Another Big Night of European and Domestic Footer
It's another big night of Champions League and Championship footer tonight and I'm just out of a faculty meeting and settling to follow it all. We've got Spurs and Dortmund and Ajax and Real in the CL, but more importantly Leeds hosting Swansea in the Championship. With only 15 matches left in the Championship season, every match is a cup tie for us. We'll need maximum points tonight. Come on, you Whites! MOT!

Almost kickoff time now. Here is the Leeds starting XI that are taking to the hallowed turf right now:
Casilla, Alioski, Cooper, Jansson, Ayling, Phillips, Klich, Roofe, Harrison, Hernandez, Bamford
And we're underway at Elland Road.
The ball sits up nicely for Kemar Roofe to strike from 25 yards, but his effort goes wide.
We'll also need some help from Ipswich, who are hosting Derby today, PNE who are hosting Norwich and for Sheff Utd and Boro to draw. Pretty please!
Ahead of kick-off a minute's applause was held for the late, great, Gordon Banks.
Wahay! Norwich are already behind at Deepdale to PNE. So, the point total is down to one point between us and them.
I'm hoping that Pablo can do the biz today against his old club.
Spurs about to kick off at Wemberley against Dortmund. Tough ask for them tonight.
Corner chance for us now.
YESSSS!!!!!!
The corner just evades Patrick Bamford, the ball then comes out to Alioski who fires towards goal, it takes a ricochet into the path of Pontus Jansson and he slots home into the left corner!
We're back on top then with that Pontus goal. A point better than Norwich on 61. Can we all stop playing now?
The LUFC website has a photo of some unfortunate line dancing after that Pontus strike. Whatever - it's 1-0 Whites!
PNE are 2-0 up over Norwich!!!
Mateusz Klich puts in a good cross and Kemar Roofe volley's at goal, but he can't find the target.
Unfortunately, Derby have taken the lead at Ipswich. They're in sad shape.
Chance for Swansea, Barrie McKay fires across the face of goal following a free-kick and Mike van der Hoorn is just inches away from tapping it in. Phew!
Half an hour in and things are going swimmingly.
Jack Harrison fires a good effort on goal, but the flag is raised for offside.
YESSSSS!!!!!
Leeds double the lead! Alioski crosses from the left and Harrison finds the net with a fine glancing header! 2-0
Klich floats a ball into the box, but Bamford can't get the better of Erwin Mulder in the Swansea goal. We're looking for more goals.
First half starting to wind down. I'd love to see the ref's whistle right about now.
Into stoppage time now and Leeds have a corner chance.
Half-time: That was a very satisfied and much needed confidence-boosting first half. I just hope we can keep it going. Results mostly going our way right now.
We are back underway at Elland Road!
Spurs and Dortmund have reached half time at 0-0 at Wembley.
Daniel James wins Swansea a free-kick right on the edge of the Leeds box.
ormer Leeds loan man Matt Grimes sees his free-kick deflect wide for a corner.
I wouldn't mind seeing Tyler Roberts coming on around the hour mark to hold up the ball.
We're back up to +18 on GD now. Much, much better. Norwich and Sheff Utd are at +19 and WBA at +22 though. We need to score some more today while we're at it.
Harrison wins us a corner in the 52nd minute. Come on!
Alioski puts a second ball into the box and Liam Cooper is denied by Mulder with a header.
Scores in other matches still going well. Blades and Boro still at 0-0 and Norwich still losing 2-0. Would love to see an Ipswich goal but I know that's not happening so beggars can't be choosers.
Jay Fulton is replaced by Joel Asoro for the Swans.
Nearly the hour mark now - we could probably use some freshening up. I'd have Roberts on for Bamford right about now.
Roofe blazes over from 25 yards.
Corner chance for us now - this one needs to go in!
A change for Swansea before the corner is taken, Oliver McBurnie replaces McKay.
Btw, no goals at all in the Champions League tonight in the first half. (Boring!).
Oh my stars - Ipswich have scored!!!!
Hernandez fires a shot on the turn, but he can't find the target.
Bamford tees up Roofe to strike from 20 yards, he's denied by a fine save from Mulder.
Final change for Swansea, James is replaced by Luciano Naringh.
Bugger! Richard Stearman has given the Blades the lead at the hour mark. The only match that isn't going our way tonight. We could really use a Boro equalizer.
Heung-Min Son is on fire these days and he's put Spurs 1-0 up over Dortmund. Could be a priceless goal.
Bamford receives a standing ovation as he's replaced by Tyler Roberts. He was quiet tonight.
About 15 minutes left to play. Looking good right now.
We're now level again with Norwich on GD and a point ahead of them.
Roofe is played through, but he pulls his effort just wide. Shame - Kemar could really use a goal right now. He's been in a bit of a drought.
I'd love a third goal right about now.
Casilla makes a fine save to deny Connor Roberts after he worked room for a shot in the Leeds area.
Swansea win a free-kick, central 30 yards from goal; we're under a bit of pressure now. Come on!
Phew! Kiko denies Grimes from the free kick.
Inside the last ten minutes now.
Oh! Hernandez cuts inside before striking, but his effort is just too high.
Bugger! Swansea have got a penalty. Come on, Kiko! It's your time, seƱor!
Bugger! McBurnie has slotted home. 2-1 with a few minutes to go. Not good.
Tonight's attendance is 34,044. Wow!
Into stoppage time, then. Come on, boys. Hang in there.
Young Leif Davis has replaced Pablo to bolt the door.
Four minutes to come.
Grimes wins Swansea a free-kick midway into the Leeds half.
This is a massive three minutes or so. We need these three points. Could be the difference at the end of the season.
Wahay! We've held on for a massive 2-1 win that puts us back on top. 61 points from 32 matches. One point above Norwich in second. Three points above Sheffield in third. 10 points ahead of Derby in 7th! 14 matches to play.
