The Day of the Uniteds
Morning, chaps - who's up for some ripping United action? I know I am. It all starts with my United at Turf Moor. Last season, we bashed Burnley 0-4 there and I'd take that again for sure. At the same time, Spurs will take on Watford. We don't care about that one, do we? Then at 11am, it's your lot away to Wolves. I'll take another 0-4 win in that one, which would plunge Wolves deeper into the mire. Come on, the Uniteds!

Morning Boys
TWO UNITED WINS PLEASE
Good morning, Bob and Dave. Here for the two Uniteds heading into the break.
Rooting for the two Uniteds and for the Hornets because we don't want Spurs top heading into the break
I'm watching the Old Firm match on CBSSN. Rangers one up in the 88th minute thanks to a header from a corner early in the second half
Morning, boys - thanks for joining me for this one. Most of the coverage so far has been on Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and United but finally they're talking about the match coming up!
It's early doors yet in the season but this one is already set up as a bit of a relegation battle with Leeds in 16th and Burnley in 18th. We need the three points for sure to jump to mid-table.
It' over and Rangers have defeated Celtic 1-0 in the first Old Firm Derby of the season
I have both matches in the Prem going
Tom brought down another TV to have the Spurs match on
Not happy seeing Leeds wearing blue
No reason not to wear white...Burnley have no white in their kit
I have both matches on . Rooting for Leeds and the Hornets in the two early matches. We don't want Spurs top with three 1-0 wins
The teams coming out now:
Burnley: Pope, Lowton, Tarkowski, Mee, Taylor, Gudmundsson, Brownhill, Westwood, McNeil, Wood, Barnes. Subs: Hennessey, Bardsley, Pieters, Collins, Thomas, Cork, Lennon, Vydra, Rodriguez.
Leeds: Meslier, Ayling, Cooper, Llorente, Struijk, Raphinha, Dallas, Phillips, Harrison, Rodrigo, Bamford. Subs: Klaesson, Forshaw, Roberts, Costa, Gelhardt, Cresswell, Summerville, McCarron, Shackleton.
Agreed Dave. That blue and black kit isn't a Leeds type kit. I don't see the number 4
I agree with you mate, although I do like the new blue away kit. Stylish!
As we said yesterday, Spurs looking to go top of the league.
They would be the only team with a 100% record
Tom just said that United will be wearing their second kit. It is the one that looks like the shirt we won our first League Cup in 92. That annoys me....United used to ALWAYS wear red when they can
Looks like a fair number of academy players are on the Leeds bench, but the starters should get the job done
Off we go at Turf Moor
They're off from Turf Moor then SFL II
Come on, you Leeds!
Sissoko starting for Watford a couple days after moving from Spurs
Harry Kane and NOT Abel to win a penalty then Eric Dier with a timely block off his head for a Hornets corner
Bamford and Tarkovsky already in a ruck! Referee having to sort it out.
Bamford and Tarkowski having words inside a minute
Watford go very close to scoring
Tarkowski got a couple points for the take down....in wrestling
Cissy almost with a dream start to his Hornets career as he set up the chance that was blocked
We're controlling the midfield already. Let's make something of it.
I'm so thankful that a move from Leeds to Burnley is no longer considered a move up
Regulon Saar did commit a foul just outside the Hornets box
I second that, Dave. Burnley back down to earth with a thump
As advertised, we've started out with a back five. I don't like that, as we lose Stu Dallas' attacking effort when he plays at left back. Maybe Bielsa will switch it about during the match.
Tarko with a nasty jump there...He could have been sent off already....hasn't even been booked
Nasty foul by Tark on Bamford. How was he even considered for a move to United?
Send him off!
In the match at VR Spurs looking more like the newly promoted team than the Hornets
Why did Harrison pass it back....get it arooss
Dallas....an atrocious effort for a throw in.... fine time?
I think Stu as saved by the fact that the ball didn't go into play, otherwise a fine of a month's wages
Match is at Spurs not VR
Im off for a quick errand
I'll be back
That's right. Thanks, Dave. Hornets still the better team and Spurs still looking more like a newly promoted team than one set to go top
A bit flappy there from Meslier. Cut that out!
Oh - Patrick got behind the defense there but his cross couldn't find anyone.
Shot from Steve Berg-Wine blocked for a corner after Tanganga did well to keep a poor pass in play
I'm hoping that Lord Bamford reminds Sean Dyche of his previous mistakes with him today.
Josh King must have had a coupon for something free at the Delli as he was gifted possession
Come on, Rodrigo - stop giving the ball away!
That shot Saar was straight to Lloris but the shot from the Hornet "stung" his palms
Leeds with 72% possession on the road , showing that they're controlling things, but the Pope needs to be tested
Referee Oliver having a chat with Kal now about that challenge on O'Neill.
Dwight McNeil down for Burnley as Kal is checking to see he's okay
Burnley free kick straight into touch. Bob will take that all day and all night
Ashley Westwood down for Burnley as they win another free kick. Now Leeds attack
Brownhill clos down Lord Bamford and finally picks up a card. This is just about to boil over, I fear. Nasty.
