We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Oh - and let's not forget Leeds at Scunthorpe. A localish Yorkshire derby and time for the Whites to get their season back on track after two bad home losses.
Good morning BD. I am watching the match at the Emirates.
Good morning UWS. Best of luck at regionals and sectionals.
Da Costa is called for a foul on Denilson.
The Hammers will have to play much better than they did against Newcastle last week and hop that Green goes not commit any errors.
That was nice football by the Gunners as there was great inter play and nice one - two between Chamakh and Arshavin. Arshavin's finish was poor.
Gabbidon made a last ditch tackle on Nasri to prevent a great goal scoring opportunity.

1559: MANCHESTER UNITED V TOTTENHAM
Paul Fletcher reports: "The last time Tottenham won at Old Trafford was back in December 1989 when a certain Gary Lineker notched the only goal of the game. Spurs have failed to win any of their last 25 meetings against United in all competitions and Sir Alex Ferguson will be keen to extend that sequence as his Red Devils look to close the five-point gap on leaders Chelsea

We're underway again
I know it is very early but everything going well for both teams on display at Old Trafford

Bristol City are now winning at the Riverside!
QPR are being dominated by Burnley but it is still 1-1. They could lose their top spot to the leaks

I wish the same,MUR.
MAKE THAT FOUR ONE
Skipper Howson... with a hat-trick!
Still 0-0 at the Emirates. The Hammers would pick up an unexpected point at the Emirates.
The Hammers win a corner as Clichy makes a list ditch tackle to concede a corner. The corner is wasted as a foul is conceded.
Jeff asks Charlie what is going on at Stamford Bridge... 'well, we're not at Stamford Bridge but..."
Great result for Leeds, I hope we can do the same against Spurs.
Merson doesn't understand what is Mancini doing with his substitutions
Under 15 to go... let's hope all stays the same
Big Nik is on for Arshavin. I would love to see Wolves hold on for an unlikely victory against Citeh.
United man Diouf had a chance at the back post. He should have knocked it across the box
Chamakh is losing the plot. He picks up a stupid yellow for an obvious tug on Da Costa's shirt, then tries to start a fight with Da Costa.
Roberts should have put Rovers ahead!! He should have scored!! Great job to make a chance and then hits it wide
Another world class save from Green as Theo's long range effort takes a wicked deflection off of Gabbidon.
I can't believe it... Chelsea have scored!!
The announcer stated that the Hammers got a 0-0 draw at the Emirates a few seasons ago. Will history repeat itself?
They should have been behind!
Another world class save as Green makes a fantastic reflex save from Cesc.
I don't care if Chelsea win... well I do care.. but they aren't that much better than all the rest
The Hammers won here 0-1 in April 2007 when Green also made some great saves.

