FA Cup 4th Round
It's another FA Cup weekend, which includes some fascinating fixtures today and culminates in yet another Merseyside derby tomorrow.
Sadly, having been knocked out by non-league Histon in the 2nd Round, Leeds will face promotion hopers Peterborough at Elland Road today.
It all starts with West Ham in an early kickoff. Join me for all the fun and romance of the Cup this morning, won't you?

Magic - the Adthe link has pulled up an ITV1 stream of the Hammers away to Hartlepool. It's 0-0 half way through the first half.
West Ham are clearly the class side on display but Hartlepool are giving it their all and have had the better of the chances in this first half.
Di Machaeli played Cole in well there but the goalkeeper smothered it well. Cole went in on the keeper and the Hartlepool players have surrounded him in a mob. What will the ref do? It's a yellow card.
Coming up on half time now and still no break through for either side.
GOAL! The ball breaks to Behrami in the box and he rattles it in for West Ham's first on the stroke of half time.
GOAL! It's all gone pear shaped for Hartlepool in the last seconds of the first half as the referee gives a dubious penalty for an offense that occurred right outside the box.
Noble converts and suddenly the Hammers are 2-0 up and Gianfranco is smiling.
Hey Bob, I am here for a while.
I have to go to basketball at 9:30 but I will be back for the games for the second half.
As for the link, I have the same as you. I actually go there before p2p. All the links on p2p don't seem to work on my Mac.
Do Leeds play today?
I just checked it out, and Leeds take on young Fergie at ER. I just noticed you said that on the Posting... duh
Into the second half now and the home side are not surprisingly giving it the FA Cup go in front of their crowd. Can the Hammers hang on?
Morning, Dave! Yeah, Leeds are at home to Peterborough, who've been going like gangbusters recently. A win would be a terrific result today.
I agree with you about myP2P. The only link working for me takes me via Veetle to FSC who are currently favoring us with some kind of skin care infomercial. Thanks but no thanks.
I assume you'll be around for the United-Spurs match at 12:15, right?
I haven't looked yet, but is there a link for SS on p2p?
James Collins picks up a third yellow card for the Hammers merely for winning the ball.
Didn't see it. I'll check again.
I will be here
No link for SS, unfortunately.
The crowd sound great at this match
Loads of footie today. You know that there's a U.S. friendly with Sweden tonight at 8:30, don't you? It should be on one of the ESPN channels.
ALL RIGHT!!!
King Eric gets a mention on ITV!!
So do the white suits!
I don't know if I will be home for that. Soccer games tonight.
Did you hear that ESPN may bid for the Prem?
Carlton Cole misses a 1 on 1
I have to leave. I will be back close to half time of the 10 o'clock kick offs
Cheers, mate. I did hear that ESPN will bid for the Premiership. Not sure how I feel about that. It's going to greatly diminish FSC if it happens. And unless they recruit Andy Gray it's gonna be Tommy Smyth and Waldo commentating. That could be dire.
The Hammers are nearly there. Hartlepool have rattled the woodwork a couple of times, but the Irons are hanging on and should be in the pot for the 5th round draw tomorrow.
The Happy Hammers have done it. They're 2-0 winners at Hartlepool. Well done, WHR. Let's be hearing from you today, eh mate? Stellings won't be happy but as a Hartlepool fan, he's used to failure, right?
Blimey, I've just switched on FSC and they're showing the live feed of Soccer Saturday. Lovely jubbly.
No Drogba or Deco for Chelski against Ipswich today. They'll start on the bench. And John Terry is still out as well with Belletti in for him. A bit ramshackle for Big Phil, innit?
Coming up on the hour, SS is still on. Not sure where the boys at FSC will be taking us if any where. I've got the Chelski vs. Ipswich link up on Justin.TV and am ready to roll nonetheless.
It looks to be Villa away to Doncaster Rovers on the box.
An early chance for Gabby Ag but he snatched at it from a tight angle.
This commentary squad is distinctly second string today. They sound like the geezers from the FanZone broadcasts.
Loads of early goals already in Division 1 for Cheltenham, Huddersfield, Northhants, Oldham and Yeovil. Unfortunately no goals yet for the Whites. Come on!
