Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

More Osgood!

Right. In order to please the Gooner, here's Peter Osgood's equalizer against Leeds in the 1970 F.A. Cup Final replay. I can't claim to remember watching it live - I was six at the time and still living in Deutschland - but I do see it frequently in my nightmares. Miles offside. Chelski went on to win 2-1. Another trophy slipped through our fingers in the great Revie era.

He was on by a mile.
Interesting that it was on the BBC but it was Brian Moore commentating.
Classic Ted MacDougalish type diving header

Never onside. I noticed the Brian Moore commentary too. Odd that. Classic flashing "Action Replay" logo there.

I am sure their winner was offside as well, right?

Typical Leeds style:

I quote
"Leeds look to be stifling the life out of the match"

Get a goal and shut up shop