Interesting side for United... Park gets the start
It will be interesting to see how United perform. Congrats to Bob and boo to Cardiff.
Didn't they just sign Rooney and then offer more cash for other players??
I meant to paste this
"Protest march outside Old Trafford against Glazers. Thousands heading down Sir Matt Busby Way."
Citeh had a foul throw in injury time... lovely jubbley
Wolves have Citeh, Chelsea, United and Arsenal next up
They also played United in the League Cup inside that run too!
1715: MANCHESTER UNITED V TOTTENHAM
Paul Fletcher reports: "Man Utd make three changes from the side that defeated Stoke in the Premier League, with Rafael da Silva, Michael Carrick and Ji-Sung Park in for Gary Neville, Paul Scholes and John O'Shea. Tottenham boss Hary Redknapp resists the temptation to rest Gareth Bale, as the Spurs boss makes two changes from the side that drew with Everton as Robbie Keane and Jermaine Jenas come in for Peter Crouch and Wilson Palacios."
I am pleased there is no Crouch
1718: Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson on the current Tottenham team: "This is the best in my time, they are consistent and strong. They have got a good squad now and can cope with the demands of the Champions League and the Premier League. I am very impressed with them."
SAF says in his program notes
"you used to say that you have to finish above United to win the Championship... now you have to finish above Chelsea"
Very surprising comments from Sir Alex
Edwin van der Sar becomes only the ninth player (and first from outside the UK and Ireland) to play Premier League football over the age of 40 - and the first to do so for over three years since Alec Chamberlain played his last PL match on May 13, 2007. By contrast, Rafael da Silva wasn't even born the last time Tottenham beat Man Utd in the league.
I agree with your statement about Crouch. I think we can handle Keane, but VDV is a talented player. Crouch is available on the bench.
Both scores last season was 3-1... more again please
VDS is the first post-war player aged 40+ to play for United.
I read an outrageous story on soccernet stating that Maradonna would like to manage an EPL team. That will never happen. Any EPL team would be bonkers to hire him.
United need three points to keep pace with the Gunners and Chelski.
The League Cup Quarter Final draw in full
Arsenal vs Wigan
Birmingham vs Aston Villa
West Ham vs Man Utd
Ipswich vs West Brom
Matches to be played in the week of 11/29
Those are some interesting draws. I knew about our match at Upton Park. The "Second City Derby" will be interesting. I think that derby will be one of the EPL matches tomorrow.
We have not lost to Spurs in 25 league meetings. The last time Spurs won at OT, Gary Lineker scored the winner.
Mark Clattenburg gets the match underway. Do you remember when he helped us against Spurs a few years ago when Roy Carroll fumbled the ball over the line and failed to award a goal? The match finished 0-0.
Wee Pea is praying on his knees before kick off
We're off!
ooh, off the post by Park!
Good start from United!
Nani has fallen over quite a lot so far
United have started very well!
A great run by Lennon and a world class tackle by Fletch.
SAF is up for FIFA coach of the year.
FSC must be a minute behind according to my calculations.
Nani should have played in Rafa
Mancini admits that Wolves deserved to win. He also said his players stopped playing after 15 minutes!
struth... Vidic gives up the ball and VDV beats VDS with a great strike but it raps against the post!
1 post each
WOW! VDV had a long range effort cannon off the post giving VDS no chance.
To be honest, I don't consider Citeh a legitimate challenger for the title. They have failed to convince me.
Spurs are starting to cause United problems
Why didn't United see that VDV was available!
I agree. VDV is talented and cannot be given a lot of time on the ball.
Nice move from United ends with Park hitting one wide and high
Park did well to create the opportunity, but his left foot curler is high and wide.
Drac is fouled against his former team and wins a free kick about 35 yards from goal.
Park has started well
Park has started well
The free kick is wasted.
Gallas in the book
Gallas is deservedly booked for a horrible challenge on Wea Pea.
Barnsley take the lead at home to Hull
COME ON UNITED!!!
ooh, Carrick with a bullet and the rebound is almost there for Hernandez
Carrick shoots straight at Gomes who fumbles before gathering. Another ex Spurs player.
That was well out of play... they better not score from this corner
They don't
That should have been a goal kick, not a corner. I don't blame VDS for being furious. Kaboul heads high and wide from the corner.
Great move by Spurs
Spurs win a corner after causing the United defense problems.
United clear the corner, but Spurs keep possession. They are currently playing the better football.
COME ON UNITED !!!
Nice move from United ending with Fletcher having his shot easily saved
That was better from United Gomes makes an easy save from Fletch.
So far Cap and Les Ferdinand have been spotted watching the match.
That was high and wide by Wea Pea.
Drac has failed to make an impression on this match.
That was a nasty challenge by Kaboul on Wea Pea. A deserved booking.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
VIDIC WITH A GREAT HEADER!!!
5Live seem to be on the same time with FSC
GOAL !!! 1-0 to United as Vidic scores with a great header off the free kick from Bob's favorite player.
Teddy Sheringham was the last player aged 40+ to play in the EPL. I believe that was with the Hammers.
I meant to say outfield player when discussing Sheringham.
United did well to head away Bale's cross.
Rafael heads away for a corner after some great football from Spurs.
Great save by VDS
Spurs doing well here too
VDS does well to save that rocket from Modric off the short corner from VDV.
Drac shot straight at Gomes after breaking down the left.
Barnsley lead Hull City 1-0 at halftime. I thought Hull were one of the favorites for promotion.
Spurs have 56% of the possession and United have 100% of the goals.
Jenas curls the shot well wide.
Gomes does well to block the effort from Drac with his feet. It was always going to be difficult to score from that angle.
Carrick brings down Asiou-Ekotu after a great run.
United clear the free kick from VDV. One minute of stoppage time.
Park is down injured in injury time. 200 comments.
Half time
United playing well but so are Spurs
All to play for in the second half
