I've Been There!
I've had my picture taken in front of the United Trinity. What great memories! I remember a guy trying to sell me a scarf right in front Best, Law and Charlton with all the names of the this season's squad. I told him they were rubbish...sadly he agreed with a smile and a nod! Even though they are rubbish, they still have a chance for the top four! It is sad that FOURTH is United's aim but there is something to fight for. Can they beat Watford at home? In past seasons it was a gimme.... this season...I have no idea!
Join me for the early one at Old Trafford and the late one as Everton visits Arsenal. Fellow Europa League foes Wolves host Norwich on Gold
COME ON MAN U

Glad to see Greenwood getting a game
I really hope United attack with pace... FOR ONCE
Glad to see McTominay back in the reckoning. He has been out since half time of the MY Boxing Day match
A win and three points for United would move them up two spots to 5th and STILL/ONLY three points behind Chelsea
They are saying Bruno likes to pass to mobile strikers... I hope Martial and Greenwood make the runs for him to pass to
United must get three points today... they have a tough run of matches coming up
Everton A
City H
Spurs A

Remaining run in

Sadly, I am not confident with ANY of this matches
Wolves Norwich isn't on Gold but on CNBC.... about time NBC start showing more than one game
Shadow is at me for walkies!!
Doesn't he know United are about to start!
Can hear the crowd singing
We Love United
The Stretford End were singing that for a full 10 minutes non-stop before they came out of the tunnel.... I joined in
Morning, UWS - thanks for getting us started this morning. A home match against Watford must be a cinch, even for this United. I expect three points for you lot, which I believe would move you up into that potentially magic last CL spot.
Morning Bob
I hope you're right but.... Burnley match comes to mind!
Teams coming out.... NBC off to commercial
Looking for Wolves match on line and it isn't on GOLD and I couldn't find it on NBC website either
It is on the NBCSN site now
A minute silence for Harry Gregg... NBC finally join in
A true hero of a man
Lovely moment of silence there for the late, great Harry Gregg. Nice one.
And we're set to go - both teams in their usual kits, thankfully.
Away we go at Old Trafford
Thankfully we don't have the three numpties in the box
COME ON MAN U
COME ON MAN U
COME ON MAN U
Good morning, Bob and Dave. Here to join you for the United match.
They're off from OT
COME ON MAN UNITED!
First attack was positive with a cross by James
Morning MUR
Welcome
Can United actually put some games together
Only won back to back games in the Prem once? Did they just say that?
Morning, MUR - welcome!
Daniel James looks well up for it today. Should have been Leeds.
Thanks , Bob and Dave. Glad to join you
All came from our corner!
Just a reminder that Wolves vs the Canaries is not on GOLD. It's on CNBC
Throw in not corner
And on then NBCSN website
This team drives me nuts
After Monday's match, Ole said the team went backwards and sideways too much.... WELL MAKE THEM DO IT!
Former Hornets playing for United are Ighalo on the subs bench. Former United players playing for the Hornets are former United trainee, Craig Cathcart with Clever Boy and Wellie on the Hornets bench
And Foster in goal
Agreed. It's OGS's responsibility to correct mistakes. That's part of being the boss.
Thanks, Dave. How could I forget that one?
The Canaries in an all red kit with yellow trim
Modern day football about playing around the box is so ridiculous!
It is so dangerous
How is it allowed?
It just being snobby
Every match today involves at least one team near United in the table. All the results are important to United today
A Norwich win and draw at the Em
I'm thinking that a draw would be a good result in the late match
United have the ball on the left.... EVERY player is static!
No movement by anyone!
Fred loses ball but United get it back and Greenwood have United's first shot
McLean with a long range effort straight to Rui Patricio.
Norwich started well
I just had a conversation with Kate about the choice of shirt - short sleeve vs. long sleeve vs. short sleeve with long sleeve t-shirt underneath. All I remember is long sleeve shirts when we were playing - and they were really heavy. Am I right?
All the media want red cards in EVERY match!!!
