Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

England's Friendly Schedule

At this time of the year, those of us who look forward to pulling up a comfy chair in front of the telly on a Saturday morning full of footie action go into steep withdrawal period. We have to grasp at those few opportunities to watch the good stuff (or the MLS!). Fortunately (phew!) it's a World Cup summer and there are warm-up matches on the way. England's schedule for upcoming friendlies includes a match against Nigeria on Saturday, June 2 and a match against Costa Rica on Thursday, June 7. Those are obvious stand-ins for England's first two opponents in the group stage, Tunisia and Panama. It'll also give us a chance to see how Gareth Southgate intends to set up the side. Can't wait!

Unfortunately, I will not be around for the match vs Nigeria because that's our workday before we go on Summer vacation, but will be there for the match vs the Ticos and for all the world Cup action. I guess I can DVR the match vs Nigeria. Thanks for sharing. Cheers!
