Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

I've got a lovely Setanta stream up through myP2P:

Sorry, that's Sky Sports 1.
Crikey, Darlington have an impressive stadium for a Division 2 side.
Simon Grayson had promised to run out a strong side for today's clash and here it is:
Higgs, Crowe, Michalik, Huntington, Hughes, Snodgrass, Howson, Doyle, Johnson, Showunmi, Grella
Beckford and Becchio are rested after Saturday's heroics but we've got big Enoch and plenty of fire-power off the bench. I'm hopeful.
I'm really glad to hear that Darlington were done over by Aldershot 3-1 at the weekend. Same again, lads.
And we're off!
Hiya,
I'll dip in and out depending on which needy client calls.
UP THE LEEDS!
Fifteen minutes in - we've had the bulk of the play but no score as yet. Colin Todd has, as you might expect, sent out a well-organized side.
Hiya, Gooner!
How was the D.C. United-Real match yesterday?
I'm liking the look of our new keeper Shane Higgs, who we got from Cheltenham over the summer. He's keeping our big Dane Casper Ankergren out of the side, at least temporarily.
Oh, how did big Enoch not score there. Darlington somehow kept us out. But we're knocking on the door, for sure.
Half an hour in and still 0-0. I'd like to go in at half-time at least 1-0 up after all this pressure.
Better than I thought it would be. It was at the Redskins stadium in Maryland but since the time I'd been there before, they've opened up a Metro Station about a mile walk away
It was unbearably hot, 96 in the stadium and 300 degrees Kelvin on the pitch I expect. Neither team could score in the first half, they were able to sub on Robben, Higuin, Gago, Schnejder, etc, and we were subbing on Clyde Simms and Devon McTavish in the second half.
Robben was rampant for about 5-8 minutes and they scored 3 and then went back to their siesta.
I'd like for us to have scored one and we did put it in the net but it was unfairly ruled off-side.
Burch ran over Ronaldo a couple of times and though he had lovely things to say about DCUnited to the press, he wasn't feeling the love that moment.
Leaving the stadium, I was quite an unhealthy shade of grey, and I've recovered only to be quite an unhealthy shade of pink today.
Mike Grella is taking up positions far too wide for my liking. We may need to throw Becchio into the fray in the second half.
Thanks for the recap, Gooner. Get the aloe vera out, then!
A bit of a heavy challenge there from Snoddy and the Darlington forward is limping a bit.
First real chance for Darlington is well snuffed out by Lubomir.
Grella? Is he that Aussie bruiser?
Simon Grayson's sporting the new Leeds polo. Would make a nifty Christmas present, I reckon.
Yeah, that's the one.
I really hope we can stick this one away sharpish. The last thing we need is to tax the likes of Snoddy and Robbo, who are likely to play 50+ matches for us this year.
Coming up on half-time now. We need a goal. Maybe this free kick oppo will do the trick. Come on, you Whites!
Well, it was a cute short one that ended up with Grella trying to thread the needle through a bunch of bodies.
Open net. Their keeper miles away from safety and an open net. Flippin' heck!
Great noise from the Leeds faithful coming now. Marvelous!
Devin McTavish would've netted that one, then, eh?
Looks as if Dean Windass is getting ready to come on in the second half.
More likely than Emilio. Send that tosser back to the Carnivale.
Oh, go on Snoddy, Hit it!
Owner of the sturdiest zimmer frame in Christendom.
Snoddy wins another corner. Time to loft one in to big Enoch, then. Come on!
Dean does look to be a fan of the pies.
Half-time: 0-0. It's been all us but I'd like to have at least a goal advantage at this point. The less we have to go to our subs, the better.
The teams are back out and we're set for the second half.
More pressure with little effect.
Oh, Bradley Johnson strikes the bar. The closest we've come so far.
And now Howson hits a rocket that is well saved by the Darlington keeper. Very positive start to the second half.
YESSSSSS! Big Enoch nods home our first.
Grella fed Snoddy, who chipped in a lovely ball to Enoch.
0-1!
We're piling the pressure on now. Lovely movement.
Oh dear, Colin Todd is unleashing Dean Windass.
Nice one from the commentator:
"So it's a wide man coming off and a wide man in a different sense coming on." Classic!
An hour gone and we're looking fairly comfortable here. I'd like another goal for security.
And just as I typed that, a Darlington forward raced through and dinked one home over Higgs. Fortunately, it was called back for offside.
"Forward on together.....we're going to see you win."
A big collision there and Enoch is down for the count looking a bit shaken. Limping off now.
Oh dear oh dear. Enoch after scoring a beauty spurns a sitter. Totally skewed off his foot with the goal gaping.
Still 0-1.
Grella's had an impressive second half for sure.
Coming down to the last twenty minutes now.
Another monster hit from Johnson but it's well over. A bit ambitious from Brad.
Sounds as if Luciano Becchio is making his way on; the crowd is giving the him the usual "La Donna Mobile" treatment.
Here's that change - Enoch loping off for Becchio.
And it's good to see that Enoch is getting a good hand off from the massive away support.
Fifteen minutes to play. Still 0-1.
Windass gets his first chance...and makes a complete hash of it.
I'd like to see another goal for comfort right about now.
I'm not liking this at all. Darlington playing it about in our half for fun.
Colin Todd keeps tossing players on, but thankfully to little avail.
Jeez, it kicked off here all of a sudden. Only 9 or so minutes to go and you've got the lead.
One more to make sure. Hold on.
Good sight here - Neil Kilkenny coming on for Mike Grella.
Cheers, mate. It's looking good. Windass is on and he can barely move.
Nice curler from Jon Howson - just wide.
Five minutes to go plus injury time now.
Come on, now. Play it easy. Don't give up the ball.
Four minutes of stoppage time to come. Hang on, there.
Snoddy's coming off for Andy Robinson. Good change at this stage.
That's eaten up about a minute. Corner to Darlington now...
And it went slashing right across the area. My heart was in my mouth there.
Two more minutes of stoppage time to come. It's agonizing.
Robbo's sticking it in the corner flag now.
Last minute of extra time now and we've got a corner. Nearly there now. Play it short, lads.
The 94 minutes are up - blow up, ref.
And that's it! We're safely through to the 2nd Round.
Wycombe and Walsall to come in Division 1 now.
And another frenzy of activity kept me from seeing the end. Good showing for Leeds. Having a good cup run is important and it's a pain in the hole to have this tie come so early in the season when you haven't had time to shake out the rust from the summer.
Still, full points and marching on to the next round, eh?
Cheers, mate. Yeah, I'm very satisfied. We rested a couple of key players who are nursing some knocks and still got through a tricky away fixture only hours after our first league tie. Not bad.
Well done Bob
Sorry I wasn't around for the match.
I saw the highlights on SkySports.
That header near the end was bloody close
Great description of your day out yesterday Gooner.
