Another Dahlgren Derby Day!
Morning, everyone! It's another big Dahlgren Derby Day in the Premier League. I'll be honest - I don't expect much for my beloved Leeds United today, as the Arsenal need this win as much as we do in order to continue their quest for a Champions League spot. At the same time, Leicester will be hosting Everton; a loss for the Toffees is worth almost as much as a win at the Emirates.
Join me to white knuckle this one along with me. Come on, you Leeds - MOT!!

Morning Bob
Best of luck today
Just tuned in the Cock
Sad that a match between Arsenal and Leeds can't be shown on one of the NBC channels
5Live has the live commentary of the match tho
I will hear stuff before I see it...I won't blow it for you
MOT
They are off on the radio
Leicester and Leeds win...easy peasy
Morning, Dave - thanks for joining me. I hope that you're right.
oooh...blocked from going in...good start by the Foxes
We're away at the Em - here are the teams:
Arsenal (4-2-3-1) Ramsdale; Tomiyasu, Holding, Gabriel, Soares; Elneny, Xhaka; Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli; Nketiah.
Subs Leno, Tavares, White, Oulad M’hand, Lokonga, Patino, Smith Rowe, Pépé, Swanson, Lacazette.
Leeds (4-2-3-1) Meslier; Ayling, Llorente, Koch, Firpo; Phillips, Klich; Raphinha, James, Harrison; Gelhardt.
Subs Klaesson, Hjelde, Bate, Struijk, Shackleton, Cresswell, Greenwood, Gray, Rodrigo.
Stupid foul by Firpo. Arsenal have an early chance. Mark 'em up!
I think the radio is over 30 seconds ahead of the Cock
Raph has his first chance to stretch his legs against Tomayasu.
I really hope that Leicester can shake off their European blues.
Struth....Everton score too!
What a horrible minute!!
Bugger! We've pressed the self-destruct button and our old pal Nketiah has punished us. 1-0 Arsenal.
It is so stupid to play like that....MORONIC!
Good Morning, Bob and Dave. Just came back from dropping off Elizabeth at church
Sorry, Bob. It's gone against you in both matches
Leicester had looked very dangerous before that goal
Bad to worse - we're in the relegation zone now for the first time since the beginning of the season.
Morning David
Say Happy Mother's Day to Elizabeth for me
Just saw the Gunners goal. Really ridiculous modern day goal by Eddie , who had a loan spell at ER
Morning, David - hope you're having a good weekend.
Good Morning, Dave. Thank you and please say Happy Mother's Day to Kathy from me
All of this playing out of the back does my head in
Why pass the ball around in your own box? Teams playing out of the back just invite the press and the loss of the ball
OH DEAR
This is horrible!
Thanks, Bob. It's been good weekend.
BUGGER! EDDIE AT THE DOUBLE AS THE GUNNERS GO TWO UP
YES!!
Leicester tie it up!!
Bad to worse - Eddie with a second.
Wahay! That helps.
wWAY HAY! FOEXES TIE IT UP
Terrible defending by the Toffees!
West Ham take the lead at Carrow Road.... they could catch United
Three points behind United with a game in hand with a better goal difference
United are + ONE!!
We haven't gotten going here.
Leeds are making too many mistakes AT THE BACK!!
STOP IT!!
If it isn't working playing out the back....STOP IT!
We look all over the place at the back without big Liam Cooper.
It was a crazy thirty seconds at the KP. Toffees should have gone two up Former Fpox , Damari Gray went on a run and from close range Doucourre had a shot kicked save on to the post then off a throw from Kasper the Toffees gifted the Foxes a goal. Through ball from Ihenacjho back headed to Daka , who scored past the stranded Pickford
The Foxes and the King Power look like they are up for this one
Totally agree - JM was supposed to make us more solid at the back. It isn't working.
Agreed. The mistakes at the back need to be from the Toffees
On the second goal; from Eddie nice run from Martinelli , but lack of commitment on the effort to tackle him. Nice finish from Eddie
Wrexham 3 Stockport 0 with under 10 to go
They will go top on GD with one to play however Stockport will have a game in hand
Gabriel booked for a foul on Dan James.
Cut it out with the stats - it doesn't matter if we've had more possession if it's all mad scrambles in the our own box.
That's a really tight race between two former Football League clubs who have had a really lengthy absence from the Football League
We all love Leeds from the away support!
Nketiah nearly in on Martinelli's cross for a hat-trick.
First Arsenal man to score two inside the first ten minutes in 20 years....Kanu
Many times, things all start one way and everything then changes
That could be today....Leicester and Leeds all turn it around
First real chance to play a bit, with Raph finally crossing toward the back post.
Dallas missing for the first time in 72 league matches
Leeds and Burnley currently a point ahead of the Toffees , who are in the last drop spot. Gunners now only a pint behind third place Chelsea. If the Gunners win Thursday they will go third as things stand.
Arsenal fans being rude to Meslier every time it goes back to him now.
