Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Here are today's Champions League match-ups:
Bayern Munich v Sporting Lisbon
Spartak Moscow v Inter Milan
Barcelona v Chelsea
Levski Sofia v Werder Bremen
Liverpool v Bordeaux
PSV v Galatasaray
Roma v Olympiacos
Shakhtar Donetsk v Valencia
The big match is obviously Barca vs. Chelski, which will be featured on the Deuce for those of you lucky enough to be able to skive off work for that. I'll be following the action as usual from the cosy confines of my office here in Norman Hall - UF. 75 degrees outside today, y'all suckahs!
I had to duck out for a meeting unfortunately and have missed most of the first half of high drama in the big one. Both sides have bones to pick with referee Stefano Farini of Italy, who had a Graham Poll moment where he showed two yellows to Ashley Cole without sending him off. On the other hand, he seems to have whiffed on giving Drogba what sounds like a reasonable pen. Barca lead through an early goal from Deco.
In other CL games, Inter have beaten Spartak in an early kick-off match 1-0.
Werder Bremen are 3-0 up away to Shaktar and Liverpool are leading Bordeaux 1-0.
In the Coke, Leeds are trailing Preston 2-0 as half time approaches.
Sorry to all of you Shaktar fans - it's Sofia that Bremen are pasting. Shaktar are 2-1 up over Valencia.
Leeds are still hanging onto that fourth from bottom spot with Barnsley not playing today. Still, let's hope that the Wise "hairdryer" technique is working in the dressing room today.
Second half starting up again and Drogba's on the turf within seconds with the referee waving play on - Jose won't be well pleased.
Sounds like an incredible match - I'm looking forward to running home to watch it tonight. 2-2 draw, with Drogba scoring his fifth goal in the competition to rescue the match for Chelski in the 91st minute.
Apparently Rijkaard ran onto the pitch at the end to discourage his players from shaking the hands of the ref. Sanctions from Fifa to come?
And my lads went down 4-1 away to Preston. Oh well, Dennis, you win some and you lose some. We're still barely above the drop zone. There's always Saturday.
Just got back from home.
Didn't ESPN2 show the Bayern game.
When was the Chelski game shown.
Way to go Preston!!!!!
I am doing my best Bob
Yeah, sorry mate. It listed the Chelski match on the Deuce but somehow they switched it for the Bayern match. Shame - I don't think I'll bother watching the tape. I hope someone will show a replay of the Chelski-Barca match at some point because it sounds as if there are plenty of talking points.
What a pisser. ESPN couldn't have shown a more boring match and things were happening everywhere else.
Anybody happen to know how they decide to pick the games or do they have an unerring instinct for boring?
I really don't know; I'm just hoping that they stick with their plan to show the Arse today because if I go home after a long day's slog to the likes of bloody Fenerbahce vs. AEK I'm not going to be happy. Good luck to the Gunners today, btw.
I always saw it was the Bayern game
On the Soccernet website and the "Soccer on TV" listing for ESPN they had the Chelski match listed. I swear - I'm not hallucinating, mate.
