Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Well, well, well. Andriy Shevchenko seems to have found a competition to his liking - the Carling Cup! He's got two already tonight in the second leg at home to Wycombe and his on a hattrick!

Chelsea lead on aggregate 3-1.

Meanwhile Watford and Blackburn are tying 1-1. Not much of a match there. Even a win for Watford would still leave them rock bottom and seven points from safety. They're dead and buried. And Blackburn seem safely ensconced in mid-table mediocrity with only the Intertoto to play for at this point.

Frank Lampard has stuck a third in past Wycombe, who were brave in the home leg but are succumbing to the inevitable tonight. Lamps was put through by Sheva, who must be the MOTM tonight.

Right on cue, Watford have scored to put them on fifteen points, four behind Charlton on second bottom. (zzzzzz)

Luton are one up against QPR in yet another FA Cup 3rd Round replay. They must finish it tonight because the 4th Round matches come up on Saturday

Stoke City are one up away to Burnley in the Coke. Burnley were doing well until recently when they've dropped into mid-table, while Stoke's recent form has them pushing for a qualifying spot for the playoffs.

I've just noticed that it's our lad Jay Demerit who's got Watford's second goal, so it's more good news for U.S. soccer. Should be a formality to have him in the next real squad.

Jose has thrown on the scrubs now that the results in the bag - SWP, Kalou and some bloke named Nuno Morais.

Anyone else heard the rumor that Oguchi Oneywu from the U.S. WC squad is headed to Stamford Bridge for £3 million?

One of the guys on Talksport is Gary Stevens- I think he was the one that played for Brighton in the Cup Final in '83 and then went to Spurs.
Anyway, he said that he grew up in Bury St. Edmunds and always went to Portman Road.
Just thought you would like to know

All level.

Looks like The Arse will make it to the final next Wednesday.
