Matches for the weekend of February 6th and 7th
The weekend begins with the Merseyside Derby televised on ESPN2 at 7:30 PM EST. Should be a typical Merseyside Derby with no prisoners taken and Raffa's job on the line for the umpteenth time this season. I understand Liverpool can't afford to sack him. I guess it is more economical to hold on to dead wood. The best match, at least on paper seems to be Chelsea vs. Arsenal to televised 11 EST on Sunday on FSC. As a Man United I wonder if it would be more beneficial for the match to be drawn or for Arsenal to win. If Chelsea wins which I hope they don't then Wenger will cry that the referee was incompetent or that Chelsea cheated. More details on Wenger for some other time.United need to do the business against Portsmouth. Spurs against Villa is an interesting match as well. I really appreciate being invited to this site. The title race should go down to the last match of the season. A proper relegation battle as well with about eight teans being separated by four points. That is what makes the EPL the best league in the world.

Morning, ManYoo. Thanks for the posting. I'm usually up with the chickens on these days but I had a late night out and overslept my alarm. Apologies for the tardiness.
My predictions for today's matches:
Pool 1 Everton 1
Bolton 0 Fulham 0
Burnley 1 West Ham 2
Hull 1 Citeh 3
ManYoo 8 Pompey 0 (sic!)
Stoke 0 Blackburn 0
Sunderland 0 Wigan 1
Spurs 2 Villa 2
Fifteen minutes in now and there's a nice cut and thrust to this derby match.
I've got more than one reason to support Everton today. I've been supporting anyone who plays Pool this season after the Steven Cohen affair. Plus, it would be nice to see Landycakes do well.
Come on, the Toffees!
Landycakes gets unceremoniously dumped on his bum by Kuyt who picks up a yellow. Nice free kick oppo for Everton now....
I fancy Leighton Baines with the leg peg for this one...
And it's a corker. Straight over the wall and Reina had to stretch for that one.
Bit of a flap there by Reina. That will do Everton some confidence.
Now Pienaar's gone in on Kuyt and Fellaini's nailed the ball back into the Dutchman's face. It's all getting a bit chippy at Anfield now.
Hey Bob
I am here. I have been watching the match but didn't have the downstairs TV next to the computer
So, no score after 25 minutes
Everton won the toss.... Costa are attacking the Kop in the first half
Who do your lot have today?
For all the bluster, the commentators are right that there haven't been any real clear cut chances in the first half hour.

Morning, Dave! Welcome!
Brill - thanks, mate!
Predicitions??? EIGHT!!!!!!
We'll be making Jeff Stellings cry today. It's Hartlepool away. Three points a must. Norwich have Millwall away.
Come on you Whites!
I thought you'd enjoy that. It is United and it is Pompey. At Old Trafford. Pompey players haven't been paid in yonks. I reckon Roon's going to have a really good day.
Morning ManUnitedrules
Glad to have another United fan on board!
If these guys had sticks, it would be a hockey game. Lots of checking out there :)
Charlton?
On the replay, that challenge by Pienaar was nasty. But it was on Masch, so I'll let him off.
Morning, Someone Said. No guesses as to the result you want here today.
Costa get a chance from a wayward pass
Ngog hits it wide
Defoe on SS... I hate him
Two players down
Hair Bear Bunch with a nasty tackle
I bet he is off
He sen off the the Greek fella for Costa
Oh - that was nasty too. The ref's got to get a hold of this one. Two footed there by Kiriakis on the Hair Bear. Got to be red.
And it is! Kiriakis is off! What about Fellaini?
Fellani's lucky to not get carded for that. Wow. He practically jumped on his ankle.
HBB being stretchered off... red card too?
SS reporter agrees with the ref
Screech's getting his ankle taped on the sideline. Looks like he's coming back in.
How many reds will there be today
United just scored their first.... I needed to get United to a head start because we need to score 8
Now - is Arteta coming on? It's pure chaos at Anfield now. They could use a half-time orange slice and cuppa just to calm down the emotions. Unfortunately, there are eight minutes left of the half. Could get even nastier.
