Alright, guessing the goalkeeper is a bit too easy, so I assume it's a weird one. I'm guessing Ossie Ardiles - mainly because I miss the guy and his balls-out strategy. Love to have the Os down at the Elland rather than Dennis "the Menace" Wise.

You are correct with guess Ossie Ardiles.
BUT WHY
His knees were too trembly to support a higher number?
Nice one, Gooner! Honestly, I have no idea. It was a pure fluke guessing Ossie in the first place.
Actually I know this. They did a alphbetical-order that year. Ardiles was first.
That's just not as funny.

At the risk of being called a rosette-wearing, pie-eating traditionalist, can I again put a word in for the 1-11 numbering on shirts? Ta very much.
