A Busy Day of Cup and League Action
Morning, chaps! It's a busy morning of FA Cup Quarterfinal and domestic league action and I couldn't be more excited about watching it. It all starts in a moment with the Swansea v. Spurs quarterfinal. The Premiership kicks off at the usual 3pm GMT time. I'll have my eye on the Yorkshire Derby clash between Leeds and Not a Big Club. And we wrap things up at the end of the day with Liverpool v. Watford in the Premiership. Much, much later is a rare Saturday evening FA Cup tie for United.

Subs: Britton, Narsingh, Routledge, Mulder, Fernandez, Roberts, Byers.
Tottenham Hotspur: Vorm, Trippier, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Davies, Sissoko, Dier, Eriksen, Lucas Moura, Son, Lamela.
Subs: Lloris, Alderweireld, Llorente, Dembele, Alli, Foyth, Aurier.
Referee: Kevin Friend (Leicestershire).
Tottenham Hotspur go into this game as much-fancied favourites. But just look at what can happen in the cup. This has the potential to become a thrilling encounter. Here’s hoping. It’s the FA Cup quarters! It’s on!
Good morning, Bob. Glad to join you for the cup/ Prem action.
We're ready to go then. Spurs in their change strip of all blue. The Swans in their traditional all white. Ross Dyer and Stuart Holden on the mics. We're away!
Just a reminder that starting with this round, no replays. If it's tied at ninety minutes then extra time then if it's still tied it will be decided on penalties.
Morning, MUR - hope you have a strong cuppa by your side. It's a very early morning for you in Texas.
They're off from The Liberty Stadium
Thanks for that reminder. I'm not sure that I knew that.
A big early shout for a penalty as Nathan Dyer goes for a tumble in the box. No help from Mr. Friend.
Thanks, Bob. It's a brewin on an unusually
warm Summer like morning
That started last year, but all the ties were settled in ninety minutes. If it happens today it would be the first time in the history of the FA Cup prior to the semis.
Are you and Kate doing anything for St. Paddy's Day?
Not a lot of attacking ambition from Spurs at present. Very cagey start for them.
Not a thing, really. Just our usual Saturday routine. How about you and Elizabeth and the kids? Any celebrations in the offing?
Elizabeth and I have two six packs of Rolling Rock , which are green colored bottles. We have some decorations as well.
GOAL! Christian Erickson breaks the deadlock early with a lovely curler into the left corner.
0-1 Spurs!
GOAL !!! ERIKSEN GIVES THE SPUDS THE LEAD.
Nice one, mate - that sounds like a party!
It was the Lamela / Eriksen show. Lamela won the ball deep in his own half then played a one two with Eriksen then passed back to Eriksen , who scored with that lovely curling finish in the upper 90.
Cheers, mate. Elizabeth has everything planned.
Lucas Mora cuts inside and his shot is easily saved by Nordfeldt, who must be thinking that his teammates are shopping at Nordstrom's
“Que sera sera, we’re going to Wembley!” trill the Spurs fans, eyebrows pinging up and down in the knowing fashion. Spurs definitely have the Wembley experience this season.
Any corned beef and cabbage in the offing?
A local Derby just kicked off at the Cottage. Are you sure it's just a normal Saturday?
LOL! I suppose I should alert Kate.
Good tackle there from Mawson to deny Moura the chance to square it into the danger zone.
No . I think just leftover food. The decorations and ale will be the main celebration. Jacquelyn will just be wearing decorations.
I think you should given that the match is on ESPN3. I'm sure viewers will see a nice tidy Cottage,
The red-hot Son sticks the ball in the net off the bar but it's called back for offside. Shame - it would have made a lovely second goal.
Number One Son has a goal disallowed for offside. He was just barely off. Lucky for the Swans or else this would have been done and dusted,.
VAR being engaged now. Looks a hair offside to me.
Kevin Friend consults with VAR , which shows that a goal should have been awarded , but Kevin Friend says offside. What is the point of VAR?
Kevin Friend agrees with me - no goal.
Are you trying to say that if Number One Son had your haircut 100 then he would have been onside?
If the Spuds advance then they will be the home team the remainder of the competition.
It's unusually cold in Britain today and the action will not have done much to warm the hearts of the home fans.,
OH!!! Lucas nearly connected on a nice cross from a few yards out. The Spuds would have gone two up.
