A Rainy Saturday Morning...Perfect for Footie!
A very good Saturday morning, chaps. It's been raining here in WNY for about a week straight now with more rain in the forecast to come. What else is there to do but cozy up in a favorite armchair with a cuppa and some quality football. It all starts at 8:30am EST with ManYoo's visit to Bournemouth. Will Mourinho's side continue to turnaround their season. At 11am, we've got the usual slate of kickoffs. Then there's the big one - Arsenal v. Liverpool from the Emirates at 1:30pm. If you still haven't had enough, theres' a tea time match at 3:45 between Wolves and Spurs.

Good morning, Bob. Up to join you for a marathon day of football on what is supposed to be a lovely day in South Texas.
Dean Smith's Villa defeated Bolton 2-0 , for what that's worth.
Morning, MUR - how are you, mate. Send us some of that sunshine, eh?
Doing well. How are you? I'll overnight that sunshine after this match
Just a reminder that tonight is Fall back
Who would have thought several years ago? A key match at Dean's Court.
Teenage welsh international , David Brooks has been in fine form since signing for the Cherries from the Evil Blades. Sounds like an intelligent young man?
Moment of silence for Armistice month?
Morning Boys
Not feeling confident about today's match. I think the strikers for Bournemouth will be too fast for you United
Teams out on the pitch observing Remembrance Day:
Bournemouth: Begovic, Francis, Steve Cook, Ake, Smith, Lewis Cook, Lerma, Fraser, Brooks, Wilson, Stanislas.
Subs: Boruc, Gosling, Surman, Mousset, Ibe, Daniels, Defoe.
Man Utd: De Gea, Young, Smalling, Lindelof, Shaw, Fred, Matic, Pogba, Mata, Martial, Sanchez.
Subs: Jones, Rashford, Lingard, Ander Herrera, Romero, Darmian, McTominay.
Referee: Paul Tierney (Lancashire)
And for Leicester City
Lukaku not even in the squad
Rashford out and Sanchez in
Morning, UWS - how are you, mate? I hope you've got better weather than we have out here. It's appalling.
We are off at Dean Court
Good morning, UWS. Glad you're starting the morning feeling positive .
Atrocious out here too
They're off from Dean's Court.
And we're away. Bournemouth in their home kit; United in their pink and white nonsense.
COME ON MAN UNITED!
Mum's the word on our weather.
Alexis has an early encounter with some Bournemouth fans.
Hope I am wrong!
Does Shadow mind going for walkies in the rain?
Alexis looking more like Alexis Sayle after falling into the first row. Everyone saw the funny side of it./
This match has quite a bit of Vitality to it.
You lot have been on a great run. Let's hope it continues. Go on the Red Devils!
United should have been one down there!!
BIG chance!
Ryan Fraser was in there but a touch took him too wide and his shot was saved by De Gea's feet.
Thank goodness that finally touch was awful!
PHEW ! Wee Ryan beat the offside trap off a great though ball, but De Gea stood tall, making his typical kick save
Slightly better from United but Mata well offside
Nice chipped pass from Fred, but in was a Mata of Pretty in pink being offside.
Just starting to see daylight offside, or have for about the past quarter of an hour.
Yashley is down with a knock of some sort as Bournemouth has a corner.
And now a corner at the other end after a quick break through Fred and Alexis.
United break off a Cherries corner then Simon Francis clears for a United corner.
Then it's a Mata of the corner basically being passed to Begovic
Looked outside and see a clear blue sky. The sun should be out in the next half hour.
How did Bournemouth not score there!
Wide open 8 yards out!
Oh - big chance for Stanislas. Tried to side foot it in when he should have put his laces through it.
Close range block by De Gea from Cally wilson
One nil
I was right to be positive
Sorry, chaps - the Cherries have scored through Callum Wilson.
United are all over the place at the back
BUGGER !!!CALLY WILSON SCORES OFF THE CORNER.
It could have been at least 3-0
Early doors, chaps.
The corner , after that close range block , was headed out, but it Shaw didn't Mata as the ball was played wide to Stanislaus and his opass was diverted in for a goal from close range by Cally Wilson, who was completely unmarked/.
Of course, the Cherries should be favorites... higher in the table, more points, more goals....a better team
Thanks, Bob. Hope we improve.
Pass from Wilson deflects off a United player and David Brooks heads wide.
I agree with UWS that but for De Gea we would be down by three or four already. You were spot on about us not being able to handle their strikers.
Why are they saying Bournemouth are underdogs? Give them credit... they are a good side
I agree. They're fifth in the table for a reason. Disregard the name and look at their current form.
Bournemouth are an okay side; United should be beating this lot. And then hiring Eddie Howe.
I am on David's side
It may not be a Wealth of Nations , but Adam Smith has an effort from a difficult angle go just wide after receiving a brilliant cross field pass.
Cheers, Dave. It doesn't get an easier as United go to Italy to play Juve in midweek.
