We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!
Boy, I'm feeling particularly old today with the news that Wendy Richard has died at the age of 65 after a long struggle with cancer. You may remember Wendy from her stint in the 70s as the saucy young Miss Brahms on "Are You Being Served" or later as a mainstay of "Eastenders."

Yes, losing Wendy is adding a few years to my life today.
Are You Being Served could have been the worst show ever made but I still watched it!
