Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

I thought the Pools Panel had become extinct due to global warming, but I guess they will be called into action in March , of all months.
The Toffees January signing , Tosun , makes his first start for the Toffees. He doesn't like playing in cold weather. How will that work today?
They're off from a chilly Turf Moor.
Looks like a good several inches of snow were shoveled off the pitch today.
Gudmunsson has a long range deflected effort easily saved by Pickford. It all started with a long kick from Nick Pope.
This will be an interesting match because both keepers will be discussed in terms of England keepers this Summer. Pickford looks like almost the odds on favorite to start in goal for England while Nick Pope may be making the trip to Russia as well.
Martina fouls Aaron Lennon either because he dislikes the Beetles or because he did not want to be embarrassed early on.
Burnley dominating early on as Ashley Barnes passes back to Gudmunsson who shoots well wide from long range.
Burnley looking for their first win in 2018 and their first in eleven matches.
The first chance of the match of the match for the Toffees . They had a throw near the corner flag. It broke to Siggy, who showed great foot work. He laid a pass on a plate for Tom Davies for an easy tap in, but greedy Theo got in the way and shot in Row H.
Aaron Lennon keen to prove the Toffees wrong for selling him, puts in a great cross for Burnley. A poor clearance breaks to Jack Cork, who blasts over from ten yards out.
Gudmunsson makes a solo run ion the box and Pickford finger tips his pass away then Matty Lowton wins a Burnely corner. Taken by Gudmunsson and headed away
The Toffees win a free kick as Ashley Westwood fouls Calvert-Lewin.
GOAL !!!! CERIK TOSCIN GIVES THE TOFFEES THE LEAD WITH A A WELL PLACED HEADER AGAINST THE RUN OF PLAY.
I'm still brushing up on Turkish. It's Cenk Tosun. It started with the free kick from Siggy that was headed away, but he won the ball back. After a couple of one twos with Theo , who put in a cross from the right that was headed ob by Seamus Coleman and headed in from six yards out by Tosun.
The Toffees went on another counter and Nick Pope easily saved from Tosun.
Calvert-Lewin leads a Toffees counter then loses control of the ball and is guilty of a reckless foul on Stephen Ward and is the first player of the match booked.
Theo uses his speed to lead a counter after some desperate Toffees defending . He plays a one two with Tosun then shoots right at Nick Pope from a narrow angle when a pass was a better option.
OH!!!! A Banks like save from Pickford as Matty Lowton puts in a great cross and a close range header from Ashley Barnes was superbly turned around.
Interesting that Gareth Southgate is in attendance as both keepers in this match could be in the England squad this Summer.
The Toffees win their first corner of the match.
The corner from Siggy is headed away then a long range effort that was never Gana threaten Nick Pope.
Ashley Barnes gets on to a long ball, but his shot is well blocked by former teammate, Keane, who may be in the England squad.
Theo gets on to a pass from Siggy, but his shot is easily saved by Nick Pope then Barnes shoots right at Pickford.
Ashley Westwood booked for a rash foul on Tom Davies after a superb tackle by Seamus Coleman on Gudmunsson.
Theo guilty of a high foul on Stephen Ward, who made it look worse than it was. Poor by Ashley Westwood , trying to get him booked.
Great free kick from Gudmunsson and it was not a clean contact by Lennon, but it broke to Ben Mee as Pickford rushed out to gather before the Burnley right back could get a shot off.
Tom Davies high and wide with a long range effort.
A pair of stoppage time minutes.
The Toffees are one up at the half where Burnley dominated possession, but the Toffees had the clearer cut chances.
Morning, MUR - I'm spending the morning finishing up the shoveling from yesterday. I should be able to join you for the "abbreviated" schedule at 10am EST.
Thanks for getting us going this morning!
A sight that Bob will not want to see as Chris Wood is on in place of Jeff Hendrick. second half underway
Cheers, mate. It's a pleasure. Hope you stay warm. Take care and look forward to chatting during the 10 AM matches.
Chris Wood forces an early corner for Burnley
Ping pongy in the box then a shot from Ben Mee is blocked and goes way back to the halfway line.
Lennon has near post effort turned around by Pickford.
OH!!!! Pickford superbly tips up a close range header from Ben Mee then Chris wood heads the rebound over.
Chris Wood on for Hendrick , which gives Burnley an extra striker. Probably because Burnley did not create enough chances in the first half. They have improved on that early in the second half.
Morning David... and the shoveling Bob
We had a lot of snow too. The snow was so wet it blocked my snowblower every five seconds so I had to shovel it all
I'm still sore
The Toffees won a free kick . Siggy whipped it in and Ashley Williams glances a header not too far wide.
