Sunday in the Prem
Morning, everyone! I'm getting to my chair a little late for this morning's action after a bit of a lie-in. First up is City v. Everton, with City trying to bounce back from their loss to Palace before the international break. Everton will just be happy to be participating, as usual.
That's followed by the big one for the weekend for me - my beloved Leeds United's visit to the new Shite Fart Lane to meet Spurs. This one could go either way. Spurs have been in really poor form of late, but Harry Kane is coming off having scored seven goals in two matches for England. It should be entertaining, nonetheless. Come on, you Leeds! MOT!

The team news out of Maine Road this morning:
Man City: Ederson, Walker, Stones, Laporte, Cancelo, Rodrigo, Gundogan (C), Bernardo, Palmer, Sterling, Foden. Subs: Steffen, Carson, Dias, Ake, Jesus, Zinchenko, Fernandinho, Mahrez, McAtee
Everton: Pickford, Coleman, Keane, Godfrey, Digne, Delph, Allan, Townsend, Gordon, Gray, Richarlison. Subs: Begovic, Kenny, Iwobi, Tosin, Gbamin, Branthwaite, Rondon, Simms, Onyango
Of course the news dominating the day's proceedings is that the Man Utd board have decided to part ways with Ole Gunnar Solksjaer. Apparently they're targeting an interim boss for the rest of the season.
Sterling is seeing lots of the ball and seems to have to beating of Digne on that flank.
Half-way through the first half and Everton are at least holding their own.
Great ball in from Foden but unfortunately for him the only target is Sterling. Imagine what City could do with a decent striker.
Oh - cleared off the line by Everton after Gundogan headed toward goal. Great save by Pickers before then. The Toffees are just about hanging on.
Richarlison with a scissor on Dias, which brings up his fifth yellow card and a suspension.
City have a penalty after Michael Keane pulls down Sterling.
VAR Check to come....
Ref going to have a look now - probably means that it's going to be overturned.
No penalty in the end. Shouldn't that be a yellow card for Sterling if that's the case? More discussions going on.
Everton live again. Half-time is approaching. Almost time for my bagel.
Oh - Iwobi was in there but didn't seem to have the confidence to take on Walker for pace.
Everton just starting to come out of their shells a bit at the end of this half.
GOAL! What a great goal for City!
Cancelo with a great ball through and Sterling just eased it into the net.
1-0!
Only Sterling's second goal of an underwhelming season.
Great time for City to score.
Everton have a free kick, though. And LaPorte goes into the book.
Back with the official LOB breakfast - bagel and cuppa. City are 1-0 up at half-time, somewhat predictably.
The Toffees have a free kick early on in the second half.
Bernie Sanders goes down in the box and there is a short VAR check. Michael Keane escapes again.
Everton have just over an hour to rescue this one - I don't really fancy it.
GOAL! Rodri seals it with a thundering strike from about 35 yards.
2-0 City!
For some reason that cues some activity on the City bench. Mahrez about to replace Phil Foden who was limping a bit before the goal.
City have a free kick in a dangerous position now.
City seem to have this one in the bag. A win today will move them up into second place, a point above Liverpool.
Everton meanwhile will slump to 11th on 15 points. So, they're in the clump in mid-table that Leeds aspire to be in, safe from the drop but not really in contention for anything.
Nathan Ake on for a rare cameo.
Oh - Raheem Sterling was in again, but bollixed up his effort entirely. Pickers did well.
3-0 City (sigh)....
And Pep, much like Jurgen yesterday, has reacted to that third goal by tossing on an academy kid who looks like he's not shaving yet. A bit disrespectful to Everton.
This scoreline is a tonic to City, who's goal difference is worse than Chelsea and Liverpool's.
The young boy McAtee seems really direct. He's looking for a Roy of the Rovers moment every time he touches the ball.
Well - that was really irritating to watch. City as usual predictably efficient, dispatching Everton 3-0.
Good morning, Bob. We all slept in late in San Marcos. Just finished breakfast.
You can Conte on my support for Leeds's visit to the Spuds.
I'm settling in now to watch my beloved Leeds United with a sense of foreboding this morning. We're visiting Spurs who have just recruited Antonio Conte as their manager. Spurs have been in rotten form recently, but Harry Kane is coming off scoring seven goals in two matches for England during the international break.