Hull have taken the lead against Millwall and Simon Davies has given Fulham the lead at Kettering.
Leicester have equalized against 'Uddersfield in Div. 1.
Still 0-0 at Keepmoat Stadium. Love that name.
Michael Ballack has put Chelski up over the Tractor Boys.
West Brom and Burnley are locked in a 1-1 dogfight.
Watford have jumped out to a 2-0 lead over Palace.
Well done, Ipswich Town. Bruce has equalized against Chelski at the Bridge.
And Fulham have been pegged back by Kettering! It's 1-1 there.
Another Premiership club in danger today. Pompey have conceded to Swansea.
Boro have taken the lead against Championship leading Wolves.
0-0 at half time at Keepmoat. I'll look for some of your company in the second half.
I am back.
Well done Ipswich
Shocker at Fratton Park
I can't find any links that work so I tried Five Live and it is on
1601: Cupset alert: Kettering are holding Fulham; Torquay are drawing at home with Coventry; Doncaster are level with Aston Villa; Swansea are winning at Portsmouth. What a 45 minutes lies in store.
I would add the Tractor Boys too
Why did the scientist install and knocker on his front door?
He wanted to win the NoBell prize!!
boom boom
Kettering is on the radio
Villa is back on the TV
Heskey back with O'Neil, is he cuptied?
Leeds are goalless, who has been on top?
Welcome back, Basil! How was the morning?
I assume that you're right that Ivanhoe is Cup-tied having played for Wigan in the previous round. Massive loss for Wigan, don't you think? And do Villa really need another big striker?
Mr. Brush to you
I don't know if he played for Wigan against Spurs
I don't think they need him
Watford 2 Palace 1
Are you watching anything on the computer? I couldn't find anything. As I said, Five Live is up and working
Thanks for asking, we've edged it eight shots to four at Elland Road. It would be a tremendous psychological victory to pull out a win today. We're still a long way off the pace right now, but Stockport aren't playing and Huddersfield are drawing at present so we'd hop into seventh with a 1-0 win.
After searching at vain for a Chelski link, I gave up and just concentrated on enjoying FSC.
Five live is great to listen to
Lots of updates
I wonder why it isn't blacked out?
uh oh, Dempsey is wearing Ronaldo-like green boots.
YIKES
Not real good news
Huddersfield take the lead at Leicester
I just looked it up.
Heskey didn't play against Spurs in the 3rd Round
Free kick chance for Villa... Barry?
That wasn't a foul, was it?
Then will we see Ivanhoe in the second half if it stays even?
In either case, you've got to love the prospect of Villa being taken to a replay.
Saved by Keeper
Torquay are all over Coventry
We need a goal! Beckford's come on for Becchio for his first appearance in yonks. Come on you Whites!
Oldham are 3-1 against Stockport. Both teams above your lot
Chelsea just scored
No comments from you on the Oscar thread? Come on, lad. I watched "Defiance" on my website last night. Good one.
Yeah, I suppose a draw would have been a better result for us there. Still, as things stand, Oldham are so far out in front, we'll take an Oldham win there.
That website CAN'T be legal!!
I haven't seen any of the movies
Sheff Utd are two up against Charlton
And Beckford scores with his first touch! YESSSSSS! Boy we've missed him.
1-0!
Scunthorpe have been tied up and Leicester are all level too
Well done!
The fine print says it's legal but I'd say barely legal if that, like much of the footie sites that we're watching. Many of the films have a "For Screening Only" tag on them as if they're the copies sent out to SAG members for the Academy Awards nomination process.
Bollocks was the scorer for Chelski
7th place - lovely jubbly!
He's scored a brace, eh?
Could we get in trouble for watching it?
Boro have been pegged back by Wolves
Are you watching the Kettering-Fulham match?
I think it's another case of too many people watching, like with these footer sites. There is a tag that shows how many people are on-line. There were over 7,000 last night!
Redknapp has made three changes from Wednesday night. So, not wholesale changes threatened.
United have one debutant, DiSilva
Did you see The Office the other night - some cracking practical jokes by Jim on Dwight.
No, I am listening to Five Live
Scunthorpe have taken the lead again
How did Sidwell blow that header?!
