Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

It's a shame to see Freddie go. He's been a loyal servant and was a useful goal-scoring midfielder with a knack for late runs, especially in that record-breaking season. I'll never forget meeting the lad on the beach in Miyazaki and that he was nice enough to pose for a pic with a big American goober.
Best of luck to him and the Hammers.
Now Steve, what are your thoughts about the goings on at The Emirates?
TH14 has gone, Fred The Red(hair)gone, DD gone!!!
Now there is talk of takeover by Kroenke or Ecclestone or both together.
How will the Goooners do this season?
Will they challenge for the Championship? Will they finish in the top four?
Just wondering.
Easy there, Dave. I know that you're anxious to have the engravers round but remember that no one has kicked a ball yet.
Btw, where's Carlito?
Carlito's having tea with his new buddy Freddie . . .
Hmmmmm...Just wondering, eh? Sure you were.
Arsenal do not conduct their business in public. This results in a situation where all of Arsenal's enemies, the anti-London, anti-Arsenal press, the relentlessly predatory Spanish clubs, the fans of other clubs who "just wonder" but who really, don't give a rat's ass about any team but their own, just about take away any joy I might still be able to take in watching my club.
Support your own team and stop bothering me about Arsenal.
I notice that Dave - the master baiter of LOB - hasn't had a go at my beloved Leeds recently. Are we that pathetic, Davey?
I did not mean anything negative or toungue in cheek with my last message.
I truthfully care about your thoughts. I am interested in how you feel about what's happening.
I was asked about it many times when my Yank boss came by.
I really did not mean anything by it. Please believe me.
It was a genuine question.
I dunno. How could you still think that I want to discuss negative situations at my club after our falling out last season over exactly this sort of baiting?
But I'll be generous again and say that anyone who follows the Premiership as closely as you do can see the disarray at Arsenal. Because the club chooses to keep its business private, it makes us edgy and very unwilling to discuss it or the resultant speculation with fans of the reigning champion and those whose teams have a lot less turmult.
I've warned you to watch the tone your posts on this blog and I'll just have to accept that you've forgotten that warning. I'm warning you now. If it's Arsenal, and negative, I certainly do not want to discuss it and see it brought up by you again on this blog.
I AM NOT BEING NEGATIVE... I PROMISE
Can I have that deal, too, Dave? Honestly my club is teetering on the edge of oblivion and may not even be able to begin the season. I do my best to field my dad's comments and questions about it with good humor every Sunday because he's my dad, but it's no fun. And this blog is supposed to be fun, right?
I AM!!!!
You guys think that I am just mean!!
I AM A NICE GUY, REALLY!!!!
Maybe I'm overreacting but if you'll have a quick look at the discussion boards at "To Ell and Back," you'll notice that they've been completely infiltrated by fans of other sides - and especially those of ManYoo and Liverpool - intent on having a go.
Honestly, I have a feeling that when the dirt's finally shoveled onto the Leeds grave in the next few years, there'll be some triumphalist ManYoo fan there tamping it down with his boot. So a bit of sensitivity in this next season, lad, eh?
I feel that I am no longer wanted to make comments. I seem to have offended Steve and Bob with my posting.
I apologize to everyone.
I will be still reading all the comments but I don't seem to be able to type things without being "clueless"
Now, now, mate. No one's saying that. Feel free to have a go at, say, Villa. No one cares. I think all that Gooner and I are saying here is avoid sticking the boot in when someone is down. Obviously Arsenal fans have been licking their wounds this summer over the exit of TH-14. No more needs to be said about my lot - they're dead and buried and even the lads down at "Leeds United Worldwide" have given up the ghost with their podcast.
You know that anyone is free to post whatever on the LOB. And as I've pointed out before, taking the mick is part and parcel of the game. But at the same time, just keep in mind what your friends are going to be thinking about these negative turns in their teams' affairs. An example: if you lot eventually get Carlos Tevez or if the Hammers are docked points by the FA, you're free to stick a "Hammers - Going Down?" thread on here. But do you really want to do that to your mate Sir Trev? Didn't think so.
As always in late July, I'm getting excited about the start of the new season. I'll be in the UK for the first weekend and, of course, I'll be looking forward to your comments. Don't go sulking, mate, okay?
I am not sulking at all. I just feel that I have been accused of "being clueless and putting the boot in"
I feel I have rubbed people the wrong way and I never intended to do so.
I don't want to worry about what I say to my friends.
Were you upset with the Shoot article I sent? I didn't mean to upset you. I just wanted to show you that things get better!!!!
No, mate. That article was brilliant. I loved it. Did you not get my message back?
No need to second guess yourself. In the end, we're all friends here, even if some decide whether or not to participate when they're feeling down about their team's fortunes.
Oi, speaking of Villa, they're on FSC right now against Toronto. Are you watching? I'm going to catch the replay later tonight.
Just got back from college. It was already finished.
I didn't get any reply from you at all
