A Big SATURDAY!
A big Saturday in all Divisions today. The big four are all playing today. Man United do have a the late game. Will they need to catch up? Will they extend their lead?
There is a huge match in League One! The top two play at Carrow Road.
I think Bob won't be around today but I will keep the home fires burning
COME ON BOTH UNITEDS!!!
UWS

Got a great link of Soccer Saturday going
http://www.justin.tv/vip__tv3#r=4T1xzqE~
Cardiff are beating Crystal Palace 1-0
Looking forward to big wins for the Second City today!! Birmingham and Villa both to win you be FANTASTIC!
Sad rumors going around Mildnehall
Brother Tony has told me that Snushells Fish and Chip Shop could be closing!
There is another chip shop either opened or about to opened on Main Street but what a bummer!
Snushells has been a fixture in Mildenhall. It brings back childhood memories. It would be really sad to see Snushells go out of business.
Morning, Dave. Thanks for starting us up today. Unfortunately, I'll be at our college research symposium today rather than in my footie bunker where I'd rather be on a Saturday morning.
I will be back for the opening of the New England Revolution's season against the Galaxy later tonight.
Good Morning BD and MUR
I thought you weren't going to be around Bob
I would luv this if this happened luv it!
"Using the Premier League predictor link earlier this week, I've got Birmingham 1-1 Arsenal (Lawro copied me) and Chelsea 2-2 Aston Villa. Man United to win 2-1 against Bolton."
Very creepy!
Today's fixtures
Chelsea vs Aston Villa
Spurs vs Portsmouth
FA CUP SEMI FINALS!!!!!!!
Bugger, just lost my great Soccer Saturday link right when they were talking about United's run in!
Bayern vs United is on my MSG Plus channel this Tuesday and not on FSC. I prefer it on this channel. It is HD
Charlie Nicholas thinks that if Chelsea don't win today they will drop out of the race

Just noticed that Drogba is on the bench... WHY?
While Bob is busy in Academia , his team is going to bounce back and win at our old stomping grounds!
Crystal Palace lose at home to Cardiff
They are in major troubs
Fulham have left out Zamora, Duff and Murphy for the Hull match
Looking at Europa!
For Bob
Starting line up for Leeds
Higgs

Becchio
Beckford
Some changes made by the Gaffer
Predictions for League 1
Norwich 1 Leeds 2
Huddersfield 2 Charlton 0
Millwall 3 Stockport 0
Yikes
From optajoe on Twitter: "In the five league games that Didier Drogba hasn't started for Chelsea this season, the Blues have scored 18 goals. Options."
Ken Bates on SS
We are off at WHL
Wonder if we are behind SS
I've got a terrifically clear Veetle link up but unfortunately, the commentary is in Portuguese.
Campbell and Song the central pair for us today. Lots were predicting that he'd rest Sol for the Barca visit. Rosicky back, Denilson and Diaby in the mid, Walcott the other side, Arshavin and Bendtner up top.
Bakary Sagna, dreadlock right-back, yi-yi-yi, yi-ye-yi-yi, yi-yi-yi-yi-yi-ye-yi-yi.
Diaby with a great chance.
Morning Stevo!
Reading have taken the lead against WBA
First goal in League 1
Bristol Rovers 0 Southend 1
Villa controlling the match inside the first 8 minutes.
Long may it continue
Hiya Davey. 7 minutes gone and it's cagey in Brum. I'd have thought our best strategy would be to attack relentlessly this half to get a few goals so that we can sub out important guys for midweek.
We keep fouling these guys in our half. This is free kick 4 already. Fabregas in particular gave away a good position for no reason at all.
We need to settle, and then punish.
Found an English link yet?
Walcott brought down by Ridgewell, but the ref is following the Eduardo embargo. Bugger, that would have been a nice start against these trolls.
Not looking for it until the half. And frankly, the picture is so good it's like watching a telly. I might just stick with it.
No goals in the Premier League after 13 minutes
Both teams have started well at Carrow Road
Becchio has been kicked in the face. Leeds playing with 10 men while he is getting lengthy treatment
Stockport 'not doing that badly'at Millwall
Birmingham are old! Ferguson, Carr, Banjo-boy-Bowyer. Make those pensioners run--a lot!
BUGGER!!! Chelsea have taken the lead!!!
The Beeb webpage is way ahead of my SS link
Lamps with a the goal
Song takes one for the team. McFadyen was ready to take off towards goal. Yellow for Song and another effing free for Brum.