Sidwell should have buried that one
Lovely stuff from Jamie Millner there. Excellent Leeds training.
Up to seventh but still five points behind 6th
I DVRed The Office. Haven't watched it yet
3-2 Leicester now!
I won't spoil them for you, then.
Charlton get a goal back against Sh. Utd
Watford are 3-1 up
off the bar by Ags
There's a brilliant compilation of Jim practical jokes on YouTube that you can dial up. A lot of them I hadn't seen before like when Jim showed up looking like Dwight, with the glasses, yellow shirt and all.
BECKFORD SCORES A BRACE!!!
Leicester now on 60 points - they're out of sight.
That was a classic
YESSS! You beauty! 2-0!
Watford are now four one up
My favorite was the episode when Dwight found out that all of his complaints had been kept in a shoe box rather than being forwarded to corporate and he has a sit down with Jim and they lay out six or eight of the pranks.
Bugger, Fulham score!
OG from a Murphy shot
Pompey are still loosing 0-2 and the holder's grip is almost off the Cup
Leicester are 4-2 up now
Danny Murphy has added a second for Fulham.
Portsmouth are in real trouble.
Who's doing the color commentary? A goalscorer in a Cup Final?
Penalty for Kettering
Are you watching it?
Uh oh, Peterboro get a goal back
Goal.. well done Kettering
I've hardly heard the TV. I will take a listen
Petrov doesn't have his shooting boots on today.
Not good. Hang in there, you Whites! We need this win.
I'd love a goal from the Orient right about now.
Inside the final ten minutes now. Hang in there, you Whites!
Boro have taken the lead at Wolves
Doncaster almost in there
Doncaster really giving it a go now. Come on the Yorkshiremen!
AJ scores again for Fulham... shame
Struth that was close by Doncaster
Oh, nearly there from Woods. What a strike! Off the post!
Fulham have scored again.. Zamora scores and Fulham are through
Chelsea score a great free kick by Lamps
Smashing finish to this Cup tie.
Torquay fall behind with three minutes to go against Coventry
Hull go two up
There go the two nonleaguers
Leeds old boy Neil Sullivan keeping the Villans out again.
Into stoppage time at Elland Road. Come on you Whites! Hang in there!
Five Live just left Kettering to go to Doncaster. The TV is about 5 seconds ahead of the radio
Leeds score a third... well done
Yess! 3-1 Leeds. Is it a hat-trick for Beckford? I'm not sure of the scorer yet. But I hope so.
No, Howson scored
All over at Keepmoat. Love that name. Replay at Villa Park. Arsenal, Liverpool, United and Chelski should all send checks to Doncaster.
Well done Doncaster. They hold on for the draw.
You actually think this is a bigger score than it really is.
You don't think of Doncaster of a second tier team.
Jonathan Howson with our third goal there.
All over at ER... Well done
Burnley get a late equalizer at WBA
Full time at Elland Road. Lovely. Two wins in two and suddenly we're in with a shout of the playoffs again.
Sunderland and Blackburn end scoreless
Boro beat Wolves
Shef Utd 2 Charton 1
Pompey are out!!
Is another Welsh team going to Wembley?
Poor old Ipswich. They've gone down in flames 3-1 at the Bridge.
Chelsea through
Hull beat Millwall
I'm off for a bite of lunch. Will be back for the United match.
Millwall fans showing agro... typical
Burnley get the draw at the Hawthorns
Talk to you then

Watford win 4-3. They were 4-1 up late!
Almost kick off time at Old Trafford.
I am little nervous about this one.
Harry Redknapp has a thing about beating United in the Cup.
He was the manager of Bournemouth when they knocked Cup holders United out in the 3rd Round in 1984
He was the manager of West Ham when they beat United at OT when DiCanio scored the goal that Bartez tried to fake him out as he put his hand up to make him think the whistle had gone
Finally, he was manager of Pompey last year as they beat us again at OT
Can he do it for a fourth time?
Classic, the reporter making an after match report on the Torquay Coventry match on Five Live. He said, "you can't see the Sydney Opera House, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon from a Torquay hotel bedroom window and you can't see the Wembley Arch..."