As Dave stated it's looking more likely like United will be in the Conference League
Winder what Steve is thinking. He needs a win to help Gunner's CL chances.
Ripped open once again and finally Cedric blasts over.
More school Boy defending from Leeds. Just let a Gunners player walk through the defense then a sloppy clearance gifted the Gunners a chance that went well over. It's as if they don't want to play today
I haven't heard anything from him - I texted him earlier this morning with well wishes.
Leeds have Chelsea on Wednesday...On the Cock again!
Powerful shot from Saka bounces off of Meslier's chest then cleared away
USA are showing Wolves City
Schoolboy defending is right, David, although we did better. No excuse for Firpo.
A booking for a nasty Ayling foul on Martinelli. I've seen red given for those
Luke Ayling in trouble now - two footed. Lucky not to see red.
JM will need to change Leeds's tactics at the half. They need to get in the Gunners faces
VAR check now...Arsenal fans baying for blood.
Ref going to the monitor . I think Ayling will be sent off
Sorry, Bob
Chris Kavanaugh being called over to the screen. Luke's going to go here.
All these players are such babies....VAR looking for a red
Stupid tackle
I hate that red cards are almost a norm for each game!!
Ref is going to the monitor....it will change to a red
He's is off
Geez
These players are such babies
Raph has to shut up...he's got a yellow and can't control himself
He is sent off and Raph has talked himself into the booking. Hard to say , but Raph may need to be substituted. Having to be controlled by hoist own players
Why does everyone want reds in every game
And Raph is yellow carded. Raph is losing his mind here.
Luke is off - we're down to ten men.
Agreed, Dave. Leeds may be down to nine
Struijch will come on for Jiffy. I would have had him on for Raph. That change is made.
How can Leeds start so badly in such a big game
Free kick near the corner flag is missed by Meslier and just too far in from of Tommy Ya Sue
Wrexham win 3-0
10,000 at the mach for a 5th tier match
Ryan Reynolds will be happy
Ruddy Norah.... Everton retake the lead
BUGGER! MASON HOLGATE GIVES THE FOIXES A 1-2 LEAD OIFF A CORNER
This one is effectively over. We just need to pray for a Leicester win and pick ourselves up again for Wednesday's match with Chelsea.
Terrible news for us.
Hammers two up
Nice corner from former Fox, Damari Gray , header from Rich Arlison saved by Kasper and Holgate easily smashed in the rebound
Ben Rama with the first Hammers goal and Antonio with the latest Hammers goal
Leeds won't have Ayling for the rest of the season
Agreed, Dave.It was a must win for Ryan's lads or else Stockport would;d have been all but promoted. It comes down to what Stockport does with their match in hand
What is going with Leeds...they are playing so badly!!
Still trying to play around at the back
They have lost their heads too!!
IIf Wrexxham gets promoted then that would be four Welsh clubs in the Football League for the first time since 1987
Again...why a card for that one...just because the Gunner complained
Not all fouls are cards
Now Klich is into the book - we're losing our heads here. We could end up with nine men. Bielsa's side didn't play like this.
Another Leeds booing as there was a mastery click on Xakha Khan . JM will need to stop the ill discipline or else Leeds may be down to eight or nine players
How did you pick that fact out?
The Leeds suits looking nervous now.
A stat Bob won't want to hear is that Leeds this season has been the most cautioned team in Prem history. I think that and the defending is why they are in their current predicament
That's some expert anoraking, David.
Raph is being brought back to play full back....he already has a booking...put someone else there
96 yellows...and counting
When I was a university student I remember seeing a British paper at the university library and had read about Newport being relegated from the Football League. They worked their way back up. I think wrexham were relegated in 2008.
Arsenal are behind Spurs on GD....they will a boatload today
Sadly, Leeds are complying
Oh - nearly the third.
YIKES! Thatr's a lot of cards even for a Hallmark franchchise
5Live guys are ripping Leeds apart!
They can't believe their performance
Firpo brings down Saka and Saka have another free kick chance.
Great clearance off the line
IS this the Memorial Stadium from yesterday all over again? I still can't believe that one
I agree with the crew at 5 Live
That was crazy....the one bad thing.. Rovers' manager is Joey Barton...I hate him
Long range shot from Xakha Khan easily saved by Meslier
I don't know why they're surprised - we haven't been good under JM. We just won games against lower level teams.
You really don't like JM
I hate him too, but credit where credit is due. He took over them in February in 17th place. Surely manager of the year despite disliking him. Also credit to him for proving himself in the lower divisions
The last two matches against Bees and Seagulls will be really crucial
Stockport play Torquay and Halifax at home
Wrexham visit Dagenham
All ex-league sides to decide an automatic league spot
It was a straight return for Rovers who were relegated from L1 last season.
I'm just being realistic. We were on track to get 43 points under Bielsa. Now we'll be lucky to finish on 37.
Rovers reserve keeper was tat the Euros last Summer. That's unusual?
That's a really valid point, Bob.