I believe so, mate. He should have a visit with my barber.
Oh - Moura was a toe away from latching onto that ball from Erickson who appears to be running this match.
Lamela with a long range effort halfway to Newport where the Spuds played in the Third Round.
Spurs appear to be in control of this one, half an hour in.
Fred is not up to his usual antics because he's been under the weather since Tuesday. We took him to the vet and he's on an antibiotic. Like you, he will be hoping for victory against evil opposition today.
One of the Olsson twins blocks for a Spuds corner.
OH!!! Nordstrom does well to tip a long range pile driver from Eriksen on to the top of the bar and over.
Eric Dier heads over with a near post header off another corner. Why was it a free header?
Kyle Bartley seems to be having a nap this afternoon. He should have stayed at Leeds.
Lamela is put through and his shot is blocked by Nordstrom for a corner.
Nothing comes of it as we begin three minutes of stoppage time.
GOAL !!!LAMELA PUTS THE SPUDS TWO UP . SURELY THIS IS DONE AND DUSTED.
GOAL! Spurs stick the knife in right at the end of the half. Lamella with the strike. Again - no pressure from Bartley.
0-2 Spurs!
I'm off for a half-time snuggle with the missus.
Great finish from Lamela . Nordfeldt threw the ball and Eriksen won a tackle. he passed to Davinson Sanchez. He passed to Lamela , who scored with a well placed finish from 25 yards out
The Spuds two up at the half and in complete control
Enjoy. Kate has given the Cottagers the lead in that local derby.
Kate assists on the second goal as the Cottagers go two up on the stroke of halftime then a poor back pass from Bob gifts QPR a goal as the Cottagers lead 2-1 at the half.
Carlos Carvalho makes a double substitution as the second half is about to kick off.
The fake Rebecca Lowe reminds that we're headed into another interminable International break next weekend. Loads of useless friendlies on tap, including a clash between England and Italy.
The second half is underway
And we're away at the Liberty in the second half. Spurs in total control at present.
Oh - great double save by ex-Swan goalie Vorm to keep Spurs in the driver's seat!
OH!!! Former Swans keeper , Worm makes a great save from Tammy Abraham.
Narsingh came on for former Spud, Naughty Naughton. That's an attacking move.
England plays away to Fat Ronnie's Holland on Friday. I have my colonoscopy that morning, so I hope to be around by that afternoon.
Nordstrom does well to turn around a long range effort that was anything but a Dier as it was headed for the upper 90.
High and wide from Sissy.
The Evil Lions take the lead at Barnsley . Bob will not be pleased.
I hope that Dier has his shooting boots on this summer.
That'll be a nice way to recover from the procedure, mate.
Cheers. Will that match be televised?
Lucas Mora with a couple of step overs as he wins a corner off of Van Der Horn.
Swansea got away with one there, as Mawson appeared to handle in the box. Possibly unintentional.
I don't think so, but perhaps there will be a dodgy link available. Back to the good old days, eh?
I sure hope so. I may be as dodgy as the link.
How was half time. Three goals were scored at the Cottage during that interval.
Spurs to their credit don't seem satisfied with 0-2. They're pushing for more goals. Endless sequence of corners now.
Two local derbies in L2 and the home team has taken the lead in both matches. Abe Lincoln takes the lead vs Grimsby and Notts County on top of Jayne Mansfield.
Abe Lincoln now two up.
Kate's a wee bit sluggish this morning. We had a late night last night.
GOAL! Erickson has his brace. They appear not to need Harry Kane today.
0-3!
GOAL !!! ERIKSEN WITH HIS SECOND AS HE PUTS THE SPUDS THREE UP.
I've just checked on the ESPN availability. They've decided not to stream the Yorkshire Derby. What a load of numpties!
The Spuds won the ball on the high press then Lucas Mora and Dier combined to set up Eriksen , who scored with another long range effort. Nordstrom was caught by the bounce as he just misjudged the shot.
They're showing the match from your house. I guess that's better than nothing
Abe Lincoln now three up.
No wonder why Sunshine has been chirping. In all honesty he's probably asking to be fed.
Sunshine is having a great morning, eh?
Davinson Sanchez booked for a foul.
He's been pretty pleased. Hoping Fred has a better day. He was taken to the vet yesterday and is on antibiotics. Been under the weather since Tuesday
Grimsby pulls one back from the spot on the stroke of halftime as they trail Abe Lincoln 3-1.
