The Saturday Early Show!
I'll be waking up with the chickens tomorrow to follow my beloved Leeds boys taking on the villainous Millwall at Elland Road. Then we have one of the most fascinating ties of the day - plucky Blackpool at the Emirates to meet Arsenal. Then at 12:30 we get a chance to see if Chelski can better their total from last week as they go to Wigan. Join me for all the usual LOB coverage!

Morning, chaps! I've got a lovely link for Soccer Saturday up through p2p:
http://www.justin.tv/vip__football#/w/330878768/5
Unfortunately, it looks as if Derby v. Coventry is the early match on Sky rather than Leeds v. Millwall.
The usual panel of Big Nose Phil, Le Tiss, Merse and Charlie. Love 'em!
Ian Holloway with a brilliant Worzel Gummidge "Oooh arrrr" West Country accent.
Morning Bob
I am up early too
I did find this on Justin.
Not working yet. There is another website on the right hand side too
http://www.justin.tv/rtcup#/w/331635264
Leeds have won on 8 of their last 25 games... Probably just after your naughties at Old Trafford!
Coventry v. Derby are about to kick-off. I'm going to stick with SS.
Morning, Dave! How was your week?
Busy working around the house.
I have a three day workshop next week
How was yours?
Really busy - I had meetings all week. I was completely knackered last night. I was at a faculty social having a couple of drinkies but I conked out about 9 pm. I'm old.
Not sure about a working link for Leeds but I appreciate the effort. With Sky covering the Coventry v. Derby match, I don't know what channel would have Leeds.
All the panelists are picking Arsenal to win by 3-0, 4-0, 5-0 and even 6-0! Were they watching last week?
Hearts are 0-2 up at Hamilton already.
What was said that made them all crack up at the end?
Sorry - I didn't catch it. I was re-filling my coffee cup.
Here's the Leeds side for today:
# 1. Kasper Schmeichel
# 2. Paul Connolly
# 6. Richard Naylor
# 5. Neill Collins
# 21. Federico Bessone
# 18. Sanchez Watt
# 8. Neil Kilkenny
# 14. Jonathan Howson
# 16. Bradley Johnson
# 10. Luciano Becchio
# 11. Lloyd Sam
SS now talking about the Leeds v. Millwall match. Kicking off in a moment or two at Elland Road.
Come on, you Whites!
Here we go with Leeds United!!!!!!
That was quick - now the panel is discussing the Milner move to Citeh and the midfield quandary for Roberto Mancini.
Five Live Commentary
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00tj7x2
Good old Five Live - they've got the live commentary from Elland Road. Luv it!
Cheers, mate!
From Elland Road... Casper has already needed!
The commentator is saying that Leeds have started brightly.
Oh Sanchez Watt with a chance but crowded out.
We're still missing three key players - Patrick Kisnorbo in the back, Snoddy and Billy Paynter up front.
Yeah - Max Gradel is out through suspension as well.
I can't believe that anyone is talking about back to back promotion. That's just madness.
Bllody Hell... og!!!
BUGGGERRRRRR!!!!
Millwall have scored. Might have been an own goal off Naylor. Sounds like a mess.
Another bad start for us.
All three games, you've fallen behind early... who are you? The U.S.?
Millwall on top with nine points now!
We'll likely drop to 17th or 18th with -2 GD.
I know, I know....
No one has scored against Millwall yet this season!!
Coventry have a penalty....
Coventry score a pen
Coventry convert their pen - their up to 7 points now. Into second.
Oh - sounds like a decent chance there for either Sam or Becchio.
Lisbie and Morrison are giving us fits right now.
I know all the TV coverage is great but listening to Five Live coverage just reminds me of being at The Meadows on Saturday afternoons and also me listening to my shortwave radio every Saturday morning over here
Oh - Becchio just over the bar!
It is brilliant - yeah. Lots of memories of the Meadows on a Saturday afternoon.
Oh - Howson has hit the post now! We're knocking on the door here. Better play from Leeds.