I remember when yellow cards were rare and players really annoyed to get one!
Now...yellows are like subbing!
SIX guaranteed every match
The Gunners play in the EL Thursday and Pompey play Rochdale on Friday before they meet a week from tomorrow.
You are correct
The pros wore short sleeves , but we were forced to wear long sleeves. I wish we had the option of wearing short sleeves.
What are United doing!!
United let off the hook Doucouree shot into the side netting from a yard out ,. De Gea did well to narrow the angle.
The Hornets dominating at OT ,which reinforces what Dave was stating in his post
The pros wore long too... Especially Law, Best and Charlton era
I think short came in the mid 70s
I just don't get this side
How can you be second best at Old Trafford MOST of the season
United will be fifth with a win. They need to do better than this. The Hornets move out of the drop zone with a win, so plenty of motivation for both teams
Of course, Watford crushed us in December
Please adjust... go long!
Why continue to pass around at the back!!
The mid 70s sounds about right with short sleeves.
Teams have no fear coming to OT... so sad
Obi Wan with a shot hitting side netting
Should have done better
The cross from James wasn't very good
Obi Wan shoots into the side netting off a cross from Dan James. Better from United , but he should have put that one away
Ben Foster did well to push away the shot from Dan James
So far, Martial has -1.5 points for my team!
Wolves take the lead.
Of course VAR will check for something
A possible handball in build up but I don't think it was from a certain angle
Goal stands
Come on United... play better!
The Wolves goal started from the back . Raul Jimenez and Matt Doherty combined down the right. Then a pass from Jota wide open and he shot past the stranded Tim Krul
Wow.... Martial actually sprinted... but then passes to a Watford player
Watford have been more dangerous and better team
Pathetic
Agreed. United lucky not to be losing
United have no idea what to do when going forward. They go backwards, sideways or sprint forward with no idea what they are going to do with the ball
An interesting fact regarding Wolves. This is the second time in four days they're playing a team bottom of the league. Played Espnayol, bottom of La Liga, on Thursday, and playing the Canaries today
I should have listened to Shadow and gone on a walk
United still playing so bad
If you had the choice today, which one would you opt for. On a day like this, I'd probably still go long sleeve and then short sleeve in the warmer weather. Ole looks like he's freezing!
Agreed, Dave. I was going to walk Sparky. I will at the half
Bruno passes to Greenwood who tries an impossible one two
Long sleeve
Most of my replica shirts that I have are short sleeve but I do have a few long
I would wear short sleeve if it's above 40 due to the fact that you warm with all the running in the match
I think I'll take Shad at half too
I could have it on my phone
Useless effort by Martial
United with a shot karate chopped into the cheap seats
The possession stat on BBC says United 65-35... what a stupid stat
GOAL !!!JOTA PUTS WOLVES TWO UP WITH HIS SECOND OF THE MATCH. IS VAR DOING A CHECK?
Wolves go two up
Jota scores his FIFTH in a game and a bit
VAR looking for offside..no offside there
Goal stands
ONE player in the attacking half for United...how will they be dangerous!
While Wolves were scoring, De Gea was forced to turn around a near post effort
Those five goals from Jota have been against a team bottom of its league
Shaw gives away a needless corner
Thankfully a modern day one.... doesn't beat first man
I am going to take Shad
He is at me and United are eating at me
I'll be back
Back from an emergency trip to the bog to see that I did NOT miss a goal
Wahay! Penalty to United earned by the new boy Fernandes!
PENALTY UNITED !BEN FOSTER TRIPPED BRUNO FERNADES. What was he thinking? He had a covering defender and Fernandes wasn't really headed anywhere
And Fernandes will take against Foster....
I don't like the run up but Bruno scores!
1-0 United!
YESSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!! FERNANDES SCORES FROM THE SPOT, SENDING BEN FOSTER THE WRONG WAY. HIS FIRST FOR UNITED
I wish our new boy Augustin had done that. Instead, he's mainly been on the bench and has done nowt when he's come on. Well done, Ole!
