Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Goals I Remember

It's amazing what you can find these days on You Tube. I've recently noticed that there are loads of goals from the 70s out there. So, here's the first in what I hope will be a series of posts remembering the great goals of our youth. Frank Worthington for Bolton against the Tractor Boys in 1974. Enjoy!

Look at the quality of the pitch, though, which I reckon is Portman Road. It definitely has an affect on the goal too, as the ground is so bloody hard that the ball bounces up wildly in the area. But Frank makes monkeys out of the Ipswich defence.

A coincidence a lucky goal against the Super Blues gets posted only a day after Leeds drop 3 pts to none other than Ipswich? I THINK NOT!

Blubber! Ah, it's good to hear from you. No, it's a pure coincidence. I don't have any ill will toward Ipswich after Saturday's loss. After all, we lose pretty much every Saturday and that would be too much hatred to go round. Fair dues to the Tractor Boys.