YIKES! That midweek match in Turin is followed by a Manc Derby a week from tomorrow.
Stanislaus straight to De Gea in a move that started with Matic atrociously losing possession in midfield.
I remember David Meek
United playing as if they're trying to get Jose sacked. We should have a better idea eight days from now.
Did you see the story about the breakaway European Super League? There's been chatter about that for decades now but this seems fairly far along in negotiations.
Was that a pen?? I think it so!
I Shaw thought the Cherries may have had a penalty as David Brooks appeared to be nudged in the box. Nice one two between Wee Ryan and Stanilaus and a great cross.
Never a pen.
It has been a story off and on since the 80s. I think it would change football for the worse if it transpires. The Prem would basically be a worthless league.
Totally hate it...the big teams are just too greedy!
At this point, it would take place of the Champions League but you know it would then take place of the domestic league!
Based on current form, United would be excluded from this super league. It's all about greed and money
We all seem to agree on this proposal that it needs to be scrapped.
If it did take place of the Champions League, games midweek would be big un vs big un instead of United vs Young Boys but teams would be resting players for Prem games for the midweek games. Both Cups would be gone!
Was it 12 teams that were permanent members? Then invited guests?
PATHETIC
Wee Ryan down for the Cherries. My Howe that would be a huge loss for the Cherries.
UNITED ARE BORING
Half an hour in and United haven't had a significant chance. In these situations, I'd like to see Jose go to his bench early.
Absolutely true. Spot on , Dave.
Absolutely agree with you lot - it would destroy football.
Fred with a close range effort blocked by Ake as a pass was karate chopped into the box.
Then the Cherries win a corner after that United attack.
A glimpse of a chance for United... alas...no
Alexis fouls Adam Smith as he's thinking of a Wealth of Nations
Surprised Lingard didn't get the start
Junior Stanislaus making United players look like a bunch of senior citizens/.
YES!!!!!!
Marital levels it up!!
GOAL! Kung Fu Panda comes good again! United are back in it!
YESSSSSSSS!!!! UNITED TIE IT UP AGAINST THE RUN OF PLAY THANKS TO A GREAT KARATE CHOP.
Came from nothing but one incisive ball from Alexis and Martial merely had to pick his spot.
1-1!
It started with a short goal kick from De Gea. United lost the ball in midfield, but Lindy won it back, playing it wide right to Fred, who passed it through to Alexis and his pass was diverted in thanks to a timely and well placed karate chop.
Then it's a Mata of United with an off target shot after a long pass was laid off by Alexis.
Wonder why Martial has suddenly caught fire all of a sudden. Football psychology is a mystery to me.
OH!! De Gea turns around a shot from Wee Ryan into the side netting.
Fred clears for a Cherries corner.
Fred foul;s a Cherries player just outside the box off the corner.
I agree with Bob. Footie psychology is really a mystery with this current generation, but it could be a case of experience of maturity as far as the karate kid is concerned.
Horrible and disgraceful conduct from Fred falling over.
That's it for the half....United very lucky to be level
It's 1-1 at the half , which is fortunate for United, who have been completely outplayed.
Delicately poised at half-time at 1-1. I'm off to do the dishes.
We are off
United start poor
GREAT SAVE by De Gea
OH!!!! Great close range stop by De Gea off a cheeky back heel from David Brooks/.
David Brooks wins a Cherries corner off of Smalling
He tweeted..Turin is my home... GO HOME THEN
Looks like Jose is about to make a double substitution with instructions being given to Herrera and Rash
BUGGER... Shaw with a chance... not finished
Back with a second cuppa just in time to see Luke Shaw blow a big chance. Begovic with a decent stop.
That Shaw was a great close range block by Begovic for a United corner.
United to make a double change now - Rash and Herrera. But who to take off?
It's Fred and Mata.
Mata and Fred off
Rash for Mata and Herrera for Fred. Slightly more attack minded for United.
Question
Why is Rafa getting so much support from the Toon fans?
They haven't won all season AND some games they don't even try to score
Why is he getting a free pass? His name?
Herrera gets clobbered right from the off.
That's an excellent question. Probably because he got them back up after relegation. He might have to do that again!
Begovic tips over a header from Alexis off a headed pass from Smalling
I want Lindy to get a few minutes out there
Great question. Probably because Mike Cashley is being made the scapegoat for the Toon's problems.
Lindy is capable of causing Cherries Jubilee some problems.
I have NEVER rated Pogba
Tom and Matt said how good he was with Juve. I tried to believe them... HE IS PANTS
Stanilaus fouls Yash from Behind about 25 yards from goal and is deservedly booked.
Free kick chance for United... GREAT FREE KICK... HOW DID THE REBOUND NOT GO IN!!!!!
DAMN IT!
Rashford with a shot saved... A SITTER MOVED BY POGBA
OH!!! Free kick Yash off the Sunday Roast then a close range rebound from Rash blocked then a shot cleared off the line./
How did PogPANTS miss it
Cally Wilson booked for a foul when all that was happening.