Agreed, Bob, but at this point we will take any sort of goal.
Not a deserved lead, but we will take it. That moves United up to fifth.
Max Aarons with a stupid foul on Jota in the D and deservedly booked for that
A minute of stoppage time at Molineaux
A minute of stoppage time at OT
Bruno Fernandes shoots well wide with just Foster to beat. Should have done better
United one up at the half. They haven't played well , but we'll take it. Tim Krul does well to turn around a free kick from Ruben Neves. Wolves two up at the half
You lot must be reveling in the sight of United up into fifth place with a bullet today. That could be good enough for a CL slot if the Citeh ban holds. How richly ironic would it be if United took Citeh's CL spot.
Back for the second half
I watched the match on my phone
We are off
United MUST play better
Did Ole do his job at half time?
Back for the second half. You must be pleased with United being up into 5th, right UWS?
Martial should move out wide and Greenwood should move to the center
Yes...but I am totally honest in saying that I want United to play well and entertain me
United have not improved this half so far
What about Fernandes - pleased with him?
Wolves go three up...against my keeper....bugger
WHAT ARE UNITED DOING!!
They are just trying to play around inside your own box
I DON'T GETIT!!
HOW CAN MANAGERS ALLOW IT
And Watford equalize
PATHETICNESS IN THE BOX AGAIN
Sorry, boys - Troy Deaney has equalized through the usual Watford set piece nonsense.
Goal disallowed!
STRUTH....NO GOAL
VAR says handball
Still hate VAR!
United survive and still being pressured
How bad have United been
THREE goals against United taken away in less then two games
Good move....where was Martial for the cross
Look at him....sitting back....GET IN THE SIX YARD BOX
United fans loving the VAR this morning, that's for sure. Still in 5th!
I just don't get what is going thru his head
Is he just lazy?
I don't rate Wolves - I don't know why they're doing as well as they are. They're a Championship level side, IMHO.
And don't get me stated on the Blades!
I truthfully don't
Back from walkies. Troy Deeney scored as I walked in the door . Then while viewing the replay saw that the original shot off the corner was hand ball, so VAR correctly ruled it out, for once. Still sloppy defending from the corner
United have been second best the whole match
Martial misses a chance....gets a rebound and has a lovely finish..
HE STILL SUCKS
GOAL! Oh, would you look at that from Martial. Pure genius!
WAY HAY! UNITED KARATE CHOP THEIR WAY TO A TWO GOAL LEAD
Is he offisde?
I think it will be called back
Martial is cupping his ear at you, UWS. "Still sucks?" You're having a laugh.
2-0!
Goal stands
Why can't United play better?
I still have no confidence that this will be a win
United three points behind Chelsea but have a 2 goal lead in GD
Just enjoy it, you pessismistic wally!
It as a great move down the left. James , Shaw, and Fernandes combined then put through Kung Fu Panda .His original shot was saved by Ben Foster then he chipped in the rebound from a narrow angle
United fans chanting "Bruno!" "Bruno!" "Bruno!" now.
United to play more like they did for the move that led up to the second goal
This has been Bruno's best match as a United player
Oh - Greenwood pulls a great save out of Foster.
Ben Foster makes a near post save from Greenwood
Greenwood with a chance... take it with your left man!
He looks to be a good addition to the side.
Now Dan James has a go. United should be 3 or 4 up at this point.
James with a shot...well wide
At least they are going forward more
Now United are rampant . A cross from Dan James goes in the box, but there wasn't a red shirt top connect
Apparently he really changed the way United played when he came on in Belgium on Thursday
David, are you REALLY confident of a win?
"rampant"?
The free kick comes to nothing and United break, leading Cathcart to have to hack down Martial. Yellow card.
I think Wolves is a good side and their position in the table reflects their quality
I agree with MUR - United are cutting Watford apart now. Chance after chance. Maguire should have put that Fernandes cross on target.
Nice cross by Bruno to Mags....didn't hit the target
Harry Maguire heads a cross from Bruno Fernandes just wide
Sarr comes on for Perreira for Watford now.
