The We Hate Manchester United Derby
So, this one is between the two teams that went head to head last season for the Title. This was supposed to be #1 vs #2 but it is #1 vs #4! Will City get closer? Will Liverpool extend their lead?
Hopefully it is good one...unlike the nil niller last season at Anfield.
As I stated, both of these do have another thing in common....they both hate Manchester United. United host Brighton today in the first match of the day. Can United build on their midweek performance? I would normally be very confident of a home win.... not this season!

At the same time as United kick off...there is a Midlands derby as Wolves host Villa
Morning, UWS - thanks for getting us going this morning. Great intro!
The line ups from OT
UNITED
De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Williams, McTominay, Fred, Pereira, James, Rashford, Martial.
Substitutes: Romero, Jones, Mata, Lingard, Rojo, Greenwood, Garner
Brighton
Ryan, Montoya, Duffy, Dunk, Burn, Trossard, Propper, Stephens, Alzate, Maupay, Connolly.
Substitutes: Button, Gross, Balogun, Murray, Mooy, March, Schelotto
United are 14th in the table with the least amount of points to a start of the season since Big Ron was sacked at this point of the season and certain Alex Fergie came in.
Morning Bob
thanks
Good morning , Bob and Dave. Here to join you for what is a busy day if you are watching the MLS Cup Final this afternoon
United start youngster Brandon Wilson...he's looked good in the Cup matches....better than Young for a start!
Thanks for getting us started with the great post, UWS
Morning David
Not sure I will be around for the MLS...morning is taken up by the footer...afternoon off to the park and store
ta
In the Championship, Bristol City is one up at Cardiff late in the second half in the Severn River Derby
It's supposed to b a lovely afternoon today, so I will probably be integrating the match with outdoor activities
Let's hope the worst player of the season doesn't show up today
Keep away VAR
Morning, MUR - how are you, mate?
I could use a day off from VAR, as well.
You getting any snow this upcoming week Bob?
We are supposed to get some Mon/Tues
There are FA Cup matches going on and a few giant killings in the making. Maldon and Tiptree in the 8th tier , are one up at the Orient Express at the half. Dover one up vs struggling Southend heading in to second half stoppage time
Doing well, thank you for asking. How is everyone else?
As I said earlier, United kick off in 14th spot!!
A win would catapult them all the way up to 7th
No snow for us, but Tuesday is supposed to be weather compatible to that of Blighty in December and January, which is extremely unusual here in early November
Toon in 11th and Toffees in 13th when they were being tipped for relegation. Things change quickly this time of the season This shows how tight the table is.
Kingstonian , of the 7th tier , three up at Macclesfield . That's a huge upset.
Bristol City have beaten Cardiff in the Welsh capital 1-0
City up to 6th
I'm back with the official brekkies of the LOB.
Kate's unhappy with the new policy of going to ads during the handshakes as it takes away from her favorite part - the kid mascots.
Just tuned in the Wolves Villa match on Gold
I agree with UWS about Brandon Williams. I have been impressed with him in the Cup matches
Kate is a smart cookie.... I hate it too
I did as well. They met in the League Cup about ten days ago
I agree with Kate too.
Remembrance Sunday silence....impeccable at Old Trafford
Trumpet being played at Molineux
Bristol City won 0-1 at Cardiff and are now in 6th place. That's not idle gossip.
Melanie is taking Trumpet lessons at Texas State
Especially because I already posted that score
First giant killing of the day as Dover have defeated Southend 1-0 in what has been a miserable season for the Shrimpers
Come on, you Red Devils!
United attacking the Stretford End in the first half... that is different
COME ON MAN U
COME ON MAN U
COMEON MAN U
We are off
Gateshead ties it up vs Oldham
United almost in there... that pass had to be better
COME ON MAN UNITED!
Wonder if the Sun was a reason for the side choice
They're off from Molineaux
Wonder if the Sun was a reason for the side choice
Brandon needs to get a better haircut!!
So does My Scottish Son
I think the Seagulls held us to a draw at OT last season if my memory serves me well. We need to do better today
Why isn't Jesse Lingard getting into this United side?
Come on United... go forward with pace!!
We are just passing it around
Finally the ball is kicked up front.... almost a chance!
Rashford has to take those chances!
Brandon is sporting that 80s look. I'll take a good performance over a bad haircut
Williams does a good job overlapping but of course it was a modern day cross
Matt Doherty with a shot deflected for a Wolves corner. Wolves doing all the attacking
Lindy hasn't scored for months and months!
Lost his England spot too
Too interested in social media?
Early chance for United to swing a free kick in to the big boys.
I would expect better from experienced players. Williams still a teen learning the profession. At the same time, Prem players should be mastering basic skills
Stephens in the book for a foul on Pereira...he takes it.... ATROCIOUS!!
He did the same last week.... take him off the duty!!
Villa keeper down hurt...not touched
Great info, UWS. I didn't know about the social media, but he looked inconsistent when I watched him and his commitment looked to have dropped a level or two
He posted some ridiculous video from a hotel in the US
He needs to grow up!!
He's not young anymore!
Really rubbish free kick in. Let me be the first to say this - "Get Perreira Off!"