The Llorente Express is on for Lucas Mora on his return to The Liberty Stadium.
Moura was quietly impressive today. He's been a good pick up for Spurs.
Swansea fans starting to abandon the cause.
They look none too interested heading into the International Break,
The Spuds try to score the perfect goal . Lamela finds Number One Son for an easy tap in and he passes to Llorente and it eludes everyone.
Delle Alli Sandwiched on for Lamela , who helped deliver the knockout punch a while ago.
Delle Alli not very popular in South Wales.
Number One Son has a pass cut out for a corner.
Taken short and Ki fouls former teammate, Ben Davies just outside the Swans box.
A piledriver of a free kick from Eriksen was spilled by Nordstrom then eventually hacked away for another Spuds corner.
Routledge on for Nathan Dyer, which is what his team's performance was today
The teams are just playing out the waning minutes now.
Tom Caroll wins a rare Swans corner against his former teammates.
Agreed. Waiting for this end so I can have some brekkies.
Tammy Abraham down injured in a season filled with injuries.
A trio of stoppage time minutes.
The Spuds will be at home the remainder of the competition.
The FA Cup represents Tottenham's only real chance for silverware this season. They won't catch Citeh at the moment. And now they're out of the Champions League.
The Spuds will be playing in their 21st FA Cup semi.
Agreed. The same for United and Chelsea.
A bit unfair for the other sides. That's why Spurs shouldn't be able to use Wembley as their home stadium.
It's over and the Spuds easily win 0-3 at The Liberty. Off to the semis.
That's that, then. Spurs cruised that one today, much to the embarrassment of Swansea. They're main concern is the league, of course.
I'm off to the shower ahead of the 11am EST kickoffs.
Back for the main kickoffs today, with a bit of the old MOT blasting in the background. Come on, you Whites!
NBC is favoring us with the relegation dogfight between Huddersfield and Palace. Here is the team news:
Huddersfield: Lossl, Hadergjonaj, Schindler, Malone, Hogg, Mooy, Pritchard, Ince, Quaner, Mounie, Zanka.
Subs: Coleman, Smith, Billing, Kachunga, Lowe, Van La Parra, Depoitre.
Crystal Palace: Hennessey, Wan-Bissaka, Sakho, Van Aanholt, Tomkins, Milivojevic, Schlupp,McArthur, Townsend, Benteke, Zaha.

back for the 11 AMErs andn BCSN sdhowing the relegation six pointer: The Terriers vs Palace as they're off from W Yorkshire.
We're away in this crucial bottom of the table match.
Quick start for Palace in West Yorkshire.
To be honest, NBC has slim pickings today due to the Cup quarters. Only three matches in progress. There's this one plus the Cherries vs Baggies and Potters vs Toffees, so this is probably the best NBC can do
Oh - Milivojevic curls a free kick just past the post. Close call there for the Serb. Palace in full flow so far.
Great start by Palace . Two early corners then a free kick from Milovoyjevic just wide.
Sounds like it's another snowy day in Blighty.
The Cottagers were two up in their W London Derby, but it finished Desmond. The Evil Lions won 0-2 at struggling Barnsley.
Isn't it unusually late in the season for snow in Blighty?
Newport County take the lead vs Luton while table topping Accrington Stanley take the lead vs new boys, Forest Green in a battle of two of the smallest Football League Clubs
In L1 the Gils vs table topping Blackburn has been postponed due to a frozen pitch
Oxford takes the lead vs Posh
All quiet in the Premier League in the opening 10 minutes as everyone likes to get used to the snow and cold.
Sacko with a horrible back pass then makes up for it with a superb last ditch tackle on Mounie.
I would think so. It's expected to be bitter cold here in WNY this weekend. But sunny right now.
Scunny takes the lead vs the Shrews while the Real Dons take the lead at Rochdale in a relegation six pointer.
It's overcast , warm , and muggy here. Was pleasant earlier this week.
Warming up in the Championship too. No goals in those matches either other than the early kickoffs.
Coventry takes the lead at Crewe.
The snow has started at Huddersfield.
Starting to snow in W Yorkshire, which must include ER.
Stevenage takes the lead at Port Vale. In the National League, Dover takes the lead vs top of the table Macclesfield.

