Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Here are the fixtures for today:
Chesterfield v Charlton
Notts County v Wycombe
Southend v Man Utd
Watford v Newcastle
They're all due to start in approx forty minutes.
No sign of the ManYoo line-up yet, but I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that Skippy won't be making an appearance at Southend tonight. Expect another start from that FIFA World Player of the Year nominee Ritchie Jones. (Cue accusations of pie-eating and sheep-shagging)
And here's the ManYoo line-up:
29. Tomasz Kuszczak
22. John O'Shea
6. Wes Brown
27. Mikael Silvestre
4. Gabriel Heinze
7. Cristiano Ronaldo
25. David Jones
24. Darren Fletcher
23. Kieran Richardson
14. Alan Smith
8. Wayne Rooney
And I'm man enough to say that I was wrong to question Sir Alex. This is a fairly strong side and even Skippy is in! Let's hope Freddy Eastwood kicks him in the balls. Come on, you Shrimpers!
So, off we go with today's Carling Cup fixtures.
And Chesterfield have already fired themselves into the lead against bottom of the Prem Charlton. Surely, Dowie's end is nigh.
Newcastle have also taken the lead against Watford. That'll perk up embattled Newcastle manager Glenn Roeder.
Chesterfield have hit the bar - almost two nil now. What on earth!
I am here for a little while before I have to teach at the college.
Great to see Chesterfield.
I am listening to manutd.com for United's match at Elland Road... sorry Roots Hall
Good to have you on board, Davey.
Ole ole ole ole...go Shrimpers!
Rooney, Ronaldo, O'Shea, Brown, Silvestre, Heinze, Fletcher and Smith.
Strong team, no?
Did you see that the Toon's reserve keeper that wasn't even on the bench but just went out to warm up had to be taken off on a stretcher.
That's what I said. I didn't think that Skippy would fancy a mid-week evening at Roots Hall, but you never know. Maybe the Shrimpers do a nice paella.
I always wonder how players injure themselves during a warm-up. A bit like Rio falling off his couch while playing X Box and injuring himself not long ago.
Not a lot going on in your match - are you nervous?
I didn't see your earlier post
Take a look at 2:41 p.m.
AAAH, a near miss from Freddy Eastwood!!
I saw it after the fact.
Rooney just had a shot right at the keeper
You're a bit under the cosh right now - are you nervous?
I am off to school.
I might check in from there.
Ciao
OH MY GOD, just as i was about to log off, SOUTHEND HAS SCORED!!!!
WOOOOOOOOOO! I just buggered off to look at exit polls. Go on ye Shrimpers!!!!!!
Have a good class, mate. You may need it. Check in on the Election Night Special later. Mrs. Elsie Ziiiiiiiip! will be there.
Shame - Hasselbaink has equalized for Charlton.
Half-time at Roots Hall - Southend 1 United 0 - nervous yet, Dave?
Chesterfield now 2-1 up. Some excellent giantkilling efforts going on today.
Charlton have leveled it up again with Chesterfield, but United are still trailing. Wow!
Prawn Sandwiches RULE!!!
Up the Shrimpers! I don't believe it. What a bloody good day this is turning out to be. Now home to watch Katherine Harris suck it up. I predict tears by 8 p.m.
One last item - Charlton have survived by the skin of their teeth on penalties 4-2. Shame.
