We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Absolutely right. I cannot believe that he continues to make the connection between 9/11 and Iraq. Surely a net should just drop down and scoop him up anytime he makes the link?
The only heartening thing is that nearly no one is listening at this point. I was watching a panel with Charlie Rose last night and only Bill Kristol - the truest of the true neo-con believers - was still buying into the "surge."
No, it's just a matter of raw executive power at this point and I'm delighted to anticipate Dubya bringing the whole GOP set-down down with him. Roll on '08!