He had a great World Cup with France , but for some reason doesn't produce that form for United.
Herrera with a shot JUST wide
Long range effort from Herrera not too far wide.
Was he that great? All hype in my book
Another useless attempt by Pants
Oh - Pogba was in there. Half chance.
Miss control from Pogba as he was in a great position.
Our old boy Lewis Cook off now and Dan Gosling on for him.
Ryan Gosling on for former LUFC Academy player , Lewis Cook, which is hopefully a disaster of a recipe for the Cherries Jubilee being prepared.
I agree with UWS. Pogba was good in couple of matches but I wasn't that impressed by France throughout the tournament.
Pogpants chance was from two yards and went off his shins
An illegal karate chop wins United a free kick as Junior Stanislaus was guilty.
I guess Eddie Howe felt that there were two many Cooks on the pitch.
STAY on side Sanchez!!
Jordon Ibe on for Wee Ryan.
United have Bournemouth on the ropes here - both teams are unrecognisable from the versions of themselves that played the opening 45 minutes.
Herrera heads out for a Cherries corner.
Lindy on for Alexis on the final roll of the dice from Jose.
Lindy on for Sanchez
On comes Lindy. Why is he riding the bench these days? I don't get it. He was great in the summer for England.
Corner....BEAT THE FIRST MAN ASHLEY!!
Agreed, Bob. Charles Dickens was quite the football genius which you will discover when you read " A Tale of Two Halves."
He was injured
This match finely balanced with ten minutes plus remaining.
De Gea needs to save... wide open shot
Great block by Dea Gea from David Brooks off a pass from Ibe.
So stupid by Young
Not sure why Adam Smith is down. Slight trip from Yash, who is deservedly booked, but the playacting needs to be stamped out of football.
Adam Smith booked for his part also. Seems a fair cop.
Will there be a winner
GEEZ.. POGPANTS
Still plenty of time for United to score.
Felt for Steve on Thursday
I watched the whole match for him
So bad from United... failed to get the ball in the box... DRIVES ME NUTS
That's a cruel way to go out of the playoffs. Complete sympathy for Steve and Johnno.
This one seems destined to be a draw, which is what I expected, but a win would be better.
4 added minutes to come
Lindy has a shot... saved
Oh - Lindy could have won it there!
Close range block from Begovic as subs Herrera and Lindy combined. Should have been a United winner.
Ibe wins a Cherries corner.
A quartet of stoppage time minutes
Into four minutes of stoppage time now. Come on, United!
Bloody stoppage time subbing.... another thing ruining the game I love
Wondering if the 11 AM matches would be a good time to do grocery shopping ? Evil Neil vs the Foxes doesn't sound too appealing
GOAL! Rashford has won it!!!!!!
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RASHFORD!
WAY HAY!!! RASH LOOKS TO HAVE WON IT FOR UNITED. SCRAPPY, BUT I'LL TAKE IT
Jose doesn't seem very pleased but his United have eked out another win.
He almost blew it!!
Jose did punch the air
Pos stood up a lovely ball there that evaded the whole Bournemouth defense. Rash chested it down and then waited for his moment.
1-2!
That Shaw was a nice long ball to Rash, who passed wide to Pogba, who put in a great cross for Rash to chest down and smash home from close range
UNITED ARE OUT OF THE NEGATIVE GD!!
Rash booked for excessive celebrations
BLOW UP REF!!
Cherries previous home loss was to United in April
Happy Jose?
THAT'S IT.... UNITED GET A MUCH NEEDED WIN
Phew!
Well, then. United were not impressive today but they still won ugly.
It's over and despite United not playing well, glad they came from behind to win 1-2.
AND.. we got into SEVENTH overtaking Watford!!
ON FIRE!
Rashford's birthday week ends in with a winning goal...not bad for 21 year old
So, the next match of four is from Cardiff.
How will the Leicester players react?
Leicester players look very solemn in the tunnel
Here they come
Swearing in the tunnel... Becky has to apologize...does she really need to do that?
Poor by NBC... off for commercial... they have fallen in their coverage
Back from walkies on a lovely South Texas morning. Agreed that NBC's coverage has declined.
Wreath of flowers' a moment's silence in memory of the victims of the helicopter crash
Entire party of Leicester City on the pitch... Players and staff in tears
I'm back from the shower now. I have to admit, despite the occasion, that this match and the other matches don't really fire the imagination. So, I'll be doing a bit of grading while this one is on. Looking forward to the later one.
Moment of silence... Well done everyone
Impeccably observed.
Rangers won 0-2 at struggling St. Helen Mirren
Off we go
They're off from the Welsh capital
I'm considering going grocery shopping if this match turns out to be a dud.
Some of the Leicester players were in tears during the moment of silence. I can't imagine how they'll be able to play a match today.
Great minds think alike, mate.
The Foxes win a corner.