Lindelof cuts out a Hornets cross for a Hornets corner
Watford man didn't make the right run for the cross
We Sarr hope he doesn't get the Hornets back in this match
Come on United... score another and don't concede!
I reckon that a lot of the traditional clubs are underperforming, allowing the likes of Wolves and (sigh) Sheffield United to enter the nosebleed territory.
United try to go back with a ball when the ball is passed
A ball was played forward to man is space and the ball comes right back to the passer where there is no room!
United cannot put in a dangerous cross from any of their 'wide' men
Welbeck about to come on to play against his old team
Will Ighalo do the same soon
It sounds like it's Old Friends day on the Watford bench today -Tom Cleverly, Danny Welbeck. Who's next off their bench - Nicky Butt?
YES!!
GREENWOOD WITH A FINE FINISH!!
PLAY HIM MORE!!!
Ole goes straight to Inhale to come on
WAY HAY!!!MASON GREENWOOD PUTS UNITED THREE UP WITH A CRACKING FINISH
GOAL! Mason Greenwood adds #3!
That's why he should have gone to his left the time before
Great work again by Fernandes who's having a great day. Give and go with Greenwood and then wallop!
And just to think that with all of this firepower up front, your top scorer is injured!
Can we borrow a forward off you lot? You can spare one!
Now I'm confident of the win... as Watford almost shuts me up with a shot off the bar
It's like for like for Hornets as it's a return to OT for Wellie as he's on for Troy Deeney
It's 3-0 in both matches
My Scottish Son about to come on for his first match since he came off during my match at OT
Chong and Ighalo coming on too
That third United goal made me think of Magnus Magnusson. . Greenwood started the break , so he finished it. Went on a long run, passed wide right to Bruno then got the pass back and scored with a cracking finish in the upper 90
Here come the three changes
McTom on for Fred
Chong on for Greenwood
Ighalo on for Martial
United have decided to go Half Baked for the last ten minutes - McTom, Ighalo and Cheech and Chong off the bench and into the cauldron.
McTomain on for Fred Cheech and Chong on for Greenwood and Ighalo karate chopped on against hios former mates
Love to see Ighalo open up his United account pretty sharpish
Maguire with a volley... nice attempt
Oh - Maguire trying to get into the party action with an acrobatic effort. Does he think he's Mark Hughes?
It's fitting that Chong came on for Greenwood, whose goal put the Hornets hopes up in smoke.
BOOM BBOM, BASIL!
Ighalo...bugger
Oh - that would have been the icing on the cake. Ighalo rounds Foster, but his effort is deflected off the post.
OH!!! Ighalo should have opened his account .Got the through ball, rounded Ben Foster , then shot into the side netting
Thanks, mate - high praise from the LOB pun master.
SAF looks pleased. United up to fifth place and just a few points behind Chelsea.
Cheers, Bob. Thought you would appreciate that and an accurate description of the match
Free kick from Deulofeu easily gathered by De Gea
In both matches, the EL team is defeating the team in the drop zone 3-0.
United within three points of Chelsea BUT they visit Goodison next Sunday and Chelsea visits Dean Court
There's the live table. United in fifth , thee points behind Chelsea and a point ahead of the previous United manager's team that lost to Chelsea yesterday
Nice pass by Matic to Chong....hits one just wide
Shame
OH!!! Just wide by Tommy Chong ,but he shot more like Cheech Marin, which would explain why he didn't score.
This one is wrapped up, lads, so I'm off to the shower ahead of the late one. Back for the Arsenal in a bit.
Congrats on the big win here.
An LOB blogging trio of stoppage time minutes at OT and five minutes at Molineaux
Great save by Kruhl
Thanks, Bob. Look forward to chatting during the late match
United just passing around.
I don't know why they wouldn't want another goal...it could matter
Sill not a great performance... this is just going to paper over the cracks in my book
That's it
United win 3-0 but still need to get better!
I am off for a shower too....not the same one as Bob!