Burnley tie it up... deserved from the second half
GOAL !!! ASHLEY BARNES TIES IT UP FOR BURNLEY
Tarkowski picked up a long clearance from Pickford. He passed to Matty Lowton, who found Barnes and he blasted a shot past Pickford at the near post.
Good morning, Dave. Glad you are inside and able to warm up. Hoping you and Bob get warmer weather soon.
Roon on for Tom Davies. Not sure how this will help matters.
Gudmunsson has a shot deflect off of Tom Davies for a Burnley corner.
I think Lennon should have shot or passed it off the other direction
Martina heads out for another Burnley corner.
Bob may not like this, but the introduction of Chris Wood has made Burnley a greater threat in attack.
Did you notice all the matches postponed today? The pools panel may be action for the first time in years. I thought they were defunct due to global warming. Have they ever been needed in March?
Tosun was not as accurate this time as he headed wide with a free header off a great cross.
I did see a lot of the lower divisions were off
I know the Ipswich match was off yesterday
Pickford does well to block a close range effort from Ashley Barnes. Same combination and same move as for the equalizer then blocks from Chris Wood for a Burnley corner.
Only two matches on north of the border. Is it that serious in Scotland?
Niasse on for Tosun in a like for like move.
Everton have a chance... useless volley
Did it stay in the ground?
Theo with a cross blocked then goes on a run and Nick Pope blocks from Roon from close range then fists away. The Toffees then volley well over.
Ashley Westood blocks for a Toffees corner.
I think it landed in Row T. Some lucky fan has a souvenir.
OH!!!! How did Siggy miss that. A cross was poorly headed out. Siggy turned a defender then shot well wide with just Nick Pope to beat.
A shot from Chris Wood deflects off of Michael Keane for a Burnley corner that is headed away. Lennon then has a shot blocked for Burnley's tenth corner of the match
GOAL !!!! BURNLEY HAVE COME FROM BEHIND TO TAKE THE LEAD. CHRIS WOOD HEADS IN A CORNER FROM GUDMUNSSON, GETTING IN FRONT OF ASHLEY WILLIAMS.
Leeds old man nods Burnley in the lead!!
Never come back to win under Dyche
What a shocker.... good delivery, danger area... who da thunk it
Haven't won since December ?
Burnley have never come from behind to win a Prem match while Sean Dyche has been manager. Will this be a first?
That's correct. Last win was 1-0 vs Stoke in a midweek match in mid December.
Nothing is wrong with basics... hit the ball in the danger area to a tall striker or center back
Bloody short corners
Both teams corner takers are from Iceland. England sure could use their talents.
The final roll of the dice from Fat Sam as Bolassie is on for Siggy , presumably to provide more width. Travelling Toffees fans are none too pleased with that final roll.
Toffee fans don't like Siggy coming off
Is Big Sam save?
How has Pardew kept his job? They almost certain to go down. I guess keep him for next season?
Agreed. It's always great to master the basics. Fat Sam, a former central defender, will be reminding Ashley Williams about marking at corners.
Robbie Musty and Kyle believe that Fat Sam will leave at the end of the season. He has improved the Toffees, but they have been in a recent slump.
Ashley Willams gets a straight red...he's not complaining!
Swing of his arm... not nice
Didn't hit him on the face but still nasty
YIKES! It goes from bad to worse for the Toffees as Ashley Williams has been sent off and he's not disputing that. The replay showed it was an unprovoked elbow on Ashley Barnes. He should be out until after the international break.
That should do it for the Toffees. If Fat Sam was unhappy at Williams's marking from the corner then he will be none too pleased at his captain being sent off for being a bloody moron. That's what drives managers bonkers.
Agreed, Dave. Really nasty and stupid. what exactly was he thinking? Was he?
Three minutes of stoppage time for the ten men to try and get an equalizer and for the home team to get a rare come from behind win.
This win would put Burnley five points behind Arsenal for a European spot
The top four go to into the CL
Fifth place, League Cup Winner(not the runner up) and FA Cup Winner(or runner up) go into the EL
With 6th place already set for the EL because of City winning the league. Seventh would be open if Spurs and United meet in the Cup Final. If Arsenal win the EL, would we get more
I don't think so
I think I am right
Fat Sam looks none too amused.
I think you are correct. The extra CL place would replace the EL spot if I'm not mistaken.
Burnley hold on to win after falling behind... not often done
It's over and Burnley have their first ever come from behind win in the Prem under Sean Dyche and their first win in a dozen Prem matches. They win 2-1 as Ashley Williams was sent off late for a nasty elbow.
Spuds vs Terriers will be on NBCSN and the relegation six pointer red and white striped derby between Saints on Potters will be on CNBC.

