A Quality Saturday
A very good Saturday morning to you chaps. It was a pleasure having an extra hour to lie in this morning. But I'm up and at 'em now looking forward to what looks like a quality day of Premier League footie. It all starts with Bournemouth v. United at 8:30 am EST. Then we've got the usual slate of 3pm GMT matches at 11am EST. That includes City v. Soton on NBC Sports and Wolves v. Arsenal on CNBC. I'll have my eye on my beloved Leeds United v. QPR at Elland Road, but, sadly, no coverage on the Plus today. Finally, the late one kicks off at 1:30pm and features Watford and Chelsea.
Come on and join me, eh?

A lot of fascinating storylines this morning, especially around Arsenal, where Granit Xhaka has been dropped after having stormed off the pitch last weekend, Mesut Ozil has been brought back into the fold and apparently a fan favorite has been left out. Emery really under a microscope today.
The teams now out on the pitch at Bournemouth:
Bournemouth: Ramsdale, Smith, Steve Cook, Ake, Rico, Fraser, Lerma, Billing, Harry Wilson, Callum Wilson, King.
Subs: Boruc, Francis, Solanke, Danjuma, Lewis Cook, Kelly, Mepham.
Manchester United: de Gea, Wan Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Young, McTominay, Fred, James, Andreas Pereira, Rashford, Martial.
Subs: Mata, Lingard, Rojo, Romero, Greenwood, Garner, Williams.
Referee: Chris Kavanagh (Lancashire).
Morning Boys
Weather seems rotten all over the country
Had weather reports from the family today
Wet and windy in Southend(Debs is there for some reason)
Wet and windy in Portsmouth
Wet and windy in Cambridge
Wet and windy in Worlington
I sense a trend
How was your weather the last couple of days Bob
We lost power for about 14 hours yesterday
Cherries vs the Reptiles
Here they come out.... NBC for a commercial then!
Good morning, Bob and Dave. Up to join you for the match at Dean Court
England got TWONKED in the World Cup Final this morning
Lost 32-12
NBC off for commercials
we had beautiful weather yesterday, but unusually cool and breezy on Halloween
Morning, chaps! Our weather was crazy the last couple of days, with near tornado like conditions. Fortunately, we didn't suffer any damage or power loss.
Kate is driving back from Virginia today and I'm hoping that she has an easy time of it.
Morning David
Have United turned a corner? Not sure but I hope so
Three away wins on the trot...hope it continues today
I saw that - South Africa too strong for them, eh?
I saw that score. My condolences to Three Lions fans. Also saw that The All Blacks thrashed Wales in the Third Place match. All Blacks last lost to Wales in 1953
COME ON MAN U
COME ON MAN U
COME ON MAN U
I think United may have. It appears that they're going to grind out results unless they're playing teams near the bottom
COME ON MAN UNITED!
COME ON MAN UNITED!
COME ON MAN UNITED!
Remembrance Day ceremony
I have my opinions on the Xaka Khan incident and how it should be handles, but would be interested in Steve's take on that before commenting
Horrible weather for the ceremony, as Dave stated.
Bugle Boy messed a few notes there....especially the first note
The early Championship match is Wigan vs the Swans
We are off!!
They're off from Dean Martin's Court.
And we're away on another rainy afternoon in Blighty. Come on, you Red Devils!
I hope United's performance doesn't match their kit. Wouldn't want it to be reptillian
COME ON UNITED!!
STOP PASSING AROUND BACK THERE!!!
Would love to see a Wigan win in that early one.
Morning Bob
If you want nice weather then come to Harlingen. It was ideal yesterday and more of the same today
You can't be complaining already, UWS - we've barely kicked off!
Right there, Fred had a chance to go forward but passed it sideways 5 feet to My Scottish Son
Second weekend in a row you're rooting for Wigan. Are you now a supporter?
With that passing at the back....Yes
James runs down the wing.... someone whiffed their shot!!