No way Fellaini can play after testing that ankle. Looks like Arteta's coming on.
HBB is off and replaced by Arteta... good to see him back
Costa still have created much at all
Neither side has - it's been all niggle and very little real football.
HAVEN'T
My 0-0 prediction is looking pretty good now. They'll be too busy kicking each other to score. I'd bag 15 points for that. What would you think of a draw, Dave?
Haven't what?
Ah - I noticed now.
Stevie G. suckered the ref there.
Know your own prediction!
Earlier you said 1-1
DIVER... but he couldn't have... he's English
Off the bar!
SS talking Norwich...ears shut Bob
Best chance of the match for Cahill!
oooh Cahiil over the bar.. Should have scored. Offside?
AAH, Cahill heads it high but he was also offside.
Yeah - that's what I'm saying. I'd get 30 points for a 1-1 but a full 15 for a 0-0. As long as it's a draw, I'm happy.
Half time and scoreless. As long as Costa del Pool don't win, I'll be happy
Half-time, then. Blood and thunder for sure but little quality beyond Gerrard's free kick. I'm off for a coffee and a bagel.
Looking at the red card was deserved
You asked about the other fixtures in L1 today. It's Charlton away to Swindon and Colchester are off until Monday. We've got two games in hand on both Norwich and Charlton and one game on Colchester. We've got the second leg of the JPT against Carlisle in mid-week so I don't know when we'll start making up those matches.
Teams back out and Everton look set to kick off the second half.
The second half has already produced more chances than the entire first. They're at last starting to settle down a play a bit.
I am back
Missed the kick off because I was on the thrown
I know, too much information
Welcome to the new kid!
Landy tries a pop there. Ambitous.
I've finally got round to reading Grant Wahl's brilliant book "The Beckham Experiment" and it's giving me a bit more respect for Donovan.
Horrible dive there
Welcome, West Ham! Top o' the morning to you.
Morning John
Do you like Defoe?
Come on Everton... show your man's advantage
How is Tim Cahill so bloody good in the air? He's a midget! I don't get it.
BUGGER
KUYT with the goal
Crap. Get it back.
Big Nose punches in Merson in the arm because of the goal
GOAL! Dirk Kuyt nods home the breakthrough from the corner. Timmy Howard looked bad there. He must command his six yard box better than that.
1-0 Pool!
Now it's Heitinga into the book. Liverpool in full flow.
Gerrard lines it up and pops one right into Timmy's hands.
Come on, you Toffees! Get me my thirty points now.
Let's all sing the Z Cars theme.. Everton's song
Na na na nana na na
Na na na nana na na
Nice run by Landycakes
We are buried under 15 inches, with another 10 on the way. I've brewed some coffee and fried some sausages so all is right until we lose power.
Why do players cheat with the corners?? Put it in the quadrant! It's an inch!
Johnno - Hammers need the full three points against Burnley today, right? A real relegation six pointer.
Dave -- I liked Defoe when we wore the better strip.
Bob -- You finally predicted a win for West Ham! A first.
Ah Z Cars - that show had the absolute best end to the series ever. Do you remember what happened?
I can't believe you have had so much snow.
We have had nothing!!
We got one biggish storm in mid December and that is it! We can see grass!!!
I suppose it's my fault that West Ham have been flirting with relegation all season, eh? Nothing to do with Zola? Or bloody Carlton Cole?
15 inches, eh? That's a light dusting, right Dave?
Bob -- I dropped two disks in the mail to Dunkirk yesterday. You should get them in about a month!
We had about eight inches Tuesday and another foot or so on Thursday. I'm seeing no grass.
Cheers, mate! Your 2009 mix will be winging it's way off to you on Monday.
Looks like Yakubu's been patronizing my barber!
Cheers, mate!
Twenty five minutes for Everton to snatch a draw here. Come on!
