We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!
I thought you'd enjoy seeing these two classic images that were posted by Todd Lotter on his Facebook profile. My guess is that they were taken after the awards ceremony for the LHS Lancers soccer team after the 1981 season. So, how many of these footballing greats can you still recognize after all these years?

I see Joel, Davey, Bob, Stef and Greg, Jeff Kerr, Phil, and John Devereaux. The others are lost in my memory.
The interesting aspect is that it looks to me that the top image has the 1981 Varsity side standing next to Stan the Man Hunter and the JV side kneeling in front of them. I'm second from left there with my left hand on my knee with my JV comrades including Philly Phil Milton in black sweater fourth from left.
The bottom image is the 1981 Varsity squad. That was a heartbreaking year for me because I did my knee in twice that season and thus didn't have the playing time to qualify for a Varsity letter. Our championship season in 1982 made up for all the hurt though.

There is Kevin Collins over my left shoulder. He was the guy that played for Alcombury the following year and matched my four goals in our 5-4 championship winning game. There was another kid that went to Alcombury with him, do you remember?
Yeah - you're right. I had forgotten that. Collins played for the LHS side that season when the "Dormies" from Alconbury were still at LHS. Was he your strike partner that season, Dave?

Midfield? What a waste of natural finishing ability!

One more thing - why do half of these kids look like Todd Richardello when he wasn't even on the soccer team?!
