Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Leeds v. Millwall Live!

It's a true promotion six-pointer today between my beloved Whites and the despised Lions of Millwall. Should be a hot one and I'm of course hoping for the full three points at Elland Road, which will take us one step closer to automatic promotion.

Veteran grafter Paul Dickov gets his first start since his loan move along Luciano Becchio. I'm hoping that JB just has a slight knock and hasn't thrown the toys out of the pram with Grayson again.

I've got the same link. It just went straight through to Channel 1, right? No other channels operating?

How are you today, mate?

3:28 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

That's right.

Today was okay until I got to Period 9... they just take all the energy out of me!

How are you?

I didn't you were going to be around?

So JB does have an injury
8 points ahead at the New Year and now trailing!

Today is an absolute catastrophe for me. I was buzzing the leek-eaters about all over hill and dale visiting schools this morning and now the students are piling in for advisement since they've just been on break. Class at 4:30. I'm just looking forward to getting home and putting my feet up with FFF tonight.

3:46 PM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

Are you getting any clear commentary. My link's completely fuzzy at the moment.

Kick off time! Here we go with Leeds United!

Blogger The Blue Devil said...

Handbags between Snoddy and some Millwall twat from the off. Not a good sign. Calm down, lads!

3:48 PM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

Thanks for the second link, mate. It's got much better sound quality.

It's all boiled over again. This is getting nasty straight away. Bloody hell!

Why is Millwall still a football club? They're just trouble.

3:52 PM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

To be fair, Kisnorbo did go straight through the back of Harris there. But just take the free kick and get on with it.

3:52 PM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

Bloody hell! That was close. Kisnorbo was completely done for pace. He's just back from injury and still has the Paul Ince "Pint of Guinness" head wound look going.

And now Kisnorbo is down nursing a knock.

3:54 PM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

There is no way Kisnobo will be able to continue and Grayson will be forced into a early substitution.

3:54 PM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

Yes - he's being stretchered off now.

It's all Millwall pressure right now. We haven't started clicking at all. What is going on?

It's also really disturbing to see so many empty seats tonight for what is a crucial clash for us.

I'm about to head off to set up my class. I'm hoping that when I come back it's 2-1 Leeds.

Come on!

I have finally got the computer back
I will check the game now

55 minutes gone and still 0-0

Very disappointed with the amount of seats showing! This is a big match!

Leeds starting to put some pressure on

It's LEEDS TIME!

5:05 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Half an hour to go
I have to go to drop off dinner at my father-in-law
Be back in 3 minutes

5:06 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Back and still 0-1
Leeds needs AT LEAST a draw!

Come on Leeds... Bob deserves a goal!

5:12 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Millwall go close
20 minutes to go

LEEDS TIME!!

5:16 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Only 12 minutes to go!

5:24 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Oh Dear!!

Batt has double Millwall's lead. He should have never been able to get a shot off. Beat Casper at the near post too!

COME ON LEEDS!!

TWO QUICK GOALS!

5:26 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Becchio hits one over the bar from a tight angle

Batt almost scores again down the other end

5:28 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Under 10 to go

5:28 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

If the score stays the same, Leeds will only be three points ahead of Millwall but with a better goal difference
Leeds will be four up on Charlton and Swindon and 8 up on Colchester having played a game more

Still okay!

5:30 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Just one goal would make Millwall nervous

5:30 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Under 5 to go... The Kop is really begging for a goal!

5:33 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

The Leeds fans are starting to pour out of the stadium

5:35 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Elland Road is sounding quiet and looking empty

You're still in an automatic promotion position

Millwall just wasting time in the corner flag

3 minutes of stoppage time

5:36 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Leeds have to go to Norwich?

Howson should have gotten a shot off but he took an extra touch

5:37 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Norwich is next up
Millwall host Stockport
Colchester host Wycombe
Swindon visits Jeff's lot
Charlton visit Huddersfield

That is it

All over at Elland Road

Sorry mate

This is the low point!

You're going to still go up!

Take care,
UWS

A shite ending to a shite day.

Yes - Norwich at Carrow Road on Saturday. I'm not optimistic after tonight's shambles.