You should turn the sound down and have the SS link on with the sound
http://www.justin.tv/wocky_jilson#r=4T1xzqE~
Hull have taken the lead against Fulham from the spot
Pompey go very close to scoring.
Walcott almost able to take care of a defensive error from Ridgewell. He didn't tackle strong enough and they were able to recover. Hart in no-man's land too. Shame.
That goal at the Bridge was against the run of play
COME ON VILLA!!
I'm learning Portuguese. Bem dia, Davidinho!
Are you starting to wink?
Fall over?
Beat England on penalties?
Luton are FOUR UP inside 23 minutes!
Is it your saint's day today? I see McLeish wearing a daff on his jacket.
I do have a tremendous urge to cover up my crotch in case Wayne Rooney's about now that you mention it.
Dunno
Every day is a David's Day
Little more Arsenal pressure beig applied now. Bendnter's header beaten behind, Sol gets too much under it from the resultant corner.
Do you want Spurs to win today? I know your thoughts on Spurs but do you want Costa to get fourth?
Crouchie nets for Spurs against his former club!
Nice header
I think he should start along side Rooney in SA
FFS, Clichy stands his ground, Banjo-boy runs into him, and not only does this ref give a free, but Gael ends up taking a yellow.
Wenger is rightly give the 4th a right earful. Abject, hopeless officiating.
It just got sillier. Cesc gets close to BB and they get another free.
Are Brum getting a handicap to keep them in this game?
Goal at The Den
Millwall take the lead
Second goal at the Bridge
VILLA TIE IT UP!!
Carew!
Oh Pat Rice may have said too much. I can't tell. Was he sent to the stands?
Blow up in all the matches in the Prem now!
Cambridge take the lead against Grays Athletic
I'm back for a moment between the sessions and notice that we're still at 0-0 with Norwich after half an hour and holding our own.
I'd definitely take a draw today.
About time that crap Norwegian was good for something.
Oh yes, I can't wait for St. Tottering's Day. Every day later than March 1st is like another day of Winter. So yes, I'll take Costa, Everton, Villa for 4th instead of those chavs.
Pat's still on the bench. The 4th is probably trying to find an interpreter before he calls the ref over.
Almunia called upon to get quickly down to parry Jerome's shot.
Birmingham's corner was evidently so bad that the ref has given them a do-over. I can't stand it.
Entirely too much action in our end at the moment.
Nice overhead kick by Crouchie
Cambridge double their lead
Birmingham have done a good job of nullifying our midfield. Gardner hacks Fabregas just now and Cesc is really feeling that. 50-50, without intent, but a very hard knock nonetheless. Pronounced limping from Cesc.
Luton are SEVEN up
With Cesc off the pitch receiving treatment, Jerome gets past Sol and really makes Almunia work.
Cesc looks badly injured now. Hobbling about and not likely to be able to continue. Birmingham can now probably take credit for ruining two out of our last three title runs.
Bristol Rovers have rebounded from being 2-0 down
It is now 2-2
Another ex Pompey doubles Spurs lead
Kranjcar with the second
What is the latest with Cesc? He has to be fit for Barcelona!
McFadyen down after a challenge from Clichy. Replay shows no contact above the shoulders, yet the Scotsman lays there holding his head, though he manages to lift his head up just enough to look to see if the ref has blown for a foul. He has, you cheat.
Cesc is on but he just tried to control a routine ball and missed it. He's in trouble.
Pompey look like they are going to give up a cricket score today. Maybe they are trying to give Spurs a false sense of security for the semi?
Millwall have doubled their lead
Chelsea retake the lead
Lamps with a penalty
BUGGER
Bad enough that Clichy just took a free kick that had Cesc's name all over it otherwise.
I'll take a 4-4 at the Bridge like a couple of years ago between these two teams!
Millwall are now THREE up
Wonder how many goals they are behind Leeds
Leeds +30
Millwall +23
Still space
Half time at St. Andrews 0-0
Half time at the Bridge 2-1
Funny. Ferguson had a 10-yard head start on Nik who catches up and tackles him.
0-0 at the half. This is not going to our plan anyway. Cesc is shown limping off with his head down. Wenger looking peeved. Unless we come out storming in the 2nd half and score a couple of quick ones, his gamble to play as strong a team as he's got at the moment may end up sacrificing the home leg against Barca.
