Bayern vs. Milan Live!

It's day two of the Champions League quarterfinal second legs and I'm home from Gville and looking forward to today's ESPN2 broadcast of Bayern vs. Milan. The first leg in Italy ended 2-2, so Bayern are certainly in pole position. In today's other fixture, Liverpool will really have to commit suicide to give up a 3-0 advantage that they take back home to Anfield. PSV will need three goals just to get to extra time! Join me if you're around and loafing off this afternoon.

Milan have come out with intent. They need a one nil win at least and they certainly have the weapons in Kaka and Pipo Inzaghi to do the damage.

Pipo is unusually wasteful there when the ball came over the top. It almost seemed as if he was surprised to see Lucio miss the header.

In the other match, Liverpool and PSV are 0-0 after fifteen minutes.

Both sides are playing it maddeningly safe. That makes sense for Bayern who would go through with a 0-0 - although a late goal would scupper their plans - but what about Milan? Unfortunately these sides have been rewarded far too often for this rubbish. A pox on their houses, I say.

GOAL: 0-1 Milan! Well, just as I've said that, my whinging has been answered by a lovely Clarence Seedorf left-footed strike. That should open up the match.

GOAL! 0-2! And Milan are running riot. Bayern's defense looked criminally absent there as Pipo Inzaghi was played in down the middle and he doesn't miss those. Bayern are in tatters.

With half an hour gone, Liverpool are still holding on to a 0-0 at Anfield. It would be nice to see them run up a score rather than just boring the home fans to death.

Roy Makaay has really drifted out of this match. You really expect more from a striker with his reputation.

Podolski missed a sitter there. That might have brought Bayern back into this one.

Half time (2-0 Milan) comes with Inzaghi wasting an opportunity to make it 3-0.

Liverpool bring a boring first half to a close. 0-0 in that one.

I actually fell asleep there it's been so boring. But Kaka's chance there woke me up. Bayern have been completely toothless.

And speaking of toothless, PSV have made absolutely no head way against Liverpool - still 0-0.

Peter Crouch has scored one to keep the Liverpool faithful warm and awake. Now 4-0 on aggregate.

Bayern running out of time here. They need two goals in fifteen minutes now.

Sir Alex Ferguson is shown in the stands, doing some scouting for the semi-final. It now looks like AC Milan to face them.

England have finally won a match in the Cricket World Cup against lowly Bangladesh. The bowlers did a wonderful job this morning, bowling out the Bangla batsmen for 143 in 37 overs. But the batsmen labored to get that modest score, losing six wickets in the process, with none of the eight who batted besting Michael Vaughn's 30. Freddie Flintoff again disappointed. But it's a win nonetheless and they needed it. They're still in fifth having played five, won two and lost three. They'll need some help from others to slip into fourth spot.

Van Bommel seems the only Bayern player who still cares, fizzing a shot just wide of the Milan goal.

Full-time - 0-2 Milan did just enough in five minutes to kill off a poor Bayern today. The German side was strangely muted. I suspect that the fix was in from the start. Investigations to follow surely.

Liverpool have gone through easily 4-0 on aggregate. Some really lopsided second legs this week, the Valencia - Chelski game the only real contest.