Howson should have scored? Just came in from a poop run for Shadow
Millwall "clinging on"
Come on you Whites!
"Millwall clinging on to their lead."
Now we've got a free kick.
Ronaldo to take the free kick?
Don't the neighbors complain about you pooping in their yard. Shocking behavior, Dave!
Off the wall
Nah - it's Johnson and straight into the wall unfortunately.
They don't mind!!!
Why have Five Live got Robbie Savage doing Five Live?
Where's Alan Green on Saturday's 606?
CONGRATS MATE!!!!
1-1
YESSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
New boy Lloyd Sam with his third goal of the season!
1-1 Game on!
SS
"leeds have dominated"
Coventry go in 1-0 up against Derby.
Now it's Neil Collins "inches wide" with a header. All Leeds now. Similar to the second half against Forest last week. It seems to take us fifteen minutes to get going.
Not as much work for Kasper today.
Oh - Sanchez Watt draws a save out of the tubby Millwall keeper. Another "free flowing move" from us.
Promotion stuff by the team in white.. you're wiping the floor with the top team in the division!!
I'd like another goal or two before half time to capitalize on our domination right now.
The tubby Millwall keeper with a double save from Watt and Becchio now!
Oh - now Collins has hit the woodwork with a header!
Millwall are rocking!
Who is this Sanchez Watt?
loan from Arsenal
Yeah - Arsenal youth prospect on loan to us right now. He's English so he doesn't have a hope of playing for the Gunners.
Getting close to half time now. Good time for us to score, eh?
Two balls on the pitch!
That's half-time. 1-1. Good match but I want more goals from the Whites in the second half.
Half time
Good performance... now get the win
Big Nose is defending a United player!
Wenger said that Scholes has a dark side
BIg Nose said it was out of order
At the end of this match I am going to rush off to my nearest Staples store. It is Teacher Appreciation Day and I want a free gift!
I've just had a wee kip during half time. We did finish strongly but I wan the win!
A little Leeds Calypso going now....
What are you looking to pick up at Staples?
Teams coming out for the second half now.
Teams are coming back out at Elland Road
Come on Leeds... get a deserved lead
10 shots to 1 on target for us!
MOT!!!!!!!!
Nothing in particular but they give some decent free gifts. I think they gave a fellow teacher last year a flashdrive
It is only from 9 to 12
That's really good. I could use a new flash drive.
I could go soon but I am staying here to support your lot
Hearts now 0-4 up away to Hamilton!
Coventry and Derby are locked at 1-1 now.
25000... where are all the fans!!!
I'll tell you what, though. Our first home match at Derby we had 26-27K fans and we were far and away the highest gate of the day in the Championship. This one will probably be as well.
Lloyd Sam definitely seems like our danger man today.
We've got loads of fans in South Africa due to the Lucas Radebe connection.
Kenny Jacket making the first change of the match for Millwall.
'jacketless' Jacket
Oh - Johnson across the area but Sam couldn't stick it in.
Come on, you Leeds boys! Get a goal!
It is now... officially.... LEEDS TIME
I've got my new United shirt on to boost you guys on
Cheers, mate!
You lot play tomorrow on Monday against Fulham?
Oh - that sounded like a close call for us.
Tomorrow's 11 o'clock game
Citeh and Liverpool are on Monday
Struth... Millwall almost score.. knock it off
Coventry retake the lead
Leeds, it is your time
Coventry back in the lead now. 2-1 there.
Coventry and Millwall now top of the table.
Jimmy Armfield talking about the Leeds Academy... I'm used to that from some bloke I know
Too much Millwall pressure for my liking right now. We've slightly let them back in. Maybe time for a change or two. Becchio has been anonymous in this half.
We are proud of our Academy system.
Leeds should have taken a healthy lead into half time.... have they blown it?
I hope not. I'd like to see Mike Grella on in a moment or two. Half way through the second half.
