Morning, MUR! Thanks for posting the thread. I've taken the liberty of attaching an image to it. Hope you approve. Looking forward to this morning's clash.
We have another example of what The Guardian has dubbed "Playstation Football," where a team racks up a cricket score against another, this morning. On the heels of Arsenal's 5-0 drubbing of Blackpool, who in turn hammered Wigan 4-0 last weekend, and Chelski's 6-0 mullering of Wigan, Newcastle are currently 5-0 up on Villa - 3-0 winners at home to West Ham last weekend. What is going on in the Premiership this season?
The image is excellent!!! Ta very much. I attempted to add an image, but was unsuccessful. I noticed that Newcastle United is defeating Villa 4-0. I did not expect that.
Just a reminder - United will need to knock Fulham for ten goals today to surpass Chelski's +12 GD so far.
I need to update.WOW!!! I did not expect a 5-0 score. I it is the haves vs the have nots.Perhaps, some teams are not good enough to be in the EPL.

As much as I believe in United, I do not see them scoring ten at the Cottage. They are tough at home and Hughes will want to prove something to us. Chelski played two of the strugglers. Let's see how they do against a decent team. With our luck, Martinez will be gone by the time we play Wigan.

I agree. I guess the Toon are for real. That makes our victory on Monday that much more impressive. We beat a decent comfortably, not one of the relegation candidates.

WOW!!! It is rare for a newly promoted team to score like that so early in the season.
That does seem a strange result. I expect Newcastle to be able to survive in the Premiership because they have a fearsome home support at St. James's but I don't expect them to knock decent mid-level sides for six! And only a week after Villa looked so impressive against the Hammers (and in mid-week in the Europa). Weird.

Spurs did make an incredible comeback against Young Boys. They are still in it. I thought they were out once they went 0-3 down.
The Toon won 6-0. EVERY scorer was English and Crew missed a penalty two minutes before Joey Barton put Newcastle 1-0 up. That must have been an incredible match.
Well, this is the perfect opportunity to show that United aren't as dependent on Rooney as they were last season.
I still can't stop thinking about that Blackburn match. All we needed to do was put one of those chances and we would have been Champions!

Rooney is looking the part,BD. Each newly promoted side has won a match two games in to the season. I did not expect that, and two of those sides have scored six and four goals in a match. That is unusual for newly promoted sides.
I'm not sure United need a Benzema. The real holes that you need to fill are at goalkeeper and center back with VDS and Rio getting older.
Buffon is a smart move. At 32, you could easily get five years out of him.

I almost wonder if the management behind the team is willfully tanking things so that they can up sticks and go to another town where they can get a new stadium.