DAMN
Oh - Dan James found Perreira in the box but the Portugueezer couldn't latch onto it.
Did you all see the shock result yesterday. Dijon defeated PSG 2-1. I guess PSG didn't cut the mustard?
I think Perreira latched at it
OH DEAR...PUNMEISTER AT IT EARLY
I think Dave would agree with me that United's kit is ideal for Remembrance Day
Martial in the box...not called offside but it was
Decent enough from United
Just want some shots on goal.... Martial listens...but it dribbles to the keeper
Oh - now Perreira has a chance from inside the area and blasts over. Has he been hanging out with Patrick Bamford?
Sorry, UWS. When I saw that result yesterday it was too good to pass up and had plenty of time to prepare
James is dangerous down the right
Pereira with a rush of blood and whacks into the stands
James now crosses to Fred....HE'S BRAZILIAN!
SO BAD
When the Championship is concerned, the enemy of my enemy is my friend, MUR.
Blimey - this one might get called off. The rain is just teeming down.
Wonder if Perreira is trying to emulate the players in the rugby World Cup Final
Cheers, Bob. Than ks for your support.
I'checked FOTMOB and didn't notice any matches being called, but that may change.
Based on the conditions , players will need to overcook their passes to have them reach their intended target. It would be wise to test the keepers as it will be easier than normal to spill shots on target
Bob will not be pleased that the Swans have taken the lead at the DW. Nathan Dyer with the goal
First corner of the match as Cally Wilson has a shot deflected for a corner
Bournemouth want a pen... of course it will be checked
Young stinks
Nothing doing...on we go
De Gea blocks a pass from Josh King off a one two with Wee Ry an then VAR checking for a possible Cherries penalty for hand ball
Big shout for a penalty there for the home side. Mike Dean's not impressed. VAR check?
Play on as nothing was called.
Not at all happy with that. I'm hoping that the Swans prove to be merely ugly ducklings this morning.
Fred with a chance....why him!.... deflected... Corner
Fred has a shot go high and wide. it must have taken a nick as United win their first corner of the match
Horrible corner from Perreira. I'd have him off right now.
The corner from Perriera was knuckle ball and easily headed by Billing. That corner definitely didn't deserve Top Billing
Are United going to rue these early chances missed?
James wins a free kick out wide right.
Decent cross please from these free kick
Better second corner from Perriera . Headed away , but United maintain possession until the Cherries win it back with a slide tackle. Then Wee Ryan concedes a free kick off a poor Cherries clearance
Another horrible cross from Perreira.
HORRIBLE free kick!!
James has a shot...just wide!
So bad of a free kick tho... PROFESSIONAL!!
Really Poor low line drive free kick from perrira , but makes it's way to Dan James , who shoots just wide from the D
Bob will be pleased that Wigan have ties it up at the DW
Welsh international, Kieffer Moore , with a spot kick against the Welsh club. Moore of the same please
Rashford with a decent run but then blasts his pass into a defender.
Rash runs .... doesn't know what to do with it
Wahay! Well done, Wigan. My new favorite side in the Championship.
United give the ball away because a careless short pass!
THIS HAS TO STOP!
Interesting to see the Dean of officials at Dean's Court.
Wee Ryan wins a corner off a throw that received Top Billing
Atrocious short corner from the Cherries
King feeds Fraser who at least gets a shot on target. De Gea holds well.
Just to let everyone know that the Tractor Boys will not be in action today because they were scheduled to play Bury. Tractor Boys may finish the day in third place, but with two games in hand
The Force was not with Wee Ryan as he failed to win a corner off of Obi Wan
If you were wondering where the Beaker has been, you can see him in action at 11 on CNBC
Not happy that United haven't scored...I'm used to it tho
This match has not exactly been the best advert for the Prem
I will definitely have the Arsenal match on and not the City
He had a great assist at Anfield
They have scored more the last two matches. A sign of things to come?
Martial drives into the area and goes over. Bournemouth players are incensed. There will be a delay for VAR here.