Firing up the griddle for pancakes.
usually you're right about us with snow but we have got NONE this winter
I don't remember the Z Cars ending
All the main characters in the series got trapped in a garage and were gassed to death. It was as if to say, "Right - no messing about with sequels or spins-offs. That's your lot. Good night."
Roon, Berba and Nani all in the starting line up
Well done SAF
Man Utd: Van der Sar, Neville, Brown, Jonathan Evans, Evra, Valencia, Carrick, Fletcher, Nani, Berbatov, Rooney.
Subs: Kuszczak, Owen, Park, Fabio Da Silva, Gibson, De Laet, Diouf
I'll take a stack of flapjacks, Johnno. Got any real maple syrup?
Chance for Everton to get it in the box
I don't remember that at all
I heard that Owen Hargreaves had another injury relapse. They're calling him "Perma-Crock" now!
Useless free kick
SAF still hopes OH is coming back but he is out of the CL squad
You can probably get it on Netflix. Everything's on Netflix now. It's bloody brilliant. They've got every single Monty Python episode on immediate play. I've been watching them in the office during lunch.
Everton make two chances and Landy isn't one of the ones coming off
Will he stay longer?
The sting has gone out of this match. I'm ready for the 10 am kickoffs now.
Great now Arteta's hobbling and all three subs have been used. Not even close to the level of a top six team.
Do the Netflix stuff cost money?
I am just a member when i get two movies a month. It is their cheapest deal
That's the ton up and we're only just getting started. Could be an epic day, gents.
FEED THE YAK
With your membership, you get the two movies a month. But you can also click on certain titles that have a button that says "Play" and you can watch them right then and there. The Python series is one of those. Along with loads of other titles. Have fun with it.
Indeed - the ball should really rocket off that freshly shaven bonce.
I think that I read that he's on loan until the MLS season starts up in March. That should be the deal with Becks too but he's got the special dispensation.
Will do
Just over ten to play now....
Would he want to stay.. I would
10 to go
I don't think there's a possibility of that. And the Galaxy and the MLS need him!
I reckon that Landycakes saw some of the tackles flying in in the first half and said, "I'm not having any of that bollocks."
Corner to Everton....
Decent ball over but punched clear by Reina.
Do something with this!
Oh, it's boiled over again. Anichibe and Gerrard right in the middle of it.
There is some argy bargy
That was nasty by Gerrard.
He is a nasty player too
Should be a straight red for Gerrard.
Nope - he's an England player so he gets a yellow. Yellow also for Anichebe.
The commentators are right - this could easily have ended up 8 v. 8.
Kick the ball, not the other team's players. Stupid.
Just like the FA Cup last year.... go on a commercial break ESPN so Everton can score
Can you make out that chant? Something like "You're just a fat...." for Yak.
Play it to feet!
didn't hear it
ooh, Yak almost shoves the chant back down the Kop's throat
Yak produces a great save out of Reina.
Clean shot by the Yak.
Chance for the Toffees to pump a long ball in here....
As usual, far too much protection for the keeper. No, it's offside.
Never a foul!!
oh, offside
milking the clock
Five, six minutes added time coming?
I hate it that Costa have hopeless and their going to get another win
Five minutes of added time
Bob, do want that wig? It would keep you warm in Fredonia
Get it over!!!
Maxi's day is over. Didn't see much of his magic today.
That was never a foul at the top of the box!
Off to do some shoveling. Later gentlemen.
STOP THE BLOODY SUBSTITUTING!!!
Pinaear off
Get up Gerrard! you're not hurt
I am starting to really dislike Gerrard while playing in red. He is become a big cheat
Oh, that's scandalous. Stevie G. completely sold that card, going down like a sack of spuds holding his face. Pienaar picks up a second yellow for that and he's on his bike.
I'm really disgusted by Gerrard's behavior today.
Bugger
Costa win
Now ready for our 'eight' goals
That's the lot. Liverpool delight but really - that's a rubbish win. Both teams were poor, to be fair, and neither deserved a win. Good luck with the shoveling, Someone.
That win puts Liverpool up into fourth ahead of Spurs' match against Villa later in the day.
