Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Super Sunday!

There are some super match-ups today in the Premiership. ManYoo have already polished off Liverpool and returned to the top of the Prem. and I'm settling in to enjoy the tasty morsel of Arsenal vs. Reading. Enjoy it with me, won't you?

Nice attacking line-up for the Arse today, with VP and Henry up front and Rosicky, Fabregas and Hleb in the midfield. Gilbo in the holding role.

And TH-14 scores from their first attack! Wow! Basically a training pitch goal with Henry passing it into the net after some neat build-up through Hleb on the right. Nice one.

Half-time - 2-0. Gooner disagrees but I reckon that that's game over. Reading are battlers but I haven't been impressed today. They don't seem to have the kind of creative energy they had in the Coke last season. Nor do they have a game-winner like Rob Hulse. It's just a group of battlers.

Another training ground goal for Arsenal, finished off by Robin van Persie. I've really been impressed by Hleb today. He's making the kind of killer runs that Freddie Ljungberg used to make for the Arse.

Spurs have beaten West Ham, Boro have beaten Newcastle in the Tyne-Tees derby and Bolton have won, all by the 1-0 scoreline.

Those results should seal the fates of both Glenn Roeder and Alan Pardew. I wouldn't worry too much if I were Sir Trev. Of course it's never fun to be in the drop zone, but I reckon if they sack Pardew, get someone useful in as a manager and shop the Argies in the January transfer window, they'll be mid-table by the end of the season. I stick with my prediction of Watford and Sheffield United going down, although I'll now swap Fulham for Charlton.

Sorry I wasn't here this morning. I was at my game.
We won 6-0. I scored two and had a couple of assists.
Good win for my lot.
Arsenal look really good.
West Ham are in trouble.

I was wondering why there wasn't more fanfare on the blog over that marvelous win over Liverpool this morning.

The thing that ticks me off is this: if United have to win, why can't it be Roon doing the scoring instead of England old boys such as Scholes or center backs such as Rio? Or Portuguese winkers like Ronaldo? Come on, Roon! Has the boy scored at all this season? That is a worry for England.

He scored two in the opening win against Fulham and then was banned for three games. He has had to restart the season.
Very happy with the win.

I agree with Bob. If United have to cruise their games, I'd rather see Rooney getting the goals than Saha or Skippy. Or Scholes for that matter.

Wow! See what happens when Rio maintains his ganga intake at reasonable levels. Someone again should attempt to penetrate his granite skull with the news that pot is not a performance enhancing drug.