My Scottish Son with a poor pass!
Vill have to make the change with their keeper
Tom Heaton not starting today. Jed Steer, who was the starting keeper in the Championship last season off injured and replaced by a Norwegian keeper, who is the third choice keeper.
I concur. Perreira can help Lindy keep the bench warm
That was a nice cross by James.... only Rash in the box...he doesn't attack the ball!
Corner... doesn't matter.. Pereira will take it!
Cleared
If I had to weigh the choice between "Bad Behavior or Instagram" vs. "Can't beat the first man with a cross," I'd take the former.
Why can't United hit Maguire like England did in Russia
Pereira with an opportunity...fails to get shot off!
I agree with you about the two choices.... but does he get a quality cross over
Maldon and Tiptree of the 8th tier go two up at the Orient Express. That would be a huge giant killing
To be honest , I thin it's the double whammy for Lindy. Guilty of both bad behavior and a drop in form
Thankfully, Perreira doesn't play for England
United's home matches so far this season
Chelsea 4-0
Palace 1-2
Leicester 1-0
Arsenal 1-1
Liverpool 1-1
Not brilliant
We have hosted 3 of the top four and beaten two of them tho
My Scottish Son runs with the ball and forgets to take the ball with him at the crucial time
The Orient Express pulls it back to 1-2 vs Maldon and Tiptree
Obi Wan with a poor cross... there was only one in the box as well
You haven't got anyone on the pitch who is able to hit a decent dead ball.
Agreed about Obi Wan. That could have been an early United lead
Off to get gas
I'll be back in a tick
Direct play by United...that's more like it
Rash cuts in and forces a decent save from Matty Ryan. United need to do this more often
United would have won by Seven or weight goals Thursday, but Rash missed four good chances
YESSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!UNITED TAKE THE LEAD WITH A DEFLECTED EFFORT
GOAL! Deflected effort from Perreira.
UWS merely had to threaten to leave the room and the goal comes.
1-0 United!
Pretty jammy goal, really. I'd still have Perreira off pronto.
United fans now singing "Country Roads," the old John Denver nugget. Wonder if any of them have ever visited West VA?
Nasty tackle by Lewis Dunk on Dan James. A booking and lucky not to be sent off
GOAL! 2-0 United! Scott McTom bundles the ball over the line for a second.
WAY HAY!!!THE SEAGULLS SUFFERING A BOUT OF MC TOMAIN POISONING AS THEY GO TWO UP OFF THE FREE KICK
Free kick headed on by Maguire and McTomain smashed home from a couple of yards out
VAR check now for the handball from Maguire.
VAR now checking the goal.Is Maguire going to be called for hand ball?
Boos ringing out for the worst player of the season now. UWS would concur.
Goal counts! 2-0 United!
WAY HAY! The goal stands United two up
This is a costly errand for UWS. I don't remember him missing this many goals for a trip to the bog
OMG... I was gone five minutes and United score two!!!
I should leave again!!
I'm rewinding
Back to the first goal and about bloody time Fred and Perreira did something right. A pass from the back from Maguire found Fred and his long pass found Perrieria who played a one two with Rash then scored with a deflected effort off of Dale Stephens
Welcome back, UWS. We would never want you to leave
Dave, you will see a couple of collector's items on the first goal
In the cup, Oldham takes a 1-2 lead at Gateshead
Kingstonian's world famous Barber Shop Quartet singing about the second round draw as this side from the 7th tier goes four p at L2 Macclesfield. What's going on with Macclesfield?
Marvelous Makamba not so marvelous as he's booked for a nasty foul for Villa
I think I should!
oooh, Brighton should have scored there!
Altrincham takes the lead at Dick York
United up to 7th.....21st Title here we come!!
United let off the hook as Lewis Dunk misses a sitter off a free kick
Bristol Rovers took the lead vs Bromley, who tied it up five minutes later
Welcome back, UWS - Nocito Curse in full effect.
David, have watched any of the 2000 Prem goals yet?
I didn't get to watch any this week but Tom and I are thru the 94-95 season...it took 45 minutes
The whole thing is over 8 hours long!
Brilliant stuff...already scored quite a few against Leeds!
King Eric with a couple too!
You also missed an appearance from your least favorite player - VAR.
Did you notice the collector's item . For once Fred and Perreira did something right on their contributions for the for the first goal. Bloody Brazilians. United don't have good luck with them
Not yet . I will tomorrow. Is it on Youtube?
I love the comment from Keane on Sky... about United not buying a certain player.... then he said... well, they did buy Fred
Yes
De Gea down for United . This is not good. Can we call back Dean Henderson from his loan with the Evil Blades?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLo13yr2sNQ
Almost NINE hours
Perfect. I will watch it tomorrow.
Sounds like Roy Keane agrees with us and my recent comment
Rash runs in the box...doesn't beat the man...turns and goes backwards!
Where else do you want to get the ball?
CROSS IT
Well, not JUST tomorrow!
NINE hours!!