Andre Marriner telling Danny BTO to be taking care of business or he will be booked. Nice save by BTO off the corner
Llorente is forced to concede the first corner for Burnley. Mark 'em up!
Llorente blocks fo0r a corner after Burnley won a tackle in midfield
A big ruck in the penalty area but it all happened before the corner was played. Try it again.
Olly Skipp to the Lou fouls Kuco a foot outside the Spurs box
We always look a bit skittish at corners - fortunately, Meslier punches away to safety. Come on!
Free kick by Manny Dennis from just outside the box well wide
Silly free kick given away in a poor place there by Harrison.
Leeds giving away too many free kicks . Are they impersonating the other united?
Phew! Barnes smashes it home but he'd already been whistled off.
Nice close range block by Meslier , but Chris Wood offside. Now a player form each team is down
Another nasty one there, as Barnes lunged in on Dallas. Yellow card for him.
Barnes and Klich were down as Klich cleared. Barnes deservedly booked.
Burnley's tails are up - this is worrisome.
Etobo booked for a foul on Harry Kane. Looks a soft booking
Now Mini Cooper concedes a free kick
I"m back
That was a real Dier free kick from Spurs straight to the keeper
Phew ! Not too far wide from Gudmunsson
Oh - we're living dangerously here. Gudmansson with a curling effort.
Welcome back, Dave. I won't tell you the scores, but you didn't miss any goals
As much as we criticize Burnley they have tried to attack . Both teams going for it
Danny BTO sandwiches a clearance straight to Delli, but several passes later Number One Son drags a shot wide
Great move...WHAT A WASTE!
Oh - Raph - you have to finish that chance! Nice move there.
OH! Best Leeds move of the match, but Raphina dragged a shot wide
Should have gone back to Bamford. Great movement there from Bamford, Rodrigo and Raph.
Delle sandwiches a shot straight to Danny BTO
Modern Day crossing!
Better from us now. Lovely turn and pass from Rodrigo.
Ben Mee heads a cross from Jack Harrison out for a Leeds corner. He, not Mee
A training ground routine didn't quite come off as Kal had a shot from 25 yards out blocked off the corner from Harrison
Kal picks up a yellow for a late one on Barnes.
Kal Phillips booked for stamping on Ashley Barnes's foot. Given the player fouled that shouldn't be a booking
Oh - another big chance there. Great ball in from Kal but the touch from Bamford was too heavy.
Another chance goes away for Leeds...come on!
Tom says that Amed Dialo is going on loan to Feyenoord
Leeds concede possession in their own half and Meslier does well to turn around a volley from Ashley Barnes
Corner from Dwight McNeil headed over by Chris Wood
Another one....Leeds final ball.... not good
Tark clears for a Leeds corner
Another corner now - come on!
Craig Cathcart fouls Steve Berg-Wine just outside the Hornets box
BUGGER! SPURS TAKE THE LEAD. FREE KICK FROM NUMBER ONE SON FROM A NARROW ANGLE ELUDED EVERYONE. ALMOST STRAIGHT AT THE KEPEER, WHO WAS COMPLETELY FOOLED
GOAL....Spurs take the lead!
Son with a free kick....goes straight in!!
Spurs now top with three 1-0 scores as things stand at the moment
That's a really cheap goal the Hornets conceded
Bamford got free in the box but his shot was from an acute angle.
What do you think about Bamford making the England squad and Greenwood not
Struth....Leeds almost their own worst enemy
PHEW! Meslier did well to clear off a hospital back pass
Spurs....the new Arsenal
1-0 to the Spurs
Well, Bamford did score more goals than Greenwood last season. Only Kane scored more.
I'm glad Bamford made the England squad , but thought Greenwood deserved a chance given his good start to the season
Now it's Ben Mee clogging Bamford. Yellow for him. Burnley are a disgrace.
A minute of stoppage time at both stadiums
Another nasty tackle
Kane in the book
Spurs one up at the half
Bamford hobbling off now after that nasty one. Hope he's okay.
Bamford down off that nasty tackle from Mee , who is he., who was deservedly booked for that dirty team
HT in North London
Spurs lead 1-0
It's 0-0 at the half at Turf Moor
HT at Turf Moor....has there been any cards?
That's it for the first half. A nasty one so far. I'm hoping we can nick one and escape Turf Moor in one piece. Yikes!
Tim Howard sucks.
Second half underway from SFL II
No changes at the interval. Come on, boys!
Second half underway from Turf Moor
COME ON LEEDS MOT!
Nice early ball through to Patrick but he was offside.
Barnes in late again on Kal. Surely a red card is coming.
Nasty by Ashly Barnes on Kal. How is that not a second yellow?
Fouling has been 95%of the action from Ashley Barnes. Otherwise, just a passenger on the pitch. Perhaps a L2 side will take him on next season
Craig Cathcart down for the Hornets
I much prefer Struijk and Llorente in the middle. I'm hoping when we line up against Liverpool after break, we'll just go with a straight 4-4-2.