Morning, David - thanks for joining me. I hope that you've had a good weekend, celebrating Jacquelyn's efforts in San Marco.
We're also without Lord Bamford, Luke Ayling, Rodrigo and, most crucially, Raphinha, this season's talisman, so it's a make-shift front line with Daniel James at the #9 and Matty Klich at the #10, and our youngster Joe Gelhardt thrown in at the deep end again. Fortunately, based on my patented rubric, we don't actually need any points today. I'd be more than happy with a point on the road today. Come on, you Leeds!
Morning Bob
I was around but don't like to watch City
I am here for a bit but the leaves are calling
The team news:
Tottenham Hotspur (3-4-2-1) Lloris; Tanganga, Dier, Davies; Royal, Hojbjerg, Winks, Reguilon; Lucas Moura, Son; Kane.
Substitutes: Gollini, Doherty, Sanchez, Rodon, Sessegnon, Bryan, Bergwijn, Dele, Ndombele.
Leeds United (4-1-4-1) Meslier; Dallas, Llorente, Cooper, Struijk; Phillips; James, Klich, Forshaw, Harrison; Gelhardt.
Substitutes: Klaesson, Firpo, Drameh, Cresswell, McCarron, McKinstry, Jenkins, Greenwood, Roberts.
Referee Andre Marriner.
Welcome, Dave - I hear you on both scores. City are really irritating to watch. And I'll be raking this afternoon if the weather holds.
Everyone is billing this one as Conte's home debut. I hope we can spoil the occasion a bit.
Spurs haven't haven't scored in three matches - I hope that continues.
Thanks, Bob. It's been a great weekend in San Marcos. Heading back tomorrow morning to continue packing for the move.
I second that. I hope we can Conte on Spurs drawing blanks yet again
Let's hope that Kane got the scoring out of his system. I'm a bit scared.
Hiya David
Spurs haven't had a shot on goal in over 200 minutes
Wahay! Teams in the tunnel now, with the good guys coming out first.
Warm greeting between Bielsa and Conte.
Keep those stats coming, Dave - I'm hopeful that they'll keep firing blanks. But nervous.
Well, I was listening to 5Live on the Shadow's walk!
David, lucky you....you missed yesterday's match
Not happy that United make the move without a plan!!!
Carrick...he was part of the problem
We're wearing blue tops and white shorts today. And we're away. Come on!
Positive start for Leeds
Joe Gelhardt straight into the action and he wins a free kick early on. Let's make this count!
Kal has a go on goal - not really his forte. Easily saved by Lloris.
Wow....WC starts a year from Today!!
Nice bright start from us. Let's keep it going!
Don't like it at all - I'm going to miss a bunch.
Like how you still say Maine Road for City's matches
We've got Forshaw and Phillips both playing the holding role, so it's clear what the manager's intent is from the off.
Ahhhh..... Retirement
Wonder when the kick off times will be
There is usually three times, right?
I'm old school, Dave - it's still the Baseball Ground to me, as well.
Gelhardt really looks a live wire.
Oh - Dallas not far away with that drive. We're really playing well so far. I'm delighted with this start.
Hate all this "unstructured Leeds" crap!
They know what they're doing
Jack wins us our first corner now. Come on!
That's the traditional thinking from pundits like Le Sox.
Good Morning,Dave. Love that Spurs stat.
Lovely backheel flick from Gelhardt there.
Another good move there getting Jack to the by-line.
MOT!
Oh - short routine led to a cross that Gelhardt had a go with. Always got under it.
I agree with Le Sox for once - we've taken the home crowd out of it. Great noise from the Leeds faithful.
Looks like kick off times will be....
Opening game November 21st at 5am
Looks like the kick off times are
5am
10am
2pm
The Final is 10am
Harry looks frustrated - luv it!
That actually might help. I can manage the early kickoffs before my later classes.
Jack goes down in the box - nothing doing from the ref. I think he just stumbled.
I will be recording the 5 AM kickoffs. Too early for my liking
Spurs look really out of sorts. I hope it continues. I'm still nervous, as we started like this against West Ham and even scored early on but still lost in the end.
Dangerous attack there from Spurs through Son, but Kal was there with a crucial challenge on Kane in the end.
I'm behind everyone one on the news due to having a busy weekend, but am pleased to read that OGS was sacked. I read that Carrick is the interim manager
James with a chance to cross... went to no one!!
