Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Footie Trivia Question of the Week

With the Concacaf Gold Cup starting up this week - ESPN2 will start the coverage on Thursday with the U.S.'s opener with Guatemala - I thought I might toss a U.S. national team related question at you lot this week.

"Who are the top three goalscorers in the history of the U.S. soccer team? And who is the most capped player for the U.S. team?"

Go to it, lads!

Absolutely right on the top scorer. Eric Wynaldo is still tops with 34 goals. But who are the two players tied for second on thirty goals?

Jeff Agoos is a close one with 94 caps, but there are two with over 100 caps, including the top man. Another guess?

Good guess with Reyna, Dave. He got 112 caps - and eight goals - for the national team before packing up last summer.

Still Gooner gets the nod. Cobi Jones is the most capped at 146 (and 15 goals).

You mean top three most capped? I don't think so, but I'll check. He's definitely not in the top three scorers. Still waiting for the two tied for second top scorer.