Looks like Wolves should have had a penalty. Looks like Doherty was tripped by Matt Targett
Still not 100% confident about today's result
I will have to watch it in intervals. The weather is supposed to be nasty here Tuesday and Wednesday, so I will probably watch the vast majority those days
A third goal would really help. Frank Stapleton and Norman Whiteside need to be given better service
Brighton haven't had a sniff yet. De Gea could have gone off for some tapas and sangria during the first half.
I want a third
AND A TENTH!
We want our record back
We want our record back
We want our record back
We want our record back
Fleetwood Mac goes two up at Barnet
I could murder a few tapas and sangrias at this point
Two nil but really both goals are OGs
The first shot would never had gone in
WAY HAY. A DOUBLE BOUT OF MCTOAMIN POISONING FOR UNITED AS THEY GO THREE UP
OOPS! That was the replay. Sorry about that
What?
It's not three?
I think you were watching the replay of the second goal, mate. Still 2-0, I think.
Tyrone Mings booked for a nasty trip on Adama Traore
Gordon Bennett MUR!!!!
Yes I was . You miss two seconds and that's what happens
What is with United's marking!!!!
Complete open center of the goal and six yards out!
YIKES!
Wolves take the lead
Ruben Neves gives Wolves the lead
Nice finish by Neves
United are still quite boring to watch...I hate it
Nice free kick . Passed to Neves in the D and he scores with a great first time finish, which I would rate much better than a D
James with a nice cross....almost reaches Rash
Oh - Rashford was lurking while James was crossing. Didn't quite find his man.
I wish United's free kicks were as good as that last Wolves free kick
Pereira still on corner duty... flashed off defenders head
Another one
Maguire wins a header but no where near the goal
I wish United would take a corner as good as Bournemouth's one yesterday
Rash in the book... that was rather rash... it was a foul
Some finals in the Cup and a couple of more giant killings. Maldon and Tiptree , who were on e of Mildenhall's opponents last season hold on to win 1-2 at the Orient Express while 7th tier Kingstonian win 0-4 at Macclesfield. That's three giant killings today
A Babrer Shop Quartet if stoppage time minutes at OT
The boys' tickets on Boxing Day is in the Sir Bobby Charlton stand...so they will have the same view as we do
4 minutes of added time
Zero at King Power yesterday
Too inconsistent
and I'm the only one that seems to care or complain
Bristol Rovers held 1-1 by Bromley as there is an LOB blogging trip of stoppage time minutes at Molineaux
Dan Is burned for a foul on Dan James. At 6 foot 7 he may be the world's tallest fullback
Great stat about Mildenhall being an opponent!
Mildenhall now has a proper stadium by the way.
It is just passed the swimming pool
Very inconsistent
Decent hit... why wasn't Rash ready for the rebound...he didn't follow the shot
Villa have had to make another injury replacement
Second injury enforced substitution as Neil Taylor is on for Matt Targett
Cheers, Dave. I think it's near where Snushell's was meaning it is walking distance from where we lived
So I've watched 41 minutes plus 4 added minutes... and seen no goals
United two up at the half .Wolves one up at the half
Two injuries where players have both had to come off at Wolves...added time.... THREE minutes
INCONSISTENT!!!
Oxford United takes the lead at Hayes and Yeading
The extra stoppage time at OT was due to the lengthy VAR check
Inconsistent....I'm going to start a trend!
Sadly, Snushell's is no longer!
Where did you live David?
I'm google earthing it right now
It was 9 North Terrace
I think it was close because both are near the roundabout, just on opposite sides
Into the second half at OT and United have a corner headed away by the first man
Second half underway from Molineaux
Villa in real trouble, especially if the Hornets continue their steady improvement
Gilbert tackles Raul Jimenez for a Wolves corner
OH!!! Off the Sunday Roast on Sunday by Adama Traore. Could have been 2-0
Back for the second half with a fresh cuppa.
Welcome back, mate. Wolves nearly went two up
Connor Coady down and may have to be replaced. Would probably be Ryan Bennett
was that across from an old movie theater that became a snooker club and now a Jehovah's Witness center!
Gilbert wins a Villa corner, their first of the match
Yes. That's correct, Dave. Spot on
Martial with a shot... blocked...he wants a handball
Nothing given
Just sent a couple of pics
They won't send tho
If your streak of not seeing a goal continues and you don't leave then United win 2-0. I'll take it
Rubbish by Rash
I think I lived only a quarter of a mile from the stadium.
Why can't he be more consistent!!
Seagulls without a shot on target. Better them than us
That was nasty by Willams..high foot.
VAR checking for card...only yellow
VAR check for a red card there. High boot. No red card, just a yellow for Williams.
VAR checking for a red card . I think a booking is the right decision
I want more goals
Rashford has been very poor today
The player Brandon fouled was playing for Swindon last season. He's really made the adjustment to the Prem
That should have been hand ball on Lewis Dun k and a pen. His hand was out
Get pics?
Still think Rashford is being played out of position.
Bad control there by Rash and then a poor shot
He really needs to be better
His mind seems to be elsewhere
Fred has done alright
ooh...great shot...off the keeper and the bar!
This United team will concede and then struggle to hold on
I hope I'm wrong
Struth...how did United escape there!
The defending is shocking