Wolves and Everton are scoreless at half time. So are West Ham and Stoke
Hull winning 1-0
Spurs 2-0 up
Wenger did say that this match was more important than Barca
Leeds half way done to getting something from their visit to Norfolk
Ipswich 0-0 at Swansea
Rumors say that Curbishley could replace Keano if they Tractor Roys lose today
From the Beeb
1552: More drama off the field that on it in that first half at St Andrews. Plenty of verbals between Arsene Wenger and Alex McLeish, with the Arsenal manager and his No.2 Pat Rice both involved in lengthy exchanges with the fourth official. Meanwhile, Cesc Fabregas looked off the pace after that injury and it remains to seen whether he emerges for the second half. For the record the booking count is Arsenal 2-0 Birmingham.
He's right. Wenger is being realistic about which competition we're more likely to win. This squad against you guys in the final? We'd get that deer-in-headlight bullshit instead of confidence that we can even just compete.
All of our upcoming Premiership games are much more important than the CL this season.
We're suffering a bit today because Song is having to fill in at center back for Vermaelen. With him in the mid, and Thomas at the back, we'd be more in control of the midfield. Rosicky and Walcott on the flanks have not been able to cope defensively at all, and they've bullied Diaby and Fabregas.
Eboue will probably come on unless Theo pulls his finger out. Nasri might too. I'd love it if Eduardo could come on and score. That might be a turning point for his confidence, especially at the place that has set back his career so badly.
I think that you guys have a shot against Barcelona.
Inter or CSKA doesn't scare me either
I know!!! We've got two yellows for nothing in particular. It's been really fussy stuff from the ref calling 8 fouls on us and 5 on Brum who have really been physical in the mid in particular.
Rice is probably walking a fine line. I really thought he'd be sent to the stands.
McLeish knows what he's sent these guys out to do. It's the only option that this collection of journeymen and occasional convicts have.
We must do better and make their physical approach a non-factor.
Sure we've got a shot. But I think an unbeaten run to the last day in the Prem is more likely.
Cesc is the last one on the field at the start of the second. Sporting a heavy wrap on that knee I see.
C'mon you Reds!!! Get in!!!
I think you'll have problem with Spurs at WHL
I am not sure when that game is going to be played because of Spurs and the Cup
Do you know when it is being played
Game has restarted at the Bridge but FSC still on commmercial for WHL
Finally their back and we are underway again
Rosicky finally unleashes a decent shot. Hart saves well.
As the table stands, Spurs are SEVEN points ahead of Costa
Back at the start of the second half. Still 0-0. I'll take it, ta.
England's #1?
Hey Bob
Are you around for a while?
Jesus. Gardner again gets it completely wrong and hacks down Song. It probably looked worse because it was so incompetent a tackle but it did deserve a yellow. If only for persistent infringement. Bad refereeing again.
This baldy chap whose name escapes me is ruining my Saturday by the second.
Song's OK by the way.
OHH, Johnson was just off-side. A real let off there.
SS reporter says still no real shots on targets but a good game of football
Hull have doubled their lead against Fulham
Bad news for John and Tony
Hart in the future, perhaps. He doesn't look very tall. Am I right? I think modern keepers have to be 6'2 or taller to be thought of as international quality.
Nah - I have to pop off in a moment to set up my session.
Herman H going off on a stretcher for Pompey
Achilles injury again. What is that? This year's metatarsal injury
Still not getting to grips in the mid-field. I wouldn't let this go on if I were Wenger. Nasri, Eboue, now please.
COME ON YOU VILLIANS!!!!
Gardner pulls down Rosicky. We get the free, Gardner gets the Scot-free. Unbelievable.
Nik judged to have pushed to get that header that went over.
Did you see my news about Snushell's from earlier
Villa are on top at the Bridge... score a goal!
BUGGER... Chelsea score a third!
Malouda with Chelski's third. All over?
Forty odd minutes left at Carrow Road. Hang in there, you Whites!
Goal at Huddersfield
Huddersfield 1 Charlton 0
Good news
Huddersfield have taken the lead against Charlton. Excellent!
Walcott's performance reminds me of an Iggy Pop song.
"Theo's the passenger... he runs and he runs... there's no purpose to those runs... he is the passenger."
Get him off.
Diaby clear to take a shot straight at Hart.
8-0 Luton - bloody hell!
Luton are 8-0 up
Eric Morcambe would be happy
RIP Eric Morcambe
Chelsea need to stop scoring.
They are now two goals ahead of United
Millwall have scored a fourth
WE DON'T WANT MILLWALL GOING UP!!
Almost an hour gone at Carrow Road now. Hang in there!
