Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Footie Riddler of the Week

We're nearly through the first month of 2012, so it's high time to trot out one of our favorite features here at the LOB - the Footie Riddler of the Week:

"Which player won a European club league title in the past six seasons?"

(Full points if you can name the clubs and the years)

Good luck, chaps!

Years?
Wouldn't that be 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007 and 2006

The answer is Zlatan Ibrahimovic
He won Won the title in Italy, Spain and Italy again
2006 Juve- I think they had their championship taken away
2007 Inter
2008 Inter
2009 Inter

Of course, King Eric came VERY close!

1992 Leeds
1993 Man Utd
1994 Man Utd
1995 lost by a point and was suspended for 8 months.. surely he would have made a point difference after January!
1996 Man Utd
1997 Man Utd
Then he retires!

That must be it. I was thinking of it and couldn't think of a player. It must be Zlatan. Well done Matt. What a shame about King Eric. He was so close , but for that suspension.

Zlatan it is - congratulations to Matt. He wins the celebratory blow on the head...or dagger up the clitoris, if he prefers.

Fairly amazing record for the big Swede, don't you think?