Martial goes down... Never a pen... I missed what happened next?
That should be a pen....pushed right in the back
A Cherries slide tackle karate chopped for a corner and the United player thought it was a cheap shot and definitely an illegal karate chop. Could have been a penalty
There is definitely a nudge from Lerma but then Kung Fu Panda definitely makes the most of it.
No pen apparently
Lerma and Fred get yellows for the aftermath of the incident.
Absolutely makes a meal of it
Corner is far too long.
Thomas Jefferson Lerma and Fred booked. The Third President got his fifth booking of the season and will be suspended next weekend, making him available once the international break resumes
Chance gone...because United have a corner!
Deep...out of a throw in
I agree with Dave. I saw the match from Anfield on Thursday. Really entertaining and definitely a great assist from the Beaker. He had a decent match against the teenagers
Get Perreira off!
Stupid foul by Perreira ... be smarter!!
Perreira fouls Thomas Jefferson Lerma
United clear and counter , but the pass was too long. Came after a spell of pressure from the Cherries
The wind’s swirling about, and so is the ball. It doesn’t make for classic viewing.
I was thinking the same. The match is identical to the weather conditions: GLOOMY
One goal might settle it.
I think the substitutions may be the key to the match
Sorry, chaps - Josh King slots home for Bournemouth.
DAMN! JOSH KING GIVES THE CHERRIES THE LEAD AS WE APPROACH STOPPAGE TIME.
Poor defending from Obi Wan , who was more like C3PO. Great skill by Josh king to chest it then volley in, but ball watching by Obi Wan and Co.
Cherries one up at the half
It's 1-1 at the half at the DW
The second half is underway from Dean Martin's Court
Had a bit a breakfast and then the loo for the goal
BUGGER
Second half underway
YIKES! United's longest run without an away clean sheet in the Prem since 2003. A horrible stat
Welcome back, Dave. Another missed goal while in the bog?
Come on, you Red Devils!
United's bench does really shine with firepower to bring on, does it
Cheers, Bob. United can use all the support they can get
Looks like Lindy and Greenwood are the main attacking threats on the bench. Not sure about James Garner. I'll have to check the Rockford Files for that one.
Has Maguire and Obi Wan improved United's defense?
They still concede ALL THE TIME
Bournemouth break and a cross finds Fraser on the volley. Straight into De Gea's arms.
Nice one with the Rockford Files!
Ball almost reaches Rashford!
Definitely not in away matches as evidenced by my comment posted at 9:33. That's exhibit A
Martial had the ball in the box... take on the man!!
He stops and goes backwards....YOU WERE IN THE BOX!!!
Cheers, Dave. That was a great show.
Bournemouth should have done better there!
Phew
Loved it....and the theme song
United were lucky that the Wilsons miscued as Cally Wilson was wide open off a really poor pass from Harry Wilson
I was a big fan of James Garner
Great Escape, Rockford Files, the newer Maverick AND on my favorite movies of all time
What is it?
Doesn't look as rainy as it did in the first half.
I don't remember all his movies, but he starred in quite a few
Bob should know
Perreira has been ATROCIOUS!!
Plenty of time for United but they have to CREATE some chances
That wasn't a nice challenge at all
I've been banging on about Perreira all day. I'm shocked that he's still out there. That's one of the many reasons that I love Bielsa. He's not shy about yanking a player who isn't playing well.
A recipe for disaster as it's a really Rash tackle from Steve Cook.
Bob, what movie?
I agree Bob and Dave. OGS needs to yank Perreira .He could bring on Mata , which may not Mata at this point
Decent hit by the aforementioned
ANOTHER ATROCIOUS CORNER
What is going on?????
A knuckle ball of a corner from Perreira is easily cleared. YANK HIM!