Ben White with a really tarty looking bird up in the stands. He was clean cut looking with us; now he looks like a rapper.
An LOB blogging trio of stoppage time minutes at the KP. A Barber Shop quartet at the EM
I haven't heard Kal Philiips' name all match. He's been a ghost.
West Ham three up
Toffees lead 1-2 at the half
8 goals in three matches in only 45 minutes
Benhrama with his second of the match
Gunners two up at the half. Really sorry, Bob
I'm picking Elizabeth up from church then taking her out for Mother's Day breakfast. I should be back for the late match
Have fun
I took Kath out to dinner last night
Boys coming over today
Great to see the Arsenal old boys in attendance.
Chelsea youngster Lewis Bate coming on for Matty Klich who was cautioned in the first half.
That's a nice evening out, Dave - where'd you go?
If these results hold up, then it's really between us and Burnley for the drop.
Our last three matches are:
Chelsea (H) maybe a point
Brighton (H) must win
Brentford (A) may need a point
Burnley's last three:
Spurs (A) loss
Villa (A) maybe a point
Newcastle (H) will need a win
Fortunately, Arsenal don't look like they're going for blood here; they know that they're going to win this one and there is no need to press the point.
Great support from the away fans, bless 'em!
Good save by Meslier from Martinelli at his near post.
Arsenal strolling it at this point.
Oh - Martinelli bursts through but then fires over from close.
I am back from a coffee run
Raph is coming off
Raph comes off looking disconsolate. Rodrigo comes on for him - probably a good move all round.
Went to a place in Schenectady...Katie O'Reilly...it was good
Welcome back, mate. Where'd you go out with Kathy last night.
Come on Leicester!!
I saw your predictions...hopefully Villa can just beat them again...with ease
Nice one! Sounds like a lovely night out.
Damn...great save by Pickford
Hammers score a fourth!
YES!!!!!!!
I'm just being cautious given the sorts of results we've been seeing from Burnley and Everton recently. I can't see them getting anything next week against Spurs who need a win. So, maybe they get a draw against Villa.
So, even if we lose to Chelsea in midweek, if we beat Brighton at home, all we need is to do as well at Brentford as Burnley do against Newcastle.
YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!
Out of nothing, Llorente scores at the back post from a corner!
2-1
Game on?
Lewis Bate has been excellent this half.
Now we're starting to play a bit.
5Live ahead of USA...is it because of the censors wanting to edit out the language
Molinueux all over again???
I suppose that's true - silly. As if the men watching at home haven't heard it all before.
I don't expect that, but if we could dig out a point, that would be great for morale.
Dick's daughter was at the West Ham Burnley match a couple of weeks ago....she said she was amazed with the language in the stands
COME ON LEICESTER
Oh - Odegaard fires just wide.
Indeed - we need something there.
Leeds had a chance there...find the man!
Never a pen!!
VAR check now for a handball by Koch - no way.
First goal from corner conceded by Arsenal in the league for a year!!
Leeds first shot of the game
Pickford will be time wasting big time
Has he fallen on his knees yet?
That was Martinelli's last run - he's replaced by Emile Smith-Rowe. Not exactly great news for Dan James who has been tracking back into Luke Ayling's spot at right back.
Where did all the Pickford Everton errors go?
It was really something out of nothing. Arsenal had gone to sleep in this second. It doesn't help that their fans are quiet as church mice.
Speaking of mice...Steve will be having kittens about this second half performance
Damn...I thought that was in!
He's got to bury that!!
Pickford wasting time....and getting away with it
AGAIN
Rangers scoreless coming up to half time vs Dundee Utd
Doesn't really matter...Celtic are nine points up with three to play but with a huge lead in GD....much bigger than Northants
Smith-Rowe is upended about 20 yards out. Promising area for Odegaard. Come on, Ilan!
Relatively easy save for Meslier there.
I smell a Fox goal....come on!
City resting players after Madrid....why?
Foul by Leicester on Richarlson...why do that....he'll lay on the ground for ten minutes
This has been much better from us in this second. I'll give it to him; JM must have been able to say something positive at half time.
ooh...a positive comment about JM
Just need one big chance now.
I'm hard...but fair.
I can't stand Lamps..he's going to go nuts and take all the credit if they hold on
That's what she said
3 added minutes at KP
Pickers will try and hold on for all of it
Corner to Leeds
Messi up for it
We've got a late, late corner. Come on!
Meslier is coming up! Wahay!
only 3 added minutes
A useless corner by Harrison....put it in the mixer!!
Three minutes of stoppage time to come. Come on!
Pickford goes to his knees...he should be booked
Arsenal with bloody subbing
Arsenal wasting time now by taking Eddie off.
That's a testament to our performance in the second half that we're finishing on the front foot looking for a second goal.
Firpo.....get a decent cross over!!!!!
Why try and be so precise...Chip it into the box
Bugger....looks like Everton have won
They have won
bugger.... Leeds had the chance
One last free kick here. Meslier coming up again.
West Ham have won
