Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

It's Nigel Clough's first match in charge of Derby County, the club where his dad once won the old First Division title back in 1975.
I'd expected Derby to set their stalls out for the draw that they need; but they've come out with some purpose. We'll see how long that lasts.
What a strike there from Chris Commons, surely from 45 yards out. It wasn't too far away.
Giggsy with a decent cross that had the goalkeeper scrambling. Nice layoff by Tevez too.
The game has settled a bit now. Still, as United commit forward, Derby are showing that they could very well hit them on the break.
GOAL! Nani was an absolute corker from out of the blue there. He cut in from the left on his right peg and rifled one past the keeper. The defender should have probably channeled him wide but there was no stopping that shot.
United 1-0 and level now on aggregate.
Rafael dives in rashly and picks up a yellow card.
GOAL! John O'Shea beats the Derby offside trap and coolly slots home United's second. Their well on their way to Wembley now.
2-0 United (2-1 on agg.)
And the United faithful have broken out into a chorus or two of that old Doris Day favorite Que Sera.
Wellbeck hits one that is just tipped over by ex-Red Devil Roy Carroll.
Rob Hulse eludes the Neviller for once but then goes for goal at a tight angle rather than squaring it.
GOAL! Lovely ball in from Rafael and Tevez heads home unmarked. That was too easy.
United 3-0! (3-1 on agg)
Commons lines up a decent free kick chance here....
And it's lofted well over.
Hi, back from the inauguration. 3-0 in the first half? Where's Davey?
Rafael has picked up a hammy injury and is hobbling off to be replaced by Darren Fletcher.
Heya, Gooner. How was it? I streamed the BBC coverage at work. I would imagine that Davey's teaching today.
Right, I forget that it's not a national holiday, just a local one.
We skipped downtown and went to a smaller venue at Alexandria City Hall. It was fine, but the cold really defined it for me. I'm very uncomfortable right now.
Is it just that Manchester have taken their opportunities, because they don't look value for 3 more than Derby. Still, even at half speed they should easily dispatch these mugs.
Half-time: 3-0 United. 3-1 on aggregate. They're on their way to Wembley.
Sounds like you need a jacuzzi right about now. It did look absolutely freezing. I agree with you - United haven't been that dominant and Derby haven't been that bad. Just clinical finishing.
Second half starting up...
Robbie Savage with a trademark hack on Nani there, sets up a nice free kick opportunity for Giggsy.
Carroll just about scrambles it away for a corner.
Tevez slots home what he thought was his second of the evening only to see the flag go up. Close call there.
Ronaldo replaces Nani.
Whew - almost an own goal there from Neville. O'Shea lost Hulse and the ball came over in a dangerous place, leaving Neville with few options.
Gary Neville making way for a youngster James Chester.
Twenty minutes left. Derby have dropped into damage limitation mode and United are blooding some kids.
Penalty to Derby!
Barnes slots home to set up a grandstand finish. A limping Jonny Evans gave away the penalty and now it's game on.
3-1 (3-2 agg)
And now it's a penalty for United.
Ronaldo to take - why?
and it's 4-1
GOAL! Derby refuse to lie down. Giles Barnes bags his second, this one a cracking free kick that goes in off the post.
4-2 (4-3 on agg.)
Full-time: All credit to Derby for pushing United all the way. But the quintuple for United is still on with United claiming a berth in their first Wembley final of the season on March 1.
Hey Guys
Boy that was a struggle!!
Well done Derby, they never gave up.
We have reached another Wembley Final but it was costly. A lot of injuries from last night's game. Let's hope our squad will cope.
BTW, Bob was right, I was teaching
After a valiant effort from Burnley today, which saw the Championship side score three goals and take Spurs to extra time, Spurs finally got the two late goals that spared them the indignity of being knocked out on the away goals rule. They'll face United in the Carling Cup final on March 1.
I could not find a link for tonight's semi final
I came home late to be shocked with the score
Burnley 3 Spurs 0. They go into extra time and Burnley just need to hold on for an away goal victory.
Burnley are two minutes from Wembley but up pops Pavlyuchenko to break their hearts. Defoe scores one a minute later
So, United vs Spurs at Wembley. May the best team win... as long as they are wearing red.