I don't get how every delivery is so poor
He finally did something right as a long range effort forced a decent save from Aaron Ramsdale
At least change the corner taker. At this level every player should be capable of taking a corner
Change of tactics.....UNITED ARE GOING TO WIN THIS... I AM SO CONFIDENT!
wonder if that will work
The Great Escape is my favorite Garner movie role. He was the guy who gathered up all the scraps. I also enjoyed him in Murphy's Romance and (yes!) The Notebook. Hey, I'm not made of stone.
Loved the Rockford Files as a kid, too. And his daughter Jennifer is a nice bit of crumpet.
Martial didn't look like he was sprinting there
Great karate chopped slide tackle by Nathan Ake off a nice long ball.
Bob, what is one of my favorite movies of all time with JG?
I loved The Great escape. Nice observation about the daughter
Wee Ryan booked for anything but a we challenge on Daniel James
United's passing has not been good enough
De Gea gets away with two pieces of shaky keeping. Now United on the attack
United don't look very creative...only way they can score is on a break
The cards are flying around now. Lindelof is the latest recipient.
Lindelof now booked for a clumsy foul on Harry Wilson, who made a meal of that. He Learned that behavior at the Liverpool Academy
Lingard coming on
For the last time....what movie am I talking about Bob?
I dunno, UWS. Is it Maverick? He was in loads of Westerns.
Stupid foul again by Young...he sucks too
Yash fouls Adam Smith just outside the United box. Not exactly a Wealth of Nations as Yash is booked
Support Your Local Sheriff....one of my all time favorites!
I think this is a goal coming
Hopeless free kick....well done
Free kick from Harry Wilson curled a few feet wide
Can Leicester do a Leicester?
Is this Foxes team better than the Champions of yore?
Just as the doc ordered, Lindy on for Perreira. Not exactly the shock of the century
Yeah - I remember that one, too. Didn't know that it was one of your favorites. Was that one of the videotapes you had as a kid. I remember The Godfather, Butch Cassidy and Day of the Jackal.
United break....HOPELESS cross by Young!!
So frustrating!
It's about time. I would have had him off midway through the first half when he delivered that horrible free kick.
No one attacks the ball in the box
They might be . They may end the season with more points than when they were champions and yet that may only be good enough for Third Place.
Exactly!!
Another poor corner but it does get into a dangerous part of the box but alas
The corner from Daniel James was not much better and caught a United player by surprise as it bounced in the box
Only 20 minutes to get something
United went from 16th to 7th.... down they go again!
United showing no urgency
I agree with you - I don't know that Wan Bissaka has given you much this season. Given that you're playing Dan James down that side, you don't really even need a fullback flying down that side and delivering crosses the way a Neviller did.
United losing to Bournemouth
Lost to Palace
Lost to Newcastle
Geez
A pedestrian United performance with no creativity
Can't seem to get up for the smaller clubs although Palace has made a good start to the season
Agreed, Bob. I expected more from Obi Wan. Playing more like Chewbakka.
Oh - De Gea did well to keep out Harry Wilson there.
Decent save by De Gea
Dee Gea does well to turn around a shot from Harry Wilson
Greenwood about to come on
Rash catches a stray elbow in the eye from Adam Smith. That seems like voodoo economics.
Let's hope he adds a spark to a side playing like a bunch of Masons today
A long United pass is headed out for a corner
Decent corner from YAsh palmed away by Ramsdale
I reckon that there are only six players in the United starting side today who should ever wear a United shirt. Can you guess the six?
Next corner from YAsh headed away then McToamin called for a foul for an attempted bout of botulism aimed at Cherries players
DeGea, Maguire, Rash, Mart, Obi, James
Why take off Obi Wan and James
Bring on the kids - Greenwood and Williams to come on. Not sure either are shaving yet.
The final rolls of the dice from OGS and the teens brought on. Mason Green wood on for Dan James and like for like as Brandon Williams is on for the disapppointing Obi Wan
I wouldn't keep Wan Bissaka.
So pathetic by United...they just don't seem to know what to do
United survive a break.
Oh - Fred found Greenwood who came really close with his first touch!
OH! Mason Greenwood hits the post with his first touch of the ball.