Now - on with some proper football. It's try to see Jeff crying.
Come on, you mighty Whites!
Just went to VSS. The United link is a the Merseyside derby. They better change soon
Hello guys .
Hope you are all well . All good here
in England .
Simon Grayson is starting with three strikers up front for us today - JB, Becchio and new boy Gary McSheffrey. Snoddy drops to the bench for a much needed rest. Grayson was very critical of Snoddy after Wednesday loss to Spurs.
Welcome, Tony. How are things in Blighty?
FSC are suddenly in love with Man Citeh. It's Hull v. Citeh coming up on the channel.
Hi Bob .
It's a bit dull and misty , though not too cold . How about NY ?
Hey Bruv
We're just cold in Eastern NY
Gerrard thinks that the "ref was absolutely superb" today. Big surprise there.
18F here in Western NY. Par for the course this time of year. I'll likely walk over to campus after the late match.
Full slate of games in the Prem in midweek.
Arsenal Costa
Villa United
Everton Chelsea
Jamie is not critical of Gerrard... big surprise
No one sees the down side of him
My United link still on Sky's Merseyside coverage
SWITCH!!
Soccer Saturday still going strong on that link you gave me earlier. Cheers, mate!
Kick-off time - here we go!
Brother Tony about to bugger off
Both of brothers and sisters off together to London to go see Todd Rundgren. I feel left out!
Roon getting the award for Player of the Month there. 22 goals so far this year.
Best of luck all of you
I had to change links
Todd is God!
The Tractor Roys score the first goal of the day
Ipswich have got the first goal of the afternoon kickoffs.
Cheers, mate. The goals will soon be flying in at OT.
United must have lost the toss
Attacking the Stretford End
Jozy nearly onto a long throw there. A bit manhandled to be fair. I'd love to see him getting in amongst the goals.
Don't they always win the toss? It's the double-headed coin policy at OT.
Come on link... stop going out
Oh, Jozy's is hacked down by Toure and he's picked up a yellow. Nice stuff from Jozy there.
A yellow card for Toure
Free kick chance
Goal for Norwich!
Just wide by Beckford. Come on - we want your 25th, JB. And 26th and 27th.
Struth - Norwich are up already. Chris Martin with his 19th.
What did you guys do against Norwich?
Frustrated with United link
Got an Athde one but it keeps pausing
Take some pictures of Todd Bruv
Bloody drummer at Blackpool
Goal at Stoke for the host against Rovers
I love the Blackpool drummer. But I'm sure that Alan Smith doesn't.
Atdhe link going... fingers crossed
All us so far. Jon Howson with a shot just wide.
You guys on the road?
Bobby Charlton in the stands look Russian with his hat on. Of course, today is the 52nd anniversary of Munich
oooh, Evans hits a header inches wide!!
Yeah - we're away to Hartlepool.
COME ON MANU
COME ON MANU
COME ON MANU
COME ON MANU
Pompey get shot off but saved at VDS front post
He should have gone to the back post
VDS made to make another save. Simple one this time
Come on United... you have to score 8
To answer your earlier question, we beat Norwich 2-1 at Elland Road in October. We haven't played the return leg at Carrow Road.
Uh oh - Burnley have scored. Sorry, Johnno.
Uh oh
Burnley take the lead against the other Claret and Blue team
Sorry Johnno
Sorry - it's Ian Dowie who's battling the Blackpool drummer. Classic!
United will top of the league at the end of the weekend if we win by more than two and Chelsea dont beat the Arse
Bottom of the table Stockport have taken the lead against the Dons.
nani hits one wide
Becchio with a header just tipped over by Hartlepool's tubby keeper.
Hull are giving it a right go against Citeh. Stephen Hunt with a worthless free kick there, though.
Is Rio the right choice for Captain?
I would have picked Gerrard or Rooney
Great run by Valencia
Useless cross
No goals for United after 19 minutes.... where are the 8 Dahlgren???
Wigan take the lead at the Stadium of Light
