Qatar 2022 Preview - Group B
Continuing the previews of the Qatar 2022 World Cup group stages, it's time for Group B - the one that we're all showing up to watch anyway.
Prospects: Group B may not be a traditional "Group of Death," but it is an extremely competitive group nonetheless. Gareth Southgate's England, semi-finalists in 2018 and Euro 2020 finalists, are the presumptive favorites in this group but there are plenty of banana peels for them along the way. For starters, they begin their campaign against Iran, the Asian confederation's top team in 2021. Then they've got the US on Black Friday. And if they still need something from their final match, they've got Wales just waiting to spoil the party.
One to Watch: Greg Berhalter's US side is full of talented youngsters plying their trade in Europe, but the jewel in the crown might be Claudio Reyna's son Gio.
Most Likely to see Red: Welsh center back Connor Roberts learned his craft at Burnley under the tutelage of one Sean Dyche.
Most Likely to Attempt a "Panenka:" Iranian striker Medhi Terami has previous.
Worst Haircut in the Group: England's Trent Alexander Arnold has been working a bit too much on the barnet these days.
Key Match: November 25 - England v. US (2pm EST)
Blue Devil's Crystal Ball Says: England and the US' "special relationship" will see them through to the knock-out rounds.