Just watched the last ever episode of The Good Life on that website I sent to you
Over here, they call the show Good Neighbors for some reason so Americans don't know the significance of the last ever line
They are toasting... To Tom and Barbara and their bizarre life... but it's a good life.... Here's to The Good Life
Back for the 10 AM matches after pet duties. I have both the match on NBCSN and CNBC on. as they're off from St. Mary's
Set to go at Wembley now. I hate the PA announcements and music right before kick-off - the crowd sounds just fine on its own.
Now off from wembley almost two minutes later.
Bright start for Huddersfield here - love it.
Good morning, Bob. Glad you are done shoveling snow.
Only tow matches on North of the border and one already finished as Celtic defeat Morton 3-0 in the Scots Cup. Did they salt the pitch?
A stack of blueberry pancakes has arrived at my side. Yum!
The Spuds now dominating and Delle Alli just fails to connect on a nice pass from Harry Kane. That could have been the lead.
Carlisle take the lead vs Grimsby in one of only two L2 matches.
They're looking for a qualified ref - extraordinary!
Same two involved for the Spuds, but this time Delle Alli punches in a cross that Harry Kane can't quite get to. Too much mustard on the cross sandwiched in?
Forest take the lead vs Brum
They have qualified refs in the Prem? Seriously thought, that is a surprise.
Just as the match starts I have to go on some errands
Ill be back
In the Championship: Joe Lolley has just put Forest a goal up against struggling Birmingham. Birmingham goalkeeper David Stockdale got a hand to his 25-yard effort, but couldn’t keep the ball out.
A Ki goal for the Swans in term of their survival hopes as they take the lead vs the Hammers.
Lolley popped in that goal?
Cheers, Dave. Be safe and hope to chat with you soon.
A big goal for struggling Swasnea City, who go ahead of the Hammers at the Liberty Stadium courtesy of a weak Sung-Yueng Ki effort from the edge of the area that Adrian should have kept out.
Looks like Stoke have been the better team at St. Mary's.
That Spuds long range effort was a real dier of a shot.
Your mate, Mitrovic gives the Cottagers the lead at Pride Park. You and Kate allow such characters at the Cottage?
Bolton take the lead vs PNE and you will be delighted that Bristol City have taken the lead vs Not a Big Club. I'm sure that's not idle gossip, mate.
Aberdeen take the lead vs Killie in the Scots Cup
Oh - Kane had a chance for his 25th, but Lossl did well there. The service from Son has been brilliant.
What does Fred make of the visit to the Evil Den today?
Great close range save by Lossl to keep it 0-0 at Wembley.
Christian Erickson lines up a free kick now. Real danger for Hudders.
Oh - off the wall and the woodwork!
Fred is napping and may have thought that match was going to be called off due to the weather.
Bristol City have taken the lead over Not a Big Club - not a rumor.
Delle Alli booked for a foul on attempted Terriers break. Were they off to the races?
Relegation threatened Bolton have taken the lead over PNE.
We were just giving Sparky his medicine. He was acting like a former Stoke manager
Are you pleased that MLS is starting today. Your Revs travel to Philly while my Orlando Lions hosts Gooner's team.
Kate puts the Cottagers two up at Pride Park Your mate, Mitrovic , scored the first
Eriksen shoots straight at his international teammate, Lossl.
GOAL !!!! NUMBER ONE SON GIVES THE SPUDS THE LEAD.
GOAL! Son reaps his just rewards for a scintillating performance so far!
Spurs 1-0 up!
The Spuds won the ball off a Terriers throw. Vertonghen lobbed a pass to HArry Kane, who chested it to Delle Alli and his through caught out the Terriers defense, leaving Number One Son with the easy chance of rounding Lossl and scoring.
Dembele now down for the Spuds, but back up and play resumes.
Lloris easily saves a soft near post effort from RVLP.
van La Parra jinks inside on his right peg and tries a pop. Easily handled by Lloris.
Looks like Alex Pritchard won't be able to continue. Colin Quana apparently also has a problem.
Fred says that former Toffee, Bryan Oviedo, has given the Black Cats the lead at the Evil Lions. Well done!
Shenanigans at the Liberty Stadium: Mark Noble and his former team-mate, Andre Ayew, engage in quite the battle. It started in the wake of Winston Reid’s injury and it seems Noble is blaming Ayew for the Kiwi’s misfortune. He’s just taken him out with a reducer, but avoids a booking.
Quarner goes off injured for the Terriers as Pritchard getting taped up.
And the Swans have taken advantage of that confusion to pop in a second goal.
Meanwhile, I heard the sound of Swans second goal . A really musical goal scored by Van Der Hoorn.
What did you think of Fred's comment?
In one of the top lower division matches to survive the weather. AN East Anglian Derby as L2 leaders , Luton, take the lead at Cambridge.