I don't like fish so I wouldn't have known about that chippy. I hate to hear that any traditional English chippy is going out however.
But I'd be completely shattered if that Chinese takeaway with the egg-rolls that soaked up so much Holstein Pils consumed at The Ship went out.
BUGGER
Penalty for Chelsea
STOP SCORING!!
Lamps to take...
We do not!
Hat-trick for Lamps - I'll take one of those for England against Algeria this summer.
Hat-trick for Lamps 4-1
Another Chip shop opening in Mildenhall near the indybindy
Colchester take the lead
Grella seems to be making a difference.
Charlton have leveled it.
Charlton tie it up
Cambridge 3 up
Eddie's warming up. This has massive possibilities.
Walcott misses his pass after a good one-two with Diaby. God knows what's happened to hm. Too much too soon for sure, but there's got to be more to it.
Rosicky clogs Ferguson and we're away again.
Arsenal almost behind?
Brum off the post?
Of course, it was 4-4 with Chelsea and Villa.... LET'S HAPPEN AGAIN!
West Ham still struggling.
OMG. The Spanish Waiter just completely misjudges their free, and it comes back off the post to Jerome who puts it over from inside the 6 yard box. We need a goal. That's always a possibility that he'll do that.
Still 0-0 at Carrow Road. A little over 25 minutes left. Very even. Six shots each.
COME ON!
The second replay of the Jerome miss makes our defense all culpable. Sol caught ball-watching as it comes over.
Now Song's limping. He got done by that gent Gardner by the way.
Snoddy hits one just wide!
Bloody hell
Chelsea are 5-1 up
That puts them four up on United
United... your serve
Right - I'm off again. Crossing my fingers that things stay the same at Carrow Road.
Come one, you Whites!
Take care Bob
Chelsea have scored TEN in a week
Millwall score FIVE... they are catching up on Leeds
65 mins and no change. I'm completely amazed. This is real Vegas style gambling if it goes on for much longer.
Clichy just can't locate the big Dane there with his cross.
Good news is that Cesc is running freely.
And more good news is that we're picking up the pace and squeezing the playing area up like you guys do to increase the pressure.
Rosicky and finally Walcott's days are over today. Arshavin and Nasri on and not a moment too soon.
Cesc lines up the free kick...
Oh dear!
West Ham are now losing!
West Ham out of the drop zone by goal difference!
...which fails to clear the first defender.
We recover...pass, pass, pass, and Bentdner puts the cross wide of the goal.
"Arsenal cranking up the pressure"
Nasri puts a lovely cross in and Nik is foxed by the defender who just lets it sail by.
Spanish Waiter under no pressure shanks a clearance straight to them.
Nasri on the end of a lovely move. Weak shot.
It's all happening here now.
Good Lord. Ferguson must have torn his cloak of invisibility because the ref's just noticed that he's a thug and carded him.
Arshavin has been especially busy and giving Carr nightmares.
Le Tis says that an Arsenal goal should have counted!
Torres has pledge his future to Costa... enjoy the Europa League Fernando!
Cesc is involved in a crunching tackle and Diaby collects the ball and buries it!!!
Only for the ref to call it back because he thinks Cesc fouled there.
Le Tis is right. There was no foul from Cesc. I thought the ref was playing advantage. Calling it back was just insane.
Chucho on for I think McFadyen who might have put his back out falling over every time either Sol or Song got near him.
1636: It is absolutely smashing it down at Chelsea. It looks a bit like the end of the world. It probably feels a lot like that to Martin O'Neill and his Aston Villa players. The Chelsea fans getting soaked won't care a jot.
ITS SUNNY AT WHITE HART LANE!! THEY'RE BOTH IN LONDON!
10 minutes left to get something here.
Something has happened at St. Andrews.... a goal for the Arsenal!! Nasri
GOAL.
Cheslea score SIX!!
I didn't see this coming
Still no more news from Carrow Road
A Nasri special. Diaby wins a header in midfield and dishes it off to Nasri who beats one, then another Brum defender and then buries a low shot past a despairing Hart.
United are down in the third... your turn Red Devils!
Post-Roman Chelsea exist to break hearts. Pre-Roman Chelsea existed to provide laughs.
Again, Chelsea score six without Drogs!
Seven to go at Carrow Road
Wow, Kevin Phillips on for Brum. The 4th official correctly confiscated his mobility scooter.
Aha. That's it. Gardner's has finally been given it's just reward. A card. Finally.
