Mourinho: "I Respect the Carling Cup"
Jose is at it again today, in full Rumsfield "State of Denial" mode insisting that he loves the traditions of English football including the Carling Cup.
This from Football 365: "The Premiership champions may rest some senior players for the third-round tie at Blackburn but they will not field a team of reserves as Arsenal did at West Brom on Tuesday night.
Mourinho said: 'The Carling Cup is important. It's not the Premiership or the Champions League or the FA Cup but it's a cup and a competition we respect.'"
What does that mean - he rates the Carling Cup higher than the Auto Windscreens? He's having a laugh. We'll see if he's good to his word when the team sheet is announced this afternoon.

If Jose has respect for the Carling, it would be the first thing he had respect for since he slithered onto British soil. It's a gibe directed towards Arsene's squad last night. That's all.

I am home and pleased to see United are winning. I know there are some youngsters but there are some experienced players.

Fair point, Trev. It was closer to a first team than the Arsenal or ManYoo sides this week, I'll grant you. But as Mourinho himself pointed out, they were playing a Premiership side yesterday. Liverpool also put out a mixed side of first and second teamers yesterday against Reading.
The most galling thing I saw this week, Dave, was pictures of Roon and Skippy holding the Carling Cup from last year. They only played in the Final! Did those lads who beat the likes of Scunthorpe on a dreary Wednesday night in the third round get a chance to kiss the cup? I doubt it.