That's it for Cathcart as Jeremy Ngakia , a recent signing from the Hammers, about to come on for him
That change is now made
Burnley have had several shots on target. The problems is that all those shots have been fouls
Our old boy Aaron Lennon - LUFC Academy legend - warming up for Burnley now. Shame.
Rodrigo into the book now - they're mounting up.
Nice run and pass from Cissy then Dennis the menace is crowded out as his close range shot is blocked straight top Lloris
Then Cissy booked for a foul on Olly Skipp
I've decided.....IT'S LEEDS TIME
I'm ready for some changes now.
Cheers, mate - we need it!
There have been more bookings at Turf Moor than with expedia.
Ngakia heads out a cross from Delle Alli for a Spurs corner
Struijk concedes another corner now. Mark 'em up!
I second that.
TIME FOR LEEDS TIME!
Well defended by Coop. Come on!
MOT!!!
Phew! Brownhill not too far away there with the strike from distance.
PHEW!Long range shot form Josh Brownhill not too far wide
We need to commit more men forward. I'd like to see another forward on.
That Saar was a cynically sandwiched foul by Alli on a Hornets break and deservedly booked
McNeil tries one from distance now - deflected out by Struijk for a corner.
OH! Header from the corner off the bar then a shot blocked.
BUGGER! CHRIS WOOD GIVES BURNLEY THE LEAD
Bugger! Our old boy Chris Wood somehow smuggles one in to put us behind.
30,000 goal in the Prem!
Poor defending...why did Ayling keep dropping back!
Plenty of time to get this back...but they have to be positive
Basically from the fact that Leeds didn't properly clear from the corner then a miss hit shot from Matty Lowton deflected off of Chris Wood and Meslier let the shot in under him. A really scrappy goal
Come on, boy - let's get this one back.
First change for us - Jamie Shackleton to come on for Diego Llorente. Llorente's not ready for a full 90 yet.
Cucho Hernandez on for Josh King as the Hornets make a change
Jamie Schakleton on for Llorente in a needed attacking change
I'm hoping that they'll got to a back four now and push Shackleton up alongside Kal. Or push Dallas up.
Sorry, Bob, but Leeds can comeback. '
COME ON LEEDS! TIE IT UP!
I still blame Ayling...if he darted forward...Wood would have been offside
Number One Son passes to Harry Kane and his pass is sandwiched just wide by Alli trying to deliver the knockout punch
Clever Boy on for the recent signing from Spurs, Cissy
Another chance....bugger
Oh - I thought Patrick was in there.
Pass from Lucas Moura turned around by Danny BTO for a Spurs corner
Better from us - Burnley dropping deep.
United's line up about to be announced....I know OGS will include Fred and Matic!!!
I want Varane to take over from Lindeloff
I want Fred as the ONE holding middie
Kuco sandwiches down Delle for a Spurs free kick
What a rotten goal to be #30,000
Another change now - Tyler Roberts on for Rodrigo.
Is second that, Dave. Definitely time to drop Lindelof. How about McTomain?
Here's United's line up
De Gea
Obiwan, Mags, Varane, Shaw
Fred, Pogba, Bruno
Greenwood, Sancho, James
Leeds turning the screw
Loads of pressure now on the Burnley backline. Surely we've got to get at least one back.
As for United, glad there is only one holding mid...don't make Pogba stay back
This line up.... with Ronaldo in for James
Leeds have been getting chances , but have been denied by last ditch Burnley clearances. Leeds needs to continue applying the pressure
Agreed. Dan James definitely needs to make way
So no room for Rashford in your starting XI?
Vydra on for Barnes now.
Spurs will be top....and boring me to tears
Other than Dan James, everyone else is playing well enough to keep their place in the starting lineup. Skippy will replace Dan James. Rash would replace Greenwood if he hopes to make the starting XI. I would keep Greenwood as a starter instead of Rash
Agreed, Dave. Top with three 1-0 win as things stand. Not what we want
Struijk into the book now for a late one.
Wow - so Rashford on the bench indefinitely?
Spare a thought for poor Dan James. He could have been the big man at Leeds. Now he'll be the castaway at Old Trafford.
Unless Greenwood loses form then he will be partners with VDB
I think United should sell James and Martial
Rashford is injured....shoulder surgery after the Euros
Timely clearance by Ekong for Spurs corner off a pass from Lucas Moura then a great save by Danny BTO from Harry Kane and NOT Abel to score off the corner
Spurs inches away from doubling their lead
Cross touched just before Kane tapped it in
What a shame - you lot completely wasted James. He could have been a star.
Agreed, Dave . Those two are well past the expiration date. Once Rash is fit then I guess he and Greenwood will be competing for a spot in the starting lineup
GOAL.... Bamford taps it in...hope it's onside
YESSSSSS!!!!!!!!
Lord Bamford levels it!
1-1!
WAY HAY ! BAMFORD TIES IT UP FOR LEEDS! CONGRATS , BOB!
Easily onside!!
Get the winner!!!
The goal was scrappy , but they all count. Great skill by Raphinha then a shot from Jamie Shackleton took a deflection off of Bamford , fooling Nick Pope. Congratulations, Bob
Come on - let's win it now!
Leeds fans giving it to the Burnley lot....behave gentlemen