Oh - Becchio should have scored but put it into the keeper's body.
Leeds make their first change.
Frenchman Davide Somma on now to partner Becchio up front. Grayson's pushing for that winning goal. Bessone has gone off.
Oh - Morrison heads just wide. Referee has awarded a corner to Millwall. Come on!
Coventry did something Leeds couldn't do... beat Derby at home!
YES!!!
LEEDS HAVE SCORED.
YESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Debut goal for Somma only moments after coming on.
2-1! MOT!
MOT? I am trying to figure it out!!!
That goal knocks Millwall off the top of the box.
oooh - Kasper with an acrobatic save. Millwall are pouring it on now.
MOT - Marching on Together!
not, Made 'Orrible Tea, lad!
Coventry have finished at 2-1 and will be temporarily top of the Championship.
ahhh
Under 10 to go
Where would this put Leeds?
Up to 8th according to Five Live
And more importantly, that pushes us up to ninth temporarily. Mid-table - that's what I want.
All Leeds again!
Can't be much time left now.
"A wicket at the cricket"
oooh off the post and saved! Almost the clincher!
Oh - Lloyd Sam off the bar! really close to 3-1.
England need five wickets and Pakistan need 20 odd
COME ON ENGLAND
A collision between Bradley Johnson and a Millwall player.
Matt just showed me the opening credits to the highlight show. I think that is pretty neat. All the emblems! Did you see it?
Almost into stoppage time now. Blow up ref!
I haven't seen it yet.
No crowd trouble yet....good to hear.
Just saw the howler by Howard... yikes!
Did you hear on FL that the Millwall fans only had vouchers and had to pick up tickets from the police at a service station
Yeah - that was horrible. Loads of goalkeeping mistakes last weekend.
4 added minutes... that's a quite a lot!
Yeah - I heard that. A good idea, I thought.
Our top scorer Lloyd Sam comes off to a huge ovation now.
Millwall free kick....wasted. Phew!
Blow up, ref!
another wicket
16 runs needed
4 wickets needed
Joel... mow the lawn
YES!!!
SUPER SUB SCORES AGAIN!!!
Stop making so much noise Bob... you're waking the neighbors!
Congratulations!
YESSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!
3-1! That'll do nicely.
Somma with a brace today.
Final whistle then - 3-1 I'm a happy chappy. Off for a quick shower before the 10 am kickoffs.
It is over
Congrats again
I am off to get my free gift
I'll be back for the 10 o'clockers a little later
TTFN
I'm back and it's Arsenal v. Blackpool on ESPN2 and Everton v. Wolves on FSC. I know which one I'll be watching!
Pakistan still need 15 runs and have conceded six wickets. A squeaker there.
There's a 25 year old Michael Oliver officiating at Birmingham today - the youngest ever Premiership referee.
The line-ups for Arsenal v. Blackpool:
Arsenal: Almunia, Sagna, Song, Vermaelen, Clichy, Diaby, Wilshere, Walcott, Rosicky, Arshavin, Chamakh
Blackpool: Gilks, Baptiste, Evatt, Cathcart, Crainey, Sylvestre, Vaughan, Adam, Grandin, Harewood, Taylor-Fletcher
World Cup finalists Cesc Fabregas and Robin van Persie are named on the Arsenal bench for the clash with Blackpool at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners are forced to adjust the team which snatched a late 1-1 draw at Liverpool last weekend, with midfielder Alex Song dropping into defence to cover for suspended Laurent Koscielny.
Dave will be happy - no Lexi Lalas today. Only Bretos and Mustoe in the studio.
The Tangerines are in their away strip - white with orange trim.
Here we go then - ESPN2 right on time with the kick-off!
I'm really looking forward to this match.
Good morning BD and UWS.
Predictable pattern here - Arsenal straight into the tippy tappy football and Blackpool looking to hit them on the break through Harewood and Taylor-Fletcher.
Morning, MUR! Great to have you on board. How was your first week back?