Modern day footballer!
Halfway through the first half and I'm really pleased with our performance so far.
I don't understand the Carrick move...as I said...he was part of the problem...nothing will change!
Who will be next
Rodgers...no
Poch...?
Z...?
No planning!!
I can't imagine Zizou coming to OT - he's never indicated any interest in England.
In the Scottish League Cup Semis
Celtic won 1-0 yesterday
Rangers...post Stevie G....were 0-3 down after 38 minutes to Hibs
Half time it is 1-3
Spurs have another corner - I get nervous every time they go forward.
Derby County...at the Baseball Ground(for Bob)...are now on ZERO points!!
Derby beat highflying Bournemouth 3-2
Fulham are now top dog in the division
Le Sox is begging for yellow cards for Leeds players now. Grrr!
James with a break... again.. cross finds no one
Gelhardt goes into the book for a striker's challenge.
What I don't understand is why the Rams were deducted 21 points. They must really be in horrible shape to be deducted that many points
The ref got poleaxed there.
Hopefully Carrick is around for just a few matches Other than Zizou what great managers are around?
Financial irregularities
12 points and then a further 9
The are 15 points from safety
Struijk's down needing treatment now.
Phillips....dirty bastard...taking down the poor ref
LOL! They're playing the replay of Andre Marriner going down.
I love how we're winning a lot of second balls in midfield. Harry is whinging again.
I don't Kane this season... grow up.. and play!
MOT!
So many negative comments about Leeds from Arlo and Le Sox. I don't get it - we've been quite good today.
Eddie Gray in the stands. Elland Road legend.
Oh - Forshaw not too far away with that shot from distance.
Struijk needing treatment again - Royale kicked him in the chest.
He'll be able to run it off and will continue. We just need to hang in there until half time now.
GOAL!!!!
United Reject give Leeds the lead!!!!
YESSSSSS!!!!!!
Dan James comes good!
Great cross
Jack made that one with a great run on the left and then put a ball on a plate for Dan.
1-0!
Conte for the sack!!
That goal lifted Leeds up to 14th!
Congratulations, Bob. Delighted for you. Keep up the good work, Leeds.
Hard to believe that Bob's United is only three points behind the two Dave's United.
The change at OT won't make a difference for the trips to Villareal and the Bridge
What are you guys doing for Thanksgiving?
Teams out for the second half
More of the same please
Phew! I'm back in my chair and HK nearly equalizes. Great save by Meslier.
Kane with a chance....the normal Kane would have scored
hey....a shot on target!!
Oh - end to end stuff now with Dan James poking a shot at goal that Lloris has to turn around.
ooh.... Leeds with a shot of their own
Saved by Hugo
Toe poke by James
Oh - that corner could have gone anywhere!
Positive start again from Leeds after the Kane wake up call
Hiya chaps. Today's the last day of my library book so I just tuned in to see this lovely scoreline. And Kane's miss. Just how I like it. Diamond for England, pants for the Arsonists.
Conte... for the axe!!
The stadium sounds like the Highbury Library
ANOTHER corner for Leeds
Hiya Steve
I'm now watching the match on Elizabeth's phone and typing on mine
phew...off the bar
Phew! Off the bar there. We're riding our luck here.
Hiya Dave. Invite your boys over for a beer and hand them a rake. That's the switcheroo I use to keep the lawn clear.
Good morning, Steve. I'm loving it too until that deflected shot from Number One SON came off the bar
Looks like the famous Conte temper was in full force in the Spuds dressing room at the half
Phew! Son goes down and the ref waves on.
Spurs want a pen..ref says no... VAR will look
Harry Kane needs to be Abel to realize that Leeds is not exactly San Marino
No touch on ball or player
I can't believe that Son's still playing at the benighted end of North London. Such low ambition, he could succeed anywhere.
Hiya, Steve - welcome!
Oh - Gelhardt has a go now - parried away by Lloris.
I thought Number One SON went down too easily. More so on the replay even though Kal wS,late with the challenge. Son deserved to be booked for diving
Nice save by Lloris from Joe Gelhardt
Gelhardt again - but Lloris smothers it.
Gelhardt straight to Lloris
Absolutely MUR. Son's been allowed to cheat without penalty for far too long. It's only the Gazza lovin' London media that won't ever bring it up.