The big game in the League 1 is the only one match in the division without a goal
WBA have tied it up at Reading
Alumunia came miles off his line for a sad-ass punch that we're grateful for falling to Banjo-boy who spanks it straight into Jasper Carrot's mush in row ZZZZZZZ
Another stretcher for another Pompey player
Three players taken off by stretcher in two games
2 minutes left here.
From Max, Bournemouth, via text to 81111: "The question is, should Drogba be starting against United if we have scored 24 goals in six games without him!?"
BUGGER!!
Lamps with his fourth and Chelsea's SEVENTH!!
Advantage Chelsea for GD
What does this say about the upcoming semi?
A goal at Carrow Road... for Norwich!!
Sorry mate
James now comes off for Pompey
Stephen Carr with a really agricultural foul. Arshavin was in there and why that's not a last man sort of sending off? I do not know.
Hart pulls off a really good save from Cesc's free, gets up and is there again for a really poor second effort from Andrei.
Oh dear for Steve
Kevin Phillips scores for Brum... off his face!
Chelsea win 7-1!
Not good!
Crap. Bad news Bob. Sorry.
Nasri by the way should have taken the shot, but elects to pick out Nik. Ball intercepted well by Johnson.
NOOOOOOOOOOOO,
The Spanish Waiter makes a terrible wave at it and then lets Phillips beat him.
Wolves 0 Everton 0 FT
Kandol sent off for Leeds for violent conduct
He came on 30 seconds before... never touched the ball and he is off!
Birmingham have drawn with Arsenal
Not good news for Steve
OR John
West Ham 0 Stoke 1
Is that the end for Zola
More bad news for the Dahlgren boys
Leeds have lost at Carrow Road
Sorry fellas
Hull win and go level with the Hammers with a game in hand!
Jesus that's a hell of a bad error. The shot he failed to deal with should have been saveable. He pushes it straight up instead of over the bar. If that had happened to a Sunday league keeper, his mates would have chinned him.
2 points just given away. Wenger will again have to answer questions about why, why, why, he's kept faith with a group of keepers as bad as Alumunia and Fabianski, and as green and inexperienced as Manone and Szezny (who by all accounts is singularly responsible for Brentfords success this year)
A devastating loss today. Looks like a point but it's a disguised loss.
Spurs win 2-0
I agree that is a bad result but St. Andrews is not an easy place to play. Chelsea and United both only came away with draws.
I refuse to think Arsenal are out of it
It has been said far too many times this season
Rooney is not in the squad!!
They're showing replays of the Alumnia error again. It's worse. He pushes the shot weakly up in the air and appears not to know where it's gone. If he sees it, he can probably gather it or at least beat it past the post and behind. But before he locates it, Phillips has chased it down and just heads it in.
That's an error that you shouldn't see in the Premiership.
We should have been allowed Diaby's goal, yes. The referee was poor, yes. Birmingham should have been made to stop fouling by the official, yes.
But the fact is that we were coasting towards a win and the Spanish Waiter, like always is possible, F****D it up again.
Millwall are only one goal behind Leeds too
Not a good day
Man Utd: Van der Sar, Neville, Vidic, Jonathan Evans, Evra, Fletcher, Scholes, Valencia, Giggs, Nani, Berbatov.
Subs: Kuszczak, Park, Carrick, Rafael Da Silva, Macheda, Gibson, De Laet.
Not happy with that line up!
SAF... we can't afford to look ahead to Bayern!
This better not come back and bite us!
Thanks Davey. It might not be a title ending loss. But it is indicative of the lack of stewardship that Wenger has allowed at in the goal-keeping position.
At last year's AGM, remember how brittle he was when he faced those questions about how unsuitable Almunia seemed to be for a club with trophy aspirations? Looks at the two keepers that he's seemed to show faith in, Almunia and Fabianski. The fans have howled, the press has been relentless; no-one has any idea of what Wenger sees in either of them or what possible outcome other than the one today could be.
Anyway, the boy and I have a lunch date. See you mate. Good luck.
Take care Steve
Missed the kick off but we are under way
Bolton dominating but United get some possession for the first time
Come on United!
Bolton still doing well
United have had a couple of half chances but nothing yet
We need a win AND some goals!
Ooh, nice shot by Berba
Corner to United....cleared for another one
Corner to United...Evans hits one over the bar after a scramble!
Evra and Rickets are both still down after a challenge
Get up Patrice
Rickets is up first
I think Evra will be up too ... he is
A quarter of the match gone... still scoreless
