them credit have kept trying to play and are still knocking on the door trying to get a consolation.
And it's a debut yellow for young Kyle Scott.
The schedule tomorrow :
A return to Hillsborough for Carlos Carvalho . Kickoff at 7:30 on FS on FS 1
Baggies vs Saints on FS PLUS at 10 AM.
Terriers vs United on FS 2 , kicking off at 12:30 PM.
You will notice that the 10 AM matches are not being televised.
Diomande with a free header from close range and well wide.
Jackson Irvine shows his frustration with a foul from behind on teenager, Callum Hudson-Odoi.
Daniel Batty on for Jackson Irvine.
OH!!! Willian unlucky not to get a hat-trick as a long range effort crashes off the post.
Oh - Willian rockets a shot off the post. He really deserves a hat-trick. What a great performance.
A pair of stoppage time minutes as the Tigers missed a great chance. Frazier Campbell passed when he should have shot and Ampadu cut it out as it was gathered by Willy Cabs.
It's over as Chelsea win 4-0 with all their goals scored in the first half. Chelsea took their foot off the gas in the second half.
Chelsea and the Foxes are the first two teams in the quarters .
That's that, then. Chelski and Leicester are safely into the quarterfinals. Who will join them? We'll see starting tomorrow morning. I'll look forward to chatting with you then, mate. Cheerio for now!
Will you be around for the action tomorrow.
Cheers, mate. It was great chatting with you. Enjoy the rest of the day. Look forward to chatting with you tomorrow morning.