The Canaries take the lead vs The Reading Railroad.
Brum takes the lead vs the Tigers in a relegation six pointer. A fair number of those today
An addition to the Palace injury list as Schlupp is down and Cabaye, who is just returning from injury set to replace him. The last thing Uncle Woy needs.
Jason Schlupp has hobbled off, creating a problem for Woy. Yonas Cabaye comes on for him.
Woking takes the lead vs Wrexham
Zaha wins a Palace corner.
GOAL! Tomkins has given Palace the lead! A vital goal for them!
GOAL !!! THOMKINS GIVES PALACE A PRICELESS LEAD OFF THE CORNER.
Lossl made the initial save from Thomkins off the corner then the central defender dispatched the rebound like an experienced striker.
Palace out of the bottom three and replaced by Saints , who have a Cup match at the DW tomorrow.
Rotherham takes the lead vs Northants
Hi Boys
Sorry I have been a miss this morning
Doing odds and ends
I am here for a while
The Terriers win their first corner of the match. A horrible corner from Tom Ince is easily cleared.
Good morning, UWS. Great to have you around.
Wolves takes the lead vs Richard Burton as do the Teesiders at the Bees.
Just dialed up Final Score
Norwich two up
We're watching the right match. This is the only Prem goal to have been scored so far
Morning, UWS - how are you, mate?
Swindon takes the lead at Cambridge as does Yeovil at Colchester
TGIS... such a long week. Just getting abused by kids and there is no consequences... so depressing
Luton ties it up at Newport County.
Sparky Hughes leads the Saints in the Cup this weekend but as we stand his first league match will be in the drop zone
Sorry to hear that. At least Spring Break is not too far away. Is that correct?
Red card at Stoke... The host are down to ten men. Charlie Adam launched in two footed into Rooney
I suppose that's true, MUR - there certainly is a lot at stake in this one. A win for Palace today would lift Palace out of the relegation zone and over both Soton and West Ham. A win for Huddersfield would have them on 34 and very close to numerical survival.
Rochdale ties it up vs the Real Dons
Correct
It is the week after Easter... too early though!! It will be a long stretch from April until late June
Definitely. Our season is pretty much over. You lot still have a lot at stake.
Sparky Hughes vs Paul Cook is a touchline scuffle waiting to happen. Also a potential banana skin.
2-1 at Carrow Road
Pompey take the lead at Oldham
Decent game at ER
Both teams getting chances
That must be the week of the first leg of the Champions League quarters. Easter is early this year.
I hope plenty for us - we could use a morale boosting win against a local rival.
Congratulations. Delighted for Pompey.
PLAY UP!
Brentford 1 Boro 1
Top of the table Accrington Stanley ahead v Forest Green
They were NINTH on Boxing Day.....what a run!
It certainly is. We usually have it in April, right? Easter Sunday is March 31. We have April Fool's Day off from classes. I'll still go in to the office to pull some pranks, though.
Fred has been under the weather the past few days. A win vs Ridsdale's lads would help him.
I am still so fed up with my lot right now!
Jose was an idiot during he 12 minute rant at the pressy
Canaries get their two goal lead back against Japs Chaps from the spot
Easter falls on April Fools Day this year. That's rather unusual.
Well done Dr Bob
Red Card for Stoke vs the Toffees?
Plymouth equalize at home to Bristol Rovers...just a bit of gossip
Well done indeed, Bob!
Motley Crewe ties it up vs Coventry
Exeter takes the lead at struggling Morecambe and None Too Wise.
Nice slide tackle by young Bissaka.
Bristol Rovers take the lead back immediately
Bristol Rovers now lead 1-2 at Argyle.. That's not idle gossip either.
Fox really need to lose the FA Cup
This morning's match was on FS1 but the other 3 matches are on FS2... no HD... crappy picture
Cheers, lads. I love a good April Fool's gag. I've had several corkers over the years.
Only a single Prem goal today, but only three matches today. We saw it.
agreed. I think the FA Cup is losing out to the bloody Bundesliga.
Dover two up vs table topping Macclesfield in the National League.
A minute of stoppage time at the John Smith's
Coming to the end of the first half - Palace still sitting pretty.
The Fox coverage is a travesty.
Make that two minutes
Lost my FS link...bugger
Palace one up at the half in a relegation six pointer.