Very clever
And we are off at OT
Glad we have Martyn Tyler on the Mic
Attacking side put out from United
Wellbeck is in the Midfield
What is going on with Scholes!! Two bad passes from him. Corner to Spurs
The Radio is behind the TV. Well done, FSC it isn't delayed
United haven't been beaten by Spurs at OT since '89 with a Gary Linekar goal
Bugger
Spurs score!!
What is going on?
I'm back just in time to see Roman Pavlyuchenko open the scoring for Spurs. Crikey! Sorry, mate.
Nice goal
I agree it's good to hear Martin Tyler for a change. But Scott Mintoe? Honestly!
Yeah, I have to say that that was a quality header from the Russian. It takes some doing to beat Vidic to the ball.
DId you read my other comments while you were gone
Scholes gives it away again
I was wondering if Spurs would rue leaving Defoe on the bench and playing Pav up front alone but I guess not.
I did. Was it Nick Webster who made the Fawlty Towers comment?
No, this was on Five Live
I don't know about this Spurs keeper. He didn't look so clever in mid-week.
Decent effort from Berba there.
Is this Fabio Da Silva the brother of Rafael?
Berba hits one just wide
Ah...nice one. Did you know that Keith Olbermann is a huge Python/Fawlty fan. He's always tossing in comments about having a giant hedgehog named Spiny Norman and whatnot.
I didn't know that
I was wondering the same thing - he looks like it. I wouldn't have him playing center back though.
Keith's a little older than us but part of the same basic generation. I reckon if you grew up in the 70s and had any sense of humor at all, you were profoundly influenced by the Python boys.
I don't think he is... Neville is in the middle
They are twins
Not sure about that headband, Carlito. Looks a bit Hillary Clintonish.
Not sure about the Neviller at center back either. Where's Rio?
The Brazilians just keep producing boat-loads of great young players, don't they?
Still out with an iffy back problem
Great attack started by a twin but Tevez ruins it with a hopeless cross
Great effort from Tev, headband notwithstanding.
oohhhh, cracker by Tevez off the bar
COME ON UNITED!!
Jimmy Arfield is the color man on Five Live
I thought he was sick
Did you hear about the loop hole where teams can decide to go straight to extra time in the first match?
It has to be agreed by both teams at least 6 days ahead of the match.
It is there for the preliminary rounds for travel.
Ohh, great run by Wellbeck
United are getting closer but all the efforts so far are from long range.
Ron hits one just over
United were losing to Spurs and won 3-1 a few season back in the Cup
United only have Fletch and Giggs on the bench
I did but I've never seen a side take advantage of it. Would you prefer to see extra time?
Bugger, Tevez with a great shot. How can this keeper save it after his display at Burnley
Fabio has been every bit as good has his brother
I am totally against it
In fact, I like replay after replay
Great pass by Carrick, dangerous low cross cleared.
Corner to United but it doesn't beat the first man. I can never understand that!
United not playing that bad
Do you know that Spurs have scored more Cup goals tan they have League goals.
You did mention earlier that 'Arry has a good record against you lot. Sort of jinxed the effort, dinit?
Ronaldo has been hopeless today and all season
We should have taken the money for him
I'm not surprised to hear that. Spurs are the classic Cup side, much better in knock-out situations than in league play. Leeds are exactly the opposite - rubbish in the Cups.
I agree - he's off to Spain the summer, no doubt. You'll still get a big pay day out of him.
Despite being behind, you lot are playing well. It's only a matter of time really.
I really like Danny Wellbeck. We'll take him on loan...as long as we don't have to pay his wages, that is!
Berbatov, again, doesn't seem up to the races. Too slow by him
Spurs' socks are ugly!!
Nice run by Tev
Corner to United
I think him and Fabio have been United's best players
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!
Scholes through a deflection... but who cares!!
Classic United move from the corner to Scholesy to hit one. In off Huddlestone, maybe? 1-1!
Off of Huddlestone and an ole by Tevez
I think Scholes should take it
YES!!!!!!!
Great goal by Berbatov
Great control and shot!!!
Oh, quality finish from Berbatov there. Pure class. 2-1 United. That was quick. Puts the boo boys to shame there.
Carrick to Berbatov
To ex-Spurs bite the hand that that used to feed them