Bugger... the equalizer comes
Sorry mate
Bugger! Hojberg equalizes. We were all over the place at the back there.
1-1
BUGGER! HOY Berg ties it up. Lucas Mora trapped the ball then passed back to Hoy Berg for a well placed finish
Good to see Firpo back healthy again. I expected big things from him when he signed.
Junior Firpo Kliched on for Leeds
Sorry, Bob. Leeds cab still win
Steve, the Squid games for cheaters like Son?
Really dangerous period for us now - we could easily be turned over now that Spuds have the bit between the teeth.
HIbs are 4 minutes away from knocking out Rangers in the League Cup semi....all Stevie's fault?
Nice block of a Kane Struijch after driving past like a Mini Cooper driver
Is Steve the Villain at Ibrox?
I started to watch Squid Game just to see what the fuss was about, but it was so ridiculous that I couldn't even finish the episode I started. Son should be called out for his diving, OR, have some hairy arsed center back actually go in hard and put him out for a few matches.
Spurs want another pen... not given...never a pen
All Spuds now.Why couldn't they wait until the end of this weekend to sack Nuno?
I haven't watched it yet - it seems absurdly violent from what I've heard, like a Korean Hunger Games.
The comedy villain at Villa Park?
Yellow now for Forshaw.
Elizabeth and I made it through one episode and that was enough for us. I think the millennial are the target audience
Coop picks up a yellow now and Spuds have a dangerous free kick chance.
Free kick chance very central for Spurs
Squid is unfathomly dystopian without a clear explanation of how things broke down to that point. Too silly.
Bob, Squid games is more about morbid gruesome mass death than anything else. You should skip it
We just started Maid last night - very good but bleak.
Lucas Moura tripped in the D.Not sure who was booked
Did you answer me about Thanksgiving plans?
Dier...shot off the post... rebound netted
Bugger
Sorry mate
Davidson Sanchez for Tanganga
Bugger! Dier has one off the post and Regulon mops up.
2-1
Ugh.
This is precisely what I was worried about in the first half. Really good stuff but not enough for us to hang on.
BUGGER! A Dire free kick crashes off the post off a lucky deflection and Regulon puts away the rebound
Oh - we could have used one in off the bum there.
That was a really lucky deflection.Sorry Bob
Definitely off the hand there but no intention really. Did it stop a goal, though? Probably.
VAR check is complete and it's no penalty. Shame.
Dinner with my mother-in-law and friends. Turkey, Ham, Sweet potatoes, mash, and two veg. I don't really like traditional deserts, either pecan, pumpkin, or sp pie so I leave that bit to those that do.
VAR checking for hand ball off the shot from Gelhardt. No penalty called on Harry Kane
Adam Forshaw coming off after another impressive performance. Tyler Roberts on. Have to roll the dice a bit.
Another striker for Leeds as Tyler Roberts on for Adam Forshaw
Sounds like a good plan, Steve.
We're going down the street to my sister in-laws house. Similar but without the ham
Curling shot from Dan James straight to Lloris
At least the spuds have given Leeds a sporting chance by bringing on Sanchez. You seldom see a less instinctive Latin American footballer. His school games master should have suggested darts.
I like how we've just picked ourselves up and played out game here.
South Carolina in the house so the ham is first on the team-sheet.
We're doing a crockpot dish that we discovered last year - roasted pork shoulder simmered in a pumpkin/chicken broth sauce with kale. Risotto and asparagus on the side.
Risotto as a side-dish? That's not Tuscan.
Ten minutes left to try to rescue a point now.
I know - Tucci wouldn't approve.
Another whinge from Harry Kane. Book him, Andre!
Still 2-1 .I'm sure the halftime talk had an effect. A shame about that
Dan has a pop at goal - Lloris behind it.
We won't be too far from SC by this time next month
My friend Paolo was the unfortunate waiter who attended this fiasco. https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/business/1990/11/01/at-i-ricchi-a-fiasco-over-risotto/10eadbec-b32f-4b8d-8025-ce89fe1eb459/
Steve, Fred wants to be Davinson's darts partner
Another Academy youngster replaces Joe Gelhardt, who was lively today.
McKinstry on for Joe Gelhardt. Was McKinstry signed from Motherwell