Dave's just run out to Staples who are having a "Teacher Appreciation Day" with freebies to give away. He should be back shortly.
Blackpool will need to be disciplined in order to get anything out of this match. This will be a real test for them.
Blackpool are doing what we hoped that they'd do - balls out attacking. This should be a really open and entertaining match.
The first week was inservice and a teacher workday yesterday. I think I am ready for Monday. Did you go back to work this week or do you go back on Monday.
I could see the Tangerines nicking something here. I don't have any confidence in the Arsenal back line. They've got Song replacing the suspended Koscielny today.
We had the same thing - lots of meetings and in-service workshops last week and back on Monday. Looking forward to it.
Was Taylor-Fletcher defending by his own corner flag?
That could have been 1-0 if Chamakh had been more composed on the ball. His pass was wayward and Blackpool recover.
Oh - Walcott cut a lovely ball back across the area but no one was running in.
The Tangerines seem to have primarily journeyman players who have never played at this level. Only a few have played in the EPL.It's amazing that they are doing as well as they have.
That was a chance for Blackpool. Vaughan shot straight at the keeper.
Oh - great move from Blackpool. Grandin might have had a shot but squared to Vaughan. They look bright so far. I had a feeling.
Song might have picked up a yellow there for a cynical foul. Blackpool have a chance here.
Free kick comes to nothing. They need to take advantage of those opportunities.
GOAL! Theo strokes home Arsenal's first goal after good work from Rosicky and Arshavin.
1-0 Arse!
The Gunners come straight down the other end and score through Walcott as he Arshavin puts him through. A nice finish. 1-0.
Barnsley have scored an early goal against Bristol City.
Any thoughts about that United v. Newcastle match on Monday? I don't think I've had a chance to chat with you since that one.
Oh - Taylor-Fletcher should have headed home there. A bit of a sitter there missed.
Interesting - Edgar Davids has just signed for Crystal Palace.
That was another opportunity for Blackpool as Vaughan headed wide with just the keeper to beat after a great cross.
Reading have taken an early lead against Notts Forest.
L1 favorites Southhampton are 1-0 up.
I was pleased with the result Monday. It was a professional performance, but they can do better. United usually start slow and improve as the season progresses.
Now it's Chamakh drifting out wide right instead of Theo. Not quite sure where the Moroccan is playing?
I was impresses with Spurs comeback against Young Boys. That was a great match and Spurs are back in the tie.
I replayed the goal. It started from the goal kick. There were eleven passes and some slack Blackpool defending.
That's a fair point about United. Fulham up next for them tomorrow.
Blackpool may struggle, but they have shown that they are not going to be whipping boys.
Yeah, I agree. They're a decent footballing side.
United should beat Fulham tomorrow. That will be another reunion with Mark Hughes.
Great save there by Jilks from Arshavin.
Gilks saved well from Arshavin, but the flag was up for offside.A great move by the Gunners.
A scrappy opener at the Britannia as well as Gareth Bale's shot falls to Peter Crouch. His header is blocked on the line but hits Bale in the face and goes in to give Spurs a 1-0 lead at Stoke.
Oh - Chamakh just wide after some more sterling work from Walcott.
Blakckpool have had their opportunities, but have not worked the keeper.Just wide by Chamakh after a great passing by the Gunners. They are starting to take control of this match.
Arsenal have had the better chances. That is usually a sign of the gap between the Premier League and the Championship.
QPR continue their perfect record by scoring early at Loftus Road against Scunthorpe. They're top of the Champ.
Stoke have leveled it against Spurs at the Britannia.
I read about Edgar David on soccernet. He did retire two years ago. I am not sure why he joined Crystal Palace.
I am home.. what a waste... all i got was crap!
I seen Spurs and Stoke are all square
What else did I miss?
The boys won't give up the TV.. they're watching Kicking and Screaming
Hello MUR. The Gunners are 1-0 up against Blackpool. Theo scored seconds after Blackpool missed a sitter.
