Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Here are tonight's fixtures:
Debrecen v. Fiorentina
Liverpool v. Lyon
Barca v. Rubin Kazan
Inter v. Dynamo Kiev
Rangers v. Unirea Urziceni
Stuttgart v. Sevilla
AZ v. Arsenal
Olympiacos v. Standard Liege
Enjoy!
I'm back at my break at the thirty minute mark of the first half. All British clubs are drawing currently. The game with all the goals is at Debrecen. It's 3-2 there to Fiorentina, the away side.
GOAL! Benayoun slots home Liverpool's opener. That will give the side a world of confidence after their poor performance on the weekend.
Bloody hell - it's 2-4 Fiorentina now. Six goals in the first half. Now there's good value for money.
And Arsenal have gone 0-1 up through a goal from Fabregas. Great couple of minutes there for the English sides.
Rangers were off to a flyer with an o.g. in the second minutes but were pegged back by Bilasco after 33 minutes.
Surprise scoreline of the night. Kiev are 1-2 up at Inter, the second goal from a Lucio own goal.
Off back to my class. I'll check in at full-time.
I'm back after my class and the Arse are still looking peachy at 0-1 to AZ. Not so for Liverpool who have been pegged back by Lyon. It's 1-1 at Anfield and their season is very much in the balance.
Even worse news for Rangers. It's 1-4 at Ibrox tonight. There's a certain Celtic fan in Columbus who'll be celebrating that scoreline tonight, eh Someone Said?
Jose will be sleeping a wee bit more easily tonight after big Walter Samuel equalized. Still, a draw at home isn't really good enough for them, is it?
Inside the last five minutes at Anfield now. They really could use a late Jermaine Beckford goal right about now.
Sevilla have run out to a great 1-3 win tonight in Stuttgart.
Stoppage time now for Liverpool. Can they pull it out or is it time for Rafa to go?
Oh dear oh dear. It's just got worse for Benitez. Lyon have scored what is surely a winner.
1-2 there at Anfield and the Kop must be deathly quiet. Taxi for Rafa?
365 comments: "Anfield is stunned as Lyon cut Liverpool to shreds down the right wing and a low cross finds Delgado at the far post for a simple tap in. Liverpool are in serious trouble."
And that's it - final score Liverpool 1 Lyon 2. Not good at all for the Reds.
It's a fourth successive defeat for Liverpool and their season is in real jeopardy. They're just about out of the title race and their CL lives are hanging by a thread. What's left for them - the Cup?
More bad news for the English. Mendes da Silva has equalized for AZ with what must have been the final kick of the match. Not as bad a result there but still disappointing for Arsenal fans.
1-1.
Hey Bob
Not good for the English lot today!!
Liverpool did look hopeless.
Let's hope it is the same on the weekend!
Barca lost too!!
Ipswich gave away a last minute equalizer AGAIN!!
Will they ever win!!!
Lyon 9
Fiorentina 6
Costa 3
Debrecen 0
Not looking good for Costa
Barca 4
Dynamo 4
Rubin 4
Inter 3
Sevilla 9
Unirea 4
Stuttgart 2
Rangers 1
Arsenal 7
Olympikos 6
AZ 2
Liege1
Thanks for the tables, Dave.
Here's a thought I had on the way home from work today. We're used to seeing English clubs doing well in Europe at the same time that the England team has suffered. That was most evident in the year that England missed out on Euro 2008 and United swept the boards. Maybe this will be an opposite year. The Italian and Spanish clubs will dominate in the CL while England....will win the World Cup!
Well...it could happen, right?
I'm up for that... just this once
That's big of you, mate!
Well, it's started out to be a bit better a day for the English clubs today.
United have won a precious away win against CSKA thanks to a late goal from Valencia.
Chelski are at 0-0 with Athletico with half time approaching.
Wallop - Chelski are on their way to a 3-0 thumping win against Athletico - no mean feat there.
Predictably Real and Milan are locked in a 2-2 draw.
Well, of course I'm knashing my teeth over the way we switched off and allowed Alkmaar an undeserved point. I think we're a better bet however than L'pool to turn it around. It's almost as if some of the players aren't playing for Rafa any more.