Fred made a comment? Honestly, I'd forgotten that MLS was starting today. Cannot be arsed.
Bob will be delighted that Bristol City have gone two up vs Not a Big Club. Is that idle gossip?
Kane pulls the trigger from 8 yards. Smothered by Lossl.
Fred talked about Bryan Oviedo giving the Black Cats the lead at the Evil Lions. We should be encouraging that behavior from Fred. Correct, mate?
Absolutely - well in, Fred!
Josh King scores from the spot to give the Cherries the lead at the KP.
Kyle Reid with both goals for Bristol City. We need to encourage Kyle's conduct as well.
Former Spurs man Chris Hughton in the stands. I'll bet he'd like Potch's job, eh?
Fred is napping, but will be delighted with your words of encouragement.
Shaquiri volleys just wide for Stoke at what looks like a rainy St. Mary's
Chris H will need to dream on about that job and think of the great memories during his career there.
Hey I am back from the store as the Swans go two up
I now have to take Shadow for a walk... he's very persuasive
Spurs playing it about for fun now - in complete control of this match.
You will be delighted that Bristol City have gone three up vs Not a Big Club.
WOW !!! Five minutes stoppage time at St. Mary's
Welcome back, Dave. Stay warm on walkies.
Oh - Delli dallied on that one after he'd got free in the box. Pass was errant.
Welcome back, UWS!
And cheerio again!
Desperate defending from the Terriers and now Prithcard is off injured. Top Billing on in his place that leaves the Terriers with one remaining substitution.
Pritchard does eventually come off then.
Into stoppage time at Wembley . Only a pair of those minutes,.
Bristol City go 3-0 up over playoff rivals Not a Big Club and I couldn't be happier about it.
Delle Alli wins a really late corner.
And that's that for the first half at Wembley - Spurs cruising it right now.
The Spuds one up in a domminant first half and now both channels showing the match at St. Mary's . It's 0-0 at the half as Saints fans are none too pleased.
Second half underway from Wembley
Crouchie is on as a sub for Stoke as Paul Lambert must be sensing a winning goal, Saints players take a while coming out.
The match at St. Mary's is about ninety seconds behind the one at Wembley
I'm back from doing some dishes and laundry to see HK slide in to try to notch a second goal for Spurs.
The Terriers win a rare corner. it's a waste as Vertonghen is fouled.
Welcome back. It's still 1-0 , mate
Number One Son , went down , looking for a penalty . The ref was neither his Friend and surely treated him like Number Four Son.
The first goal of the day in L1 as Bristol Rovers take the lead at the struggling Fake Dons. That's not idle gossip, mate
GOAL! Another great goal for Son!
GOAL !!! NUMBER ONE SON PUTS THE SPUDS TWO UP.
That seemed to come from nothing. Kane out wide right looked up, saw son running into the area and found him with an inch perfect cross. Son finished with a aplomb with a cute header into the corner.
Spurs 2-0 up!
It came off a spell of Terriers pressure.A sloppy back pass found Harry Kane down the right . His world class cross found Number One Son with the easy job of stooping in to score.,
That goal came shortly after Lloris pushed away a powerful long range effort from Tom Ince.
Vertonghen heads in a free kick, but it's disallowed for offside.

Jonathan Hogg booked for a nasty challenge on Aurier.
Crouchie heads on a long ball and Chupo-Moting shoots wide with just Alex McCarthy to beat.

Each ta makes a change at St. Mary's as Gabbiadini is on for Tadic. The Italian scored a late equalizer at Turf Moor last Saturday. Rodriguez-Ruiz on for Chupo-Moting.
Wasall go two up at Southend on Sea.Still no home goals in L1.
A hat-trick for Kyle Reid. Will you celebrate that score by dancing in the snow?
Lamella on for Number One Son
Not hat-trick for Son today - he's off in order to let Eric Lamela on for a cameo.
Millwall are back in it at the Evil Den and it's my old LUFC pal Steve Morison with the goal. Charming.
Killie tie it up at Aberdeen in the Scots Cup.
Not good news at all. Sorry, Fred.
Swansea are 4-0 up over West Ham - Cheikhou Kouyate gives away a penalty for a foul on Jordan Ayew, who promptly scores from 12 yards.
If Fred weren't napping all the time, Sunderland might not be anchored to the bottom.
Fatty pulls one back for the Rams vs the Cottagers, but the Cottagrs still lead 1-2.
LOL, mate. He may suffer successive relegations. It says that Hutchinson scored for the Evil Lions.
Carlisle go two up vs Grimsby.
Dembele off and Moussa Sissoko on for him.
Sissy on for Dembele.
Tom Huddlestone fires Derby County back into contention with his second goal of the season, a nice finish from the edge of the penalty area.
