Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

BIG SUNDAY

Two big London derbies on tap today. I am sure you could figure out what way I want the games to go.
Arsenal have been on the road but come on you HAMMERS!!! As for Spurs, they have failed to beat Chelski since the Premiership started. It has to end soon.
I will be on the blog until I get kicked off!!!

A last minute goal for the Hammers!!!!
HOLD ON and then a SPURS win.

From the BEEB

The fall-out from West Ham's goal is almost as dramatic as the event itself. Marlon Harewood is booked for over-celebrating. Then a furious Arsene Wenger has to be separated from Alan Pardew on the touchline.

Wonder what that is all about.

Good to hear from somebody finally

argie bargie at Upton Park
I am listening to Talksport and it got nasty at the end.
Apparently, Pards and Wenger were going at it. Pards celebrated the goal and found his way into the Arsenal technical area. Wenger pushed him away.
Then the players were at each other. Of course, the crazed German was involved.
Interesting.

The radio said that Wenger pushed Pards.

Interesting talk on talksport.
An Arse fan just called in and said he was embarassed by Arsen.
Wonder what happened.

I can't wait to see.

The replays of the scenes near the end of the match at West Ham are quite extraordinary. Alan Pardew and Arsene Wenger squared up following Marlon Harewood's late goal and it seems that there would have been fisticuffs had officials not intervened.

Come on FSC... it is already eleven and they are still in a bloody commercial.
This afternoon's game is being played at
Three Point Lane according to Chelski fans

Sorry you feel rough, is the match perking you up a bit?

12:24 PM

Definitely. I'm hoping that the good karma continues with the MLS Semi Final later in the day. Gooner will be at the match and I'll be watching from my sickbed.

What a match from my ex-Leeds boy Aaron Lennon, eh?

It really doesn't do anything for me but I will give it a look.
Was he at the Red Bull game? They were lucky to get through with that one.
Go back to bed

Yeah, he's a season ticket holder. Must be a glutton for punishment. I only watch when it gets close to the playoffs. I like Stevie Nichol and Paul Mariner as well - our dynamic duo at the Revs.

That should have been number THREE

Last half hour - can Chelski pull it out? Or are you starting to call the engravers?

1720: The last time Spurs beat Chelsea, Nelson Mandela was still in prison and the Premiership didn't even exist. Could this be a landmark day for Tottenham?

Do me a favor.
I am just pleased with the season so far.
Our squad isn't filled with quantity.
Starting eleven I keep but..

12:33 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Wow, I didn't realize it went back that far. When was the last time West Ham beat Arsenal? Good to see the Hammers out of the relegation zone, although Gooner won't be a happy chappy.

Graham Poll is at it again.
Five cards to Chelski.
Two of them at once in the first half because they would move in the wall.
I actually think players should be booked more often for completly ignoring the ref when asked to move back

12:35 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Lot of bookings for Chelski today - five by my count. And they got six in midweek and an automatic ban from UEFA for that.

Would love to see some fisticuffs on the touchline between Jol and Mourinho. I think Jol could probably handle Jose.

Blogger United We Stand said...

Should have been another goal for the Spurs.
I don't know about West Ham and Arsenal. It can't be that long

12:37 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

The defending from Chelski has been really poor today, especially from set pieces, don't you think. Cashley has been rubbish so far; shouldn't they play Bridge instead?

Could Terry be off
YES

Unbelievable; I don't remember Terry ever being sent off. Incredible scenes!

12:41 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Are you banned for three games for a red or is it less for two yellows?
Chelsea play United it THREE games.
Where is that engraver?

12:42 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

I think it's two for two yellows. You might have to face Terry.

1738: London has been a happy hunting ground for Jose Mourinho. His side have only ever lost one London derby - against Fulham last season - before today.

Not a bad record for the "Special One"

Come on SPURS. They've only got TEN MEN

That replay showed why Terry was booked.

From Sky Sports:

"Pardew told Sky Sports: "I apologise if I offended Arsene. I apologise. It was nothing personal, I was celebrating the goal."

He added: "It was shame because it was a tense game and we were under lot of pressure. I was celebrating the goal, that was all basically.

"Arsene seemed to have a problem with that, probably rightly. It was frustration, there was nothing personal."
