Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Micah to Start for England!

Micah Richards has been tapped by Steve McClaren for his England debut tomorrow against Holland. Here's the starting eleven:

Robinson; Richards, Ferdinand, Terry, A Cole, Gerrard, Carrick, Lampard, J Cole, Rooney, Johnson.

That looks like a straight 4-4-2 with Richards, Rio, Terry, and Cashley across the back, Carrick in the holding mid role, Gerrard and Lamps again bunched into the midfield (hopefully with Stevie swinging wide right), a welcome return for Joe Cole on the left and Roon and AJ up top.

Your thoughts?

Welcome back Joe Cole. Andy Johnson, you're on notice, you diving prat!

I like the idea of bringing in Richards for a meaningless friendly. I like involving young guys in training with the guys that have been there before. I reckon Luke Young must be crocked because he impressed me as being Che's natural successor. Yeah, he's Charlton, but he can't do it all.

Carrick in the holding role seems a little light. Did Ledley King beg off? If he is available, I'd have him instead.
